CRN

Italian superyacht builder CRN has had a strong month, recently announcing the sale of a custom 170-ft. yacht and the delivery of another 203-footer to its owner. The company said on Friday that it had delivered M/Y 137, called Voice , to the owner and the happy family is now using it for a maiden Mediterranean cruise. The yacht was designed by Nuvolari Lenard, who did both the concept for the interior and exterior.

M/Y 137 has five decks, with a master suite and five VIP staterooms, with the upper deck reserved for the owner. That means more than a bedroom, but also a separate lounge forward for privacy or entertaining friends. The yacht is also the first from the Italian shipyard to be IMO Tier III compliant, which means that nitrogen emissions have been cut by 70 percent.

CRN said in a separate statement that it will be building a custom 170-ft. all-aluminum yacht. Netherlands-based Omega Architects created the exterior concept, while Massair Design did the proposals for the interiors. CRN said both the interior and exterior were designed to mirror the client’s personality.

CRN

A sense of openness and space, but in a compact-looking profile, is becoming standard for next-gen yacht designs like this new 170-ft. CRN design that just found a new owner.  CRN

Design-wise, the yacht does look towards the future, with a low profile and vertical bow, and large windows along gunwales. There are also large exterior social areas on both the forward end and back in the cockpit, with a swimming pool and large swim platform. The upper and top decks also have open areas, though the upper deck has a lounge that allows for socializing and dining in air conditioning.

CRN said this new yacht will be its third successful collaboration with Netherlands-based Omega Architects. The other yachts were the 240-ft. Yalla and 203-ft. CRN M/Y 138, currently under construction.

The other yachts being built at CRN’s shipyard include the 236-ft. M/Y 139, 197-ft. M/Y 141 and the 203-ft. M/Y 138.

CRN Delivers 62 Metre Superyacht CRN 137 Voice

Italian shipyard  CRN  has delivered its 62 metre Nuvolari Lenard-designed superyacht CRN 137, which has been named Voice .

The yacht is now cruising the Mediterranean on its maiden voyage. It comes after the IMO Tier III certified superyacht first hit the water in November.

Ferretti Group chief operating officer Stefano de Vivo previously said the finished fully customised yacht sports a "really contemporary, fantastic design."

Completed at CRN's Ancona facility, CRN 137 was designed by Nuvolari Lenard inside and out, working closely with CRN's in-house technical facility.

The yard previously revealed that the yacht sports "the unmistakable all-Italian style of Nuvolari Lenard", with "rakish yet harmonious lines that seem to be shaped by the wind."

"The bow is vertical, not to follow the current trend, but to ensure maximum length in the water, thereby increasing speed and maximising the forward volumes, where the  tender garage  is located."

The layout comprises accommodation for 12 guests split across six cabins. The raised  owner's deck  boasts direct access to the al fresco dining area aft and the panoramic observation lounge forward.

Power comes from a pair of 2,011hp MTU 12V 4000 engines for a top speed of 16.5 knots.

M/Y Voice: A CRN bespoke masterpiece

The 62m custom superyacht is both an aesthetic and a technological marvel….

Image for article M/Y Voice: A CRN bespoke masterpiece

One of the most notable new yacht launches in the past year, the elegant 62m M/Y Voice was built by CRN Shipyard – a part of the Ferretti group. Voice was designed in collaboration with Italian architecture studio Nuvolari Lenard, who worked closely with the shipyard to develop the initial concept, as well as the interior and exterior styling. A fully-custom yacht that spans five decks, she can accommodate 12 guests across six cabins, arranged as an owner’s suite and five VIP cabins.   The customisation showcased in various elements of Voice demonstrates the CRN commitment to precisely fulfil the owner’s vision ; an ethos that is reflected in the yard’s payoff : “Made by you, with our own hands”. As for all CRN bespoke yachts, her owner was intricately involved in the creation of Voice and directly supervised the entire design and build process. The distinctive, aerodynamic, bold lines, that stand out for miles, and sharp profile of Voice was a particular area of focus for him, holding over 40 meetings with the dedicated shipyard’s project management team to ensure this specific element of the yacht’s design was exactly as he imagined. The unique smokey quartz coloured hull is a fully-custom replica of the shade that adorns the owner’s favorite car – a specific request from the client – which perfectly complements the silver sand superstructure and jet black details.   One of the stand-out features on board Voice is the state-of-the-art music system, reflecting a lifelong passion of the owner. The audio system throughout the yacht was meticulously designed to mirror the quality typically found within a music studio. To achieve the soundproofing requested by the owner and see a noise reduction of up to 60 decibels on board, 70 tonnes of insulating materials were used throughout Voice , with the build team focusing particularly on the partition bulkheads and internal dividing doors.   In addition to her stunning design, the owner was determined to create a high-performance vessel that outshone her peers in terms of technology and safety. As a result, Voice can achieve an impressive maximum speed of 16.5 knots with a range of 5,500 miles and is fully autonomous so can be sailed without the supervision of a chief engineer. Reflecting the needs of clients in the modern age, Voice features the highest standards of cyber security systems to protect all those on board, certified by Lloyd's Register.   Voice is the first CRN superyacht to earn IMO Tier III certification, to be followed by the others CRN fully-custom yachts currently under construction. This means her nitrogen oxide (NOx) exhaust emissions are 70% less than other yachts. A shining achievement for the shipyard, Voice is equipped with a state-out-the-art Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system that works by injecting urea in the exhaust system reducing the formation of NOx. The CRN technical engineering team worked tirelessly to develop this system that would deliver the results the owner wanted without detracting from the living space on board.   Following her delivery to her satisfied owner in the summer of 2020, Voice’s maiden voyage took place throughout the Mediterranean. A busy time for the shipyard, there are currently four other fully custom vessels in build at CRN Ancona shipyard: 62m M/Y 138, 72m M/Y 139, 60m M/Y 141 and 52m CRN M/Y 142.

