“Yacht restaurant bandra” Review of Yacht
One of the old haunts in bandra for the locals. This place has the old chai stall charm and the prices are still very economical

Yacht is one of the most unique places in Bandra where you'd mainly find college or young office goers sit over a round of drinks. It is way economical than when you'd probably sit in any restobar and the atmosphere beats most of the posh bars in the city. You'd certainly get a sniff of the Bandra lingo here and once you get used to this place you're never wanna leave.

Food and ambience, location and contact.
This is primarily a re-fuelling joint - so dont visit expecting ambiance and the works - visiting Yacht after ages, decently cold beers & booze snacks, their fried sardines was a great surprise. Great Value For Money place to hang with the boys or girls.
This place is really, really cheap to eat and drink. It is a very local bar but still fine for women to go to and even kids are allowed.
Amazing place for a drink. The ambience is not much to talk about as it is a typical Shetty bar. But one of the only few place that you will spot women entering such establishments. A must visit if you want to experince these kind... of bars. The food is good and cheap. The alcohol prices are down right close to MRP and to top that you can smoke inside(except the AC section, Yes they have an AC section with different prices might be like 20-30rs difference). You can visit it alone or with your friends it's always crowded in the evening. Food you should try is chakli schezwan or garlic channa for nibbles, chicken lollypop and paneer crispy for starters and for a meal probably the butter chicken as I haven't tried anything else but I'm pretty sure if you choose anything else it would at least be decent. No money no fear! Yacht is here:) Great place if you want to grab a few drinks but don't want to burn a hole in your pocket. I really like the Masala Papad here too!

What to do in Bandra West, Mumbai’s coolest neighbourhood
Brilliant Bandra West boasts some of the best bars, restaurants and things to do in Mumbai. Here’s our insider’s guide
What’s the deal with Bandra West?
When in Mumbai, you simply must visit Bandra. This part of town draws in visitors with its old-meets-new charm, with conserved 17th-century architecture contrasting starkly with uber-chic cafés and to-die-for upscale restaurants.
The locals may long for the good ol’ days sans busy streets, yet they still nurture a deep sense of community. If you meet any Bandra boy or girl, they’ll seem utterly convinced their area has everything you could possibly need. And once you’ve been here, you’ll most likely agree. From trendy superfood cafés to craft beer bars, streetside shopping to high-end boutiques, the chock-a-block main streets and lazy bylanes of Bandra have it all.
If you only do one thing...
Visit the Bandra Fort , built by the Portuguese in 1534, which offers breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea and the iconic Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
Get cultured
Catch an up-and-coming comic – or a veteran of the Mumbai comedy circuit – at The Cuckoo Club . A few months back, they had Aziz Ansari perform an incognito after-hours gig here three nights back to back.
Go off the beaten track
From the bylanes of Chapel Road to Chuim village, Bandra’s walls make the perfect blank canvas for local graffiti artists. Grab your camera and head out on an aimless walk around the neighbourhood – you’ll come away with some brilliant snaps.
Bandra is packed with students, so you can certainly eat on the cheap here. One place that attracts hordes of college-goers is old-school favourite Candies at Pali Hill, where a simple sandwich and drink costs less than $2. Elsewhere, from vegan shakes to skinny lattes, gluten-free cakes to dairy-free ice creams, Bandra’s food scene caters to everyone. If you’re into your healthy eating, then Farmer’s Café may be for you. Head to Koinonia Coffee Roasters in Chuim Village for the perfect cold brew, and Taj Mahal Tea House for an array of excellent teas and snacks in a humbly done-out setting. If you’re out late, all roads lead to Sigdi Restaurant and its moreish butter chicken rolls.
Whether you’re more into your dive bars or cocktail palaces, Bandra West’s got you. For an authentic Bandra experience, visit Janta Bar at Pali Hill and team fried fish with beer, or try old school tavern The Yacht for cheap-ish drinks of all kinds. Cocktail lovers should head to The Daily for all the mixology classics. The Bandra Reclamation area offers the city’s finest brews at Doolally Taproom and Brewbot , famous for its heady dark beers.
How to get to Bandra West
Jump on an inner-city train heading westwards and you’ll hit Bandra station. In good weather it can fun exploring Bandra on foot, but you can also hail a rickshaw pretty much anywhere.
What else is nearby?
The corporate district of Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) is just a short ride away and brims with some of Mumbai’s finest restaurants. We’d also recommend a wander around the ‘fisherman’s village’ of Khar Danda near Carter Road.

