Gave it 4 stars because we haven't got it to the water yet. Looks nice, assembly instructions could be more detailed for first time purchasers. Can't wait to sail. Grandkids will love it. Paid a little more than buying on Amazon but want to support small businesses. Others should do the same.

Hearns Hobbies uses Australia Post Regular and Express Services for online orders. On occasion, we may use a courier service such as TNT. Getting your goods to you safely and swiftly is of utmost importance to us. To ensure the secure delivery of orders to the correct recipients our carriers all require someone to sign for the consignments at the final destination.

DELIVERY COSTS AND TIMES:

Delivery charges and ETA depend on your location, how much you have purchased, and, what freight method you have selected. As a general rule, we aim for a 24-hour turnaround from the moment your order has been received to the order being shipped from our store. There are times when this may stretch out to 48 hours but that is generally a case of items being temporarily out of stock. The delivery service we use is provided by Australia Post and delivery times are only there as indicatives. Please note that the Express service is overnight for selected destinations; please refer to the Australia Post (AUSPOST) website for details.

WARNING: Shipping of dangerous goods is prohibited (Including: Nitro, Rocket Fuel, Fuel Tablets). Aerosol based products can be shipped only via Standard (Road) Shipping.

SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF AUSTRALIA (INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING)

We now ship worldwide and the shipping cost is calculated at check out.

NOTE:  Dangerous goods can not be shipped internationally. If all shipping charges are confirmed by you (the customer) then the outstanding costs must be paid for, then the products will be shipped through to you.

All international shipping by default does not come with insurance. If you would like to insure your product, please contact us beforehand. International Orders can still be cancelled, if at the receipt of the shipping costs email there is a change of mind due to costing.

AUSTRALIAN ORDERS:

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING LARGE ITEMS (1 Metre and larger): Due to restrictions in place by AUSPOST we have to send all items that are larger than 1m in size via courier instead, this may attract additional shipping costs. As such next day delivery won’t be possible or at least will be delayed by one day.

Orders by default are not insured. If you wish to ensure your delivery then please be sure to notify us via your order comments or email, in which case you will be charged the outstanding amount accordingly.

Hearns Hobbies reserves the right to upgrade the freight method to a courier service at no extra cost to the recipient if the selected method of freight is inappropriate.

Hearns Hobbies reserves the right to cancel an order if it deems the freight method is not appropriate to ensure the parcel arrives in an acceptable condition.

Please note that items greater than 5 cubic kg's CANNOT be shipped to PO Boxes. We must have a street address (please ensure this is correct as we are not held accountable for wrong entry of details) for any order totalling over the 5 cubic kg mark, or, any order greater than 1050 mm in length. As our carriers require a signature at the point of delivery it is a requirement that you provide Hearns Hobbies with a delivery address where someone will be pre-sent to sign for the consignment during business hours (9 am - 5 pm, Monday to Friday). Work addresses are often given by customers to make this process easier.

Hearns Hobbies and its suppliers accept no liability for any duties or taxes due upon the orders arrival into the customer's country. Each country has its own customs levy level so please be aware of this when placing international orders.

LOST BOXES:

If you believe a box has been lost in transit please call Hearns Hobbies with the order or invoice the number and a list of the missing items. A track and trace search will be undertaken and enquiries will be made with the relevant freight company to try and locate the missing box. A a claim number will be issued if the carrier does not show delivery within 10 days of the scheduled delivery date. If you purchased additional insurance credit will be issued for the missing merchandise when we obtain the claim number from the carrier.

MISSING PARTS:

Should you receive merchandise that is missing a part please contact Hearns Hobbies. We will ensure that you are sent the part from our stock as appropriate.

MISSING OR DAMAGED SHIPMENTS:

Please ensure that all boxes in your order are present and in a reasonable condition before signing for delivery. On occasion, carriers may deliver orders over two different deliveries dependent on the size of the order.

Please note that ground and air shipments can be assigned to separate trucks and may arrive at different times of the day.

Please do not sign for boxes with exterior damage. This will immediately invalidate any insurance for ‘Damaged Goods’ and immediately becomes the customer's property in its signed condition.

If the box has been delivered without the driver obtaining your signature, contact the carrier before opening the package.

The carrier will need to inspect the box and verify any damage before a refund or replacement can occur.

PRE-ORDER/BACK ORDERS ITEMS:

When placing pre-order items into your order, you automatically opt in for the option of free freight (if your order amounts to that of free shipping $100aud+), in which case you will receive all products at once when said "Pre-Order" items are stocked/re-stocked.

Note: In order to take advantage of the free shipping policy (for Australian residents), available and pre-order items will be shipped at the same time (once said pre-order items are stocked/restocked). Unless otherwise requested by (you) the customers, in which case standard shipping fee's for available and pre-order items (when pre-order items are available) will be incurred and must be paid for if the individual (or combined) value is less than the shipping threshold. What are pre-orders? Pre-orders, are an order for a product placed before it is available for purchase.