CRN's Eco-Friendly Flagship M/Y 137 Delivered & Named Voice

By Jenna Mehdi

In a strong fortnight for the Italian yacht builder, CRN has announced the delivery of the 62m M/Y 137. Now named Voice, the latest project to emerge from the esteemed Ancona yard features a design by Nuvolari-Lenard.

There is no doubt Voice’s exterior design is particularly distinctive, even by the full custom standards for which CRN is internationally recognised. Marking something of an evolution for the yard, CRN has revealed in a statement that Voice’s sporty, aggressive profile and clean lines are resonant of the ‘powerful personality ’ of the owner.

Voice features an 11.5 metre beam and her anything-but-ordinary profile spans across five spacious decks. These include a master suite and five VIP cabins, making room for 12 guests onboard. The upper deck is entirely dedicated to the owner, with a suite to the stern and lounge at the bow offering panoramic sea views and entertaining space.

Proving she is more than just a pretty face, Voice is also the first CRN superyacht to earn IMO Tier III certification, marking a 70% reduction of harmful nitrogen oxide emissions. CRN is the first Italian shipyard to achieve this compliance, propelling the yard into the forefront of environmental consciousness as our industry grows more accountable than ever before.

As Voice departs the Ancona yard for her new home, CRN’s production line remains as busy as ever. In-build are the 62m M/Y 138, the 72m M/Y 139 and the 60m M/Y 141. This trio is soon to be joined by another fully custom project, the 52m M/Y 142, signed recently by Miami Yacht Access and Finakey SA.

VOICE features

VOICE is a bespoke 62m super yacht meticulously crafted to embody the Owners' unique vision. Reflective of its namesake, music holds profound significance in the lives of her Owner. Their desire for an immersive audio experience led to the integration of top-tier sound systems tailored for audiophiles.

The desired sound levels were deliberately kept to a minimum, surpassing the criteria necessary for the RINA classification society’s Comfort Class notation. Attaining these specifications wasn't merely a contractual obligation but also a source of engineering pride.

Crafted specifically for this vessel, the steel displacement hull features a bulbous bow beneath a sleek entry, meticulously designed and tested using CFD analysis and real-life simulations in a water tank. The exterior designs striking visual identity is enhanced by the personalized color scheme, including a smoky quartz hull, silver sand superstructure, and jet black detailing, all contributing to the yacht's unique and commanding presence.

Within the yacht's interiors, under the direction of Valentina Zannier, head of Nuvolari Lenard's interior division, lies a wealth of intricate detailing. One notable example, as pointed out by the yacht's architect, is a recurring geometric pattern adorning a custom-made rug and intricately fashioned wooden furniture crafted by List.

Equipped with the HUG scrubbing system and Selective Catalytic Reduction technology, the yacht achieves an impressive 70 percent reduction in total NOx emissions, in line with CRN's progressive standards. Furthermore, it has attained an additional AUT - UMS class notation, signifying its machinery's capacity to operate independently, without continuous engineer intervention.

Chris Richardson says

Every aspect of VOICE reflects a harmonious blend of luxury, personal taste, engineering genius, and a profound appreciation for the transformative power of music, making it a vessel truly tailored to the discerning preferences of her creators.

CRN Voice: Superyacht With Personality

yacht named voice

Powerful and modern exterior lines, very special color tone and unmistakable foredeck give new CRN yacht M/Y Voice certain personality. We spoke with Carlo Nuvolari about their newest CRN launch, and also about the trends in the super yacht industry

We had a chance to speak about the latest CRN superyacht called Voice with her designer Carlo Nuvolari, co-founder along with Dan Lenard of world known Italian architecture studio Nuvolari Lenard.

CRN Voice megayacht

The new 62-metre megayacht with an 11.50-metre spans five decks with a master suite and five VIP cabins to accommodate 12 guests in exquisite comfort. The upper deck is the owner’s exclusive domain, with a suite to the stern and a panoramic lounge at the bow offering total privacy and a space to entertain friends.

Taut yet fluid, the aerodynamic external lines lend the CRN Voice strong character and an inimitably Italian touch. The striking impression is reinforced with the personalised colours of her smoky quartz hull, silver sand superstructure and jet black details.

