The Best Yacht Charters You Can Book Around the World
Whether you’re looking for seven decks of entertainment, a family-friendly trip, or a diving-focused Caribbean voyage, you’ll find it here.
There are few experiences as luxurious and awe-inspiring as a yacht charter . You can explore the world at your leisure, spend quality time with friends and family in an intimate setting, and the service is second to none. We've rounded up the most exceptional new yacht charters to book around the world. They're sure to inspire your next voyage, whether you want to relax along the Amalfi Coast or explore remote corners of the globe.
In the yachting world, Loon is known for an exceptional array of water toys — perhaps the best in her class. There's a FunAir inflatable slide that goes from the third deck straight into the ocean, an in-water pool, and a luxurious 43-foot Everglades tender. You can hop on paddleboards, sea kayaks, Waverunners, or a Seabob to explore nearby islands and coves.
The adventurous can try kite surfing or Lift e-Foil surfboards, which seems effortless when you watch the crew fly past, but is actually quite challenging. Loon is also a scuba diver's dream. The crew has several master divers and dive instructors who can take you out each morning, and they have all of the equipment you need onboard. They can also certify new divers during the trip.
The 180-foot yacht has a staggering 1,100 gross tons of living space, elegant design, and an amiable and attentive crew. Loon has two master staterooms, including a unique one on the upper deck. It has wraparound windows that offer unparalleled views of the surroundings. There are two salons, including one with recliners and a projector for movie night, plenty of spaces for dining alfresco, and an oversized infinity-edge Jacuzzi with a wet bar nearby. Fancy a workout? Loon has a treadmill, exercise bike, rowing machine, and free weights in the beach club. You'll be hard-pressed to find better workout views than this.
The crew is absolutely lovely and specializes in setting up unique experiences. You might have a pizza night on board, a barbecue on a private beach, or sundowners at the Instagram-famous Loon Bar. The crew will even take you to a picture-perfect sandbar and serve you drinks as you loll in the warm water.
Loon is available for charter from IYC in the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Bermuda during the winter months and in the Mediterranean in the summer months. Rates begin at $325,000 a week plus expenses.
Nansen Explorer
For the ultimate Antarctica adventure, you can't beat a voyage aboard Nansen Explorer . This former research vessel has all of the technical features needed to safely explore one of the world's most remote and dramatic landscapes and, thanks to a retrofit in 2021, an ultra-luxe interior design that wouldn't look out of place in St. Tropez. For exploration, Nansen Explorer has an Ice-1A classed 236-foot hull and an ice-experienced captain and bridge team, which means she can go deeper into the ice than other polar-classed superyachts. There's a heli-deck with onboard fueling capabilities, so you can see the vast landscape from the sky, or even go heli-skiing. There are plenty of toys that allow you to get up close and personal with wildlife and nature, including kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, dive equipment, and Zodiacs.
The interiors are so stylish, modern, and well-appointed that you'll forget you're in the middle of Antarctica rather than at a swanky hotel. The ship originally accommodated 60 passengers, but now it holds just 12 guests in seven cabins, including an owner's suite and a VIP suite. Each cabin has large windows that showcase the stunning vistas outside the ship. The sumptuous Scandanavian-inspired decor features shades of grey and white, which reflect the surrounding environment. There's a cozy lounge with a bar and a fireplace, perfect for warming up after an excursion to see penguins or whales.
Nansen Explorer is available for charter from Plan South America in Antarctica. Rates begin at $340,000 a week and are all-inclusive.
Yachting in French Polynesia is always a blissful experience, but Dardanella takes relaxation to the next level with bespoke, wellness-focused charters planned by onboard wellbeing facilitator Ayumi Gallagher. The wellness experience is all-encompassing, including fresh, detoxifying food, mindfulness workshops, yoga sessions, Pilates, meditation, and massages alongside traditional yacht activities, like diving, surfing, and tender safaris exploring the pristine waters and nature of French Polynesia. The captain is also a qualified marine biologist and ecologist, so he's the perfect person to show you this unique environment. There are two dive instructors, 12 sets of dive gear, a Nitrox dive compressor, and underwater photography equipment, so you can capture the beauty underwater, too. As an expedition yacht, Dardanella is well-suited for exploring remote destinations. The 121-foot yacht was refit in 2018 and has five luxurious cabins.
Dardanella is available for charter from 37south in French Polynesia. Rates begin at $100,000 a week plus expenses.
With seven decks, there's something for everyone aboard Wheels . This massive yet elegant yacht measures 249 feet, weighs almost 2,000 gross tons, and has lots of standout amenities including a spacious cinema for eight guests, a huge aquarium, massage room with a dedicated onboard masseuse, air-conditioned gym, and the main salon converts to a disco complete with lights and a smoke machine for those late-night dance parties. The split-level master suite has panoramic views, a study, and plenty of space, and there are four spacious guest suites on the main deck. Outside, there are plenty of relaxation areas, including sunpads, a hot tub, several dining areas and bars, and an enviable water sports area with two Jet Skis, four wave runners, three seabobs, a luxurious tender, and plenty more toys. The crew is very active and can teach you to wakeboard, kitesurf, sail the new Hobie cat catamaran, or scuba dive. They can also lead yoga and fitness classes.
Wheels is available for charter from Fraser Yachts in the Caribbean. Rates begin at $680,000 a week plus expenses.
It's not uncommon for yacht charterers to "upgrade" their yachts year after year, chasing newer and bigger boats, which is makes Big Sky 's number of repeat bookings even more impressive. The 157-foot yacht has been a charter favorite since 2010, and she recently underwent a refit leaving her in immaculate condition. Big Sky can accommodate 10 guests in five staterooms, including a full-beam master that spans the width of the yacht, and there's plenty of room onboard to relax, including the main salon with large windows and a state-of-the-art TV system. The sky lounge is perfect for entertaining — it has an onyx bar and sliding windows that make you feel as if you are outside. Of course, if you do want to relax outdoors, there are three teak decks with space for dining and a large sundeck with a Jacuzzi, sun pads, couches, and a bar.
