This 1991 Catalina 28’ Is located in Cape Coral, FL. Ready for you to Sail!

This model was designed by Gerry Douglas and introduced in 1991, with 620 examples completed. It has a length overall of 28.50 ft (8.7 m), a waterline length of 23.83 ft (7.3 m), displaces 8,300 lb (3,765 kg) and carries 3,600 lb (1,633 kg) of iron ballast. The boat has a draft of 5.25 ft (1.60 m) with the standard keel and 4.5 ft (1.4 m) with the optional shoal draft wing keel. The wing keel version displaces 8,200 lb (3,719 kg) and carries 3,500 lb (1,588 kg) of iron ballast. T

he boat is fitted with a Universal M3-20 diesel engine.

The boat has a PHRF racing average handicap of 201 with a high of 210 and low of 195. It has a hull speed of 6.54 kn (12.11 km/h). Sail Area / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.

• SA : Sail area in square feet, derived by adding the mainsail area to 100% of the foretriangle area (the lateral area above the deck between the mast and the forestay).

Ballast / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.

A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. 1986 Chris-Craft 292 Catalina The Chris Craft 292 Catalina Sunbridge Sedan is a safe and strong family yacht. The Catalina is also a traditional yacht: wide beamed and seakindly, with enough room for the whole clan to cruise comfortably. The Catalina line features the use of finished red oak on all interior surfaces. This 29- foot foot cruiser is a versatile family boat with a still attractive profile and an unusally spacious cockpit ofr a 29 ft cruiser. The hull is solid fiberglass and a wide beam 10'9" results in a fairly roomy interior. The single level floorplan will sleep six and good headroom throughout. The small galley will handle most basic food-prep necessities, and the standup head compartment is equipped with a shower. Topside, the flybridge has seating for the captain and up to four additional guests. Lift out hatches in the cockpit sole to provide good access to the engine compartment. An efficient performer with a pair of 220hp crusader gas engines with 800 original hours of use, easly cruiser at 19 knots at just 17 gallons per our. Top speed 28-29 knots.
