Best Case For Phantom 4

Here are some Phantom 4 backpacks that we wanted to review to give all users of the Phantom 4 a perfect chance to feel as if they have the means to get their device from point A to B, while making sure that it stays secure and stationary.

Topbest Toshare Series Traveling Phantom 4 Backpack Case

best phantom 4 case

Click To Shop or Read Reviews This carrying backpack for DJI Phantom 4 is made of foam and nylon, with a size of 48cm and 35cm, and a very, very lightweight feel that users are raving about. It only weighs about .5 kg, and has ample room for the Phantom 4 and remote control inside.

The top part of this DJI Phantom 4 backpack is padded, and there are very smooth rounded corners and nylon piping along the edges of the bag. The case measures 18 by 14 by 9 inches, and on the face of the bag, the pocket is an 11 by 18-inch zippered pocket. The top of this case also has a 9 inch long, 1-inch wide nylon webbing loop that is ideal for hanging or dragging.

Serving the purpose of protecting the Phantom 4 well, the foam cutouts here fit the charger, any extra flight batteries, connection cables, and the propeller blades fit perfectly in the front zippered compartment. The foam also has openings cut for the controller and phone holder, 3 batteries, a charger, and even extra blades. The organization of this pack more than satisfies many users, and its lightweight design allows it to score high among many. This represents one of the best choices for a Phantom 4 case.

Case Club Waterproof DJI Phantom 4 Wheeled Case

best carrying case for phantom 4

Click To Shop or Read Reviews This is the best Phantom 4 case for those that definitely want their goods protected at all costs, and it snugly fits the DJI Phantom 4 with many of its accessories. It has a lifetime warranty, and is completely water and dust-proof. Inside you can tote the drone, tablet, 5 extra batteries, controller, extra propellers, silica gel canisters, and memory cards.

This case is fully airline approved, and checks through the security gate with ease. The foam is closed cell, and military grade polyethylene for easy cleaning. It was designed by very avid fliers with engineering backgrounds, and nearly every inch of space is used to safely pack your favorite flying machine.

Also optimized for very humid environments, you can dry out the canisters in an oven if they ever happen to get very saturated. The long pocket right next to the P4 drone is where you can store propellers, and the two accessory pockets on the right and bottom have plastic dividers that you can remove if needed. A softer egg-crate foam pad in the bottom supports the gimbal and camera; this is a very solid case that could be the best phantom 4 case out there, period.

Camera Vault DJI Phantom 4 Travel Case-Black

p4 travel case

Click To Shop or Read Reviews This is a case that is highly-regarded for holding the DJI Phantom 4 in transit with propellers on, and also the 5 batteries not placed within the drone. There is a lifetime warranty on the seahorse case, and inside you can hold a 10″ tablet, transmitter, charger, accessories, SD cards, and Polar Pro filters.

The product dimensions are 24.1 x 16.6 x 11″, and the item weight is 15.7 pounds. Although not billed exclusively as such, it is definitely a waterproof case. The batteries are known to sit a bit deep, just due to the way the case is cut, but one definite plus is being able to close this case in its entirety while the propellers are still on the drone.

Users that were toting a Google Nexus 7, P4, 4 extra propellers, the charger, remote control, SD card holder, and 3 batteries along with USB cables, the DJI tablet cover hood, and a microfiber cloth still have empty slots, and report safe and snug travels with the entire unit. This is all-around a bit heavy of a case, and so the wheel feature really helps with that element when you are out in the field or struggling to get from A to B. This is the optimum choice for a DJI P4 Case.

Best Backpack For Phantom 4

Manfrotto Phantom Backpack for DJI Quadcopter Drones

best phantom 4 backpack

Click To Shop or Read Reviews Another addition to the Phantom 4 backpack club for drone toting, this offering has custom designed dividers that have the option to be specially fitted for the DJI drones and accessories. A unique coating applied to the fabric makes it resistant to moisture, and the Manfrotto’s CPS has been engineered and laboratory tested to guarantee that the highest level of protection and shock resistance for your DJI P4 is present when it really counts.

There is a separate compartment for laptop transport, and the fold-out protector creates a safe barrier between the very dry and safe inside of the bag and the outside, which may be soggy after braving the elements. The Camera Protection system has been specifically engineered and laboratory tested to guarantee the very highest level of protection and resistance to various shocks where it really makes a difference, and this is truly a tool for professionals that are constantly roving on their location carrying the DJI P4.

