Guide to Olbia

A colourful historic centre and gateway to the Costa Smeralda

While the dazzling resort towns of the Costa Smeralda may get more attention, there is something authentically Italian and cool about Olbia with its boutiques, wine bars and cafe-rimmed piazzas.

Most visitors to Sardinia will know Olbia as a starting off point for exploring the Costa Smeralda destinations on a Mediterranean yacht charter .

But there is also plenty to see and do in the city alone, in particular its main landmark, the archaeological museum. Set on its own little island, the museum will give you an insight into Olbia’s Greek foundations, later clashes between Carthaginians and Romans and the city’s maritime history - including remnants of a cargo ship pulled from the harbour 2000 years ago.

Once you head inland and explore the back streets of Olbia, you’ll find gems like the beautiful basilica of San Simplicio and other Pisan-style churches that sprung up during the 11th and 12th centuries. The busiest hub of the town is the colourful Corso Umberto where the streets are full of shops leading up to the beautiful waterfront. Further on, the laid-back Piazza Margherita is charming with its old stone buildings and perfect for a relaxing afternoon stroll before going back to your luxury charter yacht for sundowners on deck.

If you’re looking for sandy white beaches, the northern coast of Sardinia and the nearby Maddalena islands offer an abundance of sandy stretches so Olbia is a fantastic base to discover your favourite one. The best way to do this is by chartering a luxury yacht with an experienced Captain who can help you explore the best kept secrets of the coast.

There are a range of yachts to choose from so to get some inspiration for what is best for you and your family, see the complete selection of crewed Sardinia charter yachts available.

Olbia Yacht Charter

Olbia is an idyllic port town of Sardinia which lies in the north eastern section of the Gullura Region, directly facing the Italian mainland. Olbia is the northern yacht charter gateway to the whole Sardinian yachting region. Sardinia is very well known for luxury superyachts and also due to the good wind is known for its luxury sailing yachts and sailing regattas.

Major Attractions and Important Places in Olbia

yacht in olbia

You should also head out to the section of the town where you can find the thermal baths, which is a favourite destination of yacht charter enthusiasts, and the Roman walls, or what’s left of them. Another important attraction for those who want to have a piece of the storied past of Olbia is the Archaeological Museum, which is located in the Island of Peddone.

Olbia is definitely a shopper’s delight. There are two sections of the town of Olbia where you can go for some serious shopping. The Old Town section, which includes the waterfront, features fancy boutiques and street merchants that normally sell local crafts and other products that are indigenous to the place. The other section of Olbia comprises the modern shopping centres which are located on north end and south end of the town.

Olbia is the ideal choice for those who are not keen on going with the maddening flow of tourists going to the more popular yacht charter stop offs within the region. This is the best destination if you want something different from your yacht charter holiday yet an experience that you will cherish for a lifetime.

Yacht Charter Holiday in Olbia

Olbia belong to those attractions and yacht charter holiday destinations that are off the beaten path of Italy. There is really not that significant number of tourists that come to this idyllic port town when compared to its more popular siblings like Tuscany, Calabria and Sicily, easily considered as the proverbial magnets to yacht charter aficionados. Still, Olbia has a lot of attractions and offers diverse yacht charter opportunities, making it an ideal, albeit unique, place where one can enjoy a different kind of holiday bit is still typically Italian.

yacht in olbia

Another alternative way of going to Olbia is by taking the ferry services that connect the town with major ports within the region. The central station of the ferry services that cover Olbia is based in Genoa. From there, yacht charter enthusiasts can take the 9-hour ferry ride to Olbia. This is an ideal option for those who have ample time and want to relish the panoramic views of the Mediterranean while sailing to Olbia. Other ferry connections to this town are based in Marseilles and Livorno.