Big Sky is available for charter from Northrop & Johnson in the Bahamas. Rates begin at $180,000 a week plus expenses.
This glamorous new superyacht caused quite a stir when she debuted at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2021. It's rare for a brand-new superyacht of this size to be available immediately for charter, so book your trip on Tatiana early. This 263-foot yacht can accommodate up to 12 guests, who are guaranteed impeccable service from the 20 crew members. She has a great selection of water accoutrements and a stunning design with a large amount of interior space, including a deck dedicated to the owner's suite. There are also two VIP staterooms, four double cabins, and a twin cabin. While away any rainy days in the movie room or shooting some pool. Tatiana also has a fabulous beach club with a large bathing platform, bar, and outdoor lounge.
Tatiana is available for charter from IYC in the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Bermuda during the winter months and in the Mediterranean in the summer months. Rates begin at €775,000 a week plus expenses.
Nour El Nil Meroe
Step back in time aboard Nour El Nil Meroe , a traditionally inspired Egyptian yacht full of modern amenities and luxurious design. Meroe is available for charter through Black Tomato, a top luxury travel company known for its expertly curated trips with exclusive experiences and a focus on local culture. Meroe is styled like a classic dahabiya boat, with authentic decor featuring whitewashed walls and linens alongside Parisian decor details. The VIP cabins have floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Nile — we can't think of a more fabulous way to have breakfast in bed — while the other cabins have large windows. The shaded roof terrace has plenty of spots for lounging and dining alfresco, and there's a cheery indoor salon with red-and-white striped decor and cozy couches. On your charter, you'll slowly sail down the Nile River from Luxor to Aswan. You can charter just the yacht voyage or book the Ultimate Egypt trip , which includes adventures on land as well as the yacht charter (think: private tours of the pyramids, exploring temples, or taking a jeep safari around Siwa).
El Nil and the Ultimate Egypt trip can be booked through Black Tomato . Rates begin at $5,800 a person.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection
One of 2022's most anticipated travel launches is the new The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection . While this is technically a small-ship cruise, every element has been designed to make you feel as if you are aboard a superyacht. The fleet will ultimately have three custom-built yachts, each with 149 suites. However, in 2022, the collection will launch with their first luxury vessel: Evrima . The suites all have private terraces, which isn't something you can expect aboard even the largest superyacht. And of course, the amenities are incredible. It has a beautiful spa, stunning marina terrace (set up like a yacht beach club), an infinity-edge pool, a large gym, and plenty of entertainment. The dining options are seemingly endless, including the main restaurant, the Evrima Room, S.E.A., which features a menu by acclaimed chef Sven Elverfeld of Aqua, Talaat Nam, a Southeast Asian spot, and several casual options.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's inaugural voyage is set for May 2022 and pricing is dependent on the itinerary. Learn more about the trips here .

The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is due at the time of the final charter payment. Under MYBA terms, this sum is usually equivalent to 30 per cent of the total charter fee, but may be up to 40 per cent in some cases.
Intended to cover the operating expenses of a charter as explained under Charter Terms, such as fuel, food, drinks, port fees and ad hoc incidentals, the APA will be given to the captain before the start of your charter. The Captain will ensure that the yacht is fully fuelled and provisioned when you step on board. While an up-to-date summary of accounts can be requested at any time during your charter, a full set of accounts will normally be submitted by your captain at the end of the cruise. If, during the charter, the expenditure exceeds the sum already paid, additional cash funds will be required at once.
All outstanding bills from the yacht charter should be settled in cash or by bank transfer before your final disembarkation. Of course, any remaining credit at the end of your charter will be reimbursed to you in full. On request, transfer arrangements to and from the yacht can be made by Burgess or by the yacht’s captain, payment for which will be deducted from your APA.

Testimonials.
The service was incredible. I can’t recommend you guys enough. Captain George and Karla are great and the boat was beautiful. They did everything they could to make sure our group had an amazing time. (And they know where the dolphins are!) Thank you!
The yacht was gorgeous and included a warm cozy interior and modern exterior. Surprisingly spacious, and comfortably accommodated my party. We were free to be ourselves the whole entire cruise. Staff were superb as they allowed us to watch sunset and rest upon the buoys. Such a relaxing, party-like environment that allowed for some romantic elements. I would definitely do it again and again! My husband described his 40th as PERFECT!!!
Absolutely amazing company and wonderful experience. The responsive communication from the onset was outstanding. We used their service for a birthday party and dealing with them made the occasion easier. They way they communicated, and the clear instructions, and their quick responses to every text/email. The captains that worked with us, Sebastian and Kristy, were just so kind, helpful and accommodating, that it made our experience a nice and easy, non stressful time. I wish every business operated as well as they do. They were really exceptional.
Such a great experience! Kind staff and very professional! So clean and will rent with them again!
I book charters for my boss who is the owner of a hospitality company. His expectations are high, to say the least. MWC has always been very accommodating to work with and meets those expectations every time we book. The last time we booked, we forgot to bring snacks and they offered to go get snacks for us and bring them to us while we were out on the water, so we didn't lose any time on the boat. Super friendly, very professional!
I don’t know how anyone could give this company a negative review. I’ve literally never worked with a company more customer oriented like MWC Charter/Concierge. They were on the phone with me continuously answering any questions I had. They accommodated me last min and I mean literally two days before. Their pricing was super fair. You can tell that they have morale and they’re absolutely not here to rip people off. The yacht was clean and beautiful. The trip was long and our captain was so pleasant. Honestly it was super memorable and they’re definitely my go to recommendation. So check them out and trust me.. you’ll thank me 😉
I've used MWC Charters for multiple outings. It's been an excellent experience each time. They made the pre-sales process very easy by helping me find the exact type of boat I needed (relaxing day on the water, fishing, etc.). The pick-up was simple and even helped me unload from my car to the boat. The crew has always been great. The fishing crew was super knowledgeable and we caught more fish than we could handle. Overall, MWC makes everything easy for an awesome day on the water. Definitely recommend!