A nature photographer that reviewed this unit really enjoyed carrying his drone in pack instead of hard case, and the fact that all of the equipment fit in the bag. This Phantom 4 case also comes with an attachment to fasten a tripod right off the back, and the dividers are very well-padded and constructed. Comfortable for even the longest of hikes, this is a sturdy and solid purchase for any brand new drone owner. This is a solid addition to our list reviewing the best Phantom 4 case.

We hope this article was a great means for you to locate the best Phantom 4 case for your liking, and figure out which is the best one for you to store your most prized possession in. Lugging this piece of equipment around should be an easy task, and we wanted to present you with the best Phantom 4 case options that would fit your new-found beauty within the best confines possible!

DJI Phantom 4 Backpacks and Cases

DJI Phantom 4 Backpacks and Cases

Joseph Flynt

The DJI Phantom 4 is the favored drone for photographers who love to take aerial photographs. These can be for both commercial and personal purposes. Drone pilots describe the DJI Phantom 4 as a cool looking drone with an elegant design. Although considerably flashier than the DJI Mavic Pro with it’s magnesium and titanium body, it is still lightweight and the construction gives it the perfect balance of rigidity.

In order to get the best backpack or case for your DJI Phantom 4 you have to consider the following:

  • Whether you want a rigid frame
  • The front and back cameras
  • Delicate advanced features like the sensors
  • Slightly larger accessories like the propellers, charging hubs, and batteries

By considering all the above you will be able to find the backpack or case that will accommodate the drone with ease and keep it safe at all times. Here are some of our best picks for your DJI phantom 4.

Top 4 Backpacks

Manfrotto d1 backpack for dji phantom 4.

manfrotto-dji-phantom-backpack

Product dimensions: 22 x 9 x 13.3 inches

Weight: 4.2 pounds

Customer rating: 4.6 out of 5 stars

Manfrotto is a well known brand for carrying high end camera equipment and now they have added to their repertoire a high performing drone bag. The material used on the backpack is damage resistant and can withstand harsh climates. It is compact and lightweight which means you can comfortably carry it with you on a steep trail.

This backpack has been designed with the Phantom drones in mind and so it can fit the DJI Phantom 4 with absolute precision. The interior will give way to accommodate the nuances of the Phantom 4 keeping it snug and stable within.

13 Best Phantom 4 Pro Cases

It’s no exaggeration to call the DJI Phantom 4 Pro an amazing bird. It has everything you expect from an excellent aerial camera. From high definition camera sensors, great range of control, to a speed that’s more than just decent. To make sure this precious gear stays in its best condition, you’re gonna need some special storage. That’s why in this article, we’ll recommend several Phantom 4 Pro cases, Phantom 4 Pro bag, and DJI Phantom Pro Plus bag.

Of course, we don’t need to remind you that good-quality Phantom 4 Pro cases will provide the extra layer of security you need. They’ll protect your valuable drone from dust, friction, to moisture damage. So, without much further ado, let’s take a look at some of the best alternatives to a Phantom 4 Pro bag and a DJI Phantom Pro Plus bag that are currently available on the market.

How to Choose Best Phantom 4 Pro Cases

Before we start with the reviews, it would be a good idea to know what to expect from Phantom 4 Pro cases. Thus, it’ll be easy for you to decide which Phantom 4 Pro bag or DJI Phantom 4 Pro Plus bag that best suits your budget and needs. So, here are three factors you should consider when looking for a protective case for your valuable drone.

Since most Phantom Pro 4 cases are designed to provide an extra layer of security, you’ll want to look specifically at what kind of protection they offer. If you’re planning to go somewhere wet, it would be a good idea to get a case with great water resistance. But if you’re only planning to take some casual footage across town, a case with a couple of padding will be more than enough. The point is, choose a product with features that you’ll actually use. That way, your hard-earned money won’t go to waste.

Next, think about how much storage space it offers. A regular Phantom Pro 4 bag is generally able to accommodate a drone, a couple of spare batteries, and some smaller items such as USB cables, straps, and more. For those who frequently travel with laptops and tablets, we recommend getting a bigger bag, as they generally provide dedicated slots for both devices.