Guide To Sailing In Olbia, Sardinia

On an Olbia yacht charter with Borrow a Boat you can explore the Emerald Coast and La Maddalena Islands within an easy sail. Whatever you want from a Sardinia sailing holiday, from the impressive archaeology and beautiful beaches to the fashionable restaurants and nightlife, an Olbia sailing vacation is going to be an unforgettable experience.

Though largely ignored by most as they pass through the sea and airport to the Costa Smeralda, the Sardinian east coast town of Olbia has a lot to offer in its own right. Built by the Phoenicians (though occupied since before), Olbia has been in existence for 3,000 years in some form or another. It has had several names through history through Greek, Roman, Pisan and Sardinian home-rule, though the Italian Fascists gave it its old and current name back in 1939.

One of the important remnants of history is Sa Testa, a ceremonial Nuragic well just outside of the town. This has steps going down into the water and is believed to have religious significance for the Bronze Age peoples. Another religious relic is the Basillica of San Simplicio, the patron saint of Olbia, which lies in the Old Town of Olbia today. Built in Pisan-Romanesque style, this is well worth a visit as you wander the streets and alleys of this fascinating town.

Close to the Basillica San Simplicio is the Piazza Margherita, the main square in Olbia where you will find many bars and cafes to rest at and watch the world go by. Of the alleys and roads leading off it you should take a wander up the Corso Umberto, that is full of shops, restaurants and bars - all a lot cheaper than you will find in resort towns of the Emerald Coast to the north.

After taking over your charter yacht or motorboat you should pop by the PIazza Mercato, an old market where you can get your fresh produce for your sailing holiday. This, like the port, has traces of the Phoenician Empire - as with all of Olbia, old and new sits comfortably side by side.

Explore Olbia By Renting A Yacht

Where else can you and your fellow charter guests go on your Italy yacht charter from Olbia?

Just to the SE of Olbia is Tavolara Island. Part NATO base, part nature reserve and major tourist attraction, Tavolara Island was once the smallest kingdom in Europe. Today you will find a long sandy beach, excellent scuba diving and snorkelling, and if you can stand the heat, an opportunity to take a guided hike up the massif that dominates the view here.

On your boat rental the southern end of the Emerald Coast is Porto Rotondo. This old town is well away from the tourist crowd and one of the most authentic Sardinian villages you will likely find on your sailing holiday with the Piazzetta San Marco where locals go to socialise and relax at the centre.

The Maddalena archipelago of 60 islands and islets is one of the top reasons that people begin a boat rental in Olbia. Around 30 miles NE of the town, and a short sail from the mainland Costa Smeralda, it is renowned for its excellent beaches and secluded coves where you can find yourself completely alone with on white sandy beaches all to yourself. Though just off the Costa Smeralda coast, La Maddalena archipelago is one of those places where sailors and their guests often spend a few days to enjoy them to their full, perhaps moored in secluded bays while enjoying the peace and quiet of the archipelago. If you can, get a guide to take you to Budelli Island - one of the most beautiful and heavily protected islands in the archipelago, Budelli Island is famous for its pink beach.

To the south of the islands is Porto Cervo, the highly acclaimed capital of the Emerald Coast. A quiet and sleepy fishing village until the Aga Khan chose to develop it in the 1980s, it now has some of the best nightspots, restaurants and boutiques in the region. One of the attractions that makes it so popular with the ultra high net worth who leave their mega yachts in the marina, is that the new development sits well within the architectural vernacular of the older parts of town. As such, though much of it is so new, you could easily imagine yourself in the likes of San Tropez or the better parts of the Balearic Islands for its style and culture.

For your Olbia yacht charter, you need to know a few things about getting there and the marinas - read on to find out more.

Suggested Sailing Routes From Olbia

Whether on a sailing boat or motorboat charter on a bareboat charter or yacht charter with skipper and crew you can explore the the Maddalena archipelago and Costa Smeralda on your charter yacht. A longer trip can take you to right around Sardinia too. Let's take a look at two such itineraries.