Voice has a modern exterior look, what were her design guidelines? The stylistic cue of Voice refers to a design that creates a forceful, dynamic, powerful and sporty impression. But her signature feature is the long cadence of her lines. The gunwale swings along and down in a smooth unbroken curve from bow to stern; this has been a visual hallmark of ours for many years and creates an impression of extreme length and fluidity.

The yacht is really sleek and conveys a feeling of extreme speed but at the same time is characterized by wide and bright interiors. Voice has a really strong personality, she is unmistakable and stands out for miles not only for her bespoke colours but for the aerodynamic, taut and fluid external lines, with a strong identity.

What would you say are the highlights of this project? A distinctive feature of Voice is her strong personality, combined with an extreme cleanliness of the lines and the research for essentiality that is unmistakably found in her extremely wide and uncluttered foredeck. A highlight is also the view of the panoramic lounge at the bow on the upper deck, which is the owner’s exclusive domain; it is a truly unique area that offers maximum privacy on board and can also become a social space.

Another notable characteristic, courtesy of CRN’s in-depth expertise in designing and building tailor-made yachts, is the meticulous attention to the finest detail. As with every yacht that we have helped to make with CRN, Voice has been crafted with pinpoint precision; some stainless-steel fittings are real masterpieces. Also, the veranda structure with panoramic windows under the tree on the top deck is a wonderful area for enjoying breathtaking views of the sea.

What else makes her a bespoke yacht? Voice, like every other yacht we have realized with CRN, is a fully custom yacht, there is nothing that has not been expressly conceived, designed and made to measure for her Owner. The Owner is a very determined person, he has transferred to us and CRN his clear vision and his enthusiasm. He wanted a yacht that would represent him, that would make a lasting mark. Owners of fully custom luxury yachts , first of all, want their vessel to represent them, to be as unique as they are. A result that we have certainly achieved, together with CRN, a highly distinctive yacht with a potent personality and yet an exquisite balance among all her component elements.

CRN Voice Superyacht

What do you think about environmental protection and its connection to yachting? I believe that there is a growing sensitivity in the sector and among Owners towards this issue. Installing hybrid or electric systems onboard, paying attention to the type of propulsion and decreasing the amount of fossil fuel burned are some of the main topics to be concerned about but there are many other factors to keep in mind. Among these, the behaviour of the Owners is also fundamental, such as making sure to navigate away from the coast, avoiding anchoring where there is seabed of particular value or avoiding unloading solid or liquid waste into the water. The topic is certainly felt but there is still awareness to be acquired. This is why it is important to promote dialogue on these issues; I commit myself on a personal level also because I live in Venice, a reality that is really exposed to this problem.

CRN Vioce exterior

The expertise of the CRN, vast experience in building custom yachts and dedication to every detail, is clearly visible on the yacht Voice, about which the shipyard based in Ancona was happy to tell us something more

Voice has a special color applied, whose wish was it and how did you select the exact tone? These dark, personalised, colours of the hull are a precise custom request: the Owner wanted to replicate the colours of one of his favourite cars. The CRN yacht project management dedicated team obtained fully-custom colours with a smokey quartz hull, silver sand superstructure and jet black details with a final striking result of changing colours depending on light reflections.

This yacht is the first yacht from CRN to be IMO Tier III compliant, what did this mean for project and design? Voice obtained IMO Tier III compliancy in early 2020 and will be followed by the other fully custom CRN yachts currently under construction. IMO Tier III requirements have been very important for the prevention of air pollution; the compliancy with the regulatory standards guarantees a certified reduction of 70% in harmful emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in engine exhaust gases. The project was coordinated and completed by CRN’s technical office engineering team with the installation of the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system that works by injecting urea in the exhaust system reducing the formation of NOx.

The modifications for the SCR implementation have affected the design of the Engine Rooms; the goal was to install the catalyst without taking anything away from the Owner’s living space. To achieve this result, the Engineering team focused on an extreme optimisation of the machinery layout and piping coordination (tubes, ducts, cable routing, etc.), which had to remain functional and accessible

As this yacht is built in Italy, did you use Italian craftmanship while shaping her? Italian craftsmanship played a crucial role in the creation of Voice and of course in the realization of all our bespoke yachts. At CRN we are proud to have an in-house select group of elite craftspeople: master shipwrights, welders, engine mechanics, electricians, production mechanics, instrument mechanics, joiners, carpenters, cabinetmakers, painters, plasterers, marble-workers, upholsterers, decorators, who, with their know-how, are always primed to provide bespoke solutions.

CRN also boasts an in-house carpentry, Zago (company part of Ferretti Group ) with over 110 years of history behind it and more than half a century of master cabinets makers know-how. These master craftspeople are a specialist all-Italian resource and their contribution brings a superlative level of minutely detailed customisation. CRN works also in collaboration with small and medium-sized enterprises. These excellent specialists and local Italian craftspeople underpin our long-term production continuity, working with total professionalism and flexibility.