Convenience

Since you’ll probably be wearing it for a long time, look for the DJI Phantom 4 Pro Plus bag that offers the ultimate comfort. See if the bag comes with padding on the back. Also, make sure that it comes with a few extra straps, so you can get a really snug and steady fit. If you’re not sure about this, meet more experienced drone pilots and ask for some suggestions. We also highly recommend taking a look at some of the reviews online.

Is it OK to Fly a Drone in the Rain?

In general, drones aren’t built to be waterproof. Thus, you shouldn’t expose them to intense water. However, there are some drone systems that are resistant to water to a certain degree.

How High Can a Drone Fly?

A drone isn’t supposed to be flown more than 400 feet in the air. This is a rule that has been widely agreed upon by drone pilots around the world, both amateurs and professionals. In addition, please note that this regulation applies to both recreational and more advanced drones.

Is Phantom 4 Waterproof?

No, it’s not. Phantom 4 doesn’t have any waterproof capabilities. That’s why you’ll need the Phantom 4 Pro bag or the DJI Phantom 4 Pro Plus bag to transport your aircraft safely. It’s also recommended to get an extra cover, especially if you’re somewhere wet.

Nanuk DJI Phantom 4 Waterproof Hard Case

Looking for something that was made with professional standards in mind? Then Nanuk Hard Case will definitely not disappoint you. This is one of the most excellent-quality Phantom Pro 4 Cases featured in this list. It promises the ultimate in protection, with impact-resistant materials, waterproof capabilities, and multiple layers of foam on the inside. And even better, there’s plenty of room to accommodate a few extras, such as a 7-inch tablet, spare propeller, charging cable, and four battery packs.

In short, it’s a really tough protective case. If you consider yourself a professional drone pilot, the Nanuk Hard Case should definitely be on your arsenal. It’s strong, well-built, and made from high-quality materials.

Case Club Compact Waterproof Hard Case

The Club Compact Waterproof Hard Case will be great for those who want to travel lightly. As the name describes, this product offers a compact design as its main appeal. It’s significantly smaller than most Phantom 4 Pro cases, but that doesn’t mean it lacks protection. To start with, this case is guaranteed to be 100 percent water and dust repellent, making it a remarkable option when you have to shoot some footage in harsh environments. Next, you got a military-standard internal foam layer. It’s cut with great precision to fit the drone’s shape and is guaranteed to keep the whole thing in place.

As for storage, you shouldn’t find it difficult to fit a couple of the Phantom Pro 4 accessories here. Although the space is quite limited, this tiny case can accommodate no less than six spare batteries, propellers, a transmitter, and a tablet up to 7 inches. So, the next time you’re looking for a case that’s compact and offers a lot, look no further than this!

It comes in a small package and can offer a lot more than you expect

  • Tough injection-molded plastic
  • O-ring seal
  • Built-in locking latches
  • Military-grade foam
  • Nothing, as far as we know

HUL Premium Aluminum Carrying Case

We have to admit, the first time we saw the HUL Premium Aluminum Carrying Case , we thought it was absolutely huge. Luckily, it’s the right size to be classified as a carry-on. So for those who frequently travel by air, this is definitely good news. As for the material, you’ll get strong aluminum frames, supported by hard plastic panels. We know, this isn’t the strongest substance available around, but for the price, you’re getting something more than just good.

Another thing that makes us fall in love with this case is the storage space. Compared to most Phantom 4 Pro cases, this one can accommodate so many. You should be able to fit your drone easily, as well as the controller, spare batteries, and transmitter. If there’s anything we have to complain about this product, it’s the battery slots. They make the batteries sink too deep, so it can be a little difficult to get them out.

A decent aluminum carrying case, with plenty of storage space for all of your drone accessories

  • Aluminum frame
  • Pre-cut compartments for transmitter, charger, and FPV monitor
  • ABS plastic panels
  • Lightweight and easy to carry
  • The battery slots are too deep

Case Club Waterproof Phantom 4 Hard Case

Compared to the previous Case Club products featured on this list, the Case Club Waterproof Phantom 4 Hard Case has a few minor differences. First of all, of course, it’s 100 percent waterproof. Apart from that, the case comes with silica gels to reduce moisture in the internal compartment. However, the best part lies on the outside. If you take a closer look, you’ll notice that this case has two wheels on the bottom and an easy-to-grip handle. Both are great recipes for easy transportation, whether it’s by air or road travel.