**7 Days -** **La Maddalena** **Islands and** **Emerald Coast**: Porto Rotondo will be your first port of call after a half day's sail north. Relax on a night ashore before heading for Porto Cervo, the capital of the Costa Smeralda for your next evening. The village of La Maddalena will be your first night in the La Maddalena islands - spend a couple of nights here, exploring the beautiful beaches and secluded coves. South now to the islands off Olbia, including one on Tavolara Island before returning to the charter base.

**14 days - Round Sardinia an excursion to Corsica:** The first night will be in the quiet village of Porto Rotondo before heading to the La Maddalena islands to enjoy the white sandy beaches. Head on to the mainland town of Porto Pollo for a day of water sports. Santa Teresa will be your next port and perhaps have lunch in one of the secluded bays nearby before crossing the strait to Corsica and to the west coast port town of Propriano and then Ajaccio for another day ashore. South to the protected Sardinian island of Asinara - take a day ashore to enjoy this beautiful place. Alghero on the west coast of Sardinia will be your next evening ashore, and then take a night at anchor in the Gulf of Oristano and spend time ashore looking at the Stagno de Cabras, one of the largest saltwater lagoons in the region. Your next night will be in Carloforte, a fishing port on San Pietro Island, a then a night in Cagliari, the capital of Sardina. This is followed by a short hop east to Villasimius for a relaxing night before a long leg - 40 or so NM - to Olbia, and return your yacht to the charter base.

Best Times To Hire A Yacht In Olbia

The sailing season in Sardinia is from May to October. Outside of the high season in July/August you will find many marinas have enough room to meet demand and will often be cheaper than Greece or Croatia.

In some parts of Italy's sailing meccas the prices rocket in July/August and you may end up paying hundreds of Euros for the last available berth if you're lucky enough to get one!

As such the best times to sail in Italy are during school term in June or September when the sea is still warm but the marinas and towns relaxed and quiet. If you want Sardinia at full throttle in the maximum heat of summer the high season may well be for you!

The Climate

Sardinia is known for its excellent sailing conditions, making many locations meccas for all sorts of wind sports.

During much of the sailing season in this part of the west Mediterranean Sea you will find sea breezes that build during the day and ease off at night, making for a perfect sailing holiday.

The NE Maestrale is an important wind here. Generally blowing from October to April, and originating from the Rhone Valley, it can pipe up for a week at a time and blow at gale force for days on end even in summer.

The hot, humid southerly Scirocco can make things extremely uncomfortable at night toward the southern half of Sardinia from time to time. Expect temperatures to hardly dip at night from the high 30s in the day. Orange hued fog (coloured by Sahara Desert sand) is another issue, adding to the discomfort!

### What should I consider when hiring a Yacht or Boat?

The main points to consider are what is your budget, have you got the necessary sailing experience and qualifications to manage the boat if it's not going to have a skipper, whom you are taking sailing, where exactly you wish to go and what will the weather be like on the proposed dates of your trip.

### **What are the Marinas in Olbia?**

Marina di Olbia has 270 berths that can take luxury yachts of up to 80 metres LOA.

### When are the best times to hire a boat in Olbia?

While the sailing season runs from April to October in the region, it can get very busy and hot at the peak times of July and August with the marinas often very full and expensive. As such if you can get on a sailing vacation outside the school holidays, perhaps in June or September the sailing conditions are better and the crowds are less intense.

### Do you have to pay a deposit when hiring a Yacht in Olbia?

You will typically pay 50% up front on booking the yacht hire and the balance on arrival as part of the charter conditions. You will either pay a security deposit with your credit card on departure or can get insurance covering damage in advance. In some cases (such as the recent Covid situation) charter companies may be more flexible but this depends on the individual charter companies themselves.

### What happens if my Yacht breaks down?

If you are at sea and in danger, call MAYDAY on VHF Ch16 or ring the coast guard on your phone if you have reception. If you have a mechanical fault and can make it to or are on a mooring you will be able to phone a help line number given by the boat charter company.