MWC charters was an incredible experience. The staff was amazing, the boat was well kept and beautiful! Everything went so smoothly. Had an amazing time and would absolutely charter through them again.

By: KRISTEN SHIRLEY Published: Dec 21, 2021 04:00 PM IST
There are few experiences as luxurious and awe-inspiring as yacht charters. You can explore the world at your leisure, spend quality time with friends and family in an intimate setting, and the service is second to none. We’ve rounded up the most exceptional new yacht charters to book around the world. They’re sure to inspire your next voyage , whether you want to relax along the Amalfi Coast or explore remote corners of the globe. By Kristen Shirley
In the yachting world, Loon is known for an exceptional array of water toys — perhaps the best in her class. There’s a FunAir inflatable slide that goes from the third deck straight into the ocean, an in-water pool, and a luxurious 43-foot Everglades tender. You can hop on paddleboards, sea kayaks , Waverunners, or a Seabob to explore nearby islands and coves.
The adventurous can try kite surfing or Lift e-Foil surfboards, which seems effortless when you watch the crew fly past, but is actually quite challenging. Loon is also a scuba diver’s dream.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find better workout views than this.
The crew is absolutely lovely and specialises in setting up unique experiences.
Rates begin at USD 325,000 (INR 2,46,01,151) a week plus expenses.
Nansen Explorer
For the ultimate Antarctica adventure, you can’t beat a voyage aboard Nansen Explorer yacht charters. This former research vessel has all of the technical features needed to safely explore one of the world’s most remote and dramatic landscapes and, thanks to a retrofit in 2021, an ultra-luxe interior design that wouldn’t look out of place in St. Tropez. For exploration, Nansen Explorer has an Ice-1A classed 236-foot hull and an ice-experienced captain and bridge team, which means she can go deeper into the ice than other polar-classed superyachts. There’s a heli-deck with onboard fueling capabilities, so you can see the vast landscape from the sky, or even go heli-skiing. There are plenty of toys that allow you to get up close and personal with wildlife and nature, including kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, dive equipment, and Zodiacs.
The interiors are so stylish, modern, and well-appointed that you’ll forget you’re in the middle of Antarctica rather than at a swanky hotel. The ship originally accommodated 60 passengers, but now it holds just 12 guests in seven cabins, including an owner’s suite and a VIP suite. Each cabin has large windows that showcase the stunning vistas outside the ship. The sumptuous Scandanavian-inspired decor features shades of grey and white, which reflect the surrounding environment. There’s a cosy lounge with a bar and a fireplace, perfect for warming up after an excursion to see penguins or whales.
Nansen Explorer is available for charter from Plan South America in Antarctica. Rates begin at USD 340,000 (INR 2,57,36,589) a week and are all-inclusive.
The captain is also a qualified marine biologist and ecologist, so he’s the perfect person to show you this unique environment.
Rates begin at USD 100,000 (INR 75,69,585) a week plus expenses.
With seven decks, there’s something for everyone aboard Wheels . This massive yet elegant yacht measures 249 feet, weighs almost 2,000 gross tons (1814369 kg), and has lots of standout amenities including a spacious cinema for eight guests, a huge aquarium, massage room with a dedicated onboard masseuse, an air-conditioned gym, and the main salon converts to a disco complete with lights and a smoke machine for those late-night dance parties. The split-level master suite has panoramic views, a study, and plenty of space, and there are four spacious guest suites on the main deck. Outside, there are plenty of relaxation areas, including sunpads, a hot tub, several dining areas and bars , and an enviable water sports area with two Jet Skis, four wave runners, three seabobs, a luxurious tender, and plenty more toys. The crew is very active and can teach you to wakeboard, kitesurf, sail the new Hobie cat catamaran, or scuba dive. They can also lead yoga and fitness classes.
Wheels is available for charter from Fraser Yachts in the Caribbean. Rates begin at USD 680,000 (INR 5,14,73,178) a week plus expenses.
It’s not uncommon for yacht charterers to “upgrade” their yachts year after year, chasing newer and bigger boats, which is makes Big Sky ‘s number of repeat bookings even more impressive. The 157-foot yacht has been a charter favourite since 2010, and she recently underwent a refit leaving her in immaculate condition. Big Sky can accommodate 10 guests in five staterooms, including a full-beam master that spans the width of the yacht, and there’s plenty of room onboard to relax, including the main salon with large windows and a state-of-the-art TV system. The sky lounge is perfect for entertaining — it has an onyx bar and sliding windows that make you feel as if you are outside. Of course, if you do want to relax outdoors, there are three teak decks with space for dining and a large sundeck with a Jacuzzi , sun pads, couches, and a bar.
Big Sky is available for charter from Northrop & Johnson in the Bahamas. Rates begin at USD 180,000 (INR 1,36,25,253) a week plus expenses.
This glamorous new superyacht caused quite a stir when she debuted at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2021. It’s rare for a brand-new superyacht of this size to be available immediately for charter, so book your trip on Tatiana early. This 263-foot yacht can accommodate up to 12 guests, who are guaranteed impeccable service from the 20 crew members. She has a great selection of water accoutrements and a stunning design with a large amount of interior space, including a deck dedicated to the owner’s suite.
Rates begin at EUR 775,000 (INR 6,62,06,700) a week plus expenses.