For protection, this product is one of the Phantom 4 Pro cases that uses military-standard polyethylene foam to protect its internal parts. It can absorb all kinds of impacts, so your drone should stay safe during any kind of trip. To conclude, this is a formidable product. If you’re looking for something great for demanding situations, this one is definitely worth considering.

With dual wheels and an ergonomic handle, this tough case allows you to have easy transport wherever you go

  • 100 percent waterproof
  • Wheeled case
  • Airline approved for checked luggage
  • The foam is rubbing one of the rotors

Bangcool Protective Carrying Case

If you don’t plan to spend a lot on your Phantom 4 Pro cases, then the Bangcool Protective Carrying Case would be a nice option to consider. As a drone suitcase, this product is arguably quite basic. There’s no waterproof capability or pockets on the top liner to hold a few smaller items. But on the bright side, this case is so light and incredibly well-made. It’s great if you’re just planning on walking out to the park, taking a few shots, and returning home after a few minutes.

Of course, you can take this case on a weekend trip or vacation. But since it’s not as tough as other products, we don’t recommend it. However, if the situation forces you to do it, you don’t need to worry because this product comes with a pretty decent locking mechanism. It’s also more rugged than most suitcases.

A fairly basic case, great if you’re not planning on spending a lot or looking for something to bring along on a local trip

  • Ultra-secure foam molding
  • Heavy resilient aluminum frame
  • Extra slots for remote control and four batteries
  • 12-month warranty
  • The hinges are quite weak

Pelican 1650

There’s probably no name you can trust more than Pelican when it comes to hard cases. This brand has years of experience producing cases of all sizes, types, and capabilities. And for the best protection for your drone, we recommend the Pelican 1650 . With dimensions of 28 x 17 inches, this hard shell is just as good, if not superior, as all the Phantom 4 Pro cases on this list.

And since this is a non-specific product, you can always create your own layout. Say goodbye to the struggles of fitting your drone to pre-cut foam. With the Pelican 1650, you’re the master. Get complete freedom in managing all your gear! Interested in getting one? Based on our last check, this beast will cost you around 290 bucks.

A hard shell case that allows you to create your own layout

  • Polymer o-ring
  • Automatic Pressure Equalization Valve
  • Pick N ‘Pluck foam
  • Stainless steel reinforced padlock protectors
  • It’s hard to pull when you have to climb stairs

Smatree Hard Shell Backpack

The first time we unwrapped the Smatree Hard Shell Backpack , we could tell right away that this was a quality product. This Phantom 4 Pro bag has precise and strong stitches. It’s made from really tough nylon material. There are layers of padding that are strategically placed to make your back feel comfortable when wearing them. And for storing smaller items, Smatree includes a few extra pockets. There’s even a mesh pouch for storing a water bottle or additional gear.

You shouldn’t have any trouble fitting your Phantom 4 Pro in here. There’s also some space for storing accessories such as four batteries, a twilight beacon, wind meter, filters, and dust-off aerosol. If anything is bothering us, then it’s probably the color. We personally think it would be nice if it came in another neutral color, so the bag won’t heat up easily when exposed to the sun.

A nice drone bag with ample of space and pockets, great for those who like to carry a lot of stuff

  • Large main compartment
  • Upper back special compartment
  • Two external zippered pockets
  • Compatible with styrofoam case
  • We wish it was available in a more neutral color

CasePro Carry-On Hard Case

For air travel, a wheeled case should always be your top pick. It’ll allow you to maneuver between the gates with ease, so your whole trip will be more enjoyable. And for this reason, we recommend the CasePro Carry-On Hard Case . It was specifically designed to transport your DJI Phantom 4 Pro quickly and safely. There’s a large internal compartment, which should be more than enough to keep the bird in, plus some extra space for other small accessories. And as the name implies, this is one of the Phantom 4 pro cases that’s sized according to airline regulations. It should count as a carry-on on most commercial airlines.

For maximum protection, CasePro uses high-density foam on the inside. It comes with a custom-cut lid, so no cheesy egg foam crate here. As for weight, the overall case measures around 13 pounds, which makes it perfect for any weekend trip.

