Cruise in Paris : The Seine is different with Paris Yacht Marina

Would you like to cruise the Seine aboard a prestigious boat? The Paris Yacht Marina offers you and your guests the chance to embark on the Clipper Paris; a yacht of 54 meters inspired by the ships of the beginning of the 20th century, the croisiere Paris offers sheer elegance. For a small group of up to 6 people, the croisiere seine offers pure comfort and relaxation.

The Clipper Paris - your cruise along the Seine aboard a prestigious yacht

The Clipper Paris is a 54-meter yacht, recently constructed at the Chantiers Naval in Saint-Nazaire. It combines the classical style of the early 20th century with the best current level of comfort. Furnished and decorated in an atypical and cozy style, it proposes a living room of 200 m2 and a superb bridge of 170 m2 in the lounge. On the deck or from the lounge, you can enjoy the most beautiful part of Paris, the Seine.

Your cruise to Paris from the port of Grenelle, or with a stopover of your choice

Moored at the Port of Grenelle, located in the 15th arrondissement, a stone 's throw from the Eiffel Tower, the Paris Yacht Marina suggests you sail the Seine River to the Louvre or the François Mitterrand Library, towards the Parc de Saint-Cloud and the Seguin Island. As an option, we can board or drop off your guests at various stopovers in Paris (Javel Bas, Gare d'Austerlitz, Debilly Trocadero, etc.).

You can have the Clipper Paris for lunch, dinner or for the whole day. The Clipper Paris is ideal for a cruise on the Seine whatever the number of your guests.

The James - your cruise on the Seine for up to 6 people

For a romantic cruise, or small group outing, discover the James.

The James is a 12 meter long offshore cruise ship, constructed by the Bénéteau shipyards. It will allow you to enjoy a comfortable cruise for up to 6 people. Your cruise may include champagne and snacks, or a delicious dinner served back on the beach. An experienced captain and a steward will watch over the smooth running of your cruise on the Seine.

Cruise as a lover or group of intimate friends with a VIP welcome. The James is the ideal boat to experience privilege under the bridges of Paris. It will allow you to appreciate the most beautiful avenue of the capital, the Seine, in the best conditions of comfort and exclusivity.

Paris Yacht Marina : A prime location in the heart of Paris

Located in the 15th arrondissement at the Port of Grenelle, The Paris Yacht Marina enjoys easy access to : - Metro line 6, station Bir Hakeim - RER C, station Javel - West periphery by the Porte de Versailles - Quick access from Montparnasse train station - Quick access from Orly airport (Paris Center ring road)

As well as the proximity of the Eiffel Tower, the Port de Grenelle enjoys a unique perspective on the island of Swans. The port and marina boast many prestige boats and sailboats that contribute to the beauty and image of the place.

The most visited city in the world , the city of lights: Paris. From its architecture, its small bistros, its noisy brasseries, the famous Eiffel tour, the French fashion, the romance, this city also has the advantage of having a river run through it: the Seine . Of course walking through the streets of Paris is already magical, but seeing it from the water will give you the luxury to see if from an entirely unique and breath-taking perspective. Chartering a yacht in Paris is a wonderful idea.

Cruising around Paris

From romantic rides to simple visits, the city from the Seine is absolutely beautiful. You will get to observe the historical docks, pass under magnificent bridges ( such as the Pont- Neuf, le Pont des Arts, or the Pont Alexandre III ). There is so much going on in this city, that being on the water will give you the opportunity to explore it in a calm and relaxed manner, no rush. At night or during the day, you will see completely different landscapes: picturesque architecture with golden statues during the day, and the city of lights at night. You may even pass by the Eiffel tour !

Cruise in the Seine.

The atmosphere was great except if you were inside trying to take picture of the Eiffel Tower the reflection of the purple lights are in all of the pictures and the indoor pictures are all purple. You can go up on the roof top but it was a very cold and rainy night. Atmosphere and food was good. Service was okay.

paris yacht

Dear Tracy N, Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback on your experience on board. We are sorry to read these little inconveniences encountered during your evening. We take your feedback into account and always do our best to improve because your satisfaction is our priority. Indeed, that day the cold was not in our favour. But the good weather is coming, it will be time to come back, the cruise takes a completely different turn on sunny days! We are delighted to know that the atmosphere was there, here is an aspect that quickly makes us forget the cold. Thank you for emphasizing the quality of our dishes, we work with a caterer who has an eye for detail! We hope to see you again soon on board the VIP Paris Yacht Hotel :)

Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. We asked a bottle of Wine, they open it but didn’t give it to taste or serve, you have to serve youself ( we‘re talking from a 99 euros bottle) .. you have to do it for your own…. The food was good but I had asked for a candle on my husband's cake and they brought it to everyone but him, I was very sad because this trip was a surprise for him. For the price the trip is too fast.. anyway, reasonable but I won't repeat it.

paris yacht

Dear Carla, We are sorry to read feedback like this. Did you specify at our reception that it was a surprise? We are not in the habit of forgetting this kind of small details, I will not fail to make a return, and to carry out an investigation with our present team so that details like these do not happen again. On board the VIP Paris we are concerned about your satisfaction, it is our priority. Therefore, we invite you to write to: [email protected] specifying your name, first name, reservation number so that we can apologize. See you soon

Food: awful, low quality, poorly prepared, and not even according to the menu. We went to a restaurant after the cruise returned. Temperature inside: heat must have been at 25C/80F. Seating: Overcrowded into a corner even though the boat was only at 10-20% capacity. Singer: If someone is going to try to sing in English, they should at least be able to pronounce English. Music was also for approx 20min of the 2.5hr cruise Service: Clearly expressed how displeased they were to have to be there. Programme: A very detailed programme/schedule/guide was provided at each table…which was then not remotely followed. So why was it there? Beverages: Overpriced was expected. But if you’re going to charge that much, you could at least serve medium quality rather than bottom of the barrel. The only 3 good things I can say are: 1. It was, in fact, a boat on the Seine 2. The Seine and the sights around it are wonderful 3. The boat returned on time without sinking

Dear Rebyitzi, we are sorry to read this virulent feedback on your experience aboard the VIP Paris Yacht Hotel. We are not used to receiving so many negative comments at once and have no interest in being rude, or providing an experience that our passengers will dislike. We are sorry to read that you did not enjoy the meal. What do you mean by not "even according to the menu". ? when we take care to send you a selection of starters, main courses and desserts according to your desires. These meals are prepared by our caterer, who takes the time to choose fresh and varied products. Each passenger is received and treated in the best possible conditions as evidenced by the various comments on the platform, Google and Tripadvisor reviews. As indicated in our concept on our website, we offer lovers a unique romantic experience with our dinner cruise and our suites with Jacuzzi and Sauna. In no case is it specified that this is a guided tour. Paris offers us these most beautiful monuments during our cruise, it is always interesting to have a landmark, a map during your visit :). Regarding drinks, their prices are perfectly aligned with those of the competition, moreover, these are prices that are displayed on our site, we do not understand your surprise effect on this point. Paris gives us the opportunity to live unforgettable experiences, we hope you will be able to find the one that suits you

Not sure it’s worth the money but a really special experience all the same. I felt like they could have added more complimentary things. Like a photo but the staff were really nice. The food was decent but not amazing or again worth the money maybe.

Dear Daniel, thank you for taking the time to write your feedback regarding your experience aboard VIP Paris. Thank you for emphasizing the quality of our service, we make every effort to receive you in the best possible conditions. Regarding the food, we usually have very good feedback, we work with a caterer who takes care to choose fresh and varied products, but as we often say, all tastes are in nature. Know that during the summer period, the cruise takes on a completely different turn and atmosphere, the beautiful days often have their effect. Come and test our experience during this period, nothing better to enjoy a huge terrace with a small cocktail in hand! See you soon aboard the VIP Paris

It was truly a VIP Experience we were running a little bit behind for our scheduled departure time but the staff was so accommodating, once we arrived on the yacht we were greeted with a warm welcome by our host and a beautiful single rose for our Pre- Valentine’s Day dinner. Once they took our coats, they brought out a nice crisp champagne to start (CHEERS!), a fun game for you and your partner to play at the table to generate a thoughtful conversation, as you play the game they bring out a delicious salmon appetizer, followed by a flavorful sea bass as our entree, and a mouth watering dessert to close out your meal. You will love the live band and DJ to dance the night away. But make sure you don't miss the breathtaking views of the effiel tower and your professional photo. We loved every minute of this adventure. We Highly Recommend the experience, worth every euro you spend.

