Can We Bring More People Than We Planned?

If you unexpectedly end up wanting to bring more people than initially planned, it is sometimes possible for you to do so. Contact us, and we’ll make sure that it is alright. 

However, you can never bring more people than the boat you have chosen will allow. So, if the limit is 12 and you already have 12 people coming, you won’t be able to bring any additional guests. 

What Safety Practices Are In Place?

Anchor has  numerous safety practices in place on every one of our rentals. The first has already been discussed, as our limit on the number of people helps keep everyone safe. Besides this, our captains are instructed to follow our policy of “safety first… fun second” and, thus, will constantly be on the lookout for anything that could threaten the safety of your group. 

What If the Weather Is Bad?

Our policy states that our yacht rentals will not be canceled based on the weather forecast. They can only be canceled by the captain if they deem that the weather presents a safety hazard. In most cases, this means simply waiting out a patch of bad weather in favor of some good weather afterward. 

However, if the weather does get bad enough to warrant a full cancellation, we can reschedule your rental. To do this, we’ll issue you a voucher that you can use to book a rental of the same or less cost within 365 days.

We had an amazing time on the Duffy!! It drove really well, by far the nicest one we’ve ever rented. Chris was very friendly and helped us with around the Marina. You'll be extremely comfortable with multiple lounging areas on the yacht, including a high view flybridge and a comfortable bow cushion seating area. Connect your music with bluetooth to our sound system and set the vibe to your preference. Your crew will be there to provide the full luxury experience.

3 Hours - $1125

Cruise Marina del Rey harbor, Venice, Santa Monica, and see from a distance the striking cliffs of Malibu. If you have a specific request for route, just let your captain know. Regardless, we will be sure to show you the best scenery based on the day's conditions. You'll be extremely comfortable with multiple lounging areas on the yacht, including a high view flybridge and a comfortable bow cushion seating area. Connect your music with bluetooth to our sound system and set the vibe to your preference. Your crew will be there to provide the full luxury experience, with optional stewardess onboard to serve your refreshments and assist you as needed. The captain will be constantly on the lookout for wildlife and dolphins, of which there are many in the Santa Monica Bay!

4 Hours - $1500

A little longer to cruise, relax, swim, party, and enjoy! If you'd like to swim, we recommend a 4 hour charter. We can take you to one of multiple great swimming areas depending on the day's conditions. This might be near the Santa Monica Pier, or Playa del Rey Beach. Towels are included for your comfort, as well as paddle boards and floaties on request!

6 Hours - Malibu Voyage - $2250 M-Fri

Cruise to Malibu for an epic yacht day! Anchoring locations may be in front of Carbon Beach, or Paradise Cove. This is the best place in the Santa Monica Bay to enjoy the sea and sunshine. You'll have a beautiful coastal cruise to begin, passing the beaches of Venice, Santa Monica, and the Pacific Palisades. After arriving in Malibu, the captain will find a stunning cliffside protected anchorage. You'll anchor the yacht, throw out the paddle boards and floaties, and enjoy a couple hours of relaxing, sunbathing, swimming, and paddleboarding! Hope for dolphins on the way home!

Catalina Full Day Trip - $4500 M-Fri / $5500 Sat, Sun

Visit the premier destination for Southern California yachting! Choose either an Avalon town day, or take the yacht to secluded coves like Emerald Bay and others in the north of the island. In Avalon, wander the tiny streets with shopping and dining, or rent a golf cart to explore! Scuba dive the famous Avalon underwater park, or take a safari to view the famous Catalina buffalo. If you prefer to enjoy the yacht all day, we'll go to Emerald Bay for the crystal clear water and great snorkeling! Paddle boards included to enjoy the calm bays, or sunbathe on the bow! Alokoy - 50ft Yacht - 12 Guests

Experience a perfect day on the water onboard this classic American yacht built for the Pacific Ocean. Comfort, space and seaworthiness are optimized, especially with the recent addition of a hydraulic Naiad roll stabilizer system. On the aft deck is seating for 8, with a wet bar and mini fridge for entertaining. Inside is a spacious salon with beautiful wood flooring, comfortable furnishings, and a galley with staging area.

We understand not everyone has their sea-legs so if anyone tends to get motion sick or seasick, or if you aren’t sure, we recommend planning ahead and choosing a remedy you’re comfortable with before you board. A quick google search will help you understand the options; pills, patches, homeopathic, etc.

Your captain has full authority over the route and destination based on the conditions. While uncommon there are instances where weather and sea conditions may prevent the charter from sticking to the planned itinerary. If the weather or sea conditions are extreme, the captain will decide if it is unsafe to proceed and we will work with you to reschedule for another available day.

On an evening yacht charter party it is important to dress warmly. While the boats do have interiors that can keep deduce the wind factor an evening on the water can be chilly. So it is best to dress in warm layers.

Can I wear high heels to a party on a yacht?

High heels can be worn on some boats. On large party boats with 30+ guests it should be fine. It is not practical on the smaller boats as you will be walking around on different levels and materials and it can be dangerous. A better solution would be a pretty flat, a fancy sandal, or a short mule if you must.

What do I need to bring to a boat party?

For a boat party on a yacht it’s best to bring whatever will make you comfortable. Some guests like to bring an extra sweater, favorite snacks and drinks, sunscreen, sea sickness pills, and if it's a birthday party a gift for the host.

How soon in advance do I need to book a yacht for a party?

Our bookings are based on a first come first serve basis. To make sure your preferred date and time is available it's best to confirm the date and time as soon as possible.

How do I start a yacht party?

Gather everyone together and share a toast to get the party started. Then play the music and let everyone mingle around in the different corners of the boat. This will make a boat party come to life.

Am I expected to tip the captain and crew?

Gratuity is not included in the price and while not required it is always greatly appreciated. Any tips provided are split between the captain and crew.

Can I bring food and beverage aboard for a boat party?

Guests are welcome to bring food and beverage aboard.

Are refreshments included for a yacht party?

Refreshments are not included in the pricing. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and drink.

Is there a place we can go to swim during a yacht party?

We can offer swimming from our San Pedro & Long Beach departure locations.

What is a bareboat charter?

- A bareboat charter is a vessel that is leased by the owner to another person (a “charterer”) for a period of time without a captain or crew; - A bareboat charter is a vessel that is considered a recreational vessel and may not be subject to Passenger Vessel inspections by the United States Coast Guard; - Once the charterer takes possession of the vessel, the charterer becomes entirely responsible for the safe navigation of the vessel and its passengers; - The owner of the vessel is generally not responsible for any collision, personal injuries, and wages for the crew - The charterer is responsible for the vessel’s crew, fuel, insurance, any maintenance and repairs, and any liability associated with use and possession of the vessel; - The charterer must have the option of selecting and paying crew and may discharge the master or any crew member without referral to the owner; - The owner may require general levels of proficiency for the crew that is retained based on federal statutes; and - Charterers and passengers are solely responsible for making sure they understand and agree to the terms of any bareboat charter agreement.

Our docks are situated near deep water with easy access to the main channel in the Port of Los Angeles Harbor near San Pedro, California.

Most of the larger slips in our marina are outside slips with easy ingress/egress off of the main channel. Enjoy a wide open harbor vista a perfect location for viewing harbor events or simply relax on your yacht and watch the nautical world go by.