The Voice Finale Recap: [Spoiler] Is Named the Winner of Season 25

All five of The Voice ’s finalists took a turn around the stage Tuesday night, but only one of them was doing a victory lap. Which? C’mon. You know the drill. Before we’d find out who won, we’d get a star-studded evening of entertainment, this one extra special owing to a celebration of the show’s 25th season featuring flashbacks galore. (Baby Adam Levine! Young Blake Shelton!)

the voice winners list

In hour No. 2, Yellowstone ’s wild-eyed Lainey Wilson — remember Ryan’s country-singer girlfriend Abby? —  really got the party started with her rollicking “Hang Tight, Honey” (after which Reba issued her official invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry). Kate Hudson proved that she’s as solid a singer as she is an actress on her ballad, “Glorious.” (On an unrelated note, her mod wedding dress was gorgeous, no?)

By and by, Season 23 winner Gina Miles gave what was touted as the first performance of her new single, a cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”… even though she’d sung that same ballad in her season’s Playoffs. (Huh?) Carson Daly gave a shout-out to the late Debra Byrd and Ernie Fields Jr., who’d played integral roles in the music on The Voice over the years. And Jelly Roll performed “I’m Not OK” to let me know that his name is not just something that they’d make on the Great British Baking Show .

THE VOICE -- “Live Finale Part 2” Episode 2517B -- Pictured: Dan + Shay with Karen Waldrup -- (Photo by: Tyler Golden/NBC)

As for the coach/contestant duets, Dan + Shay’s team-up with Karen Waldrup on Lady A’s “You Look Good” sounded (damn) good, though I wouldn’t have minded if the contestant’s mic volume had been turned up a smidgen. On Joe Bonamassa’s version of “Feelin’ Good,” John Legend brought out the best in Bryan Olesen. (But why was the EGOT winner dressed like Fonzie?)

yacht named voice

Finally, in the moment of truth, Carson Daly announced that the audience had voted into…

Fifth Place Karen Waldrup (Team Dan + Shay)

Fourth Place Nathan Chester (Team John Legend) — Nooo! Gutted!

Third Place Bryan Olesen (Team John Legend)

Runner-Up Josh Sanders (Team Reba McEntire)

Winner Asher HaVon (Team Reba McEntire)

So, your thoughts about the results? And the season as a whole? Vote in the polls below, then read Asher’s take on the competition here .

Can someone explain to me how Nathan came in 4th??????

Mystified by this outcome but Asher was a deserving winner. I though Nathan had the win for sure.

My theory is he and Asher had all the same fans ( am one) and it came down to more choosing Asher to win and then he ended up in fourth because it.

It’s insane though. He should have been second.

I think he was always over hyped on here, sounding more like the next Broadway star than radio one. As much as John and some others might love the throwbacks, more wanted something a bit more modern. He also came off cheesy and too polished; not as sincere. Personally I am surprised Karen didn’t rank higher.

Agreed. Spot on.

Country vote was split, and Josh is clearly the more appealing artist.

Agreed. I thought Nathan and Karen were the two best.

No. There is no explanation

Agree that Nathan was a much better performer and so much more fun to watch.

Than Chester should have won!!!

First time a coach has placed 1st and 2nd?

Blake did it in season 3

The show was entirely too long. Would have enjoyed it more with just coaches and their singers singing on the stage. Too many other entertainers made it way too long. Took away from the 5 finalists……

Yes too many professional singers I didn’t care to see and lots of stuff about the coaches. Twenty Five years of the coaches where was anything showing the different winners of the Voice. The Voice always focuses on the coaches and not the contestants. In a two hour show how much time did the actual finalists have? The American Idol Finale is so much better.

The show, “The Voice” has always been about which coach can win with the best voice. That is why it is focused on how many seasons a coach has won. American Idol is all about the artist and developing the next “American Idol”. I watch both of them because I love music and love the variety of music on both shows. This year both shows were awesome!

Sorry to say, Bryan coming in ahead of Nathan is a total travesty. Top two should have been Nathan and Asher. I loved both of them so I’m happy that one of the truly deserving singers actually won.

IMO, the correct person won, but the finalist order was completely wrong.

It should’ve been: 1. Asher* 2. Nathan* 3. K Dub 4. Josh …then Bryan (who should have been sent home weeks ago, tbh)

*Asher & Nathan were the MOST talented, and it could’ve gone either way between them.

That’s what I predicted it to be. Boy was wrong.

Nathan came in 4th??!!! Who was voting?! Really happy for Asher but the rest of the results make no sense.

Bryan is an extremely likable guy who absolutely has talent. But to come in ahead of Karen and Nathan? Nope, I was surprised when Karen was announced as 5th. My jaw dropped when Nathan was announced as 4th. I hope I get to see him live in his post-Voice career. So happy for Asher! What a voice!

Nathan was robbed and should have placed higher. Bryan, ahead of Nathan and Karen, really wrong. I am ok with Asher winning; he needs some polish and hopefully will get to work with some quality people. Felt bad for Chance. I think all the pleasant girls cancelled each other out last week.