It comes with wheels, which allows you to get great mobility while at the airport

  • Carry-on size
  • Waterproof wheeled case
  • Fits all accessories
  • Custom cut high-density foam
  • It’s made of plastic

Hobby Ace Carrying Case

Hobby Ace Carrying Case is everything you expect from the best Phantom 4 Pro cases. It’s able to hold all stuff safely. There are so many slots in the internal foam. Plus, the build quality seems pretty solid, although we wouldn’t dare to stand on this. We also appreciate the design of the compartments, which allow you to store the drone without having to remove its propellers.

With that being said, it doesn’t mean that the Hobby Ace Carrying Case is a flawless product. For those who want to put a label on this case, you’re out of luck. It’s because you won’t be able to find a smooth surface here. Our advice, buy a luggage tag instead. Apart from that, the case only has one handle. We personally thought it would be nice if there were a couple of attachment points for a carry strap.

An acceptable carrying case, with a nice internal foam to hold the drone without removing the propellers

  • Heavy-duty aluminum frame
  • High-density foam interior
  • No need to remove the propeller
  • Full warranty
  • There are no attachments for a carry strap

DJI Multifunctional Backpack

Whenever you’re looking for a great solution to transport your drone, the DJI Multifunctional Backpack will be one of the most excellent alternatives. This DJI Phantom 4 Pro Plus bag has great construction. The zippers, seams, and interior are all assembled to a high standard. We’re also impressed by the internals, which feature two detachable bags. You can use them to store some small accessories, like memory cards, cables, or even a couple of snacks.

Overall, the DJI Multifunctional Backpack may not qualify as Phantom 4 Pro cases. But when it comes to protection and storage, it’s just as good as any other product on this list. If anything is stopping you from buying this bag, then it’s probably the carry handle. For an official product, we expected better quality. However, this shouldn’t be a massive deal-breaker. If you want to give your drone an extra layer of protection, this bag will do just that.

A drone bag made to a high standard, with premium quality zippers, seams and a spacious interior

  • Large inner space
  • Can be carried as either a shoulder bag or backpack
  • Six outside pockets
  • Tear-resistant fabric
  • The carry handle could be better

MC-Cases Carrying Case

It’s no exaggeration to call the MC-Cases Carrying Case the perfect drone case. It’s built specifically to accommodate your aerial camera and all its valuable accessories. The high-density foam is precisely cut to provide an excellent fitting. There’s a cushion to ensure both the gimbal and camera remain stable, even without a cover. Apart from that, the case has roomy compartments. It should have no problem holding no less than six batteries, a power supply, an iPad, and memory cards.

Another thing that makes us love the MC-Cases Carrying Case is the exterior. It’s made of molded plastic, a strong yet lightweight material. Furthermore, there are four exterior claps that are extremely secure and easy on the fingers. And last but not least, the case looks so cool when carried around. So, if you’re planning on looking for Phantom 4 Pro cases in the near future, this one definitely deserves a spot on your watchlist.

Furthermore, the entire construction was built to be as strong as stone. You could even say that this hard shell is as solid as a tank! Seriously, this product offers all the best protection you get for your drone. If you’re planning to record some footage in a harsh environment, this will be an excellent option.

Moscow parks – leisure, nature and historical

Moscow is the most green megapolis in the world. There are over a hundred parks and green spaces like gardens, squares and boulevards. You will definitely bump into a few of them wherever you go. Whether you are interested in memorial, historic parks, parks of wildlife or you just want to have a calm break from the speedy city life – city parks have something special for everyone.

Moscow leisure parks

The leisure Moscow parks are undoubtedly the most popular and famous with the locals and travelers. Today such parks provide a great number of exciting entertainments for Muscovites and city guests, adults and children.

The Gorky Park

Enjoy many sports in the park: volleyball, handball, football or a peaceful jog around the beautiful surroundings.

Zaryadye Park

Opened in September 2017, Zaryadye is the youngest on our list. Located just a few minutes away from Red Square, it includes various activities like the floating bridge with its thin V-form extension, an ice cave, also concert hall and an amphitheater. The entire territory of the park was divided into four zones of Russia: forest, steppe, tundra, and the floodplains.

The park mostly consists of pristine forest, dotted with old summer pavilions, ponds and quaint little stone bridges. Aptekarsky Ogorod (Apothecary Garden)

Aptekarsky Ogorod (Apothecary Garden) is one of the oldest gardens in Moscow. It was founded in the XVIII century by Peter the First (great Russian emperor). A larch that he planted himself still grows in the garden, so it’s more than 250 years old. At the time of its foundation, it was a garden with herbs and medicinal plants and was used as an educational center for doctors. Today there are the orangery with its tropical palms, the carp pond, and the immense trees that dot the landscape and turn wonderful golden shades in the autumn. Several restaurants and cafes work here making it a very nice spot for relaxation no matter what season it is. You can book a special tour or join the guided excursion group.

