ZEUS Yacht – Harmonious $50M Superyacht

ZEUS yacht is a 74-meter yacht that can accommodate up to 15 guests using her six cabins and fit up to 21 onboard qualified crew members in her nine spacious cabins.

She was built in 1991 by Blohm and Voss and was designed both on the exterior and interior by Francis Design.

She weighs approximately 1,150 tons and can cruise at speeds of 19 knots, and can go to a top speed of 35 knots.

Designing the interior of the ZEUS yacht is Francis Design , a design studio led by Martin Francis. A UK-born and raised individual who graduated in Furniture and has since transitioned to yacht interior design.

He started designing yachts back in 1980 and has amassed tons of experience after working on several yacht projects.

One of these is GOLDEN ODYSSEY , a 123-meter superyacht owned by Prince Khaled bin Sultan.

This 400 million US dollar superyacht can welcome 32 guests in 16 cabins and fit 60 qualified crew members in 30 cabins.

She weighs 7,690 tons, can cruise at speeds of 11 knots, and can go to a top speed of 21 knots.

Another is the SENSES yacht, a 59.22-meter yacht capable of welcoming 14 crew members, and ten guests and can go to a top speed of 15 knots.

There is little known information regarding the amenities aboard the ZEUS Yacht, but pictures of her suggest that she has access to a sun deck and an outside dining area.

She can also welcome up to 15 guests using her six cabins with specifications of 1 Master, 1 VIP, and 4 Doubles. Additionally, she can also fit up to 21 qualified onboard crew members.

Specifications

ZEUS yacht spans an overall length of    244.5 feet or 74.5 meters, a beam of 36.9 feet or 11.2 meters, and a draft of 10.6 feet or 3.2 meters.

She is built with a teak deck, a steel hull, and an aluminum superstructure and was completed in 1991 by Blohm and Voss .

She weighs approximately 1,150 tons and is powered by two kamewa 112s mechanical engines that turn her twin screw propulsion systems, capable of outputting 10,010 hp, which enable her to cruise at 19 go to a maximum speed of 35 knots.

ZEUS Yacht is capable of storing 38,000 liters of fresh water and holding 230,000 liters worth of fuel in her fuel tanks which allows her to cover distances of over 4,031 nautical miles.

ICONIC YACHTS: INSIDE THE STORY OF THE RADICAL SUPERYACHT ZEUS

When Martin Francis was commissioned to design Eco, now Zeus, – his first motor yacht – in 1991, the brief from experienced owner Emilio Azcárraga was for a 55 to 60 metre superyacht capable of 25 knots. But after two years’ work that produced everything except the desired ‘wow factor’, Azcárraga said he was thinking of buying Carinthia VI (now The One), the 71 metre classic Bannenberg design.

As she was longer and had much less accommodation, she did not satisfy the brief Francis had been given, so he showed how, for a given size of superstructure, the projected vessel looked better and went faster with a longer hull. This proposal, at 72 metres, with radical curved windows inspired by Parisian buses, convinced Azcárraga to build the design.

As the contract negotiations progressed, he decided to go for the high-speed gas turbine option and thus increase the contract design speed to 30 knots. Blohm + Voss was chosen as the builder because of its extensive experience with high-speed naval vessels equipped with gas turbines.

The propulsion system selected comprised twin diesel engines driving wing jets for cruising up to 20 knots and a central GE LM1600 gas turbine driving a booster jet. Zeus was the launch customer for the LM1600, and the central KaMeWa waterjet was the largest built at that time. Extensive tank testing comprising 11 different transom and hydrofoil combinations proved that the proposed hydrofoil improved performance dramatically in both cruising (18 knots) and high-speed (30 knots-plus) modes.

For Zeus's interior, Azcárraga asked for an art deco-inspired look, and Francis appointed the designer responsible for the acclaimed Mamounia hotel in Marrakesh, François Zuretti. He had never worked on a yacht before but had an indispensable understanding of the owner’s tastes and lifestyle.

In contrast to today’s practices, Martin Francis managed the entire project, the owner having said: ‘I t’s your project – get on with it. Here are five million dollars. Let me know when you need some more. ’ None of the team of young designers and architects that was assembled had previous yacht experience but many later made their mark in the industry. Judith Hilpern, Clifford Denn, Espen Øino, Jonny Horsfield, Mark Smith, Dick Sarre and Dan Lenard all worked on the project at different times.

After the predictable – considering the level of innovation – teething troubles, Zeus performed remarkably well, using the gas turbine extensively at speeds of up to 35 knots. Azcárraga cruised her on both sides of the Atlantic and even acquired Eco Supporter, a small tanker, to enable ‘mid-flight’ refuelling on crossings under the gas turbine.