### What should I think of before I hire a Yacht or Boat in Olbia?

You should consider do you have the experience to handle the yacht charter or boat hire before you book and where do you want to go along with what the weather will be like. Dress for warm weather but do have something for tropical rains - light but waterproof.

### What Qualifications Do I need to hire a boat or yacht?

If you want to sail without a skipper then you will need relevant qualifications like RYA Day Skipper/International Certificate of Competence (ICC)/ASA 104 Bareboat certificate or the US Sailing Certificate. For small 'day boats' or if you choose to have a crewed yacht charter you typically don't require licences.

olbia – Top Yacht Charter Destination

Olbia is Sardinia’s biggest town and also hosts its airport and port. While many view it as a transit town – and some are put off by the vast number of ferry boats and aircrafts arriving and leaving – it offers a number of sights worth visiting.

Olbia’s most appealing attractions include a couple of beautiful old churches and an archaeological museum. Its historic port, used since pre-Roman times, was in this area, but the main ferry port is now located on an island in the bay.

Olbia’s centre is based around the Corso Umberto, a busy shop-lined street leading uphill from the waterfront. It opens into the Piazza Margherita at the top of a small hill. Several pretty narrow lanes lined with old stone buildings fan out from here, leading to Piazza Margherita and Piazza Matteotti.

Just off Corso Umberto, you can visit the Chiesa di San Paolo, a beautiful church built on the site of an ancient temple. Olbia’s other significant church is just outside the heart of town, a short walk beyond Via Mameli. The Basilica minore di San Simplicio is a Romanesque granite church dating back to the eleventh century.

Other spots worth seeing as you stroll around Olbia are the town’s market square, Piazza Mercato, and traces of Olbia’s ancient past: a stretch of the town’s Punic walls, in a housing area between Via Aquedotto and Via Torino, and a stretch of ancient paving outside the town hall at the harbour end of Corso Umberto.

Olbia – The Gourmet Experience

Some of Sardinia’s best eateries are also found here, boasting the freshest seafood as well as meat dishes, for which Sardinia is famous.

Typical Sardinian food can include anything from procceddu, grilled pork served with myrtle leaves on a large tray, lobster Catalan style and pasta with hand-made sauces created according to ancient recipes. The local wines, such as 2007 Agricola Punica Montessu Isola dei Nuraghi IGT, are also celebrated.

Recommended eateries include the highly rated Agriturismo Agrisole (vegetarian menu is available), Il Mattacchione, Agriturismo Stazzu Li Paladini and Pizzeria Dadino. All serve fine Italian and Mediterranean cuisine.

olbia – Things to Do

And when it’s time to kick back and enjoy the peace and tranquility, some lovely beaches for idyllic beach hopping include Costa Corallina Beach, with its white sand, clear water and interesting rock formations; Isola Rossa – great for snorkeling; Spiaggia Pittulongu - La Playa, with its two restaurants conveniently close by, and Porto Istana Beach, which offers a sublime view from the beach to Isola Tavolara.

Sardinia is a strong draw card for any sailing holiday, offering natural wonders, fascinating antiquities, a vibrant nightlife, high-end shopping, and so much more.

Sardinia is a delightfully alluring island, and is a convenient stone’s throw away from Corsica. It’ll only take a couple of hours by yacht to get from Porto Cervo to Porto Vecchio, and even less time to reach Bonifacio. And these towns are worthy of a visit.

Book your Olbia yacht charter with Borrow a Boat today!

We are confident that our prices are the most competitive and transparent in the market.

We won't charge any booking fees when you make a booking with us.

We have the highest number of verified and vetted boats available on the market.

Sailing conditions in Olbia

There are three winds that dominate on the island of Sardinia, but one in particular that blows on the eastern coast of the island. The so-called ‘Scirocco’ is a warm and dry wind that you will feel in this part of Sardinia. There is also the cool and breezy west wind, which blows throughout the summer and is great if you want to explore the island on a boat with a sail. In the summer months the wind doesn’t go above 20 knots, bringing wind conditions that can also be enjoyed by novice sailors.