Nour El Nil Meroe
Step back in time aboard Nour El Nil Meroe , one of the traditionally inspired Egyptian yacht charters full of modern amenities and luxurious design. The VIP cabins have floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Nile — we can’t think of a more fabulous way to have breakfast in bed — while the other cabins have large windows. The shaded roof terrace has plenty of spots for lounging and dining alfresco, and there’s a cheery indoor salon with red-and-white striped decor and cosy couches. On your charter, you’ll slowly sail down the Nile River from Luxor to Aswan. You can charter just the yacht voyage or book the Ultimate Egypt trip , which includes adventures on land as well as the yacht charter (think: private tours of the pyramids, exploring temples or taking a jeep safari around Siwa).
El Nil and the Ultimate Egypt trip can be booked through Black Tomato . Rates begin at USD 5,800 (INR 4,39,035) a person.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection
One of 2022’s most anticipated travel launches is the new The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection . While this is technically a small-ship cruise, every element has been designed to make you feel as if you are aboard a superyacht. The fleet will ultimately have three custom-built yachts, each with 149 suites . However, in 2022, the collection will launch with their first luxury vessel: Evrima . The suites all have private terraces, which isn’t something you can expect aboard even the largest superyacht. And of course, the amenities are incredible. It has a beautiful spa, stunning marina terrace (set up like a yacht beach club), an infinity-edge pool, a large gym, and plenty of entertainment. The dining options are seemingly endless, including the main restaurant, the Evrima Room, SEA, which features a menu by acclaimed chef Sven Elverfeld of Aqua, Talaat Nam, a Southeast Asian spot, and several casual options.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s inaugural voyage is set for May 2022 and pricing is dependent on the itinerary. Learn more about the trips here .

While much of the cruise industry halted operations in the last year , it didn't mean that all sailings stopped. For families or pandemic-era bubble groups who wanted a sunny getaway on the water, a trend emerged: renting out entire yachts , complete with crew, for a new kind of custom sailing.
Exploring destinations around the world on a private yacht with your kids, and maybe another family or two, is both a luxurious and practical way to travel these days. The sea turns into your personal playground, and your captain will steer you to islets and beaches away from the crowds. On board, you can spend time together in a pleasant, contained environment—plus, no one has to cook. Bring on the movies and board games!
Here are our favorite family-friendly yachts available for private charter around the world.

Sailing in Style: The World’s Most Beautiful Yacht Charter Destinations
By Vlad Craciun
Updated on January 4, 2024
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or at least that’s what this famous saying tells us.
In our case, the beauty of a yacht charter destination is in the eye of the vacationer, and despite the impossibility of finding the most beautiful destination ever, subjectivity seems to lead most of us to a few traits we all seem to love in our vacations.
With that in mind, we’ve set to find 20 of the most beautiful yacht charter destinations in the world.
Sure, the first prerequisite of chartering a yacht is for the destination to have access to a sea or the very ocean. From there, your imagination and desires can run wild.
Crystal clear waters, white sand beaches and palm trees, otherworldly coastlines, remote, secluded stretches of sand and off-the-beaten-path lagoons? The world is your oyster, literally.
Despite our individual uniqueness, the most popular yacht charter destinations in the world show us that we’re all, or most of us at least, searching for the same things.
Below are a couple of yacht charter destinations that seem to enchant countless people all over the world. That only means there’s a high probability that you will like them too.
But no matter how much you’ll read about them below, there’s only one way of finding out. Just pick one and go. Enjoy.
There’s no way you haven’t heard of Hawaii . It’s one of the most well known vacation destination in the world.
Famous for its myriad islands, active volcanoes, lush nature, sandy beaches, and turquoise waters, Hawaii is high on many people’s bucket lists.
The many different islands in the archipelago create a yachting paradise, and there seems to be an island for everyone.
From the business of the Honolulu Harbor to the peacefulness of the remote island of Lanai, there’s plenty of options to choose from.
For whale lovers, Hawaii is an ideal destination. Humpback whales migrate to this part of the world to give birth, which creates a beautiful opportunity to observe some of the best moments nature has to offer.
- 19. St. Martin
Situated in the northeast of the Caribbean, the island of St. Martin is a very special place.
Half French, half Dutch, this destination offers the best of both cultures, and plenty of opportunities to explore its natural beauty both from a yacht and on the shore.
The island is teeming with silky white sand beaches, tropical scenery, waterfront restaurants offering delicious cuisine, and more than enough snorkeling spots.
- 18. Tuamotu Archipelago
Located somewhere in the middle of the southern Pacific Ocean, the Tuamotu Archipelago is probably one of the most secluded vacation destinations, no matter where you live in the world.
Part of French Polynesia and consisting of 76 islands and atolls, the archipelago is the largest chain of atolls on Earth.
With so many little islands to explore, there’s no way Tuamotu will disappoint you. There’s so much to explore and to marvel at that once there, you wouldn’t want to go back.
- 17. Thailand
Thailand is one of those world renowned vacation destinations, especially due to its incredible scenery and low cost of living.
But that’s not all, as the country has some incredible coasts that stretch south between the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea.
The unique seascape makes the country a high end destination for yachting, as there’s plenty of exotic locations to explore, from the incredible nightlife in Bangkok to tranquil natural spots and everything in between.
- 16. Galápagos
The Galápagos archipelago is a natural wonder best explored by boat.
Comprised of several dozens of islands and islets, Galápagos is home to some of the most impressive marine wildlife in the world, which is also the reason why it’s heavily regulated when it comes to visiting.
That is, yachting and boating there will have a strict schedule and route enforced by the government, but that’s the price to pay to protect such a wonderful environment.
With some of the most welcoming inhabitants and a paradise of more than 330 islands to explore, Fiji makes for a heavenly traveling experience.
The immersive traditions and way of life, spectacular sea life, underwater adventures, tropical rainforests, and dazzling lagoons make spending your vacation there a bliss.
- 14. The Bahamas
The Bahamas are another tropical paradise and one of the most cherished yachting destination in the world.
Everybody knows to expect the crystal clear waters, white sand beaches, or the lush vegetation, but more than everything it’s the laid-back lifestyle of the locals that makes the Bahamas a worthy destination, on or off shore.
