Do You Use All Genuine Parts?

Whenever possible, we use Mercury or MerCruiser certified parts for all outboard, sterndrive and drivetrain repairs. Additionally, we use only top tier brands for all mechanical hardware including bilge pumps, trim pumps, trim tabs etc. Many parts, including rails, harnesses, custom rigging and other components will be custom fabricated at Fountain. 

Are Factory Visits Available?

Yes. We encourage you to visit our world-class facility and see firsthand why Fountain Certified is uniquely qualified to handle any refurbishing project. Tour our facility and meet the craftsmen and engineers that will ramrod your project. 

Will You Water Test Engine and Drivetrain Repairs?

Yes. Like all our new boats, if your boat includes repairs or upgrades to the engines or drivetrain, your boat will be water-tested and include a complete performance report prior to delivery.

Will You Work On Boats Other Than Fountain?

We will consider all projects, but prioritize Fountain owners.

Do You Accept Insurance Work?

Yes. Based on past experience, insurance companies look favorably on factory certified repairs and in  some cases, you can expect faster approval times and higher approval rates.

Can You Convert An Analog Dash to Digital?

Depending on the model, we are able to update most electronic components.

How Far Back Can You Go?

Obviously, the newer the boat, the more likely we can tackle your project. We’ve been building boats for more than 40 years. Most are still on the water today. Refurbishing Reggie’s hull #1 shows the scope of what can be done.

Iconic Marine Group Continues to Expand

Iconic Marine Group, which purchased the Fountain, Donzi, Baja and Pro-Line boat brands last year, is bringing Fountain founder Reggie Fountain back on board and is set to release several new models at upcoming boat shows.

“There’s some very familiar names over the last 100 years that have changed the business, and Reggie’s one of them, especially when it comes to performance,” Iconic Marine Group COO Joe Curran told Trade Only Today.

“He’s definitely energized with this project. He’s going to have everything to do with performance and building a performance team around that [Fountain] brand, and so we’ll see how it develops.”

Reggie Fountain will be working internally on some projects that will be announced going forward, Curran said. “It’s going to bring back some of the Fountain enthusiasts; he’s definitely going to be a statesman of the brand. Make no bones about it, Reggie’s there to work with ownership and management of the company and be part of the team. Fountain Introduces 43 SCX Center Console

Combining the hull of its 43 NX center console and a fresh deck, Fountain Powerboats has created a new model dubbed the 43 SCX. The quad Mercury Racing 500R outboard engine-powered 43-footer was unveiled this morning at the Miami International Boat Show , which opened today.

“We have introduced one new model in each of the past four years,” said Fred Ross, the owner of Fountain parent-company Iconic Marine Group, during a brief introduction of the boat for the media. “The 43 SCX is our latest.”

With the 2,000 hp worth of outboards on its transom, the 19,500-pound, 12-foot-wide center console runs in the high-80-mph range according to Jeff Harris, the chief operating officer of Fountain Powerboats in Washington, N.C. The boat can be equipped with up to five 500-hp outboards, according to the company, and fuel capacity is approximately 475 gallons.

Demand for additional bolster seating, Harris explained, drove the development of the 43 SCX.

“The go-fast pleasure-boat crowd required two rows of bolster seats behind the windshield and we really couldn’t offer that when the 43 NX was designed, so we created a new deck,” Harris said. “While were doing that, we went after the 38 SCX hardtop style, console styling, speaker placement and other details.

“The 43 NX was already amazing,” he added. “We didn’t have to do anything with that.”

Fountain fans will get their first look at the 43 SCX during the Florida Powerboat Club Miami Boat Show Poker Run, February 22-25.

Said Ross, “We have introduced one new model in each of the past four years.”

Another First for Fountain Powerboats: A Dual Console

Fountain Powerboats is introducing its first dual console boat in the company’s 44-year history at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show .

“It has a lot of utility for a family, but it runs like a Fountain,” Harris said. “We’re in the performance business and performance matters. Performance isn’t just top speed. It’s ride performance, handling performance and its cruise performance.”

The 39DX offers remarkable customization from the graphics to the seating layouts. The cockpit layout for the first model appearing in Fort Lauderdale included a two-person seat at the helm and to port is a long bench on the gunwale.

The cockpit is protected by a full wraparound windshield and a hardtop. Fountain includes as standard a 16,000 BTU air conditioner for keeping the cockpit cool on a hot summer day. In the winter, turn on the heater and add Isinglass curtains to extend the boating season by a couple months or more, Harris said.

“Unless it’s a nice sunny day and 65 degrees out, the family probably won’t want to go out on the water,” Harris said. “That won’t be the case because the cold air won’t affect you because you’re protected.”

Harris said the aft area can be configured for a buyer, something competitors in the dual console market can’t match.

“The interior options are just voluminous,” Harris said. “You can build the boat just like you want it.”

In the bow, add a filler cushion and the bow on the 39DX transforms into a large sun lounge.

Fountain included a cabin on the 39DX, making smart use of the space. The cabin includes a small berth and a standup head. A 6,000 BTU air conditioner keeps the space below cool and is a great spot for the kids to chill on a hot summer day.

Features buyers will appreciate are a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer, which comes standard, and a dive door for easy access to the cockpit.

Fountain has built its reputation over the years on performance, and the 39DX is no exception. The first hull in the Fort Lauderdale show was equipped with triple Mercury Marine 400 Verado outboards. With that power, the stepped-hull boat cruises at 44 mph and a top speed of 70 mph, Harris said.

What impressed Harris with the initial performance numbers was the 39DX’s fuel efficiency. It averaged better than 1 mpg with 1,200 hp on the transom.

“At cruise speeds the 39DX is unlike anything in its class. Nothing even comes close to efficiency and cruise,” Harris said. “It almost has a 375-mile range at a 40-plus mph cruise. That’s pretty incredible.”

Fountain will also offer the 39DX with either triple Mercury Racing 300R, Mercury Racing 400R or Mercury Racing 500R outboards.

For a company that builds offshore boats and center consoles, a dual console is part of Fountain’s evolution under Harris and company owner Fred Ross.

“It’s a throwback to the day when Fountain used to make a sportfish cruiser,” Harris said. “The 39DX is much more refined. It’s a world of difference.”

For the first time Rosatom Fuel Division supplied fresh nuclear fuel to the world’s only floating nuclear cogeneration plant in the Arctic

The fuel was supplied to the northernmost town of Russia along the Northern Sea Route.

The first in the history of the power plant refueling, that is, the replacement of spent nuclear fuel with fresh one, is planned to begin before 2024. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. As the only nuclear fuel supplier to Russian NPPs, TVEL supplies fuel for a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, for research reactors in nine countries, as well as for propulsion reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on TVEL fuel. Rosatom Fuel Division is the world’s largest producer of enriched uranium and the leader on the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. TVEL also includes Rosatom integrators for additive technologies and electricity storage systems. Rosenergoatom, Joint-Stock Company is part of Rosatom Electric Power Division and one of the largest companies in the industry acting as an operator of nuclear power plants. It includes, as its branches, 11 operating NPPs, including the FNPP, the Scientific and Technical Center for Emergency Operations at NPPs, Design and Engineering as well as Technological companies. In total, 37 power units with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW are in operation at 11 nuclear power plants in Russia. Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC, Elektrostal) is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fuel for nuclear power plants. The company produces fuel assemblies for VVER-440, VVER-1000, RBMK-1000, BN-600,800, VK-50, EGP-6; powders and fuel pellets intended for supply to foreign customers. It also produces nuclear fuel for research reactors. The plant belongs to the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom.
