Polboat Yachting Festival 2023

polboat yacht festival

On July 27-30, we invite you to the next edition of the Polboat Yachting Festival, where we will represent the shipyards of which we are the exclusive distributor in Poland and Montenegro: Frauscher Boats, Excess Catamarans, Wauquiez and Tofinou.

At the show, we will have the pleasure to present the Frauscher 858 Fantom Air motor boat, which will have its Polish premiere during this year’s event in Gdynia. This boat is from the range of Frauscher Boats, a family-owned Austrian yacht brand, where the tradition of building boats has been passed down from generation to generation for almost a hundred years. Innovation and cutting-edge design are deeply rooted in Frauscher Boats’ DNA. It was the Austrian shipyard, to be one of the first in history, to build boats with electric drive, which were allowed to cruise on the lake where the very founder of the Frauscher brand set up his boatbuilding facilities. Currently, the shipyard offers a wide range of motor day-cruisers and electric models that can be an excellent choice for inland navigation in places where diesel-powered boats are impermissible.

The 858 Fantom AIR is an extraordinary day cruiser with a unique design and aesthetics. The boat is equipped with a 320 hp engine, the power of which can be optionally increased to 430 hp. AIR is the open-deck version of the popular 858 Fantom. It offers two lounge areas, two aft sunbathing mattresses attached to the bathing platform and comfortable seating with a cocktail table that can be converted into a large sun lounger.

We are at your disposal throughout the fair on the Frauscher Air 858 at stand A31 and stand 9.

See you at the Polboat Yachting Festival in Gdynia!

GDYNIA, Poland: The third edition of the POLBOAT YACHTING FESTIVAL concluded successfully on July 24, 2022, in Gdynia, Poland. The Festival was held at one of Poland’s most modern Polish yacht marinas – Marina Yacht Park in Gdynia, owned by the PHN Group.

More than 20,000 visitors visited around 100 vessels from leading Polish shipyards and foreign ones available on the Polish market. The four-day non-ticketed event also witnessed over a dozen premieres, including several world premieres.

Michał Bak, General Secretary at POLBOAT , said: “We are very pleased with this year’s edition. The organization of the Festival this year was very intensive because, in addition to the nearly 50% larger number of exhibitors, we prepared an attractive program rich in water sports shows – jet skis, flyboarding, kayaking, jet boarding as well as a number of accompanying events, boat premieres, business meetings, cocktails, because the Polboat Festival is a great opportunity to meet for the whole industry, in particular the members of the Polboat. It was quite a challenge to coordinate this and we are pleased with the final success.”

Michał Bak added: “The weather was good, so visitors this year were also a record number, and most importantly, we already have the first information about the vessels sold at the Gdynia floating show, although compared to last year, you can see a certain difference in the demand for new boats resulting from rising boat prices and high inflation in Poland.”

During this year’s event, other important issues were also discussed, such as the development of vocational education for the yachting industry on the example of Saxdor Academy, investing in yachts, communication systems, ESG in business or the problem of ocean pollution.

Over the weekend, the POLBOAT organized a special edition of the Grow Boating project #ZostanWodniakiem, i.e. free cruises on sailing and motor yachts for those who would just like to discover a new passion and join thousands of people spending their time on the water.

5 things to know before you head to Dallas's first AAPI Dragon Boat Festival at White Rock Lake

polboat yacht festival

You've seen cars race, horses race and you might have even seen pigs race. But have you ever seen dragons race?

This Sunday you'll have your chance.

15 Dragon boat teams will race for the title of the Golden Dragon of Dallas along a 200-meter course at White Rock Lake on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Month, the City of Dallas, the National Association of Asian American Professionals and the Dallas Delite Dragon Boat Team joined forces to present the 1st Annual AAPI Heritage & Dragon Boat Festival.

Cristine Kao, of Dallas United Crew and Coach of the Dragon Boat Program says that although a number of rowing regattas have taken place at Dallas' White Rock Lake, this is the first time Dragon Boats have raced there.

Here are a few things you'll want to know before you head out to the races.

1. The sport is VERY old

The sport of Dragon boat racing dates back to southern central China more than 2500 years ago and is linked to the legend of Qu Yuan, a poet who was falsely accused of treason. Out of disappointment in the Chu monarch, Qu Yuan drowned himself in the Miluo River. The common people rushed to the water and tried to recover his body, but they failed. In commemoration of Qu Yuan, the people held dragon boat races on the day of his death, a tradition that continues to this day.