In her original configuration, the aft deck of Zeus was designed to carry a Maule turbo-prop float plane, a Riva Aquarama, a Tulio Abbate custom tender and a Harley Davidson. After her purchase by Larry Ellison in 1999, when she was renamed Katana, Francis converted the aft deck into a basketball court and lowered the owner’s deck aft to create a saloon with an outside dining area. Zeus was sold to British entrepreneur Aidan Barclay in 2004 as Enigma and was sold again in 2017, renamed Zeus.

ZEUS I Motor yacht for sale

• Musk is famously anti-vacation, but he seemed to make an exception for a day lounging on the yacht.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO — who's currently embroiled in a battle over the future of Twitter  — was spotted Sunday aboard a luxury yacht in Mykonos, Greece. Joined by a group of friends that included Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel and his fashion-designer wife, Sarah Staudinger, Musk spent the day swimming, sunning himself, drinking cocktails, and even getting hosed down by Emanuel . 

"Haha damn, maybe I should take off my shirt more often," Musk tweeted Tuesday after the photos went viral, adding that he was "already back in the factory."

While Musk famously owns a $70 million private jet , he hasn't sprung for a yacht of his own (unlike his space rival, Jeff Bezos ). Instead, the group chartered the vessel — called Zeus — from SamBoat , a European online boat-rental firm that operates in Greece, Croatia, and Spain, and has plans to expand to the US. 

Here's a peek inside the luxurious superyacht, which rents for over $7,000 a day. 

Zeus is a 24-meter yacht, which is equivalent to about 79 feet. Renting the vessel starts at $7,171.

The yacht has capacity for 20 people and is intended for full-day excursions.

A skipper is included with the rental — the skipper serves as your captain during your trip.

Passengers can swim off the back platform, like Musk did ...

... or lounge with a cocktail on the rear deck.

If guests need a break from the sun, there's room to sit down for a meal inside. And if anyone needs a nap, there are four berths onboard that can sleep up to eight people.

And for anyone looking to explore the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea, there's snorkeling gear onboard.

Luke Brown Yachts stated, “This beautiful 2009/2020 42’ Sabre Excalibur has been expertly maintained and meticulously upgraded with an open checkbook. The owners make sure the varnish is taken care of every 6-8 months, and her elegant blue flag hull gets buffed and waxed once a year. Her engines/pods and generator have all been 1,000-hour serviced. New twin touchscreen Raymarine Axiom pro units, new Raymarine Magnum wide array radar, all new AGM batteries, 4 new reverse- cycle Dometic AC/heat units, two new flatscreens and KVH TracVision TV 5, just to list a few things.”

“The Sabre 42 Express Hard Top rides on a modified V-hull, which ends in a deadrise of 16 degrees at the transom. The bottom is steep and fine forward, splitting waves into kindling and easing the way for the shallower after sections. Lifting strakes and chine flats add lift, and the latter enhance the boat’s stability when she’s at rest or at displacement speed,” as previously reported in Yachting .

Excalibur is powered by twin Cummins diesel engines, combined 850 horsepower, with Zeus pod drives and joystick system. When reviewing the Sabre 42 Hard Top Express, Yachting explained that Zeus is the azipod drive system developed by ZF and Cummins MerCruiser Diesel, and Skyhook is the wonderful feature that allows the boat to hold station. The magic comes from the built-in GPS that communicates with the computer governing Zeus’s behavior to hold the boat captive within its coordinates-give or take a few feet. No less thrilling is the way these pods enhance the 42’s maneuverability, at planing speed and in tight quarters, when the speeds are so slow that conventional rudders become useless. Although this system lacks the feel of a traditional cable-operated system, it is quick and positive, even in reverse. In docking mode, Zeus’s joystick lets you move the boat forward, backward, and sideways. The 42 Hard Top Express has a top speed of 34 knots.

Owners can easily board Excalibur from the swim platform and via the transom door. Two aft-facing cushioned benches, one to port and one to starboard, and a fold-down bench on the transom provide plenty of room for guests who enjoy relaxing in the sun. Three molded-in stairs on each side of the cockpit give access to the foredeck where a few guests could also sunbathe. Stainless-steel handrails and non-slip fiberglass soles are a few safety features provided to keep guests comfortable while cruising.  

Excalibur’ s pilothouse is covered by a fiberglass hardtop with large windows on each side allowing natural light to illuminate the area. An open-air environment can be created when opening up the door and windows to the cockpit area, or keep it closed while using the new A/C or heating system. Two Stidd-style leather captain’s chairs are at the helm and there’s an L-shaped settee with table just aft on the port side. There are new twin touchscreen Raymarine Axiom pro units and new Raymarine Magnum wide-array radar. Previous owners have kept Excalibur in excellent shape with the following improvements and upgrades:

• 1,000-hour service on engines and pods, including new internal pod parts, props tuned and pods re-sealed
• 1,000-hour service on 11.5 kw Onan generator

Down four steps from the bridge deck is Excalibur ’s salon and galley. The single-cabin layout allows for a larger full-beam U-shaped galley and salon with a C-shaped dinette and table that seats five. Varnished American cherry wood and the teak-and-holly sole glow from the natural light that flows in from the portholes. A U-shaped galley with a large sink provides plenty of counter space for food prep and the electric stovetop, oven and microwave allow the owners to prepare just about any type of meal. Owners have plenty of stowage space for dry goods in the cabinets and drawers in the galley, and cold stowage in the new Norcold refrigerator/freezer. Entertaining guests in the cockpit, pilothouse or salon is made easy with the centrally located galley.