- 13. Balearic Islands, Spain
Tucked in between the coasts of Europe and Africa, Spain’s Balearic Islands enchant travelers year after year with their ideal Mediterranean climate.
Luxurious, vibrant, and eclectic are some of the characteristics that make these islands so popular.
You’ve heard of course about the party paradise of Ibiza, or the incredible natural beauty and rich diversity of Mallorca, but maybe you should give the lesser known Menorca, Formentera or Cabrera a try.
Perhaps navigate through the even smaller islands as well for some off-the-beaten-path experiences.
- 12. Canary Islands, Spain
Somewhere off the western coast of Africa lie a group of stunning volcanic islands, the Canaries.
Belonging to Spain, the Canary Islands offer some of the most otherworldly landscapes you’ll ever get to see, thanks to their very diverse volcanic topography.
And the best way of exploring the islands’ various contrasts is traveling between them by yacht.
On your way between the islands, be on the lookout for dolphins, whales, and other marine animals that inhabit those waters.
- 11. San Blas Islands, Panama
Off the coast of Panama, there is an archipelago like no other.
Called the San Blas Islands, it consists of extremely small patches of land with nothing but sand, palm trees and bungalows on them, surrounded by turquoise waters.
There’s really nothing to do there but relax or go boating here. There are no roads, no cars, and nothing has to be done.
- 10. Saint Lucia, Caribbean
Considered one of the best Caribbean destinations for luxury yachting, Saint Lucia also represents the best possible starting point for a prolonged sailing exploration of the Caribbean.
Its convenient position between Barbados, Martinique and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines makes it a prime spot.
In terms of needs and wants, Saint Lucia has it all, on and off a yacht.
From panoramic sights in Marigot or Rodney Bay to the tropical charm of the island’s nature, or the iconic Petit Piton and Gros Piton, the island’s most prominent peaks, there’s no way you could go bored.
When it comes to luxury yachting amenities, there’s nothing you could possibly miss while floating around the island.
- 9. Whitsunday Islands, Australia
Situated along the northern coast of Australia, the Whitsunday Islands offer no less than 74 choices to make, all of them within the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.
From snorkeling and diving adventures to water sports on the surface and exploration of some of the deserted islands and stretches of sand in the archipelago, there’s plenty of opportunities for an unforgettable vacation.
In all those 74 islands that comprise the Whitsundays, there are eight main ones, offering high end resorts with luxury amenities, national parks and breathtaking seascapes.
The eponymous main island is home to one of the purest white sand beaches in the world, the Whitehaven Beach.
- 8. Indonesia
Indonesia is another one of those obvious vacation spots, well regarded especially for its unique culture.
Beyond its marvelous beaches and lush vegetation, it’s the charm of its people and their way of life that attracts foreigners so much.
If that excessive attraction and the possibility for swarms of tourists flocking to the country’s beaches is something you might not want to witness, there are good news.
Indonesia is home to over 17,000 islands, which is quite a huge number to choose from. And since we’re speaking of yacht chartering, the options are practically countless.
The Scandinavian peninsula is a unique place in the world, filled with wonders both on the land itself and up in the sky.
In the northernmost part of this peninsula sits Norway, a country with a coastline so mesmerizing that no matter how much you’d explore it, you wouldn’t get enough of.
That’s the reason why Norway is tremendously popular with yacht charters. With a plethora of available bays and anchorages, this is the perfect heaven for yachting and boating.
And then there’s the fjords, meandering and magnetic and absolutely stunning.
When you’re tired of sailing around the various fjords, go north and explore a little bit of the Arctic Circle. Oh, and while in Norway, don’t forget to sleep with your eyes open to catch the northern lights.
- 6. French Rivera
Some would advise Monaco alone, but we’d rather tell you to go explore the entire French Riviera. It’s not that big anyway, but Monaco is simply way too tiny.
While Monaco is home to some of the most luxurious and exclusive man-made places in the world, the French Riviera boasts with breathtaking coastal scenery.
It’s a place where you could enjoy sunshine all year round, and relax to your heart’s content. Should you desire something rugged and wild and away from civilization, the French Riviera has it.
If you’re into vibrant lifestyle and cosmopolitan resorts, there are plenty of those as well.
Exceptional cuisine, lovely nightlife, or the peaceful-palm-trees-swaying-in-the-wind kind of atmosphere, you can’t go wrong with the French Riviera.
- 5. The Seychelles
Seychelles is another incredibly well known yachting destination, and while it may be crowded at times, it does have tremendous opportunities for every kind of soul.
From the tropical climate to the one of a kind culture, the archipelago is a blissful paradise. Comprised of no less than 115 islands located in between Madagascar and the Somali sea.
While the main attractions are the islands of Praslin, La Digue, and Mahé, should you want a little bit more privacy, there’s countless little islands that go under the radar of most travelers.
There’s a National Marine Park, and several natural reserves waiting to enchant those who love wildlife, and plenty of harbors, marinas, and moorings with impressive amenities for even the largest of yachts.
- 4. The British Virgin Islands
A long time favorite of the yachting world, the British Virgin Islands are known for having the most yachts than any other location on the globe.
That can be both a blessing and a curse, depending on the type of person you are.
Sure there’s plenty of yachting advantages if everyone wants to go there, but if you’re more of an introvert, these may not be for you.
The consistent trade winds, line of sight navigation opportunities, and a plethora of sheltered anchorages are just some of these advantages.
The nature is also full of mesmerizing places, and activities offered on-shore are rich as well.
- 3. The Croatian Coast
It’s not for nothing that Croatia and its coast are some of the most well regarded travel destinations in the world.
There’s countless opportunities to choose from, especially if you choose yacht charter as your means of exploration.
The coastline is sublime, but the medieval towns and ancient villages spread along its length aren’t at all inferior to its natural beauty.