Losiny Ostrov

Losiny Ostrov (Elk Island Park)

Losiny Ostrov (Elk Island Park)

Losiny Ostrov (Elk Island Park) is located at the north of Moscow. It covers 22 km from the west to the east and 10 km from the north to the south and it’s one of the most beautiful national parks in Moscow. Two rivers, Yausa and Pechorka begin here. Serebyany Bor

phantom 4 bag

Serebyany Bor (Silver Forest)

Serebyany Bor (Silver Forest) is a famous pine forest in the west of Moscow. The park has 230 forms of plant life, and is also home to watersports complex, providing a lot of activities for visitors. The layout of Serebryany Bor is unusual, as it is located on an artificial island between a meander in the Moscow River and a channel. There is an artificial lake, the Deep Gulf and picturesque Bezdonnoe (Bottomless) Lake in the depths of the forest. Serebryany Bor’s beaches are the cleanest in the city and very popular among Muscovites. On weekends it is difficult to find a free spot here, especially because a whole range of services are offered to visitors, from simple deckchairs to catamaran and yacht rides. Driving is prohibited on the territory of the island so be ready to use trolleybus to reach the entrance.

Botanichesky Sad

Greenhouse of Botanical Garden

Greenhouse of Botanical Garden

Main Botanical Garden of The Russian Academy of Sciences is the largest and most famous is Moscow. The garden is a real museum of nature with a very rich (more than 18000 types) collection of plants. The park was founded in 1945 at the place of the 17th century Apothecaries’ Gardens. The garden’s collection is turned into botanical expositions, made with use of modern receptions of landscape architecture. Here you can see a tree nursery, a shadow garden, hothouse complex, collection of flowers, a rosary, exposition of coastal plants, garden of continuous blossoming, Japanese garden and expositions of cultural plants and natural flora plants. The biggest part of Garden is the Tree nursery occupying the space of 75 hectares. About 2 thousand wood plants grow here. Another big exposition of the Garden is nature Flora, divided into six botanic-geographical collections: European part of Russia, Caucuses, Central Asia, Siberia and Far East. Pride of the Main Botanical Garden is the collection of tropical, coastal and water plants, which is considered as the best in Europe. The Japanese garden, a great model of Japanese landscape gardening art has a 13-level stone pagoda of the 18th century, stone Japanese lamps, ponds, falls and streams, tea lodges and more than 100 species of the most character Japan plants. It is especially decorative in spring, during Oriental cherry blossoming and in fall, when foliage blazes in crimson colors.

Moscow historic parks

Historic nature parks and estates once were the mansions of the Moscow aristocracy. At that far times the estates were outside the Moscow city limits, but after the city expansion and urbanization, they became easily accessible.

Kolomenskoye

Kolomenskoe

Kolomenskoye Museum and Park

The chief attraction of the park is undoubtedly the stone Church of the Ascension of the Lord. It was constructed in 1532 by order of Tsar Vasily III to commemorate the birth of his son and heir, Ivan the Terrible. But there is a lot more to see in the park: the pretty Church of the Icon of Our Lady of Kazan – with its bright azure domes and plenty of gold. Further into the park there is a charming Church of the Beheading of St John the Baptist, built by Ivan the Terrible to mark his coronation.

Kuskovo

Kuskovo Park

Kuskovo Park is one of the oldest country estates in Moscow. It was given to General Sheremetev by Peter the Great in 1715, but was left to fall into neglect before being plundered by Napoleon’s troops in 1812. Nowadays the estate has been restored to its former glory and is a good example of Russian 18th Century imperial architecture. The palace is a fine and rare example of wooden neoclassicism. It was completed in 1775, and the rich interiors remain unchanged since 1779. It includes a room hung with exclusive exquisite Flemish tapestries, an abundance of silk wallpaper and an impressive collection of 18th century European and Russian paintings. The palace looks onto the lake, which is surrounded by smaller pavilions: pretty Italian, Dutch and Swiss Cottages, Blank’s Hermitage and the old Orangery, where the State Ceramics Museum is located now, an extensive and absorbing collection of porcelain from the 18th century to the present day. On the other side of the lake is a large wood popular with local cyclists and joggers.