What are back-orders? Back-Orders allow you to place an order for a product, that is temporarily out of stock.

How much are pre-orders / back-orders? Prices may vary slighlty (from what was paid on the day of the order). Whilst we try to maintain the lowest possible price, factors such as supplier price and exchange rate fluctuations, could affect the final price when we receive it in store.

Note: Pre-orders could in some cases be a deposit price, without any knowledge of a final price from the Supplier or Manufacturer. In all cases you will be notified if there is a significant price change, from what was originally paid, before shipping.

How long do I have to wait for my pre-order / back-order? All orders will be shipped once stock has arrived and full payment has been made, with the exception of Manufacturer Release Dates on some Pre-order Products. Waiting time depends on many factors, which are mostly out of our control. They could be for example, Manufacturing delays (due to global pandemics), Supplier shortages, or shipping delays.

Why am I being charged for my pre-order/back-order, even though the product isn’t released/re-stocked yet? This is pre-payment for an item's payment and delivery costs that isn’t released yet to ensure as soon as it arrives your order can be fulfilled and sent out to you a.s.a.p. A perfect introduction to yachting the Joysway Orion V2 is easy to assemble and will have you sailing in no time. Not only does it look great in this bright colour scheme it really performs in the water too. A high quality 2 channel 2.4GHz radio system comes pre-installed for you, including the 36g sail servo and 9g rudder servo. The hull is moulded from tough plastic and the booms are made using strong lightweight fibreglass tubes.

A perfect introduction to yachting the Joysway Orion is easy to assemble and will have you sailing in no time. Not only does it look great in this bright colour scheme it really performs in the water too.

A high quality 2 channel 2.4GHz radio system comes pre-installed for you, including the 37 g sail servo and 9 g rudder servo. The hull is moulded from tough plastic as is the keel and rudder. The booms are made using strong lightweight fibreglass tubes and the ballast is cast from a zinc alloy then painted to match. Even the rigging has been done for you! Assembly is a breeze and all that is left for you to do is assemble the stand, attach the keel and ballast weight, install the rudder and add ‘AA’ batteries.

THESE INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD BE READ BY A SUPERVISING ADULT 2.4GHz RTR ORION V2 RACE-READY SAILBOAT Model No:8803V2

• This is not a toy. Assembly and operating of this boat requires adult supervision.
• Please take time to read the instructions carefully and completely before attempting to operate your model. This manual contains the instructions you need to safely build, operate and maintain your R/C sailboat.

4 x “AA” alkaline batteries for transmitter (not included) 4 x “AA” alkaline batteries for receiver (not included)

To order ORION V2 spare parts, use the part numbers in the spare parts list that follows.

Take boat stand fittings out of box and assemble them as photos shown.

Take the keel, ballast and rudder otut of box and assemble them as photos shown.

• Use the cord which attached to Silicone ring “SR1” to thread through eyelet on bottom of main boom bearing from back side to front side, then through eyelet on top of main boom bearing, then through eyelet in bottom left corner of mainsail, lastly attach it to eyelet on top of main boom bearing. Keep the distance between mainsail and main boom around 10mm.
• Use the cord which attached to Silicone ring “SR4” and through “SR5” to attach it to eyelet on bottom right corner of mainsail, notice the gap between bottom sail and boom tube is around 15mm. You could adjust the mainsail shape by moving the “SR4” position.
• Use mast fitting tube (longer side) to thread through bearing on main boom, insert mast fitting tube in main mast mount as shown. see page 6.
• Thread three mainsail luff rings through long mast. see page 6.
• Insert long mast in mast fitting tube (shorter side). see page 6.
• Thread metal backstay crane through mast head swivel and insert in short mast. Short mast joint with forestay fitting tube. see page 6.
• Insert short mast with forestay fitting tube into long mast. see page 6.
• Use S hook on mast head swivel to attach eyelet on mainsail tip. see page 6.
• Cut a length of Dyneme cord at around 1000mm,attach it to metal backstay crane eyelet, the other end of cord thread through a bowie’s two holes in proper order, through stern S hook then attach cord to the end eyelet of bowsie. adjust cord bowtie to pull cord tight and straight. see page 6.
• Move silicone ring “SR1” on main boom to pull main sail tight. you could adjust the mainsail shape by moving silicone ring “SR5” on main boom. Use 1.5mm allen key to rotate the brass compression strut to adjust the angle between main boom and mast. So that the main boom could pull the bottom right corner of mainsail tight. But remember not to pull mainsail too tight. see page 6.
• Use forestay cord loop to loop around jib weight shaft.
• Use “S”hook to attach to eyelet in bottom left corner of jib sail.
• Use the cord which attached to silicone ring “SR5” and through “SR6” to attach it to eyelet on bottom right corner of jibsail. notice the gap between bottom sail and boom tube is around 10mm. You could adjust the jibsail shape by moving the “SR5” position.
• Use S hook which is supplied in tool bag to attach the forestay cord with eyelet in forestay fitting.
• There is cord which is already attached to silicone ring “SR2” on JIB BOOM and thread through silicone ring “SR1” on JIB BOOM. Use the loop on the other end of this cord to thread through DECK EYE 1, use S hook which is supplied in tool bag to attach the cord loop with DECK EYE 2. This arrangement allows rigs to be changed quickly and easily. Now adjust bowsie on forestay cord and “SR2” position on JIB BOOM to pull jib sail tight and make sure jib boom end is around 10mm distance to mast.
• You could adjust the JIB SAIL shape by moving silicone ring “SR6” on JIB BOOM.

