I have been a licensed funeral director for over 30 years and have been involved with many types of services. When it comes to a memorial service at sea I never think twice about contacting Paradise Bound Yacht Charters. Captain Alex and Marlene are professional at providing a loving caring tribute experience for your loved one and the family.

Had to follow a friends wishes and have his ashes taken to the ocean. Did not know who to call till I found Captain Alex on the internet. I have to say he was very professional and made this very difficult task very easy . He was waiting at the dock to greet us took us out to sea and made this experience very easy for my son and i. Thank u sir

Captain Alex and First Mate Marlene were truly wonderful hosts. Yesterday, we had a send-off for our mother. The whole experience was incredibly cathartic for all of us. The sea was calm. It felt like we were in a whole different world for 2 solid hours. It was a chance for each of us to have the ocean and wind blow away all of our grief and troubles and just let her go. Seeing the flowers on the water was simply magical. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Captain Alex and First Mate Marlene were so kind and helpful. The horn was an amazing touch as well. What a memorable experience we had sailing with Captain Alex and his lovely wife Marlene on the Silver Eagle. We departed from the marina and sailed north, hitting Malibu before we headed back. The boat was beautiful and well-kept. Quite spacious for a group of 6. There were refreshments available to us and we brought some snacks as well. My boyfriend was super excited to take his first sailing lesson. Not only is Captain Alex a terrific sailor and former Navy Captain, he also plays the trumpet like a boss and will entertain you for hours with his stories. We are thinking about going out on one of his larger charters with a bigger group. There are so many deals and options for various group sizes. I highly recommend Paradise Bound Yacht Charters to anyone!

Captain Alex and Marlene were very hospitable and gracious hosts. It was our first time on a sailboat and it was a wonderful experience. The boat was immaculate. Captain Alex pointed out all the sights on the shore as we sailed to Malibu. The weather was great and we really enjoyed talking with Captain Alex and Marlene. We would recommend this sailing experience.

Captain Alex and First Mate Marlene provided a stunningly beautiful send-off for my parents' ashes on Palm Sunday. My Mom died at age 100, and one of her wishes was to have her and my Dad's ashes scattered off the coast of Santa Monica, where they first met in 1941. We took the Silver Eagle out of Marina del Rey and sailed north to 3 miles out opposite the Santa Monica pier. Captain Alex guided me in the correct way to scatter ashes from the stern, took three turns around each spot, which created a calm circle around the rose petals we had also scattered in each place. He then played a beautiful rendition of "Taps" on the trumpet. So moving and beautiful. Just as he had predicted, within minutes we were surrounded by sea birds--pelicans, gulls and Cormorants--and leaping porpoise! Stunningly beautiful. The whole experience was sacred and consoling, a very fitting send-off for two people who grew up near and loved the Pacific Ocean. Could not have been better, and Alex, Marlene and their wonderful sloop Silver Eagle made it so--along with a lot of help from Mother Nature. I had never sailed before, and Captain Alex let my wife and I hoist the main sail and take the helm during this great voyage. Because they didn't have another booking until the evening, we stayed out longer than our alotted time; they said they lived showing people a wonderful time at sea. The boat was spotlessly clean, and there were no diesel fumes, though we did run the engine when the wind wad down. You can't go wrong with these people--what a perfect memory we'll treasure forever.

We had a Great day on the Silver Eagle. Captain Alex and his wife Marlene were perfect hosts. The weather was perfect. The yacht was clean and beautiful. We were fortunate enough to get into a pod of dolphins. We will definitely do this again.

Went on an adventure today on a beautiful sailboat called the silver eagle. It was a beautiful day the weather was fabulous the seas were calm, Captain Alex and 1st mate Marlene were so fun. They really made our day, they even let my husband take the helm. If your looking for a fun relaxing excursion, I highly recommend this.

This was the perfect way for my family visiting from out of town to truly experience Southern California. Captain Alex and his first mate Marlene are the real deal when it comes to genuine hospitality. From the moment you arrive to the dock, you and your guests are warmly welcomed to board the "Silver Eagle" with Captain Alex and Marlene to assist with any food/beverage items that you may bring along. Once you set sail the views of the California Coast are unbelievable!!! Enhance your trip by creating a music playlist, bring a picnic, and a camera and get ready to have a fun, relaxing and memorable time with your loved ones. This powerboat rental fleet offers luxury motor yachts ranging from 37’ to 76’. Charters are available for two-hour harbor cruises and four-hour coastal excursions along the Santa Monica coastline, north to Malibu’s Paradise Cove and Keller’s shelter, or south to Redondo Beach and Palos Verdes. Full-day and multiple day charters are available to Catalina Island and the Channel Islands. Charters available up to 12 passengers when you take the helm with your U.S. Powerboat certification, or up to 6 passengers with our USCG-licensed captains.