2. Dragon boats are different than crew or rowing boats

You might think it's the mythical Asian-style dragon head on the bow and a dragon tail at the rear is what sets these boats apart, and while that's true, the biggest difference is the number of people on the boat and how the boat is propelled through the water.

"A dragon boat hosts 22 people" says Kao. "There are 20 paddlers, one person at the front using a drum to set the pace for the racers, and one person in the back steering the boat. In crew or rowing, you'll only have eight people in a boat. And in a crew boat, participants sit backwards while rowing, whereas in a dragon boat, you face forward and paddle like a canoe."

3. Employees from the Dallas Mavericks have a boat in the race

15 teams will be competing at this 1st annual Dragon Boat festival. Corporate teams from ABC fitness, Verizon and the Dallas Mavericks are in the line-up. And community teams from Houston and Austin and Dallas United Crew's Breast Cancer Survivor Team are also part of the roster.

4. The best place to watch the races is at the Bath House Cultural Center

The finish line is on the banks of White Rock Lake right in front of the Bath House.

Kao says you'll see a spectacular three boat finish every time the boats race.

"It's a beautiful backdrop with the City of Dallas and downtown in the background. If you're standing in front of the Bath House looking at the dragon boats on the water. It truly will be spectacular to see."

5. This festival includes more than just Dragon Boat Races. Enjoy a day full of fun

The family-friendly event celebrates the rich diversity of the AAPI Community in North Texas with cultural performances from local music and dance groups, hands-on workshops, a vendor market and a Tai Chi and Kung Fu demonstration. Inside the Bath House visitors can explore the Becoming Texans, Becoming Americans photography exhibition or catch a screening of the documentary Hear Me Roar . And of course no festival is complete without food trucks and vendors and this one is no different with food from all around Asia available for purchase.

There will also be an official proclamation from the office of the mayor and an Eye Dotting ceremony—a ritual in which a symbolic red dot is placed on the eye of dragon. The ceremony is said to empower the creature to bring about protection, good luck, health, and prosperity for those present. The eyes also reflect the spirit of the creature, so having its eyes dotted is the last step before it comes to life.

The 68th Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival begins in Fort Walton Beach. Here's what to know

polboat yacht festival

For 67 years, Captain Billy Bowlegs and his krewe have descended upon Fort Walton Beach for a weekend filled with debauchery, revelry and good times with the residents of Fort Walton Beach.

This weekend, for the 68th time, Captain Billy, his pirate queen and his merry band of miscreants look to invade the city, much to the chagrin of Fort Walton Beach Mayor Dick Rynearson.

Here is everything you need to know about the annual pirate festival.

Festival History

Whether you just moved into town, are a tourist here for the weekend or are a reporter for the Northwest Florida Daily News experiencing the festival for the first time, we would like to get you up to speed on what makes the annual pirate festival a hit with locals.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

It all started in 1953, when a group of business leaders called the Fort Walton Beach Jaycees, short for junior members of The Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce , wanted to create a family-friendly event that would attract tourists from far and wide to the "Playground of the Emerald Coast."

The festival takes inspiration from Mardi Gras celebrations in Mobile, Alabama, and the Gasparilla Pirate Festival in Tampa. Ted Corcoran, Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce president, said the Labor Day water ski show, which was held for around three years prior, turned into a three-day festival that we now know as "The Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival" in 1955.

Nathan Fleet, a downtown Fort Walton Beach business owner, was selected as the first Captain Billy Bowlegs and led the first pirate raid against the city. Since then, a new "Billy" has been chosen each year. Bill Kilpatrick will lead the invasion for the 68th Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival, with Pirate Queen Sharen Burt along his side.

Until recently, the event was usually held in June. But after the festival was canceled for the first time in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it returned to a new date held in May. The event can now be seen as a "kickoff party" to the summer season in Fort Walton Beach.

Who is Billy Bowlegs?

The Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival celebrates a figure who holds a significant place in Seminole history, yet much of the festival's portrayal is misaligned with the real Billy Bowlegs. Contrary to popular belief, Billy Bowlegs wasn't an individual person — rather, the name of three Seminole chiefs who spent no time in Northwest Florida.

According to the Krewe of Bowlegs website, William Augusts Bowles was born into a wealthy Maryland Tory family in 1763 and began his military career with the British Army during the American Revolution when he was 13.