Wow what can I say! But simply wonderful. The staff were friendly and the the food amazing and I really wasn’t expecting much, but most of all the sights are just stunning and they take the time out to get the perfect pictures of the Eiffel Tower would just suggest going in the summer months as can get quite chilly on the top deck so was only brave enough to see the sights from our window

paris yacht

But it is you who are wonderful! What a wonderful feedback from your experience aboard the VIP Paris Yacht Hotel. A huge THANK YOU for emphasizing the quality of our welcome, we always do our best to welcome you in the best conditions because your satisfaction is our priority. How the super rich party at the Monaco Grand Prix

T he Monaco Grand Prix gets underway this weekend in Monte Carlo with its heady combination of glamor and adrenaline, not only for the tens of thousands who descend on the pristine principality, but for the millions watching across the world.

Even those who are typically indifferent to motorsports can find themselves enraptured, or at least intrigued, by the sheer spectacle of Formula One cars hurtling along the country’s winding streets.

It is also where you will find celebrities happily jostling their way through the crowds and cameras. “It is unlike anything I have ever been to, it is electric,” exclaimed Spider-Man actor Tom Holland while walking last year’s grid.

And of course, there is plenty of wealth on display.

Monaco is nicknamed “the billionaires’ playground” for good reason. Here, designer stores, supercars, multi-million-dollar yachts and astronomically priced restaurants are ‘la norme’, but during the three-day Grand Prix, the eye-watering ostentation increases three-fold.

When demand is high and options are limited, it is all to play for among the world’s wealthiest who are keen to revel in the race’s iconic location and party ‘til dawn.

If they are not using their own superyacht as a base, they might book into a private villa on the Côte d’Azur or check-in to Fairmont Hotel, Hôtel Hermitage or Hôtel de Paris in Monte Carlo itself.

A pioneer of Grand Prix party culture

Of course, it is not only about finding the finest suites to rest your head, but the premium spots for dining and clubbing, whether it is the top table at Cipriani, Sass Café or Café de Paris or the best booth at exclusive night spots such as Jimmy’z or Amber Lounge.

The latter has the distinction of being the go-to destination for the F1 fraternity, including Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, while previous guests have included Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Minogue and Prince Albert of Monaco.

Established in 2003 by former racing driver Eddie Irvine’s sister Sonia as a “post-race destination” for drivers and VIP guests, Amber Lounge is regarded a pioneer of the Grand Prix party culture.

Notably, it will be marking its 20-year milestone (there was a year off during Covid) as “the most exclusive party in the world” with panache over the Monaco weekend with three nights of events costing just over €1.5m ($1.6m) to produce.

There will be after parties at an Amber Lounge beach club on the terrace of Le Meridien Beach Plaza (the only hotel in Monte Carlo with its own private beach), as well as VIP viewing of the race from aboard a 108ft superyacht moored just feet from the circuit’s famous Tabac corner.

“The size of the yacht also means we are as close to the action as you can get, unlike the larger yachts that are pulled back (from the coast). It also feels more intimate and exclusive on board. We have a lot of repeat clients (typically from the US, UK and Middle East) who want to network and build relationships,” said Lauren Green, Managing Director of Amber Lounge who oversees logistics of the three-day pop-up event in Monaco, as well as other F1 locations including Singapore, Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi.

Unsurprisingly, a ticket to one of the most coveted trackside spots does not come cheap.

A one-day VIP viewing package for the race itself on Sunday costs €3,500 ($3,800) per person — and the 65 available tickets sold out within two weeks of going on sale in May 2023.

While the dress code is ‘Riviera chic,’ shoes, however expensive, must be discarded on embarking so as not to ruin the yacht’s teak decking. Tickets include free-flowing beverages, including champagne, wine and signature cocktails, as well as food, a DJ and dancers before tenders return to shore at 6.30pm.

‘The center of the universe for a weekend’

At the club’s after parties held over the race weekend, a small army of waiting staff serve ever-flowing drinks for a 1000 strong crowd on Saturday and Sunday nights. On arrival, guests ring a bell and a gloved hand appears through a flower wall proffering a glass of champagne. Attendees have paid anything from €600 ($650) for entry to the afterparty on Saturday (the F1 qualifying day) to €800 ($870) on the Sunday (race day) in the hope they can party alongside drivers, celebrities and guests of high net worth, away from the public gaze.