The Moscow Kremlin

The churches inside the Moscow Kremlin are the Cathedral of the Dormition, Church of the Archangel, Church of the Annunciation, and the bell tower of Ivan Veliki (a church tower).

The five-domed Cathedral of the Dormition is considered the most famous. It was built from 1475–1479 by an Italian architect and has served as a wedding and coronation place for great princes, tsars, and emperors of Russia. Church services are given in the Kremlin’s numerous cathedrals on a regular basis.

The Grand Kremlin Palace was the former Tsar’s Moscow residence and today it serves as the official workplace of the President of the Russian Federation (Vladimir Putin seems to have bagged that title for life) .

St. Basils Cathedral

The interior of the church surprises most people when they visit. In contrast to the large exterior, the inside is not so much one large area, but rather a collection of smaller areas, with many corridors and small rooms. There are 9 small chapels and one mausoleum grouped around a central tower.

Visiting the inside is like walking through a maze, there are even small signs all around the cathedral tracing where to walk, and pointing you in the right direction! The walls are meticulously decorated and painted with intricate floral designs and religious themes.

The Alexander Garden was one of the first urban public parks in Moscow! The garden premiered in 1821 and was built to celebrate Russia’s victory over Napoleon’s forces in 1812!

The park is beautiful and well maintained with paths to walk on and benches to rest on. The park contains three separate gardens: the upper garden, middle garden, and lower garden.

The Alexander Garden

Located in the upper garden, towards the main entrance to the park is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with its eternal flame. This monument was created in 1967 and contains the body of a soldier who fell during the Great Patriotic War!

The park stretches along all the length of the western Kremlin wall for about half a mile. Due to its central location in the city, it’ll be easily accessible when you’re out exploring The Red Square.

It provides a bit of relief from the city’s high-energy city streets. Bring a picnic lunch, go for a walk, or just sit and people watch, this is one of the best Moscow sites to wind-down and relax!

Whether you’re spending one day in Moscow, or more, safety is an important thing to keep in mind when traveling to a big city! Overall, Moscow is a very safe place to visit. However, it is always recommended that tourists take certain precautions when traveling to a new destination!

The police in Moscow is extremely effective at making the city a safe place to visit and do their best to patrol all of the top Moscow, Russia tourist attractions. However, tourists can still be a target for pickpockets and scammers.

Moscow has a huge flow of tourists, therefore there is a risk for pickpocketing. Simple precautions will help eliminate your chances of being robbed. Stay vigilant, keep your items close to you at all times, and don’t flash your valuables!

If you’re planning a solo Moscow itinerary, you should have no need to worry, as the city is also considered safe for solo travelers, even women. Stay in the populated areas, try and not travel alone late at night, and never accept rides from strangers or taxis without a meter and correct signage.

The threat of natural disasters in Moscow is low, with the exception of severe winters when the temperature can dip below freezing! Bring a good, warm jacket if you visit in Winter.

However, please note that Russian views on homsexuality are far less accepting than those in Western Europe. Likewise, Non-Caucasian travellers may sadly encounter racism in Russia .

Don’t Forget Your Travel Insurance for Moscow

ALWAYS sort out your backpacker insurance before your trip. There’s plenty to choose from in that department, but a good place to start is Safety Wing .

TALLINN, Estonia (AP) — A drone attacked a skyscraper in central Moscow early Tuesday for the second time in around 48 hours, damaging the building’s facade and further underscoring the Russian capital’s vulnerability. Russian authorities accused Ukraine of staging the assault.

An adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy tweeted that Moscow “is rapidly getting used to a full-fledged war,” without confirming or denying Kyiv’s involvement.

Russian officials have claimed that the repeated attacks on the capital region reflect failures in Ukraine’s counteroffensive to recapture Russian-occupied territory. Zelenskyy said over the weekend that “the war is gradually coming back to Russian territory,” but he stopped short of taking responsibility.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said it shot down two Ukrainian drones outside Moscow and jammed another, sending it crashing into a skyscraper and damaging the building’s facade. The attack happened in a business district of high-rise office buildings known as Moscow City, west of the Kremlin.

