Only a few nautical miles north of Rovinj, one of the most popular vacation resorts on the Croatian Adriatic , lies the small village of Vrsar at the entrance to the Limski Channel. In contrast to the more touristy Rovinj , Vrsar has retained the charm of a Mediterranean fishing settlement with its terraced layout up the hillside. Through narrow, winding, but nevertheless light-flooded alleys, you can always catch a glimpse of the bay as you make your way up the slope into the historic upper town. This is how you reach the highest point of the town, where the parish church of Sveti Martin is located. The building from the early 20th century received a new 54m high bell tower in the nineties. You can climb it and, in good weather, look south over Funtana to Poreč and north beyond Rovinj. The seaside resort of Poreč is also an attractive destination for your yacht charter Vrsar. The somewhat more difficult approach to the port there will be rewarded with a visit to the Episcopal Euphrasius Basilica (UNESCO World Heritage Site), relics from Roman times or a large adventure pool. Back in Vrsar, which served as a summer residence for the bishops from Poreč, you can take a long walk along the beach promenade. A wide range of restaurants, cafes and bars invite you to linger for a moment and soak up the atmosphere of the town.

On the coast in front of Vrsar there are 18 uninhabited small islands. Vrsar itself also offers several beaches. The beaches Valkanela and Orsera are particularly family-friendly. The beach Orsera offers for example an aqua park, where you can spend a lot of time climbing, jumping and romping. So even the little ones can enjoy their time on yacht charter Vrsar.

If you prefer a more sportive holiday, you can rent a paddle boat or explore the local underwater world on a dive around the two Salamun Islands.

The Limski Channel , not far from Vrsar, offers an extraordinary natural experience. For private boats this about 11km long sea arm is closed, but there are excursion steamers which sail the channel. Here is also one of the many caves and grottoes of Istria. It was used as early as the Stone Age and is located at the northern end of the river. For several years it also served as the dwelling place of a saint named Romuald. Hiking and biking trails run along the canal, and the steep limestone walls attract accomplished climbers.

Heading south from Vrsar are more usual cruising destinations with the Brijuni Islands, a nature reserve, historic Pula and sheltered Pomer with the Cape Kamenjak Nature Park. Towards the north from Vrsar, however, a no less charming coastline invites to be discovered. Via Poreč, Novigrad and Umag you can also sail to Slovenia . Or for a longer trip you can even plan a crossing to the Italian coast, for example to the lagoon city of Venice.