The wilderness on the Dalmatian Islands, the remoteness of the Kornati archipelago, or the fine dining and drinking in the west and south Istria are only some of the things you could enjoy while cruising the Croatian Coast.
- 2. The Italian Coast
From Sicily to Portofino, the Italian Coast has plenty of memorable locations to sail to.
The country’s many spectacular islands, beach clubs only accessible by boat, or the unbelievable rich history and culture have made Italy and its coast one of the most popular charter destinations in the entire world.
There are literally no simple choices to be made there, since there are too many wonderful options for a vacation there.
The thing with the Italian Coast is that once you’ve been there, you’ll keep wanting to go back again and again.
Greece might seem another one of those overrated vacation destinations, but we’d say this country is actually underrated when it comes to all the possibilities it offers.
Sure, everybody has heard of Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete. Instagram is full of still perfection from there.
But did you know that Greece, apart from the mainland, which is not to be ignored at all, features between 1,200 and 6,000 islands and islets begging to be explored?
Interestingly enough, that is only an estimate, because no one knows for sure how many there are.
Once you grasp the true immensity of that number, you might realize that it’s only the likes of Crete or Santorini that have become overrated. But please don’t tell this to anybody else.
We bet you’d like to keep it that way as well
- Final thoughts
So you’re getting ready for your next yacht charter vacation and you don’t know what destination to pick. Oh well, we don’t know either. All of them are beautiful in their own way.
Maybe go on the path of least resistance, pick the nearest one to you, or the cheapest, and just go. After all, traveling, or yachting for that matter, is less about the destination and more about the journey.

Luxury mega yachts of the world.
Since the days of around-the-globe sea voyages, yachts have been a symbol of the luxury lifestyle and the millionaire’s ability to get away from it all. Today, yachts have come a long way. With swimming pools, Jacuzzis, outdoor theater systems and other luxury amenities for on- and off-board fun, yachts are now superyachts worthy of Grace Kelly, the Kennedys and superstars like Beyonce and P. Diddy. Even if you aren’t a world leader or business magnate, you can still enjoy the luxury life with a VIP yacht charter for a romantic dinner, an important party or a week surrounded by azure waters. Here are six luxury mega yachts that will make your journey unforgettable.
Built in 1965 and refitted in 2008, Sherakhan is a modern luxury mega yacht that combines classic details with high-tech amenities. With 13 staterooms and suites, this impressive boat accommodates 24 guests comfortably.
When music mogul P. Diddy takes to the seas, he chooses the ultra -luxurious Solemates, a 200-foot vessel decked to the hilt with elegant amenities. From the outside, Solemates is a streamlined work of art that makes a big impression at sea or in the harbor. The ship’s six beautifully appointed staterooms and opulent communal areas are bound to impress all of your guests. Rates for this award-winning Lurssen luxury mega yacht start around $600,000 per week plus expenses.
Constructed by the famed yacht builders at Feadship, this sleek superyacht has a bright, airy interior with seven staterooms that accommodate 12 passengers. The 265-foot vessel is outfitted with a plethora of luxury amenities plus all kinds of fishing, diving and watersports equipment to make any voyage more enjoyable. At $1.1 million per week, Air is one of the most exclusive charter yachts on the sea as well as the largest luxury mega yacht built by the masters at Feadship.
Formerly called Shark, Martha Ann is another famous vessel built by the German yacht maker Lurssen. This 230-foot superyacht sails the Mediterranean and Caribbean carrying up to 12 guests. Although not as large as some luxury mega yachts, Martha Ann is impressively spacious and has amazing architecture. Six decks linked by a glass stairway and elevator provide ample space for a sea-bound vacation . Take an excursion off the ship on a wave runner or jetski, or embark on a mini voyage on the yacht’s sailboat. A trip on the Martha Ann will only set you back $819,000 per week.
Selected by Beyonce during her visit to Dubai, the Asfar is a discreet luxury mega yacht that embodies the concept of understated elegance. The 98-foot vessel is smaller than some but has plenty of room for 10 guests in its five suites. This sleek motor yacht was built by Dragos in 2006 and has been seen cruising through the pristine waters of the Persian Gulf.
Christina O
Luxury and history are part of Christina O’s charm. This impressive vessel is a second home for the rich and famous. The one and only Aristotle Onassis entertained his way around the world on this massive 325-foot yacht. Aside from the famed Onassis master suit, this 1943 Canadian Vickers yacht has 16 deluxe cabins with room for 34 guests. The newly refitted yacht has a dance floor, elevator, pool, library, grand piano, outdoor bar and all manner of water sports equipment for full-on fun. 16 Yacht Charters That Make for a Strangely Affordable Family Vacation
Posted: December 11, 2023 | Last updated: December 12, 2023
While a yacht may be the first thing that pops to mind when you think of the ultra-wealthy, chartering one might not be as expensive as you think. When you're splitting the costs between several family members or friends you are paying for transportation and stay and it can make sense financially.
You can also keep money in your wallet by selecting an older vessel or taking charge of sailing yourself (hiring a crew always costs extra).
So let’s take a look at options that may be within reach for people who aren’t living paycheck to paycheck but aren’t brunching with the Kardashians either.
Editor's note: prices are subject to change and may vary depending on the time of the year.

San Antonio motor yacht
The San Antonio is a luxury motor yacht measuring 146 feet in length that was built in 2018. This huge vessel is capable of accommodating 36 guests in 18 cabins.
The cost to charter it starts at $21,000 per week plus expenses, not including a crew of eight (which we recommend).
Divide the cost by capacity, and that’s only $583 per person per week to start. That’s practically unbeatable for a boat of this size, allowing you to make other savvy moves with your money .

Virginia Mia motor yacht
Constructed in 2001 (with several subsequent refits), the Virginia Mia is another luxury motor yacht that’s 95 feet in length.