July and August are the hottest months of the year with lovely warm water temperatures that make for excellent swimming conditions in the sea. However, the sailing season in Sardinia generally lasts from April until October. If you want to ditch the crowds, but still want to enjoy warm temperatures, sailing in Olbia in September or October is a good choice.

How much does it cost to rent a boat in Olbia?

Sardinia is an extremely affordable sailing destination in the Mediterranean and offers many boats that can be rented even with a smaller budget. On average it costs only around 50 EUR per person per day to rent a gulet in Italy and an average price of 58 EUR per person per day to rent a sailboat in Italy . While these are some of the most affordable boats to rent in Sardinia, you should be aware that they require lots of skills and training to be able to sail on them. It costs around 40 EUR per person per day to rent a RIB in Italy. If you’re looking at renting a speedboat, you will need to keep in mind that it will cost you an average of 70 EUR per person per day in Italy. If you are looking at renting a catamaran or a motorboat in Italy, it will be more expensive, but won’t break your bank either. They come with all the amenities you chould wish for and make your sailing adventure in Olbia perfect. On average it will cost you 150 EUR to rent a motorboat in Italy per person per day and 140 EUR to rent a catamaran in Italy per person per day.

What type of boat is best for sailing in Olbia?

It all depends on the activities you have planned on your sailing adventure in Olbia . If you plan on having a rather relaxed sailing vacation in Olbia that includes eating in wonderful restaurants close to the marinas and sunbathing at the most stunning beaches in Sardinia, you should opt for a boat with a shallow draft, like a catamaran or a motorboat. If you want to feel the wind on your skin and embark on a sailing adventure that will make you practice your sailing skills at all times, you might want to choose a monohull with a sail.

Rent a catamaran in Olbia

Pros of renting a catamaran in Olbia

A catamaran charter in Olbia allows you to explore stunning beaches like Spiaggia del Principe . As catamarans come with a shallow draft, you can sail closer to the shore and access to the beaches is much easier.

If you fear getting seasick when going on board a boat, a catamaran rental in Olbia might be just the right choice for you. Standing on two hulls makes catamarans a lot more stable than other types of boats - even when the winds and waves become a little bit rougher.

A catamaran hire in Olbia is fantastic for anyone who enjoys the comfort and flexibility that come with a catamaran. Due to the architectural structure of catamarans, you can expect bigger bedrooms and generally more space on board and on deck as well as more flexibility when it comes to sailing along the Sardinian coast. You can choose between using the sail or the engine when moving forward.

Cons of renting a catamaran in Olbia

As catamarans are relatively spacious, they are also bigger than other types of boats. This might seem great at first, but can also come with plenty of challenges when it comes to finding a spot for mooring at the marinas. The summer months are very busy anyway and trying to find a bigger spot for mooring is certainly not an easy undertaking. If you are lucky enough to find a spot for mooring you will have to pay extra for that.

Catamarans are quite light, which could slow them down. So if you need to get somewhere very fast, you might opt for a different kind of boat.

Pros of renting a sailboat in Olbia

If all of the veins in your body are screaming adventure, a sailboat charter in Olbia is probably the best choice for you. As you have to put a lot of effort into sailing and know your way around a monohull with a sail, you will definitely feel like the long gone adventurers of the 16th and 17th century.

Are you conscious of the environment, but still want to experience a boat holiday in one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe? A sailboat rental in Olbia might just be what you were looking for. As sailboats are solely fueled by the wind, you won’t produce any additional CO2-emissions while on board. Just be sure to dispose of your trash responsibly as well!

As sailboats only run on the power of the wind you won’t have to worry about paying extra for fuel. This saves lots of money and makes a sailboat hire in Olbia one of the most affordable options for a boat holiday in Sardinia .

