Lake Union Cruises Available On 35' Carolina Classic Yacht

Looking for something to do with friends or family?  We are offering weekend or weekday evening cruises around Lake Union. Book the Carolina Classic 35 Motor Yacht for up to 6 person. Rate $200 per hour on weekdays or $250 on weekend requests.  Please know that holiday weekends and special events the hourly rate will vary.  Available for up to 6 passengers. Cruise the lake in the evening or enjoy a day time experience on the weekend. 2 hours will allow cruise around Lake Union. 3 hours will allow for a venture into Lake Washington.  No set plan on how the cruise can go.  Your captain will discuss your wants and needs and then build a plan for you. Boat will be run by certified USCG captain. We will have water available and are perfectly fine with the guest bringing their own food. Make your time on the water what you want it to be. Instagram pic with Seattle in the background? A cruise by Gas Works park? Head to the greatest setting in college football so you can see Husky Stadium from the water?  Or if draw bridges are something you’ve never experienced, we might even get lucky and be able to watch one in action. Boat is kid friendly, and there is an area in cabin for them to stay warm if they get cold and full bathroom will be available as well. Owner is certified 50Ton master licensed captain.  Owner will run the boat the entire time.  Can take a maximum of 6 passengers.  Please note that the hourly rate includes Washington state sales tax. Hi my name is Jason. I’m a 50 ton USCG master captain. I operate my 35 foot Carolina Classic. She’s a perfect fishing vessel for the ocean but she also does double duty as a perfect platform to cruise around the lake. A large rear deck area is perfect for hanging out, eating, and getting great photos with Seattle as the backdrop. The helm area also has a large seating area, and below she has a full bathroom and dining table. Let me captain the boat, and show you around lake union. The moment you step on board the beautiful Carol M. you will be transported to another, earlier time. From a short three hour scenic cruise, which includes hors d’oeuvres, but not meals, to our full gourmet dinner cruise, we provide a truly enchanting and personal experience.

Our cruises originate on Lake Union, home of the famous “Sleepless in Seattle” and house boat community–then navigate the Montlake Cut out into Lake Washington, unless other arrangements have been made. (We do offer dock-side pickup to homes on Lake Washington.)

As you cruise along the lakeshore you will see some of Seattle’s most beautiful waterfront homes and properties, while enjoying complimentary hors d’oeuvres of two nice cheeses, crackers and fresh grapes on all of our cruises.

We are however best known for our dinner cruise of four or more hours, where we anchor in one of the bays on Lake Washington. There, in the stillness of the water, we serve a delicious, relaxed multi-course dinner before resuming the cruise for home.

Or if you prefer, book us to cruise west through the Ballard Locks and experience the salt air and stunning views of Puget Sound (for this cruise plan on 7 to 8 hours).

Whichever adventure you choose, you will find it to be far more than a boat ride–we are not your typical charter boat, we create memories!

Our minimum cruise is a three hour charter, includes hors d’oeuvres, but no additional meals at $770.00. Additional hours are $225.00 per hour.

Our dinner cruises require a minimum of four hours, at $995.00.

Meals are a separate charge, and average $150.00 per person. Please visit our menu page . We are not licensed to sell or provide alcohol, but if you bring it we have everything needed to manage and provide full service at no additional cost.

All our cruises are private and designed with you for your personal experience.

• We are licensed as a six-pack charter, and can take up to SIX GUESTS TOTAL. (Children must be twelve years of age or older) • We have a minimum time of 3 hours for a scenic cruise, with our most popular cruise being our 4 hour dinner cruise. • All cruises come with light hors d’ oeuvres, and a two person crew; a licensed captain, and myself, owner, host, and chef.

Lake Union is a freshwater lake in the city of Seattle. Eastlake and Westlake are located on its east and west shores respectively, and the northern shore of the lake is home to Gas Works Park. Lake Union's scenic views and adventurous activities make it a popular recreational spot. From houseboats to paddle boards, fireworks, and city lights, Lake Union offers something for everyone. We have compiled the best of the best in and around Lake Union – check out the top things to see during your stay here.