Thought it was a great season!! Reba and John rocked as coaches. Could not get past season 24, where there was amazing talent, especially Huntley. I am a 65+ senior rocker, who loves music. A whole evening of ballads that were not familiar with… well, just remember we vote too. Bryan was my guy, season25

Thrilled and happy for Asher.

Do not understand Nathan coming fourth AT ALL.

Loved seeing Gina Miles again and singing Wicked Game, love that she’s put out as a single.

Dang. How did Nathan come in 4th??? He should have been either 1st or 2nd. I’m happy for Asher though.

As soon as Nathan was revealed as being in 4th place, I got nervous about who was going to win. I was so sure he and Asher were going to be Top Two, and when he was in 4th, I was a bit concerned that neither of the two that I felt deserved Top Two were going to place that high.

Both Nathan and Asher cancelled each other out in the votes, were in similar lanes. And I believe same happened with the country duo. Leaving Bryan to soar in a lane all to himself. Enjoyed the show tonight. Always tape it and start watching an hour in so I can fast forward through the ads and the “poor” performances. Looking forward to Snoop Dog and Michael Buble next season

Both Nathan & Asher were good enough to deserve this win. They were the best by far. . There’s an unwritten rule, which the coaches likely know well after 25 seasons: a black coach cannot win with a black singer. . That explains why John was pushing the fab Asher, knowing the equally fab Nathan could not win with him. That explains why Chance chimed in to favor Asher, rather than Nathan. And why Chance gave up Noivas, 2 years ago, to Blake, just before Playoffs, expecting him to have a good chance to win with Shelton. . In 25 turns, the only black coach to win with a black singer was Alicia Keys with the fab Chris Blue. Perhaps the fact that Alicia is such a class act made it work. Of course John is also classy, as was Usher & Pharrell; and while they have won, it was never with a black talent. . Given that Josh came in second, I suspect most of Reba’s vote went to him. Thus it was John & Chance’s voters who gave Asher the edge. Which explains too, how Brian ended up with more than Nathan. . As for Karen being last, no idea. I had her Top 3. I guess the country vote favored the guy.

Do you really think that many people vote by race? I don’t.

Just saying it’s enough of a factor that black coaches seem to realize a deserving black talent will need a white coach to win.

A black guy won and you are complaining because his coach wasn’t black. Some people are never satisfied. Asher had the best Voice, and he had the best coach, because she saw it from the start and held on tight. Brilliant!

I’m a White Southerner who likes all kinds of music. I am not complaining about Asher & Reba winning. I’m quite glad Asher won, I just slightly preferred Nathan. I did not care much for the other three; my other faves, Madison & Maddi Jane, were not in the Finale. . What I was trying to do was figure out why John was pushing Asher instead of Nathan; and why Chance joined in. When I reviewed 25 seasons to check my hypothesis, it checked out. I feel it worth stating.

This explains alot. Thanks. I have always been frustrated with the fact that great, talented black contestants do not win or even place high in the Voice finale. I am happy with the Asher win but the only time I voted this season was for Nathan, but figured I was biased because he specialized in songs from my era!!

A lot of very talented white singers don’t win either.

Of course. While I do think it harder for black vocalists to get the win, I am usually happy with the show so long as most of the talented singers get to the few rounds. . This time was unique bc, talent-wise, the top two were both black & male, imo. That probably meant neither would win, due people who liked their music & performances being a split vote. . Given that, probably John & Chance decided best option for one of the deserving two to win was favoring just one. Their assessment may’ve been based on just this season. But I imagine it was informed by the longer history I surmised.

I appreciate your response. Likewise, only times I voted this season were for Nathan. I clicked with his vocals & his vitality. And yes, his songs were from my era too. . The way John pushed Asher over his own super-talent was so out of character, that I believed there had to be a meaningful reason. My check of winning singers & coaches led to my inference. It helps explain Chance’s decision over Noivas 2 years ago & Nathan now. . Sad to say, though. I wish it wasn’t so.

Interesting insight, glad you pointed out that “The Voice” is about which coach wins with who we think has the best voice.

Congratulations to Asher. I am happy for him. I’m just very disappointed for everyone else. I wish the rest of the artist the very best. Thank you for putting on a great show. :)

Karen and Nathan should have one and two.

Agreed! He should have been 1st or 2nd along with Karen!

First, Asher deserved the win hands down. Nathan is a great performer, vocal impressionist and singer in his own right but his cheesiness and inauthenticity was summed up in his faux exuberance for being named fourth runner up. “Let’s Go!!!!!”

I know he had what it yes 😏 😌 😉 ☺ 😊.

So glad Asher won!! His tone and range are amazing. Nathan should have been second, I enjoyed Bryan’s performances a lot but he didn’t have the voice Asher or Nathan have.

Person preference, IMHO Tae is a better country singer than Josh or Karen. But a lot of people seem to like the low gravely country style Josh has.

I thought the coaches were great this season. Chance had great insights and suggestions plus being a nice human being. I’m not a rap fan but really appreciated his approach.

Very disappointed that Nathan came in 4th, but if Nathan couldn’t win, then I’m happy Asher did.