Cons of renting a sailboat in Olbia

Olbia and the surrounding areas can experience varying weather conditions, including strong winds and rough seas - especially in the winter months. This may impact your sailing plans and restrict your ability to sail to certain destinations. So this is something to keep in mind when chartering a sailboat in Olbia .

Sailboat charter in Olbia

Rent a motorboat in Olbia

Pros of renting a motorboat in Olbia

Motorboats are not dependent on wind conditions, making them a more reliable choice for getting around and reaching your desired destinations. You won't have to worry about waiting for favorable winds or being limited by their absence with a motorboat charter in Olbia .

A motorboat rental in Olbia is also the perfect choice for anyone who has a limited amount of time on their hands, but a very long to-do-list. You get to see a lot of places in a shorter amount of time as motorboats are generally known to be faster than other types of boats.

Motorboats often come with very comfortable bedrooms and have many amenities on board that will make you feel almost as comfortable as you would feel at home.

Cons of renting a motorboat in Olbia

One of the downsides of a motorboat charter in Olbia can be the fact that motorboats solely run on fuel. While it might give you more flexibility, it also comes with higher costs. Fuel is expensive, making motorboats one of the most expensive options for a boat holiday in Olbia .

Motorboat rental in Olbia

Luxury boat holidays in Olbia

Charter a private luxury yacht in Olbia to enjoy your vacation to the fullest. There are many amenities and other exclusive features that come with a luxury yacht charter in Olbia . You simply lean back and enjoy your well-deserved vacation.

What kind of boat license do you need when renting a boat in Olbia?

It is important to know that anyone who wants to charter a boat in Olbia needs to be in possession of a valid boat license. If you carry a EU-boat license, your certificate will automatically be valid in Italy. If you come from outside of the EU, it depends on whether or not your license fulfills the requirements of an Italian boat license. Sailing around Olbia: 7 days sailing itinerary

Sailing Itinerary Olbia

Day 1: Olbia – Porto San Paolo

14.94 km (9.28 mi)

First, we are sailing to Porto San Paolo, southeast of Olbia. The cosy town is famous for its welcoming guests, and it has a perfect location as well. There are beautiful islands nearby such as Isola Tavolara, Isala Molara and Isola Piana. If you are here, you can choose from great sports opportunities like horse-riding, mountain biking and golf.

Day 2: Porto San Paolo – Tavolara Island (Spalmatore di Terra)

4.63 km (2.88 mi)

After Porto Paolo, we are visiting the wonderful Tavolara Island, which is mostly famous for the fact that the world’s smallest kingdom can be found here. The highest point, Punta Cannone offers a fascinating view of the surrounding mountains as well as the Strait of Bonifacio and Corsica. The wonderful bays of the island are perfect for a nice swim. If you visit the place, you will find a bar and a restaurant here; still, nature is dominant on this breathtaking spot. There are unique bird species, mouflon and goats on the granite rocks.

Day 3: Tavolara Island (Spalmatore di Terra) – Golfo Aranci

13.33 km (8.29 mi)

Our next destination is Golfo Aranci where we must definitely visit the town centre. Thanks to its stylish shops and modern boardwalk, the town is different from other typical Sardinian towns. Once you are here, you should admire the gifts made from coral, and then choose from one of the fine restaurants that all offer delicious frutti di mare. Spend the night in the port of Golfo Aranci.

Day 4: Golfo Aranci – Porto Rotondo

17.21 km (10.69 mi)

The holiday resort is located between Cugnana Bay and Marinella Bay, 13 kilometres to the north from Olbia. There are picturesque beaches here, and the square called Piazzetta San Marco can be found in the centre. The Church of San Lorenzo is a must-see sight. If you get hungry, you can find many restaurants and cafés in Porto Rotondo, which also has a buzzing nightlife.