By December 1778, Bowles first appeared in Northwest Florida when he landed in Pensacola but missed the return boat to his ship. Once he returned, he was dismissed from service for dereliction of duty without a trial. Stuck in Pensacola, Bowles joined the Creek tribes and frequented various areas in our area.

After integrating with other tribes in Florida, like the Seminoles and Cherokee, Bowles traveled to Nova Scotia, England, and the Bahamas to garner support for creating a free state for Native Americans in the southeastern United States. Despite setbacks and imprisonments, Bowles declared war against Spain and the United States in his pursuit of sovereignty.

This led to a breaking point in 1803 when Bowles was captured and imprisoned by Benjamin Hawkins, an Indian agent and future senator from North Carolina. Hawkins orchestrated his arrest during a conference at Tukabatchee, one of the four "mother towns" of the Muscogee Creek Confederacy, after Bowles proclaimed himself as "king of all the Indian nations."

Bowles was handed over to Spanish authorities and imprisoned in Morro Castle prison in Havana, Cuba, where he later died in 1805.

His biography on the website claims that Bowles and the State of Muskogee were the catalyst for the removal of the Seminole tribe from Florida and led to the First Seminole War, which the U.S. Naval Historical Center says began in 1816.

Timeline of events

Below is the schedule of events for the 68th annual Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival in Fort Walton Beach. According to event organizers on Facebook , "a pirate never let a little rain get in the way of a great time."

According to a forecast released by the National Weather Service in Mobile, the Northwest Florida Daily News coverage area is expected to get 4-plus inches of rain through the weekend.

Thursday, May 16

A pre-invasion meet and greet will occur from 4 to 6 p.m. between Burrito del Sol and Parlor Doughnuts on Ferry Road SE. The day's festivities will include a Little Scallywags Pirate Walk, held simultaneously on Miracle Strip Parkway, where kids can gain loot and treasures from local businesses.

Friday, May 17

Day two of the 68th annual Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival will coincide with Concerts at the Landing , with a performance by The Midnight Shepherds at 6 p.m.

At 7 p.m., Captian Bowlegs and his merry krewe are expected to observe the city defenses before his arrival on Saturday. Because of this, Mayor Dick Rynearson has called for the arrest of Capitan Billy Bowlegs and asked for the U.S. Army's 6th Ranger Battalion to aid the Fort Walton Beach Police Department in defending Fort Walton Beach.

Following the skirmish , fireworks will signal the end of the day's festivities at 8:45 p.m.

Saturday, May 17

As Rynearson licks his wounds after Captain Billy escapes from jail, residents and tourists can enjoy local vendors and food trucks at 10 a.m. at The Landing. From 11:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Meg Phillips and Mile Zero will provide live music at The Landing's main stage.

About 3:30 p.m., Capitan Bowlegs will announce his arrival by cannon fire as his ship passes beneath the Brooks Bridge as his merry band makes their way to The Landing, where the mayor will succumb to Captain Billy's regalia. From there, a pirate celebration will continue into the evening, with Bradley Gaskin's performance at 5 p.m. at The Landing stage.

Monday, May 20

As a final showing of defiance toward the mayor, a torchlight parade will end Captain Billy's weekend-long reign as they celebrate another successful capture of Fort Walton Beach.

The festivities begin at 7 p.m., when Captain Billy and his Krewe of Bowlegs will travel up Eglin Parkway, between Ferry Avenue and Hughes Street, tossing beads and small prizes that represent the treasures found by the pirates in their annual takeover.

Taylor Swift and boyfriend Travis Kelce got cozy during a boat ride in Italy this week while enjoying an intimate getaway to Lake Como as the pop superstar resumed the international leg of her Eras Tour.

Bundled up in a beige trench coat that she paired with Versace accessories , Swift, 34, could be snuggling up to Kelce, also 34, while a crew member aboard the vessel captured a few sweet snaps of the duo.

Kelce, dressed in a checked black-and-white sweater and black slacks, could be seen holding the “Fortnight” singer’s hand as they walked along the dock.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got cozy during a boat ride in Italy this week.

Swift is coming off four Eras Tour shows in France, where she performed at París La Défense Arena from May 9-12.

The star Chiefs tight end caught the 14-time Grammy winner in action last Sunday , the final night of her Parisian shows, and danced in a suite at the venue with Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper.