Those Were the Days when there were no pubs in Bandra. Today pubs have proliferated in Bandra like mushrooms do in the monsoons. Toto’s (someone’s pet dog?), Hawaiian Shack (Do they live in shacks in Hawaii?), Salt & Pepper (The Big B used to have a beard like that till all the pepper finally turned salty). Oh there were plenty of speakeasies to speak of in lieu of pubs. Waroda Road, Bazaar Road, Chimbai, Cemetery Road were tipping to the brim with tipplers.
The only joint that came close to being a pub was Yacht. What an appropriate name too, given its nautical location. No, not the snooty Yacht Club in tony Apollo Bunder, just the humble Yacht Restaurant on Hill Road. Yacht pronounced by various generations of Bandra Buggers as Yatch, Yourchit, Yoursht etc brings back myriad memories…. Yacht was where most of us downed our first beer. No other alcoholic beverages were served here, only beer. I recall one of our gang once was so full of beer, we thought we would have to carry him out on a bier! Another time another of our gang (now alas no more), took us for a birthday treat to Yacht. He ordered “Aloo Mutt-er”. When the dish was served, he screamed at the waiter saying there was “only Aloo no Mutton!” On another occasion our canny Glenn Roach, ordered some kheema pau. After a while, he requested for some pieces of nimbu. He squeezed the nimbu into the water and imperiously summoned the waiter telling the bemused chap: “Main te-ray-ko uloo banaiya. Dekh phookat mein nimbu pani mila!!!
Old timers will recall a wandering out of luck, Anglo Indian lady minstrel. She frequented the Bandra Catholic dominated housing societies like Virendra, St. Peter’s Colony, Nirmala Colony, etc She literally sang for her supper. Her theme song was “I went to see my darling last Saturday night”. On days she made surplus cash, she would troop in to Yacht for a beer. She kept the waiters entertained with peppy Hindi hits for hefty discounts or free beer.
Yacht with its vantage location was never short of customers. No idea how the authorities turned a Nelson’s eye to this beer bar located smack opposite a Church! Incidentally, those were the days when the sermon was the major component of the Sunday mass. En masse, weary men to escape the weekly assault on their eardrums, would make a beeline for Yacht for a refreshing cup of tea. You could tell which priest was spewing fire & brimstone by the length of time spent by these outstanding Catholics, in Yacht. The management of Yacht was always customer friendly. Many out of town bachelors used to stay in Ferns Mansion, which houses Yacht. Even in the pre demonetisation days, these poor bachelors were perennially facing a cash crunch. They were generously granted credit facilities by Yacht, in an age when credit cards were not quite on the cards.
There was something magnetic about Yacht which attracted customers like ducks to water. This in spite of the fact that its disadvantages far outweighed the advantages. There was no AC. The conveniences were most inconvenient. Today Bandra has a fancy Smoke House Deli. In Yacht, you were always in real danger of being smoked out. While sitting at the tables, your feet would actually crunch the chicken bones callously tossed there by previous customers! There used to be regular dry days then. Yacht circumvented this problem by serving their regulars, beer in steel glasses. What steely resolve. But then, Yacht was always a glass apart.
Did you know Yacht used to have a sugar cane (ganna) crushing machine? That’s why it was such an endearing family restaurant. Along with the hard core alcoholics, teenagers with their crushes, children & women frequented Yacht to get their respective fixes. Those suffering from jaundice, would willy nilly rush to Yacht to get their dose of ganna juice. Unfortunately the ganna machine was discontinued. Perhaps the cases of jaundice decreased so obviously the cases of beer increased!
Yacht is now going in for a makeover. One of our pals took us on a virtual tour of the revamped Yacht. It looks swanky & chic. Even the name has been changed to Yacht Restobar. Well, well our staid Yacht has certainly raised the bar…..

Mumbai Maiden - A jewel cruise in the Arabian sea on Bandra- Worli sea link
Mumbai Maiden Cruise
Mumbai is an exotic place, even more exotic than Goa I'd like to say with so many new cruise ships coming up. There is Angriya cruise which takes you from Mumbai to Goa, and Jalesh cruises is new in the coming. There are many more cruises which are docked on Bandra-Worli sea link itself and form great party spots in Mumbai. There is AB Celestial which is docked on the sea link and there is Mumbai Maiden which is in the middle of the sea.
Must Read: best cruise in India , cafes in mumbai
Mumbai Maiden is a great party spot for all the parties that you would like to throw and it is an even more amazing spot for a perfect dinner. You have to take a yacht and go to the cruise and then once you are aboard, your adventure begins.
Mumbai Maiden - A jewel in the heart of the Arabian Sea
The cruise liner at Bandra Sea Link
The food on the cruise is amazing and they have a wide variety of stuff. It takes a little time to come to your table because gas is not allowed on the cruise so they only use induction pans to cook. There are some days on which the cruise leaves the dock and it takes a round around sea link and comes back to its location. On these days, entry to the cruise is more costly than on other days.
Food and Ambience
This cruise is worth your money because the food is great and they have many options. Their Nacho Pizza is amazing. They also have cheese loaded Nachos, Risotto Balls, Risotto and Panner shashlik. I tried these options but they have other options like Sushi and non-vegetarian too. PS - This will make you groan but I am a vegetarian. The food was truly drool worthy and made my day.
Grand Pizza by the ocean
Eating that pasta with precision by the sea link
Pure yummmm food
Who will ever say "no" to a party?
The view from the cruise is fabulous and it looks over the sea link at night with all of its mighty lights. The view is just perfect and is as uber as it can get. You can also spot a lot of buildings behind which have great lighting at night. This makes it look like Mumbai never sleeps and you get those city vibes.
There are also various parties which are hosted on the cruise, you can call on their helpline number and enquire when those are. The scene is super lit at those parties too.
Again, who will ever say "no" to a party?
Great ambience and wonderful sunset views.
The music on the cruise was great. Their in-house DJ was playing some tunes. We had a great evening and went back to the yacht to reach Bandra Worli Sea link.
There is a cover charge of RS 1400 to enter. They have buffets which cost Rs 3000 on the weekend per person, and Rs 2000 per person for adults on the weekdays. They also have a kids buffet which costs INR 1000 but is only available from Monday to Thursday. Mumbai is an expensive city, but the experience is also a one time experience. Where else in India can you get such a great ambience and enjoy food on a boat?
Personal experience
When I went to Mumbai Maiden, I personally experienced one of the best evenings. The food tasted amazing when it was accompanied by the ambience. I went there with my family but I felt like the experience would be equally amazing if I had visited with my friends or a romantic partner. Tip : Do ask to get a tour of the cruise. It is pretty huge and the experience is great.

Yacht is one of the most unique places in Bandra where you'd mainly find college or young office goers sit over a round of drinks. It is way economical than when you'd probably sit in any restobar and the atmosphere beats most of the posh bars in the city.

While sitting at the tables, your feet would actually crunch the chicken bones callously tossed there by previous customers! There used to be regular dry days then.