Custom-designed by Nuvolari Lenard, this vessel can sleep eight guests in four cabins as well as an additional crew of four.
Still, thanks to the age of the yacht, the cost of chartering starts at $15,000 plus expenses per week, or just under $2,000 per guest sans crew.
Nautilus sailing yacht
White motor yachts are convenient and luxe, sailing yachts promise a more traditional experience.
At nearly 125 feet, the Nautilus is a large option styled by Robert Delus. Built in 2008, it sleeps 10 guests in five cabins. At this size, you'll likely need a crew of six.
The cost to charter this beauty starts at $17,500 per week sans expenses, again just under $2,000 per person — which really isn't bad for all you're getting.

Aegean Clipper sailing yacht
The Aegean Clipper is another sailing vessel, this one built all the way back in 1999 — which translates into cost savings for you.
The yacht is another biggie at nearly 135 feet. With 11 cabins, the boat can accommodate up to 24 guests plus five crew members as needed.
In total, your group will have to shell out a minimum of $13,000 plus expenses per week — just over $379 per person. That's a great deal, comparatively speaking.
Silver Fox expedition yacht
If you're looking for something a little smaller that can go the distance, the Silver Fox expedition yacht might be for you.
Built in 2009, the 72-foot yacht accommodates six guests in three cabins for a more intimate experience. There's room for a crew of two if you need their expertise.
With a starting cost of $16,500 per week, the Silver Fox will run each person over $2,700 per week, but the small group may be worth it.
Tivoli expedition yacht
Traveling with a group of the same size but want more length and a bigger crew?
The Tivoli expedition yacht, constructed in 2001 and remodeled in 2010, can fit four crew members. This stunner is just over 90 feet long and can take you on those long hauls.
Yes, it will cost more at $25,000 per week, or over $4,100 per person. But if you can afford it, it’s a dream come true out on the open water.
Retire Sooner: Take this quiz to see if you can retire early
Shangri-La classic yacht
Classics are classics for a reason, as they stand the test of time. Such is the case with the Shangri-La, a vintage yacht sure to take you to that magical place.
This vessel sleeps six in three cabins and promises to be child-friendly. The Shangri-La was constructed way back in 1965, and it is 82 feet long with space for three crew members.
A week on this rig will cost you $16,500, or just over $2,700 a pop.
Sai Kung classic yacht
Another vintage beauty, the Sai Kung classic yacht was born in 1975 and got a makeover in 2015. That updated this 79-foot vessel that can sleep nine people in four cabins.
Be sure you’re a nautical whiz, as there’s no room for additional crew here, but that will only save you money.
All told, the Sai Kung will set your group back $17,500 per week, just under $2,000 per person.
Glorious open yacht
Outdoor yachts are designed for those who truly want to live outside, which you can do easily on the Glorious.
This sporty 72-footer is ready to help you dive, scuba, and more, with room for six guests in three cabins. You can bring a crew of two for extra help, of course.
Built in 2007 and remodeled nine years later, chartering the Glorious will run you $16,500 per week, again $2,700 per person.
9 nearly secret things to do if you fly Southwest
Speedy T open yacht
Looking for a bigger open yacht that’s perfect for swim buffs? Charter the Speedy T, a vessel that’s 80 feet long and primed for dips in refreshing ocean waters.
Like many of the yachts on this list, it accommodates six guests in three cabins and has room for three crew members.
All told, one week on this sleek ship — built in 1994 and renovated in 2011 — is $19,500 before expenses, translating to $3,250 per head. But the adventure promises to be unforgettable.
Etoile Magique catamaran yacht
With extra stability even at higher speeds, catamaran yachts like the Etoile Magique are great options for adventure.
This 80-foot vessel is roomy for its size, with room for 16 guests in eight cabins. There’s space for a three-person crew, too.
Constructed in 2004 and remodeled a decade later, this is a budget-friendly adventure in the making. At $18,710 per week before expenses, that shakes out to a bit over $1,100 apiece.
Fuerte 3 catamaran yacht
Meaning “strong” in Spanish, the Fuerte 3 catamaran yacht — built in 2004 and renovated in 2010 — offers a more intimate experience than the Etoile Magique, with space for nine guests in four cabins.
On the smaller side, at 67 feet, you can bring two crew members along if you need them. The price tag for one week is around $22,000, or just over $2,400 a pop. This vessel is best in shallower waters.
Astrape sport fishing yacht
If your idea of the perfect vacation is sport fishing, this boat is for you. The Astrape sport fishing yacht comes with top-of-the-line fishing equipment so you can catch your dream fish.
Built in 2008 and remodeled in 2016, the 76-foot vessel sleeps eight in four cabins. It also has room for three crew members.
On the pricier side at $29,000, a week will cost each person nearly $3,700 — worth it if you can show off that once-in-a-lifetime catch, though!
Barefoot sport fishing yacht
Giving us some real Orca energy, the Barefoot sport fishing yacht was built in 2006 — much later than that famed vessel from "Jaws."
The 64-foot boat is designed for fishing in shallower waters, perfect for you and five friends who will share three cabins. Two crew members can fit, too.
This yacht is cheaper than the Astrape at $17,500, so six folks will pay just under $3,000 a head per week.
Prenses Lila gulet yacht
Gulet yachts are known for their tall masts, ample deck space, and Turkish origins — perfect for a Mediterranean voyage.
To that end, the Prenses Lila is an excellent option for groups of 18. At 114 feet with eight cabins and space for five crew members, this boat beckons.
You can charter Prenses Lila — built in 2009 and remodeled in 2009 — for $17,500 per week in September.
Dreamland gulet yacht
The second gulet yacht and the final boat we’re covering is Dreamland, which will surely take you there.
Constructed in 2006, 12 guests can sleep in six suites on this 105-foot vessel as well as five crew members.
You can book Dreamland for around $26,000 in high season. Divide that by 12, and you land on about $2,200 per person. That might require some financial fitness , but yachts like this don’t come around every day.