After a long day on the water, owners can retire to the master stateroom located forward of the salon and galley. Relax on a cozy queen-sized berth. Stowage lockers and drawers built from cherry wood provide plenty of room for stowing clothes and accessories on extended voyages. Turn on the reading lamp and dive into a book or watch a little TV before falling into a deep sleep.

Zeus has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising one VIP cabin. Additionally, there is a staff cabin on board. She is also capable of carrying up to 21 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

Zeus is built with a steel hull and GRP superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by 1 x gas turbine General Electric (LM 1600) 18,500hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 18 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 32 knots with a range of up to 4,031 nautical miles from her 230,000 litre fuel tanks at 18 knots. Her water tanks store around 38,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules.

Fortnite: All Mythic Weapon Locations | Chapter 5 Season 2

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is here, and besides a lot of other stuff, the Fortnite map got a few new locations and new Mythic Fortnite weapons. We'll show you how to get them all.

Fortnite: All Mythic Weapon Locations In Chapter 5 Season 2

The Mythic weapons are all in the possession of enemy NPC bosses . However, there are usually other enemies spawning nearby, so make sure you equip yourself well before fighting them.

In addition to the Mythic weapons, the bosses also drop the Aspect of the Gods Medallions once they have been defeated. These have different effects and will not give you shield like in the former season. However, they still reveal your position on the map.

So let's not talk for long. Let's dive into the locations of Fortnite's Mythic weapons.

Zeus' Huntress DMR

You get Zeus' Huntress DMR by challenging and defeating Zeus. He is located in the top building on Mount Olympus. You can find the place in the southeast of the Fortnite map.

To challenge him, you must push the statue from its pedestal. Afterward, you have to defeat Zeus, then his minions, and Zeus again. After that, he drops his medallion and the Mythic Huntress DMR for you.

Ares' Warforged Assault Rifle

You find the war god Ares south of Mount Olympus in Brawler's Battleground . Before you fight Ares himself, you have to deal with a wave of minions.

When you defeat him, you will receive his Mythic Warforged Assault Rifle.

Cerberus' Gatekeeper Shotgun

You find Cerberus in Grim Gate, west of Restored Reels. After you defeat him and his pack, you'll receive the Mythic Gatekeeper Shotgun.

Hades' Harbinger SMG

You can find the god of the underworld, Hades, in The Underworld. The location is at the far-west of the Fortnite map . In his throne room, you first fight two waves of minions and then him with a last wave of minions.

Try to always hide behind a wall, as Hades will otherwise drain your life with his life-steal attack. But if you eliminate him, all his minions will automatically die as well.

Thunderbolt Of Zeus (Vaulted until May 3)

The Thunderbolt of Zeus is a new mythic item that you can find all over the map. It's unlikely to be found in normal and rare chests, though. Most likely, you'll find the new Thunderbolt by defeating Zeus himself, or in the God Chests, which spawn in the two new areas.

Waterbending

Like the Thunderbolt of Zeus, you can find Korra's Waterbending item anywhere on the map. When you use the item, a circle of water is surrounding your character. While attacking, a part freezes into small icy projectiles that you can hurl at your opponents. They don't deal a lot of damage each, but the fire rate is very high.

Firebending

The item can be found all over the map. Firebending let you do two different moves. With your fire button, you trigger a single attack or a combo of flames on your opponent. At the end of a combo, you throw a huge wall of flames forwards.

Using the aim button, you jump in the air while spinning around and perform a flame kick to the ground.

Earthbending

As an Earthbender, you can choose between two variants of abilities. To attack your opponent, you pull a rock from the ground and throw it forward. Defense wise, you can also raise a rock wall in front of you. This item can be found all over the map.

Become Avatar Aang's with the new Airbending item. You can either move quickly forward inside a airbending-wheel or perform a dash into the air to surprise your enemies. Airbending can also be found all over the map.

Midas' Drum Gun (Vaulted)

Midas' Drum Gun just returned and is already leaving Fortnite again. Lately it was purchasable from Midas at the Marigold Yacht. With the end of the "Rise of Midas" event, it has disappeared from Fortnite again. However, we might see it again in one of Fortnite's OG seasons in the future.

Fortnite Avatar: Elements - New Chests

You can find the new Avatar-scrolls Waterbending, Firebending, Earthbending and Airbending literally everywhere on the map. But the only spot, where they are guaranteed to spawn is in the new Avatar event chesets.

You can identify which element-scroll is inside by looking at the scroll on top of the chest. If you wanna try the new items, you should look for some chests of this kind.
