Lil Yachty Says He Told Drake 'I Don’t Feel Like You Won or Lost' in Kendrick Lamar Beef
The 6 God's friend and frequent collaborator spoke at length about the historic beef, notably pointing out that Drake was “deemed a loser” before the battle started.
Lil Yachty has offered a decidedly measured take on Drake and Kendrick Lamar 's undeniably historic back-and-forth .
In a recently surfaced podcast clip seemingly taken from a not-yet-released episode of A Safe Place , Yachty, whose extensive collaborative history with the 6 God is well-documented, pointed out that Kendrick "clearly had a lot more animosity" throughout the beef.
"Because Drake dropped great records," Yachty said. "Also, let’s be fair, Drake was deemed a loser in this battle before it started. Because people don’t like him and haven’t and he’s won for a very long time and he’s sat at the top of the throne. Honestly and respectfully, I think he still sits at the top of the throne. I think that even if opinionated masses would say that Kendrick won, I don’t think that people are gonna stop listening to Drake."
While Yachty further noted that there are indeed “no rules” in a rap battle of this magnitude, he feels that this particular beef felt like the “most officiated beef” he’s seen. Still, he doesn’t believe his friend and frequent collaborator lost.
"I said to Drake, I told him, I don’t feel like you won or lost," he explained. "Rappers have lost, and then lost everything. … I don’t think that this has happened to Drake. I think that Drake will still be in everyone’s Spotify Wrapped at the end of the year, at the top. I think he can still drop hits and it will still control the summer. I think that Kendrick made very smart moves and I don’t think Drake would disagree."
Lil Yachty speaking on the Kendrick Lamar & Drake rap battle "Drake was deemed a loser in this battle before it started, cause people don't like him and havent... In another clip from the same unreleased (as of this writing, at least) discussion, Yachty gave his assessment of how both Drake and Kendrick were forced to take different angles when it came to their respective disses’ lyrical content. Both artists, he said, are "at the top of their game" and have been for some time. As for the specifics leveled back and forth, Yachty was also quick to point out that there’s "no proof" of either side’s claims.
"They didn’t have much on each either," he said. "So they found, one was pedophilia and then one was an abuser, a woman abuser. And they just both kind of poked at 'em. Extreme accusations, absolutely, which there’s no proof to either one. But it’s beef, right?"
Overall, Yachty added, this as "a really good battle," and represents something that will "never, ever, ever" be seen again. From Yachty’s perspective, however, the beef is over, with Kendrick’s "Not Like Us" ( currently the No. 1 song in the country ) standing as the "pivotal moment" from the back-and-forth.
"That song is the one that’ll live and I hope that one day in the near future these two guys can come laugh about it," he said. "When they’re old and gray and extremely dirt-rich, both billionaires, they can come and laugh about it and move forward."
Lil Yachty speaks on the allegations during the Drake vs Kendrick, artists tagging in, and Not Like Us ending it "ped*philia... a woman abuser... theres no proof to either one... I wished it was only Drake & Kendrick... when Kendrick came like 'I hate this n*gga' everyone was… pic.twitter.com/eRjLgtaZ1z — SOUND (@itsavibe) May 17, 2024
Last weekend, Drake, whose " The Heart Part 6 " stands as the final entry in the Kendrick saga, teased that he was moving into a new frame of mind. Specifically, he told fans they could expect some presumably imminent " summer vibes ."

Lil Yachty Weighs In On Drake-Kendrick Lamar Beef: "It Was A Cool Thing To Watch"
In April, Kendrick Lamar mentioned Lil Yachty on “euphoria,” one of several diss tracks aimed at Drake. While the Atlanta rapper gave a brief reaction to the song on its release day, he formally addressed it during a recent episode of the “A Safe Place” podcast.
“So many people kept calling and texting me with excitement of my name being used, and for me, it kinda just felt like I really didn’t want anything to do with it,” Yachty confessed . “I got a ton of respect for both of these guys. Honestly, it was a cool thing to watch. I learned so much. It was an honor and blessing to be able to experience it firsthand.”
Yachty later revealed he knew in advance that Lamar would name-drop him. “To be honest, I knew that my name was mentioned before it came out. I didn’t hear the record, but I had got word that I was mentioned. I wasn’t surprised,” he explained.
Having worked closely with Drake in recent years, Yachty also shared his thoughts on the high-profile feud. “Kendrick clearly had a lot more animosity, and you felt it in every song that he dropped,” he said. “Drake dropped great records . But also, let’s be fair: Drake was deemed a loser in this battle before it started because people don’t like him and haven’t.”
He continued, “He’s won for a very long time, and he’s sat at the top of the throne — respectfully, he still sits at the top of the throne. Even if the opinionated masses say that Kendrick won, I don’t think people are gonna stop listening to Drake [or] Drake’s career is gonna flush.”
It’s worth mentioning that Yachty’s alleged reference track for Drake’s “Jumbotron S**t Poppin” surfaced online earlier in the rap beef with Lamar. The QC artist has writing credits on several other songs by the Toronto native, including “Major Distribution,” “Circo Loco,” and “P**sy & Millions.”
The pair also have two formal collaborations: 2020’s “Oprah’s Bank Account” and “Another Late Night,” which appeared on 2023’s For All The Dogs .