Bottom line
Spending your days sunning and swimming aboard a luxurious yacht may seem like an out-of-reach proposition, but we’re here to tell you it’s possible.
In fact, with planning and savvy budgeting, you can score your dream seafaring adventure. You can even use your favorite credit card to book and earn travel rewards .
Traveling by charter yacht is also more environmentally friendly than flying, which means you can feel good about your sailing vacation.

An “expert fisherman” has been missing off the North Carolina coast for nearly one week – and authorities fear the worst after his boat was discovered drifting without any sign of its owner.
Jeffrey Kale, 47, was last seen around 4 p.m. on Saturday, when he left the Southport Wildlife Boat Ramp, the US Coast Guard explained.
A video posted on Kale’s Facebook page at 3:50 p.m. showed him leaving the dock area by himself.
A second round of searches was called off around 8 p.m. Wednesday night, the officials announced .
Authorities had reinvigorated the rescue effort after Kale’s 32-foot Cape Hope center console boat was found 83 miles off the coast of Wrightsville Beach on Tuesday, the Coast Guard said in a press release .
There was fishing gear on the boat, but no sign of Kale.
“We offer our sincere condolences to the Kale family during this difficult time,” said Cmdr. Corrie Sergent, Sector North Carolina deputy commander.
“Saving lives at sea drives our rescue crews to train and operate every single day with the hope to bring people home safely, which is why making the decision to suspend a search is truly one of the hardest things for our personnel to make and we do not take it lightly,” he added.
“We are grateful to the various Navy assets, commercial assistance, and multiple good Samaritans who have also assisted in the search.”
Over the last several days, rescue crews in the air and the sea logged about 100 combined man hours looking for Kale, the Coast Guard noted.
The effort was also aided by “multiple good Samaritan boaters,” the release stated.
Just a few days before he vanished, Kale, of Clover, SC, shared a photo of the boat parked on a trailer, writing that he was set to take a fishing trip with his son on Sunday to ring in spring break.
A few weeks earlier, Kale – who was described as an “expert fisherman” by police – had also posted a complaint about spring break not lining up with ideal fishing weather.
“The wind always blows the first 2 weeks of April,” he noted in the post.

You Can Help Migrating Fish Traverse a Dutch Canal By Ringing This Digital ‘Doorbell’
The live stream from the Netherlands, which lets viewers notify a boat lock operator when fish need to be let through, has become a popular pastime for people around the world

In 2020, ecologist Mark van Heukelum was strolling through Utrecht in the Netherlands, when he noticed that fish had congregated in a canal on one side of a 200-year-old boat lock, writes the New York Times ’ Callie Holtermann. Since boats do not usually travel through the city’s canals in the spring, the lock hadn’t been opened, and the creatures were trapped behind it.
“In the early spring, when the water gets warmer, some fish species migrate to shallower water, and they swim right through the center of Utrecht looking for a place to spawn and reproduce,” ecologist Anne Nijs tells BBC Wildlife ’s Melissa Hobson.
But the lock cuts off the animals’ progress—and waiting near it puts fish in a life-threatening position. When fish are stuck in the canal, predators like grebes and cormorants can more easily snatch them.
To help fish migrate safely during the canal’s quiet season, Nijs and van Heukelum came up with an innovative solution: the fish doorbell (or de Visdeurbel in Dutch). Launched in spring 2021, the webpage features a live stream from an underwater camera, allowing viewers worldwide to check for fish waiting at the closed lock—then, they click a pink button on the site when the animals appear on screen.
Each time a user “rings” the doorbell, the service snaps a picture of the fish and sends it to a team of ecologists. After enough fish are waiting, they notify the lock’s operator that the gate should be opened.
Nijs and van Heukelum worked with Utrecht’s government and local water authorities to establish the doorbell strategy.
“We live in a country which is partly below sea level. And we build a lot of dams and dykes and locks, which is great, because it keeps our feet dry. But at the same time, we create many, many obstacles for fish,” van Heukelum tells NPR’s Weekend Edition Saturday .
Now in its fourth year of operation, the doorbell usually runs between March and late June . With predators more active during the daytime, the website recommends visiting the live stream at night to spot fish swimming in the safety of darkness.
When the doorbell first launched on March 29, 2021, many Utrecht residents thought it was an April Fools’ joke. But now, it has become widely popular. This year, the fish doorbell has had roughly 1.2 million unique users since March 1, and its viewers have rung the doorbell more than 40,000 times.
“Some people are obsessed by it, and we receive a lot of fan mail,” Nijs tells BBC Wildlife .
While tuning in from the website is ideal, as that is the only place viewers can click the doorbell, the stream is also available on YouTube. The website can only host about 950 streamers at once, so any additional viewers get directed to the YouTube video.
Wildlife live streams, from cheetah births to beluga whale migrations , are often popular online for their educational and entertainment value—and the fish doorbell is no different.
“Somebody who had been very depressed and anxious reached out to me and said that the fish doorbell was the only thing that … could make her feel calm and distract her from difficult thoughts,” Nijs tells Scientific American ’s Riis Williams. “It really is so special for people to knowingly watch something with 900 other people around the world at the same time.”
Watching animals online can lead people to care more for wildlife, according to a 2018 study published in the Journal of Ecotourism . A pair of researchers investigated whether viewing live streams of brown bears at Alaska’s Katmai National Park and Preserve yielded positive environmental sentiment. They wrote that “the ability of online viewing to generate a positive emotional connection to bears was observed.”
With the doorbell in particular, people around the world can have a direct impact on the wildlife they see in the live stream—which is a large part of its success, Lisa Brideau , a climate policy specialist in Canada, tells the New York Times . But with the live stream’s legion of existing users, she suggests that people look for other ways to help wildlife closer to home.
“The doorbell is covered,” she tells the publication. “Where else can we put this energy?”