FILE - People gather at the beach area of the Black Sea, in Balaklava's bay, a part of Sevastopol on the Crimean Peninsula on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015. The Crimean Peninsula's balmy beaches have been vacation spots for Russian czars and has hosted history-shaking meetings of world leaders. And it has been the site of ethnic persecutions, forced deportations and political repression. Now, as Russia’s war in Ukraine enters its 18th month, the Black Sea peninsula is again both a playground and a battleground. (AP Photo, File)

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the drone crashed into the same building that was damaged Sunday in a similar attack. IQ-Quarter, located 7.2 kilometers (4.5 miles) from the Kremlin, houses multiple government agencies, including the headquarters of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The mayor said the attack on Tuesday did not result in any casualties.

It wasn’t clear why the same building was hit twice in a row. In both attacks, the Russian military said the drones that hit the skyscraper were jammed before crashing, which elicited questions from even the staunchest supporters of the Kremlin.

Margarita Simonyan, chief editor of the state-funded TV channel RT, said in a social media post that “a drone hitting the same tower for the second time in a row, where three federal ministries are located, at least requires explaining the comments that the electronic warfare downed them all.”

Asked about how protected the Russian capital is, given that supposedly jammed drones hit the same building, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov redirected the question to the Defense Ministry, saying only that “the threat exists and measures are being taken.”

Sobyanin said the drone that struck the building Tuesday hit the 21st floor, one of the floors housing the Economic Development ministry. Photos from the scene showed several panels of glass missing, exposing the charred insides of the building. According to the mayor, 150 square meters (about 1,600 square feet) of the building’s glass facade were damaged.

Russian news agency Interfax cited Darya Levchenko, an adviser to the economic development minister, as saying that the ministry’s staff worked from home Tuesday while damage to the office was assessed.

The Russian military also said Ukrainian forces tried to attack two of its warships in the Black Sea, using maritime drones. Three drones targeted two patrol vessels, Sergei Kotov and Vasily Bykov, 340 kilometers (210 miles) southwest of the Russian-controlled city of Sevastopol on the Crimean Peninsula , the Defense Ministry reported. All three drones were destroyed, the report said.

The governor of the Sevastopol region, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said a drone was shot down about 10 kilometers (6 miles) east of the city on Tuesday evening, causing a brush fire.

The attacks on Moscow and Crimea, which Russia illegally annexed from Ukraine in 2014, follow a deadly Russian missile strike on Kryvyi Rih , Zelenskyy’s hometown in central Ukraine.

Monday’s strike partially destroyed a residential building and killed seven people. Dozens more were wounded.

Russia’s land and sea border with Ukraine spans more than 2,200 kilometers (1,400 miles), meaning that much of the line separating the two countries is not covered by defense radar, which creates an opening for drones.

“Depending on where they are launched from, if there is a way to get through the initial line of defenses, then there will probably be a very poor ability to track them in real time,” said professor Justin Bronk, an expert in military air power and technology at the Royal United Services Institute, a defense think tank in London.

The most advanced defense systems around Moscow “are typically optimized for ballistic missile defense and are looking at targets and objects which are coming in at extremely high speeds and from very high angles,” Bronk said.

Unlike ballistic missiles, drones can fly low and slow. That presents a challenge for radar systems, which scan higher altitudes and filter out slow-moving objects such as birds.

In other developments Tuesday, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, with Iranian-made Shahed drones , according to Kharkiv Gov. Oleh Syniehubov.

One drone struck a three-story building at an educational institution in the Saltivka district, partially destroying the top two floors of the building, as well as the roof. No one was inside at the time.

Three more drone strikes hit the area of a sports complex in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. A two-story building in the complex was partially damaged, and a 63-year-old security guard was wounded, according to Syniehubov.

Russian forces shelled the city of Kherson and hit a medical facility, according to regional Gov. Roman Mrochko, killing a doctor and wounding one nurse.

“A young, talented doctor was killed, who was on his first day of work after internship. It was his first working day, which ended without even starting,” Tetiana Karchevych, Kherson region health department head, said at the site of the attack.

Ukraine’s presidential office reported Tuesday morning that at least 12 civilians had been killed in the country over the previous 24 hours, and 104 people injured.

The office reported that Monday’s attack on Kryvyi Rih killed seven people, including a 10-year-old girl, making it one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in recent weeks. Russian rockets struck a residential high-rise building and a university building in the attack, which also wounded 81 people, including seven children.