“Her new rendition of the Eras Tour, I suggest everybody go see it,” Kelce said Wednesday on the “New Heights” podcast he co-hosts with older brother Jason Kelce.

Travis Kelce could be seen holding Taylor Swift's hand as they walked on the dock.

“It has her new ‘Tortured Poets Department,’ a handful of those songs in the new show, which means there’s a new segment, new lights, new dancing and everything,” he continued, referencing the set dedicated to Swift’s eleventh studio album that dropped last month.

Days after the Sunday show, the couple was photographed taking in a candlelit dinner in the gardens of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo.

Kelce also adoringly draped an arm around Swift during an evening stroll.

Taylor Swift attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023 and watched from a suite with Travis Kelce's mom, Donna.

First linked last summer, Swift’s romance with Kelce has continued to dominate headlines ever since her first appearance at a Chiefs game in September.

She attended 13 Chiefs games last season, including Kansas City’s Super Bowl 2024 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas in February.

Taylor Swift performed in Sweden on May 17, 2024, as part of the European leg of her Eras Tour.

Kelce, who won his third championship in five seasons, kissed Swift on the field at Allegiant Stadium afterward.

It’s been a busy offseason for the Pro Bowler, who signed on to host Amazon’s “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” and is currently filming the Ryan Murphy horror series “Grotesquerie.”

Swift will wrap the European leg of the Eras Tour on Aug. 20, in London.

She’s performing three shows in Stockholm, Sweden, beginning Friday.

Kygo’s Palm Tree Music Festival has bumpy takeoff in Hamptons as FAA pulls permit at airport venue

Kygo

A summer music fest at a Hamptons airport has hit some turbulence.

Page Six has learned that Kygo’s Palm Tree Music Festival, at Francis S Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach, has had its permit denied by the FAA.

But the fest is hoping the show can go on!

In its fourth year in the Hamptons, the fest is meant to take place June 22 with Swedish House Mafia headlining the lineup, with acts also including Kygo and a DJ set by Sofi Tukker.

Palm Tree Music Festival

The press office for the Suffolk County Executive confirmed to Page Six that the permit has been pulled, and that the music fest is now appealing.

A source said the issues involve some questions the FAA had about the fest.

The insider added, “Most of the questions from the FAA had to do with timelines of runway closures, because it’s an active airport.”

Swedish House Mafia

Also, “They thought it was a two-day festival and it’s only one day,” the source said.

“They’re already addressing these questions and have resubmitted… this is the permit that they’ve been approved on for the last two years,” the insider insisted.

A spokesperson for the fest said: “We’re excited to return to the Hamptons for a fourth year!”

Airport

We’ve previously reported that Hamptons fixture Jimmy Buffett made a surprise appearance at the fest in 2022.

Other attendees included Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, Sports Illustrated model Camille Kostek, “We Wore What” designer Danielle Bernstein, Melissa Wood Tepperberg and Sophia Culpo.

Calvin Harris has also played the fest, which also has installments in Hawaii and Nevada.

41m Baglietto motor yacht Perla Bianca

41m Baglietto motor yacht Perla Bianca sold

The 40.9-metre motor yacht Perla Bianca has been sold with Charles Herve at Northrop & Johnson representing the seller. Arcon Yachts ' Konstantin Kolpakov introduced the buyer.

Designed by Stefano Vafiadis and built by Italian yard Baglietto , the all-aluminium DOM 133 model was delivered in June 2023. Her angular exterior was inspired by automotive design.

The 55-square-metre master suite is positioned on the main deck and has a full-beam bathroom and queen-sized bed. Four more generously proportioned guest cabins are found on the lower deck, including a VIP queen.

A high headroom of 2.15 metres throughout and large windows make Perla Bianca' s open-plan saloon feel spacious and bright. Furnishings are supplied by Minotti and the yacht was designed as "a home away from home". Her full-beam skylounge sports a games table and seamlessly connects with the exterior deck.

The aft deck beckons guests with a freshwater pool, a large bathing platform equipped with a "transformer platform", deckchairs, and parasols. More seating plus a bar and Jacuzzi are found up on the flybridge deck.

The ABS-classed 410GT yacht has an impressive 3,000 nautical-mile range at an economical speed of 10 knots. Twin 1,622hp Caterpillar diesels give her a maximum speed of 17 knots and cruising speed of 15 knots.

Perla Bianca was last asking €22,950,000.