I am happy that finally the Voice winner is a person of color! Year after year the best performer has been black or brown but never has won. Asher was a brilliant vocalist and cool performer!! (Btw I am a straight, white senior)

I didn’t realize it was about race. I thought it was talent and appeal.

The very first season there was a black winner.

Glad to see Reba get a win!

YAY!! So glad Asher won! He clearly deserved the win, & I send him good karma & prayers on his upcoming journey! Still scratching my head at how the others were placed, though, but good show! :)

Tired Jelly Roll joke is tired. How long have you been sitting on that one?

Shocked that Nathan did not win, absolutely shocked and how Bryan finished about him is nuts!

Happy Asher won, but was rooting for Nathan, ever since he started singing back in the blinds!

Asher HaVon Named ‘The Voice’ Season 25 Winner, Finale Results Light up the Internet

by Lauren Boisvert May 21, 2024, 10:01 pm

Asher HaVon has been named the winner of The Voice on tonight’s Live Finale, and America went wild with celebration. After a night of epic performances from the coaches, contestants, and special guests, the show named its winner.

Videos by American Songwriter

Directly following a performance by Jelly Roll of his new song “I’m Not Okay,” The Voice looked back on 25 seasons, sharing messages from former coaches.

Finally, it was time for the winner to be named. The contestants thanked their coaches first, sharing their love and gratitude. In fifth place was Karen Waldrup, fourth was Nathan Chester, third was Bryan, with Josh in second place and Asher crowned champion.

Safe to say a good chunk of fans were pleased with the outcome. “First time in a long time I have ever really been excited for the winner,” a fan wrote on X.

ASHER ACTUALLY WON, AS HE SHOULD, AMERICA GOT IT RIGHT!! #TheVoice pic.twitter.com/KBgJW5NNOx — nina 🪩📨 (@ninabubblygum) May 22, 2024

However, as is the case every year, not all fans were vibing with the end results—namely, Chester’s placing. “Nathan was robbed,” one X user wrote . “No way 4th place. Should have been no. 1 or no. 2.”

The Voice Names Asher HaVon Champion Following a Night of Celebration

The Voice has been celebrating 25 seasons all night, with duet performances, special guests, and former judge appearances. Thomas Rhett opened the show with a performance of his new single “Beautiful As You,” appearing in the back of a vintage pickup truck. He gave a shout-out to Reba McEntire, saying “I love you Reba” at the end of his performance while she gave him a standing ovation. Additionally, Dan + Shay were singing along as they watched.

Dan + Shay then performed a duet with their contestant Karen Waldrup, singing “You Look Good” by Lady A. They kicked off the duets on an elaborate tiered stage with a sign on the screen behind them with their names in lights. The next duet was John Legend and Bryan Olesen, who sang the Joe Bonamassa arrangement of “Feeling Good.”

Reba McEntire took the stage with Josh Sanders to sing Randy Houser’s “Back to God.” The stage was elaborately set with greenery and a church on the screen behind them as they sang. Overall, the celebration was fitting for the 25th season, taking time to look back on past seasons while also looking forward to the future of the show.

What Has Gina Miles Been Up to Since Winning The Voice Season 23?

Miles was named the ultimate victor of Season 23 under the Coaching guidance of Niall Horan.

yacht named voice

Throughout 25 seasons of NBC's The Voice , only one Coach has ever managed to guide two consecutive contestants to final victory. That would be Niall Horan , who won Seasons 23 and 24 alongside Artists  Gina Miles  and Huntley , respectively. The former musician will return to the stage this evening for a special performance during the show's Season 25 Finale .

How to Watch

"Music is a place I have always felt at home," Miles wrote in a message  posted to her official website . "It was involved in all aspects of my life — from family, to school, to my free time. I never thought that all the time I spent writing songs would amount to anything. But soon I realized that the best part of singing is sharing it with people. I want to tell stories that remind you, you aren't ever alone. Music is something that brings people together, and I hope to do that with mine. We're on this journey together, one step at a time."

What Has Gina Miles Been Doing Since Winning The Voice Season 23?

Miles' first live performance after winning  The Voice  took place in June 2023 when she sang the national anthem at a firefighter graduation in Sacramento, California (she moved out west  in her junior year of high school  to pursue a career in music). In the fall, she opened for Jewel at The Venue at Thunder Valley and returned to her hometown of Paxton, Illinois for a gig at The Cadillac .

Miles, who won the competition at just 18-years-old, clinched a deal with Republic Records (a subsidiary of Universal Music Group) following the conclusion of Season 23. However, she has yet to release her debut album. But last summer she gave fans a little taste of what she'd been working on with the debut of a new track entitled "Someone New." At the moment, Miles' only collection of original tracks can be found in the 2022 EP,  Who Are You . Appearing as a guest on KCRA-TV (an NBC affiliate station in Sacramento) last fall, Miles explained how her compositions following The Voice have become more autobiographical.

"[For] my EP, I wrote a lot of things that were not my own experience — just writing stories," she said. "And now it's become more of a diary, so it's really exciting to have those new creative inspirations to draw from."