Day 5: Porto Rotondo – Portisco

1.84 km (1.14 mi)

Sailing around Olbia

Day 6: Portisco – Porto Cervo

16.49 km (10.24 mi)

Porto Cervo, which is the centre of Costa Smeralda, has become one of the most popular luxury resorts in Europe. The most beautiful sight in town is the Stella Maris Church. They built it in the 1960s and is characterised by a combination of Sardinian and modern architecture. One of the gems in Porto Cervo is the well-equipped port with its 500 berths. They organise an international sailing competition here every year between May and September. Are you looking for entertainment? You can find cosy places in towns such as the Sottovento Club or the English Lord Nelson Pub.

Day 7: Porto Cervo – Caprera (Pontile di Porto Palma) – Olbia

61.99 km (38.52 mi)

Caprera is located halfway between Corsica and Sardinia; it is a completely protected area. The island – covered with rocks and surrounded by pines – has many romantic, hidden bays. The most famous of them might be Cala Coticcio, also referred to as Tahiti Bay. The former house of Giuseppe Garibaldi is also a popular spot; this is where the Italian freedom fighter spent the last years of his life. The Caprera Sailing Centre – which is one of the oldest sailing centres in the country and is among the largest ones on the Adriatic Sea – can also be found on this island.

After we return our yacht, it is worth exploring Olbia if we still have some time. The town has breathtaking beaches like the Le Saline, the Dottore or the Porto Istana. Other famous sights include the National Archaeological Museum, the Basilica of San Simplicio and the Church of St. Paul the Apostle. The latter was built on ruins, and is really unique thanks to its dome – covered with colourful ceramic tiles – and its Venetian carved wooden pulpit. The cosy restaurant La Lanterna offers delicious pizzas. The place is also famous for the frutti di mare, the pecorino made from sheep’s milk and the grilled dishes. If you choose this restaurant, you can also expect a large selection of wines.

36m Mulder Shipyard award-winning motor yacht Seaflower new to market

Having just picked up a Neptune at the World Superyacht Awards , the 36-metre Mulder Shipyard motor yacht Seaflower is newly listed for sale with Jamie Small of Burgess .

Deceptively voluminous for her length, the Mulder ThirtySix model's "visionary exterior by Claydon Reeves " is an evolution of 34-metre Solis , also designed by Claydon Reeves. Seaflower 's interior is by Vickers Studio .

Seaflower was delivered by family-run Mulder Shipyard in The Netherlands in 2023 as the first ThirtySix built to IMO Tier III emission standards. Her Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) technology is by Van Oossanen Naval Architects .

With hull and superstructure crafted "with precision" in aluminium and "customised for a highly experienced multiple-yacht owner", the broker pointed out that she is an "excellent opportunity to own a newly built yacht".

Accommodation is for 10 guests, comprising an owner's cabin, two double cabins and two convertible twin cabins. The owner's cabin uses the full beam of the yacht, forward at main deck level, its large skylight above the double bed inviting star gazing by night and giving plenty of natural light by day. There are quarters for a crew of five.

The saloon, well-connected with the aft deck, has an inviting lounge area aft, leading forward to a bar amidships and a spacious dining space forward. Here, the full-height glass doors open to a fold-out balcony to starboard, perfect for stretching your legs after dinner.

Al fresco dining is possible on the aft deck and up on the sundeck, where 360-degree views are enjoyed in the open and the opening bimini top provides a secure, protected feel when needed. Drop anchor in the bay of St Tropez during Les Voiles and relax in the best spot for watching the action as the sailing yachts race past!

The 296GT, ABS-classed yacht for sale has a top speed of 18 knots, cruising speed of 15 knots and a transatlantic range of 3,400 nautical miles at her passage speed of 10 knots, under twin 1,150hp Caterpillar engines. The 6.3-metre tender fits into a transverse, side-opening garage and the transom folds out to form a substantial swim and boarding platform with space for deck chairs. She benefits from CMC zero-speed stabilisers.

Lying in Olbia, Italy, Seaflower 's asking price is €22,500,000.