INSTALL 4 PCS “AA” ALKALINE BATTERIES IN YOUR TRANSMITTER

Ensure transmitter “POWER” switch is in the off position.

Slide off the battery door on the back of the transmitter.

Install 4 fresh “AA” alkaline batteries into the molded battery compartment of transmitter. Noting correct location (polarity + or -)

Re-install the battery door onto the back of transmitter. IMPORTANT NOTE: Leave the left control pad (throttle) in the neutral position before switching the transmitter ON.

Switch the transmitter ON. A beep will sound and the green indicator will flash.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Always switch on the transmitter before switch on the receiver and always switch off the receiver before switch off the transmitter.

Install 4 AA alkaline batteries into battery box of Orion:

• Now sail control stick (left stick) push down till the end, the sail servo pull cord tight. Pull out Switch rod to switch off receiver and switch off transmitter as well.
• Use cord loop on MAIN BOOM to thread through DECK EYE 3, DECK EYE 4 then attach to CLIP. Make sure MAIN BOOM is pulled as on the centerline of hull. If not, adjust silicone ring “SR2” and “SR3” to pull MAIN BOOM tight.
• Use cord loop on JIB BOOM to thread through DECK EYE 2 then attach to CLIP. Adjust silicone ring “SR3” and “SR4” on JIB BOOM to make sure rear-end of JIB BOOM is moved away from MAST at 25mm-30mm.
• Lastly stick the two pcs of cloth material deck patch to seal the deck on hull.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Always keep the cloth deck patch clean when you peal off the patch to exchange batteries. If you use the deck patch properly, it can be reused many times and can seal well the deck to keep hull watertight. If found the deck patch not sealable after many times use, please purchase new deck patch replacement (Part No.#880321)

The transmitter and receiver will automatically bind when the power is switched ON. NOTE: The transmitter and receiver must be within range during the binding process

Before sailing your ORION for the first time, Always switch on the transmitter before switch on the receiver and always switch off the receiver before switch off the transmitter.

Following the procedures to check the radio and sailboat’s function:

• ORION is supplied with 2.4GHz 2CH radio system. Please see following function of the transmitter.
• For sail control stick, when stick is in position A, accordingly, the main boom and jib boom are in the position of A as shown. When stick is in the position of B, accordingly, the main boom and jib boom are in the position of B as shown.
• You may also adjust the sail servo neutral by pressing the sail neutral position trim button up or down.
• For rudder control stick, rudder turn left when rudder control stick is pushed to the left. Rudder turn right when rudder control stick is pushed to the right.
• You may also adjust the rudder servo neutral by pressing the rudder neutral position trim button left or right.

SAILING THE ORION

Unlike propeller driven boats that you basically point and accelerate, sailboats present an interesting challenge. Sailing requires constant reaction to water movements, any wind gusts, and any wind direction changes. These reactions then require adjustment of the rudder and sails in order to find the best possible course. There is no substitute for actual “ on-the-water” experience and after your first couple of outings you may want to read through this manual again in order to help you to gain a better understanding of the “art” of sailing. While learning to sail, it is a good idea to pick up on as much sailing terminology as possible. This will make it easier to grasp some aspects.

How To Sail ORION

• Sail your ORION only in still bodies of water. Never sail your boat in running water such as streams or rivers, as it is easy to lose control of your boat.
• Do not sail ORION in heavy winds.
• Never attempt to swim after a stalled or stuck boat! Wait patiently for the wind currents to return the boat to shore.
• After running, remove the deck and allow the interior of the boat to dry out completely. If you neglect to do this, it may result in corrosion of the electronic components.

Convenient, midsize, and affordable, the Bancroft Orion V2 is the perfect introduction to RC yachts capable of operating in stronger breezes and larger bodies of water. Still easily stored in a car for a quick after-work sail, the compact 18.3” size belies its features and handling of a much larger yacht. The Orion V2 arrives carefully packed and semi-assembled, with masting and final rigging left to the buyer prior to the Orion being ready to sail. Simply install 4 AA alkaline batteries in the boat, 4 AA alkaline batteries in the transmitter, and the Orion is ready to enjoy a gentle breeze on a summer evening or the excitement of skippering an America’s Cup yacht.

Display this yacht on your mantle or enjoy it on the water with this functional RTR (Ready to Run) model. Delivered Ready to Run (RTR), the Orion V2 can be operating shortly after opening the box, using the included 2.4Ghz stick radio transmitter.