Her cover of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" — which she sang  in The Voice Playoffs  — became available on all music streaming platforms this past Friday.

Niall Horan appeared via video to introduce his Season 23 winner, Gina Miles, who sang "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak. Looking like a superstar in a black dress, Miles' ache-y, sublime vocals took center stage in this arresting performance.

Which Artists Are in The Voice Top 5?

The final crop of contestants on The Voice Season 25 includes Bryan Olesen (Team Legend), Josh Sanders (Team Reba), Asher HaVon (Team Reba), Karen Waldrup (Team Dan + Shay), and Nathan Chester (Team Chance).

'The Voice': Bryan Olesen moves John Legend to tears with emotional ballad in finale lead-up

yacht named voice

If there's any time to ham it up on "The Voice, " it's during the cutthroat season finale.

The Top 5 contestants brought their A game for the first part of the NBC singing competition's Season 25 conclusion. On Monday, the singers were tasked with showcasing their musical versatility by performing an up-tempo song and ballad.

Team Legend's Nathan Chester got things off to a rockin' start with his performance of "It's Your Thing" by The Isley Brothers . He later sang a stirring rendition of Donny Hathaway’s "A Song for You."

The 28-year-old floored coach John Legend with his infectious soul-pop growl and smooth dance moves on "It's Your Thing."

"You outdid yourself," Legend told Chester. "You performed it with such exuberance and skill and energy (and) electricity. It was incredible."

Here's what else went down on Monday's episode.

Josh Sanders excites Reba McEntire with 'fun' Randy Houser cover

Josh Sanders of Team Reba channeled his inner country powerhouse with dynamite covers of Vince Gill's "Go Rest High on That Mountain" and "Boots On" by Randy Houser.

Sanders charmed with his performance of Houser's "Boots On," letting loose with some suave hip movements onstage and delivering a gritty cowboy growl to match.

"You're so much fun to watch," coach Reba McEntire told Sanders. "I loved the performance you did. You were growling at the right time, and everybody was screaming having a great time."

John Legend calls Asher HaVon 'the best vocalist' on 'The Voice'

Team Reba's Asher HaVon brought out the big guns − vocally − with mesmerizing performances of "Last Dance" by Donna Summer and Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You."

HaVon got into the groove and dazzled with his gospel-inflected performance of the Summer disco classic, with Legend suggesting HaVon has found his musical niche.

"I truly believe you’re the best vocalist in this competition," Legend said. "Maybe this is a lane that you should consider. … Some of the best artists in disco and house were gospel-trained and have that voice. It fit you like a glove."

Bryan Olesen moves coach John Legend to tears with emotional ballad

Bryan Olesen of Team Legend brought his rock 'n' roll swagger once again with electric renditions of "Beautiful Things" by Benson Boone and George Michael's "Freedom! '90."

Olesen's soaring performance of "Beautiful Things" struck an emotional chord with Legend. The 50-year-old touchingly referenced the death of his mother in a prerecorded interview previewing the performance.

"I was so moved by it because it feels like when you're singing it that you know what it means to lose something," a teary-eyed Legend said. "I really felt it."

Dan + Shay praises country singer Karen Waldrup as ‘iconic’

Team Dan + Shay's Karen Waldrup upped the showmanship with concert-caliber performances of Rascal Flatts’ "What Hurts the Most" and "I'm Alright" by Jo Dee Messina .

Waldrup tugged at the heartstrings and solidified her country prowess with her heartfelt cover of "What Hurts the Most."

"That was iconic. … That felt like a Grammy performance," Dan Smyers said, with Shay Mooney adding, "I’m just so proud of you. Welcome to the country music community."

Huawei Recognized as a Customers' Choice in Gartner® Peer InsightsTM Voice of the Customer for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage for Third Year Running

[Shenzhen, China, May 22, 2024] Huawei was named a Customers' Choice in the 2024 Gartner Peer Insights™ Voice of the Customer report for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage, marking the third consecutive year that it has received the distinction. According to the Gartner report, Huawei earned 100% for "Willingness to Recommend" for its OceanStor Scale-Out Storage.

award

Huawei recognized as a Customers' Choice in Gartner Peer Insights TM for third year in a row

Gartner Peer Insights is a free peer review and ratings platform designed for enterprise software and services decision makers. Reviews are organized by products in live markets that align to Gartner research markets, defined as Magic Quadrant or Market Guide-defined markets, or GPI-defined markets that are opened at the discretion of the GPI team and do not require research published to open the space on Peer Insights. A total of 10 vendors were recognized in the Voice of Customer report. Huawei received 119 comments from customers in the telecom, finance, healthcare, services and manufacturing industries across the Asia Pacific, Europe, and Middle East regions and had the highest number of reviews among recognized vendors.

