Eclipse 114 yacht charter, eclipse 114 yacht description.

Eclipse is a Couach 115-foot motor yacht. With 120 years of experience in shipbuilding, the iconic French brand is a leader of design, style and innovation. The hull design, conceived after extensive research and testing, insures comfort and safety regardless of weather conditions. The build was designed for charter and equipped with all required safety features. Interiors, designed by Frank Reynaud, feature fair trade polished teak and leather for a high level of elegance that is also family-friendly. The yacht is fully air-conditioned and features wifi throughout and independent satellite channels on each television so everyone is free to choose a preferred program. The main deck layout features a traditional dining room, a spacious living room, and a spacious salon with a unique, rotunda bay window on the afterdeck. Also on the main deck, an independent office fully equipped with all communication tools is available for those who must keep in touch. The wheelhouse, day head and professional kitchen are also on this level. There are five guest cabins positioned on the lower deck. One primary and two VIP staterooms and two guestrooms. Each has a private bathroom with separate toilet. All staterooms are equipped with queen beds. Large storage spaces can even accommodate bulky luggage. The most popular area on Eclipse is the spacious fly bridge. Open architecture allows for different areas defined by furnishings. The spacious dining arrangement includes u-shaped seating for eight, positioned around dual tables and facing the bar and grill. Further back and perfectly downwind during navigation, is the large Jacuzzi and sun top. Propelled by two MTU V 16 motors of 2400 CV each, Eclipse is able to reach a maximum speed of 33 knots, perfect for island hopping! Based in St. Martin, charter ECLIPSE and you can cruise to the best of St. Barths and Anguilla as well!

The promiment features of ECLIPSE 114 are her well-chosen interiors and alfresco dining areas. ECLIPSE 114 spends the summer and winter season in Saint Barthélemy (St. Barts) . She was delivered by the renowned boatbuilder Couach in 2005. A well-done refit was fulfilled in 2019/2020. The ingenious yacht layout features 5 cozy cabins and comfortably accommodates a group of 10 guests.

ECLIPSE 114 is classified as a superyacht. The inviting aft deck, elegantly connects to the well-equipped and inviting main saloon. CAPTAIN JACO PIETERSE: Captain Jacobus Pieterse spent his childhood growing up grew up along the ocean and in the city in his native South Africa. He originally hails from Empangeni, which is a city in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, approximately 157 kilometers north of Durban, set in a hill countryside, overlooking a flat coastal plain and the major harbour town of Richards Bay which is 16 kilometers away, A very friendly, easy going and accessible person, everyone just calls him JACO (pronounced Yako). Besides swimming, Jaco excelled at rugby and boxing as a youth. His love of the water moved him on to a yachting career, he now has 30 years of experience on the water, from chartering, diving, and delivering yachts, both power and sail. Jaco is an easy to talk to person, who has a sense of adventure and relishes exploring new places. He spent a lot of time cruising the Indian Ocean, which he loves for its vast unspoiled areas. He arrived to Saint Maarten about 6 years ago and has been cruising the local waters there ever since. The area has become a home of sorts, and Jaco has designed interesting venues for all types of guests, depending on what they want to do, be it intensive watersports, horse back riding, touring, or just quiet pristine places to relax. He feels the service on board should tailor to the guest’s preferences. From a friendly casual atmosphere to a refined discreet silver service, Jaco will deliver what fits! She is great with kids, having a diploma in Child Care and having worked at summer camps. She loves to read, sail, hike, and participate in sports, and has a lot of volunteer work under her belt! Her service style on board can be either discreet or interactive, depending on the guests’ requirements. She’s serious about her work and her cheerful, benevolent personality makes her adaptable and determined to provide the guests with the finest cuisine to their specifications. She believes in good things and feels everything is possible! CHIEF MATE - MARCO DE VILLIERS: Marco is from Welkom, South Africa. Note from Debra- broker: As you probably know, they didn’t spend much time aboard, as that was the arrangement. However, Mr. G’s PA advised me they were very happy with all the assistance Captain Jaco and his team gave them with land support, tender transfers, handling water toys, etc. I think they would consider chartering ECLIPSE again when they return to St. Barths. Hopefully next time, the seas cooperate more to allow them to use the yacht for transfers and some day trips around the islands.

5 Star!! The yacht was absolutely comfortable and clean. A beautiful boat that met all our expectations. The yacht was well ventilated. All 6 of the crew friendly and accommodating. The food was good and well presented. The yacht was spacious and beautiful. The crew made the trip. Attentive at all times. Courteous etc. All good. We loved the areas we chartered in. St. Barths is ok, but St. Martin is beautiful! Andrew

According to the Wall Street Journal, it was the largest transaction recorded in the city during the year, Dar (295 feet), owned by billionaire Ziad Al Manaseer who is the head of a holding company in Jordan, operating in several sectors (energy, infrastructure, cosmetics, etc.). Utopia, Aquila, Grace, Fortunate Sun, Lady S, Spectre, Illusion were also anchored in the bay. Ectasea (282 feet), the Mega-yacht which had recently snatched the control cabin from the deck of Simpson bay, was also in Saint Barth: its owner is Alshair Fiyaz, a Pakistani billionaire who owns the Polo Club of Saint Tropez-Haras de Gassin.

There were 230 entry formalities for the equivalent of 3,148 passengers by water. That is 1,002 American citizens, 585 British citizens, 237 South African citizens, 131 Canadian citizens, 119 Australian citizens and also 114 French citizens, etc. …. that is 960 other citizens from various backgrounds….

The airport of Gustavia has also known a very important activity, the Saint Barth’s Newspaper communicates figures of 11 380 passengers for the period of December 20 to January 5 with 3 153 movements of planes on the ground, that is an average of 200 movements on the ground per day (landings and takeoffs taken together).

Saint Barthelemy Island (aka St Barts / St Barths) is one of the French Overseas Territories in the West Indies, Caribbean Sea. Its capital city is Gustavia, where is also the island's main/principal harbor/port. The island is approx 35 km (22 mi) southeast of St Martin Island , north of St Kitts Island , and approx 240 km (150 mi) to the east of Puerto Rico (US territory in the Greater Antilles). The Port's locode is GPGUS.

The island has total area approx 25 km2 (10 mi2) and population around 10,000. St Barths is a popular tourist travel destination, especially during the Christmas holidays.

Saint Barthelemy Marine Reserve (1999-founded) covers 10+ km2 (4 mi2) of protected areas, including bays and small islands, plus a zone restricted to scientific observations only.

The sea around the island features numerous coral reefs rich in marine life.

St Barths has 22 public beaches (most are named "Anse". Of those, 15 are suitable for swimming. Some (like Anse Toiny) are popular for windsurfing. St-Jean and Grand-cul-de-sac are best known for their watersports facilities. Among the most popular beaches are Flamands, Gouverneur, Colombier, Grand Galet, Grande Saline (nude beach). Anse de Grand Galet is in Gustavia's southwestern part.

On the island's northern coast there are 2 lagoons (Marigot, and Grand Cul-de-Sac).

St Barthelemy Island was named after Columbus' brother - Bartolomeo. The French arrived in 1645 as the island's first colonists. Later, it was sold to the Knights of Malta, then abandoned following several Carib Indians raids. In 1674, it was resettled by the French. The British occupied it for a short time, then the French prevailed once again. In 1784, St Barths was sold to Sweden. In 1878, France bought the island back, and today it is considered part of France's Guadeloupe dependency.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.
