Description

Behind the classic appearance of Lady Ann is modern luxury and yacht comfort combined with a design for high performance regatta racing. Despite her young age Lady Ann has already sailed many oceans, participated in various well-known regattas in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, and  crossed the Atlantic quite a few times. On board the cockpit offers a blending of comfort and spacious working area, designed with modern safety requirements in mind. The relatively slim hull is a great compromise between speed potential, centered weight distribution and agility with the modern keel adding to efficiency and maneuverability. Moreover, Lady Ann's modern underwater design and her high-performance rig contribute to her successful performance in regattas. The interior is light and cozy, with an elaborated and seaworthy design that still offers excellent comfort. Pilothouse and saloon have a stunning 360 degree view and are unusually spacious for yachts this size (LOA 20.04m/ 65ft). The Mahogany paneling, the white beamed ceilings, and the luxurious joinery and upholstery complement perfectly the flowing lines of the exterior. Lady Ann has proven to be an ideal base for a unique and unforgettable sailing vacation with close friends or family members as well as a successful yacht for competitive regatta sailing in the Caribbean and Mediterranean.

Gibraltar – Madeira Leaving the legendary ‘Rock’ we will first head for Cape St. Vincent (the southwestern tip of Portugal) where we will be able to anchor at Baleeira, a sheltered bay with an old whaling station ashore. A three day crossing to Porto Santo will follow. Here we will be able to relax at anchor and swim in crystal clear waters. Depending on the weather we will next head for the north eastern tip of Madeira, famous for rough and beautiful anchorages. From here it is only a short hop to Funchal, the capital city of flower island Madeira. Renting a car for a day to go for spectacular hikes in the rugged mountains is highly recommended. price per person 1250 Euro including food Madeira – Gran Canaria For the next leg of this delivery trip we will head out first to the Desertas islands, a nature reserve great for hiking and known for it’s colony of extremely rare Monk Seals. From there a one and a half day sail will bring us to the Selvagem islands. These islands, also nature reserves, have abundant birdlife and are great for exploring and snorkeling. Another one and a half day sail further and we will raise Gran Canaria. Truly Classic Lady Ann sold

De valk sells lady ann to repeat client.

The Hoek Truly Classic Lady Ann has been sold to a German owner after less than three months in the De Valk Hindeloopen marina. The client had already bought his previous yacht via De Valk, which has now placed that vessel up for sale again. He plans to explore the Dutch lakes and waterways onboard Lady Ann with Hindeloopen as his base.

Launched in 1998 by the New Zealand yard McMullen & Wing, the 17.50-metre Lady Ann had been maintained in a pristine condition by her owner and then in De Valk’s Hindeloopen marina. Having entrusted De Valk with the trade of his traditional flat-bottomed boat for this classically sleek sailing yacht, the new owner can look forward to many years of pleasure on a real Truly Classic from the boards of Andre Hoek.

“We sold Lady Ann in partnership with our colleague from Tavros Yachts,” says Henk Sijbranda and Johan Nooitgedacht, the brokers responsible for the sale. “This sort of cooperative agreement is a good way for these parties to increase the chance of a sale by accessing the global De Valk network.”

Lady Ann was brought to the Netherlands in 2009 for a new Awlgrip paint job on her hull, mast and boom. She is also equipped with new North 3DL sails (main, genoa and staysail) and new Raymarine electronics. Pushbutton sailing from the cockpit and a beautiful mahogany interior make her a classic in every sense of the word. “The fact that this yacht was so well maintained also ensured that Lady Ann retained value and quickly attracted a new owners,“ conclude Sijbranda and Nooitgedacht. Just notifying everyone of the name change to this yacht since her recent refit, previously known as "Lady S" and "Lady Anne".

"Lady E" is now in for another refit, Pendennis is the yard and she is out of the water already for winter works. She will re-emerge in the Spring of 2020. One thing of note and perhaps her most notable feature when completed is that she will be 6-meters longer. Right now she is around 69-meters and should increase to 75-meters to incorporate a 60 square-meter beach club. on the lower deck. Above the aft main deck will be extended too as a result.

It amazes me they can lengthen a ship by almost 10% without adversely affecting the ship's center of gravity and center of buoyancy. They must had some ballast in the bow, or something.

The 49m/160'9" motor yacht 'Lady Ann Magee' was built by Codecasa in Italy at their Viareggio shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Della Role Design and she was completed in 2001. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Codecasa and she was last refitted in 2006.

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3516) 2,199hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 15 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 17 knots with a range of up to 6,334 nautical miles from her 120,000 litre fuel tanks at 14 knots. Her water tanks store around 19,000 Litres of fresh water.
