Club Development Officer John Ebell extended an open invitation to current MMYC club members and anybody interested in giving RC sailing a try to a Fun Sail Day on 13 July at Melford Pond and members and newcomers enthusiastically attended.  Nine skippers participated including newcomers Richard, David and Norm each with sparkling new DF65 boats.  Winds were sometimes light and variable, but that didn’t seem to hinder anybody from enjoying a beautiful day and welcome practice stick time.  All in all, a fun day and definitely something everybody will happily attend again!

Model Yachting

History of model yachting.

Shipbuilders usually build scale models of the boats they’re constructing. But they never thought of racing them. However, a lot of other people thought that racing model yachts would be a fun hobby and formed model yachting clubs all over the world.

In the United States, the American Model Yacht Association (AMYA) promotes model yachting throughout the country. The AMYA divides the US into six regions and recognizes thirty classes of yachts for racing. The AMYA even has a class of vintage sailboats for vintage-sailboat lovers. There’s plenty variety among the classes of yachts. A yacht type for just about everyone – from the twelve-inch “Footy” to boats over eighty-five inches long. In the US, over 4,000 model yachters have registered their sailboats with the AMYA.

The Back Bay Skippers chose the one-meter soling class for their yacht because the soling is inexpensive and easy to build. The soling also is the most widely sailed yacht among model yachters in the US. Over a thousand are registered with the AMYA and thousands more unregistered solings are sailed by hobbyists as well.

The New Hampshire Boat Museum welcomes you to join the Back Bay Skippers. Our friendly group includes men, women, and children. If you don’t have a model yacht, you can build one over the winter during our model yacht building workshop .

If you’re not ready to “take the plunge” or just want to look, please visit us on the Cotton Valley Rail-Trail on Back Bay in Wolfeboro on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon. And if you want to try your hand at sailing a soling, we can lend you a spare.

Solings sail every Tuesday and US12’s sail every Thursday from 1PM to 4PM, weather permitting, from Bridge Falls Walking Path, right next to the municipal parking lot which is at the end of Glendon Street. Everyone is welcome, we love to share our hobby. You can try your hand at sailing or just enjoy the spectacle. Bring the youngsters, bring your camera, and spend a few hours in the beauty of sailboats on the waters of Back Bay.

"I'm sure she could find something more flattering to wear. This isn't it!" someone else remarked . More users reacted negatively. "How embarrassing," said one user.

"The swimsuit is not flattering. She is in her 50s so stop the criticism. She is not 'wow' but no need for name calling [sic]," a naysayer said . A disappointed critic echoed the sentiment, "Not a flattering top," while another pointed out Penny's sagging breasts and wrinkles.

Amidst the criticism, however, some netizens voiced support and empathy for Penny's outfit. One user appreciated Penny's candid display of her natural self, "Thank you, Penny for making me feel better about my 50 yo Mom bod [sic]."

Another gushed , "Its comforting to know that even an ex model can still put on a few extra pounds, and succumb to the effects of gravity and the normal aging process [sic]."

Despite mixed comments from netizens, Penny remains popular on social media. In June, she posted a photo on Instagram, showing off her legs while posing with her sons, Alastair and Aiden. They attended the wedding of Rod's son, Liam Stewart, 29, and his fiancée, Nicole Artukovich.

Besides Alistair and Aiden, Rod has six other children. He is a dad to daughter Sarah, whom he and his ex-girlfriend Susannah Boffey placed for adoption as teens. Rod and his ex-wife Alana Stewart also share a daughter Kimberly and a son Sean.

Rod welcomed his son Liam and daughter Renee with his other ex-wife, Rachel Hunter . He is also a dad to daughter, Ruby, with his ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg.

Lori Harvey showed off a racy leopard-printed bikini on vacation in St. Tropez Tuesday, relaxing on a luxurious yacht as she soaked up the sun with her family.