TICKETS: General on sale begins Wednesday, May 15th at 10am local time at ChiefKeef.com
Chief Keef’s tour announcement arrives shortly after the release of his new album, Almighty So 2. Crafted over a period of two years, Almighty So 2 is produced by Sosa himself, with occasional assistance of reliable collaborators like Akachi and Young Malcolm. The young auteur mostly eschews melody on the new album–instead, he resolves to showcase his prodigious abilities as an emcee, sharpening his pen and emptying out his arsenal of flows. Sosa throws his entire body into his vocal performances, whether he’s building in intensity until he reaches a thunderous crescendo, or delivering his smirking punchlines with an audible disrespect. The new album features appearances from Sexyy Red, Quavo, G Herbo, Tierra Whack, his 43B signee Lil Gnar, and his Glo Gang associate Ballout. Home to previously released singles “Racks Stuffed Inna Couch” and “Tony Montana Flow,” and new highlights like “Drifting Away” and “Runner,” Almighty So 2 is now available everywhere via 43B.
Almighty So 2 continues a banner year for the influential Chief Keef. In March, he connected with superproducer Mike WiLL Made-It for the collaborative mixtape, DIRTY NACHOS , a Trap-A-Holics-hosted throwback to the heyday of the mixtape era. Earlier in the year, Sosa collaborated with Sexyy Red on two singles from her Hood Hottest Princess (Deluxe)–”Ghetto Princess,” and “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Mama),” and teamed up with Lil Yachty for “Say Ya Grace,” a highlight from All Is Yellow , the first album by Lyrical Lemonade . The song’s Cole Bennett-directed video went viral: the song reached the top 5 of YouTube’s Trending chart, and racked up over 3 million views in its first week of release. In June, Chief Keef makes his l ong awaited return to Chicago on June 16th , performing his first show in his hometown since 2012 at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash.

Critical Praise:
Rolling Stone’s 200 Best Hip-Hop Albums of All-Time (Finally Rich, #32)
“There is still nothing that feels like ‘Love Sosa,’ the breakout single from a then 17-year-old Chief Keef, from his debut album, Finally Rich. The Chicago rapper’s melodic, hard-nosed anthem shook the foundation of hip-hop. The kids were taking control in a way that the genre had never seen.” – Rolling Stone
“There’s no denying the influence of Keef’s menacing production, straightforward verses, and early D.I.Y. rap ethos on the generation of hip-hop artists that has followed.” – Pitchfork
“The influence and staying power of Chief Keef really cannot be overstated.” – The FADER

About Chief Keef
Uncountably prolific, yet never seeming to run out of ideas, Chief Keef is embarking on a new chapter of his storied career. In 2022, ten years after he stormed into the game and changed it forever at only 16-years old, he announced the formation of 43B , his new record label formed in conjunction with BMG , and signed its first artist, Lil Gnar . The two 43B artists combined for the single “Almighty Gnar,” a beat-shifting banger, and reconnected in 2023 for the fiery “PB&J,” which also featured Young Nudy . In December 2021, the rapper shared his critically acclaimed project 4NEM , home to viral single “Yes Sir” and titanic opener “Bitch Where,” prominently used in the fourth season of FX’s Atlanta and recently included in Pitchfork’s Best Singles of 2022 list , and founded his new Web3 venture DigiGlo . With Almighty So 2 on the way and more milestones to achieve, Chief Keef plans to make 2024 his own. Stay tuned for much more.

Lil Yachty Analyzes Drake, Kendrick Beef, Says Drake Still On Rap's Throne
Lil yachty drake was underdog vs. kendrick ... he's still rap king 👑.
Lil Yachty doesn't think Drake is permanently scarred by his battle with Kendrick Lamar -- although, almost everyone agrees he lost ... Champagne Papi's still king in Yachty's book!!!
The Boatster broke his silence about the Drake-Kendrick beef on his "A Safe Space" podcast after lyrically getting looped into the mix.
Kendrick poked at Yachty's friendship with Drake on "Euphoria" when he growled, "Yachty can't give you no swag neither, I don't give a f**k who ya hang with" -- an incredible strategy Yachty says, but not enough to ruin the OVO legacy.
Yachty thinks K.Dot brought more animosity to the battle than Drake, but says the odds were already stacked against his pal before things jumped off.
Drake's been the biggest rapper for many years -- commercially, at least -- and Yachty feels fans wanted their "down with the king" moment.
Kendrick broke streaming records with his diss tracks, and fans could call Yachty biased, but he makes good points on hip hop's history with beef -- namely that every battle has been judged differently and rules and regulations don't exist!!!
Yachty says he was aware Kendrick mentioned him on "Euphoria" before it dropped, and says even Drake would agree his competition moved wisely.
Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
Only time will tell which rapper can capitalize on the moment the most!!!