A customer in the energy and utilities industry commented: "We chose this product for our local data center project, which is our digital oil field foundations. The product is easy to deploy and quick to expand and upgrade, and also has a very good compatibility for other hardware and software.... After deploying this product, the database and app performance is greatly improved (at least more than 10 times faster than before). The private cloud platform is finally working perfectly with VMs HA and supports failover on the unified storage." [1]

Another customer, this time a cloud architect from the IT industry, also spoke highly of Huawei's Scale-Out storage: "Good product. We have a good performance with a unique geo-redundant solution in 4 different data centers. The geo-redundant cluster feature helps to reduce the costs and gives us the possibility to write data in all active-active mode.... We notice that the time to write 1 TB of data on disk is very short and this meets our business goal." [2]

"It is a great honor for Huawei to obtain a Customers' Choice from Gartner Peer InsightsTM for scale-out storage once again. We believe the results demonstrate the recognition and trust of our customers around the world in the comprehensive competitiveness, maturity of large-scale commercial use, and after-sales service quality of Huawei OceanStor scale-out storage.” Yuan Yuan, President of Huawei Scale-Out Storage Domain said. He added: "We value each and every one of our customer's voices. They encourage us to continue making great strides in our product development. We will prioritize customer-centricity and develop a unified scale-out storage platform to assist users across industries in creating more flexible, greener, and more accessible data infrastructure in the future."

Heat Star Bam Adebayo Appears to Voice His Displeasure With All-NBA Snub

Tom dierberger | 13 hours ago.

Heat center Bam Adebayo looks for a foul call during the first quarter against the Celtics in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series.

The NBA announced its three All-NBA teams for the 2023–24 season Wednesday, a list that recognizes the 15 best players in the league.

Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić were two unanimous choices for the All-NBA First Team. But one player who was left off the list was Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo.

Shortly after the All-NBA teams were announced by Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Draymond Green on TNT's Inside the NBA show, Adebayo logged onto social media and posted a GIF about his thoughts on the matter.

pic.twitter.com/c2pghLth0R — 13am Adebayo💥 (@Bam1of1) May 23, 2024

Adebayo, a three-time NBA All-Star and five-time member of the All-Defensive team, has yet to earn an All-NBA nod in seven seasons. He received one All-NBA Second Team vote and four All-NBA Third Team votes from the panel of 99 media members, far short of what he needed to earn the honor.

In 71 games this season, Adebayo averaged 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals per contest. He helped the Heat claim the No. 8 playoff seed in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament, but Miami lost to the top-seeded Boston Celtics in the first round in five games.

Adebayo has two years remaining on the five-year, $163 million contract extension he signed in 2020. He could land another contract extension soon, but he won't be able to sign a supermax deal after not making an All-NBA team this season.

‘Angered’ Scarlett Johansson declined offer from OpenAI before company used voice ‘eerily similar’ to hers

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

Scarlett Johansson says she declined an offer from OpenAI to voice the artificial intelligence research organization’s new ChatGPT 4.0 system, “Sky,” which she feels sounds exactly like her.

The actress told Page Six in a statement Monday that she received the offer in September 2023 from CEO Sam Altman.

“He told me that he felt that by my voicing the system, I could bridge the gap between tech companies and creatives and help consumers to feel comfortable with the seismic shift concerning humans and Al. He said he felt that my voice would be comforting to people,” she claimed.

“After much consideration and for personal reasons, I declined the offer.”

Scarlett Johansson

After OpenAI held a live demonstration of the voice last week, Johansson, 39, said her “friends, family and the general public all noted how much the newest system named ‘Sky’ sounded like” her.

In fact, she pointed out that many compared “Sky” to her voice in the the 2013 film “Her,” which is about a man who falls in love with “Samantha,” the female voice of his computer’s operating system.

“When I heard the released demo, I was shocked, angered and in disbelief that Mr. Altman would pursue a voice that sounded so eerily similar to mine that my closest friends and news outlets could not tell the difference,” Johansson told us, going on to mention that Altman “even insinuated that the similarity was intentional” when he tweeted the word “her” after the company announced the new ChatGPT version.

Two days prior, Johansson claimed Altman asked her to “reconsider” the offer, but before they could “connect,” the “Sky” demo was released.

Therefore, she said she was “forced to hire legal counsel,” who sent Altman and OpenAl two letters “asking to detail the exact process by which they created the ‘Sky’ voice.”

According to the movie star, that’s when “OpenAl reluctantly agreed to take down the ‘Sky’ voice.”

She explained, “In a time when we are all grappling with deepfakes and the protection of our own likeness, our own work, our own identities, I believe these are questions that deserve absolute clarity.

“I look forward to resolution in the form of transparency and the passage of appropriate legislation to help ensure that individual rights are protected.”

NPR was first to report the news.

Scarlett Johansson

Late Sunday night — just one day after Johansson’s husband, Colin Jost, joked about the ordeal on “Saturday Night Live” — OpenAI announced via X , “We’ve heard questions about how we chose the voices in ChatGPT, especially Sky. We are working to pause the use of Sky while we address them.”

The company also dropped a link to one of their blog posts , which claimed, “Sky’s voice is not an imitation of Scarlett Johansson but belongs to a different professional actress using her own natural speaking voice.”

OpenAI said they would not reveal the woman’s name “to protect [her] privacy.”
