Horizon Yachts launches second tri-deck FD100

Taiwanese builder Horizon Yachts has launched the second hull in its 31-metre tri-deck FD100 series, named Jemily II . The model was first introduced at the 2021 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, available in either a skyline or tri-deck version. 

The series' second hull had been commissioned for experienced American clients who wished for a design that emphasized multi-generational entertainment. To achieve this, various customisations were made to the yacht's internal and external configurations including an additional entertainment console within the enclosed skylounge and the removal of the helm station on the top deck for expanded dining and lounge spaces.   

Penned by Cor D. Rover , the FD100's exteriors are characterised by full-height windows and generous deck areas.

Inside, the signature full-beam master suite is situated forward on the main deck with a large his-and-hers ensuite and ample closet space. Four additional ensuite staterooms can be found on the lower deck, connected by a floating staircase with access to each of the three levels.

The interior of the vessel was designed in close collaboration with the Horizon Yachts USA team to create an elegant feel highlighted by modern artistic elements. A contemporary rectangular Rhiannon chandelier hangs above a large dining table for ten, while a handcrafted glass partition decorated with a splash ink pattern finishes the space between the dining room and galley for added privacy. 

Other onboard elements include a Jacuzzi on the bridge deck aft, a hydraulic swim platform, and ambient lighting from a Quick Marine Lighting system added at the owner's request.

The FD100 is powered by two C-32-ACERT Caterpillar diesel engines that supply a top speed of 20.3 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots. She is scheduled for delivery to her owners later this year. 

The news follows the delivery of Horizon Yachts' first tri-deck FD110 model , which made its debut at the 2022 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Horizon Yacht USA build manager joins the new Jemily II for her sea trials off Taiwan’s southern coast.   With the typhoon and monsoon seasons firmly in their wake, southern Taiwan’s winter months bring with them pleasant conditions that extend from shore to sea. Winter’s “cool season” sees more temperate climates, but boating conditions, while more favorable this time of year, retain the characteristic unpredictability of the 180-kilometer body of water separating the island of Taiwan from Asia’s mainland. Here, at the southern end of the Formosa Straight, the waters off the global port of Kaohsiung are bustling with the comings and goings of container ships and other industrial vessels, while peppered with occasional leisure yachts being put through their paces. The varied conditions of these waters make them an ideal location to test every Horizon yacht’s operating systems, navigation systems, stabilizers, engines and generators.

For nearly three years, the pandemic’s travel restrictions necessitated that sea trials be managed by representatives from the major component manufacturers as well as the Horizon yard’s team of engineers, designers and naval architects, with clients, captains and the Horizon Yacht USA team participating remotely. This month marked a significant post-pandemic milestone, as the ease in travel restrictions allowed Horizon Yacht USA build manager Karl Kemppainen and the owner’s captain to personally attend the sea trials of the brand new Tri-Deck FD100, Jemily II. “It was terrific to return to Kaohsiung to spend time with my Horizon colleagues and put the latest FD Series yacht through her paces,” said Karl. “It was this client’s captain’s first visit to the yard and he was thoroughly impressed with the engineering and build caliber on display. I encourage every client and captain to visit the yard during the build process to see firsthand the level of build quality that distinguishes Horizon from other builders.”

Jemily II is a five-stateroom yacht built for experienced American clients who knew what they wanted in their new yacht. They customized the skylounge to suit a relaxed and fun lifestyle and incorporated custom lighting, navigation and A/V throughout. After her sea trials, she will return to the Horizon Premier Shipyard for final completion before being prepped for shipment to the U.S. The FD100’s arrival will be followed closely by the delivery of the next FD90  to first time Horizon owners, who ordered their new Horizon after the 2021 Newport International Boat show. These owners also joined other Horizon owners and guests at the Horizon Yachts Owners’ Rendezvous in the Abacos in May, 2022, where they officially became members of the Horizon family.

Superyacht JEMILY II just launched by Horizon and is now on its way to meet its owner in the USA

Horizon Yachts have just launched the super yacht JEMILY II from their shipyard in Taiwan before she makes her way over to the USA to be introduced to her lucky new owner.

She is a fabulous example of the tri-deck model and features exterior styling from Cor D Rover Designs while the naval architecture was kept in house at Horizon. Her vertical bow delivers 170GT of interior volume which is evident in the main deck master with his and hers bathrooms and lower deck VIP suite. In total there are five staterooms, accommodating up to 10 guests.

The new owners are based in Florida and are avid fishermen so the design had incorporated many of their own unique features such as four fishing rod holders on the aft deck and a Dometic Eskimo fish box ice system plus fishing gear storage in the beach club. The beach club area also includes Montague M-E1 bikes, dive gear and a dive compressor.

Jayson Tatum has grown into one of Jordan Brand’s biggest ambassadors with the debut of his second signature sneaker, the Jordan Tatum 2. He always makes sure to keep the entire Boston Celtics organization strapped in a pair of his shoes, along with constantly showing love to those under the Jordan family. A few nights ago, fellow Jordan Brand athlete Paolo Banchero laced-up an exclusive pair of Jordan Tatum 2’s that even left Jayson Tatum himself in a frenzy. The Orlando Magic faced the Toronto Raptors on the road and Banchero was seen wearing the unreleased ‘Yacht Club’ colorway of the Tatum 2.

The clean colorway sports nautical vibes with its soft blue and turquoise hues throughout. The defining characteristic of the shoe is the tiny tab along the ankle that features maritime flags to tie the theme together. We haven’t even seen Jayson Tatum rocking these on-court yet, so it was certainly a surprise to see Banchero got his hands on something from deep inside the vault.

It also plays perfectly as the two stars were once stars at Duke University, so there’s further evidence of the lasting brotherhood from Blue Devils in the NBA. Banchero channeled his inner-Tatum and finished the game with 17 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists as the Magic beat the Raptors 113-103. They now sit in fifth-place in the East and trail the Celtics by 14 games.

Following the image being released on social media, Jayson Tatum responded in a short, yet sweet manner to show his adoration for his sneakers and his basketball brother.

Clearly, Jayson Tatum was shocked to see someone rocking his exclusive sneakers before he got a chance to, but it’s still all love in the Jordan family. Whether or not we’ll see a release around these is still to be determined, but there’s no question that this is one of the cleaner pairs of Jordan Tatum 2’s we’ve seen. With how popular the sneaker has become amongst hoopers, we can expect to see more colorways of these around the Association.