The 27-year-old model and swimwear entrepreneur — whose father is comedian Steve Harvey — struck various poses while perched on a railing in some sizzling pics she shared on her Instagram Story .

The socialite shaded her face from the sun in a straw cowboy hat and accessorized with a pair of chic sunglasses, a diamond-trimmed gold Jacquie Aiche belly chain ($8,525), several ankle bracelets and chunky gold earrings by Fiery Jewelry ($65).

She enjoyed some music with her family on board, sharing videos of herself dancing and also taking a trip down a slide into the sea before rinsing off in an outdoor shower.

The SKN by LH skincare founder told SI Swim  that posing for the mag was a “dream come true.”

“I would say the three words that I would use to describe it would be manifested, surreal and perfection because it was literally a moment that I manifested,” she said.

British designer Kelly Hoppen styled the interior of the first hull and has also created three designs for future owners to choose from. Described as “sophisticated and luxurious,” the open-plan living quarters offer sweeping, panoramic views, and multiple areas for entertaining. The main deck is adorned with a salon, a galley, a dining area, and a plush owner’s suite with a private terrace, while the lower deck is outfitted with five en suite staterooms and cabins for three crew.

The pilothouse isn’t the only singular feature on the 82, either. Pearl says the yacht is the only one of such a size to have a garage large enough to hold a Williams 395, a Sea-Doo Jet Ski, and other equipment. It is also the only one in its class to offer two aft deck configurations (Riviera or Veranda) to cater to different seafarers. Other highlights of the model include a foredeck lounge with large sun pads and a luxe flybridge with a dining table, wet bar, sun pad, and hot tub.

As for grunt, the yacht can be equipped with two MAN engines rated at 1,650, 1,800, or 2,000 horses. It has an estimated top speed of 33 knots and a cruising range of 287 nautical miles.

A true boutique builder, Pearl produces only a limited number of vessels annually to ensure quality and exclusivity. The 82 is one of four models in the lineup, alongside a 62, 72 , and 95 . The first 82 will debut at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival.

On Saturday, October, 28, the couple were photographed getting frisky at a Halloween party in Los Angeles, according to pictures published by the Daily Mail .

In November, they were reportedly “exclusive.”

In early November, an insider told Us Weekly that the Titanic star is “completely smitten” with Ceretti.

“It's going so well that Leo’s actually being exclusive,” the source continued. “Vittoria is all he thinks about.”

Referring to the pictures taken on Halloween weekend and the coziness between the two, the insider stated DiCaprio “doesn’t do that often.”

“He says she’s not only gorgeous, but super down-to-earth, and they have a ton in common,” they added. “She’s not intimidated by his fame at all—she even makes fun of it, ‘the model and the movie star.’ Leo finds it refreshing.”

As for the 20 year age gap, it “clearly isn’t an issue for him,” and DiCaprio “says [Vittoria] is an old soul.”

After Ceretti wearing a silver ring on her left ring finger sparked engagement talk, multiple sources told TMZ that DiCaprio had not proposed. Ceretti has had the ring since at least September 2022, before they began dating.

On Saturday, May 11, the couple were seen at a Rolling Stones’ concert in Las Vegas in Allegiant Stadium's VIP section for the band's “Hackney Diamonds” tour. The model was spotted with her arm around the actor, leaning over to kiss him throughout the concert. He was dressed in black with a baseball cap, while she wore a white T-shirt and black skirt. On Instagram, Ceretti shared several photos from the weekend, including shots of her in her concert outfit in a hotel room and video clips of the stage in which Mick Jagger performs “Paint It, Black” and “Sympathy for the Devil.”

In July, they were back in Los Angeles.

The couple were seen  on a dinner date in Los Angeles at popular celebrity hot spot Sushi Park on Friday, July 12. DiCaprio was dressed in black with a baseball cap and hoodie pulled over his head. Ceretti was wearing a black T-shirt with a graphic print and black pants. She had her hair up in a slick bun.