Center for Wooden Boats: A museum dedicated to preserving the maritime history of the Pacific Northwest area. It features more than 170 vessels, mostly small sailboats and rowboats. Center for Wooden Boats (CWB) is a living museum, where you can build, sail, and learn boating. You can take classes for sailing from experienced sailors at CWB.

Lake Union Park: A 12-acre park located at the south end of Lake Union in Seattle. The park has been designed in a way to provide access to water and green space. The Park features restored shoreline, a pedestrian bridge, a history trail, a fountain of water jets, a beach for launching boats, a grove of trees, a Great Lawn, footpaths, and much more. The park also includes a Historic Ships Wharf that consists of several historic vessels.

Other Parks: North Passage Point Park is a 0.8 acre park located on the north side of Lake Union. South Passage Point Park is a 0.9-acre park located in the Eastlake neighborhood of Seattle. Fairview Park is a 0.8-acre park located on the eastern shoreline of Lake Union. Fairview park includes a P-Patch and a boat launch. Terry Pettus Park is a 0.9-acre park located on the eastern shoreline of Lake Union and offers shoreline access and a public float.

Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI): MOHAI is a history museum located in South Lake Union. Started in 1911, it is the largest private heritage organization that houses nearly 4 million artifacts, photographs, and archival materials. This is just a portion of the museum's gallery focus at the historic Naval Reserve Armory. Visitors can enjoy a diverse program of temporary exhibitions that basically focus on Seattle-based topics. The museum is open for public daily and children aged 14 and under can get entry for free.

Northwest Native Canoe Center: Northwest Native Canoe Center at Lake Union Park is a cultural center that focuses on indigenous maritime heritage, provides unique access to the Lake Union waterfront and offers a hands-on canoeing experience. It also organizes special events such as canoe blessings, dancing events, art markets and special occasion feasts.

Activities to Enjoy: Lake Union is a perfect place to enjoy sailing and boating on board your own private yacht or boat charter. You can enjoy beachcombing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming. If you happen to visit Seattle in the month of July, be sure to attend the Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival. Historical Summary:

Delivered to Seattle in 1941, the search for the original owner continues.

Aubrey Archer purchased the boat in 1953 and joined the Queen City Yacht Club. The boat was then named “Mal de Mer”. It changed hands in 1956 when Tom Rose and his family spent the next 32 years cruising the waters of Puget Sound. They had named boat “The Four Roses”.

In 1989 Robert Flack purchased the boat from the Rose family and moved it to Salmon Bay Marina where Mr. Flack lived aboard for 14 years. He renamed it “MV Madrone”.

In 2002 Jeff and Cindy Leist purchased the boat from Mr. Flack and moved it to Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It was then that the Leist family began a 5 year restoration. The boat was stripped, refastened, revarnished, repainted, rewired, bow thruster installed, minor reconfiguring and ultimately completely restored inside and out to bristol condition. It was then the Leist family renamed the boat “Simpler Times”. The boat was always stored in a covered slip with a complete boat cover as well (double covered.) Maintenance was routinely performed by Jeff Leist. The Leist family used it year round until 2017 when they sold it to Dave and Jana Ambauen.

The Ambauens had the boat transported, via truck, back to Lake Union in Seattle, Washington. Mr. Ambauen did have some work performed on the hull and had the brightwork refinished during his time as the owner. The boat was stored at the Waterworks Marina on Lake Union, Washington, under a covered slip. The Ambauens utilized the boat primarily in the spring, summer and early fall months. Once again, maintenance was routinely performed by Mr. Ambauen. The boat was listed for sale in April of 2020 and after a lengthy process, two serious buyer rejections and a series of events that were "meant to be", the boat once again changed hands and was sold to Nicolas Romero in October 2020.

The boat was transported, via truck, from Lake Union, Washington to KKMI in Richmond, California and immediately launched. 24 hours later, the boat had its maiden voyage on the San Francisco Bay, and piloted to its new home, with a covered slip, at the Fortman Marina in Alameda, California.