For €40,000 ($43,400), partygoers can book what’s known as a “diamond table package” for 10 people — a prime table with unobstructed views of the stage and DJ booth (Fatman Scoop and Jax Jones are the acts for 2024), as well as cirqus-themed performances, and Methuselahs of champagne (6-liters) and premium vodka. Add an extra €10,000 ($10,800) on for a Salmanazar — a nine-liter bottle of champagne that requires a team of four to carry it to the table, or €20,000 ($21,600) for a 12-liter Balthazar-sized bottle.

The top-tier tables also have their own “hosts,” who act as a concierge; liaising with VIPs’ assistants or drivers to ensure guests can be greeted and escorted along the black carpet without having to queue.

Amber Lounge might be one of the most exclusive and expensive events taking place during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, but Monte Carlo itself is a veritable party hub. It’s common for champagne glasses and bottles to be cleared from the track from the previous night’s revelry ahead of that day’s qualifying or race sessions.

“The Côte d’Azur is one of the truly exceptional global destinations, and Monaco is at the heart of it. The scenery, the sophistication, and the opulence are unmatched,” said Bruce Bundrant, Senior Vice President of Business Development for rEvolution, a global sports marketing agency who lived in Monaco for three years as Commercial Director for AS Monaco FC.

“As a former resident, I can tell you there are two sides to the F1 Grand Prix arriving in Monaco. On one side, your town is now the center of the universe for a weekend where the top 1% of the 1% from all over the world arrive and engage in outrageous parties and events on yachts, at luxury hotels suites, and in hilltop mansions,” Bundrant explained.

“On the other, it’s the hybrid of the arrival of a hurricane and New Year’s Eve. A week out from the race, grocery store shelves are emptied as locals know it’s impossible to move around the principality when the F1 circus is in town. During the Grand Prix, your quiet, regular neighborhood bar has a line around the corner, charges a $100 cover charge, and a drink that typically costs $20 will be $50. But it’s a truly unforgettable weekend, with an unreplicable buzz and energy. Sure, it’s expensive, but come the Monday, things are back to normal.”

As normal as it can ever be in a place as excessive as Monaco. As the jet set move onto their next port of call, and the racetrack is dismantled, so too is the Amber Lounge club as preparations continue for their next F1 event, which will be Singapore in September.

“There is no rest at Amber Lounge,” Green quipped. “Just a lot of adrenaline. And a lot of coffee.”

A Charlotte County man is facing criminal charges for abandoning his boat in the Charlotte Harbor. Tim Torrento owned the 59-foot-yacht 'Game.'

You may have heard about the vessel before. NBC2 covered it washing up behind the Hurricane Charley's restaurant in December. It also broke loose and hit the Gilchrist Bridge in April . Now, it's beached across the street from Sunseeker Resort.

After the April incident, Torrento said he turned the vessel over to the state, utilizing the vessel turn-in program. Sea Tow moved the boat from the bridge to a city mooring post. Torrento said that's where it broke loose from this time and ended up washed ashore.

Technically it is up to Torrento to keep the boat afloat until the state physically removes the vessel from the water and destroys it. The retired teacher told NBC2 he doesn't have the tens of thousands of dollars it would cost to remove the boat.

"The city mooring line breaking, that's not my fault, like it's not my fault. There's no way I could see that. I mean, there's partly the weather, partly the city, but I couldn't do anything about that," he said.

The State Attorney's Office charged Torrento with a misdemeanor for derelict vessel. He faced a judge Wednesday, where prosecutors offered a plea deal consisting of 12 months probation plus financial costs. Torrento declined the deal. He will be back in court on June 12 to fight the case.

As far as the state of the vessel, it's a 1969 yacht with some TLC needed.

"It's salvageable, but, you know, it'd take some work. I don't recommend it to anybody who's not, has the energy and some funds and money and time," Torrento said.

Go Inside Barbie's Dramatic Exit & Breakup with Kyle: "the Biggest Disappointment of Them All"

On the Below Deck Season 11 finale, Barbie Pascual made some serious decisions about her job and love life.

paris yacht

Not all is fair in love and yachting — just ask Below Deck 's Barbara "Barbie" Pascual and Kyle Stillie .

How to Watch

Watch  Below Deck  on  Peacock  and the Bravo App .

The stew and the deckhand embarked on a star-crossed boatmance on Season 11 , and the pair exchanged "I love you's" as the charter season wound down.

Unfortunately, things changed during the finale (aka Season 11, Episode 17), when Kyle and Barbie got into a disagreement during the last crew night out.

Barbie and Kyle make plans for the post-charter season

Before things soured between them, Barbie and Kyle spoke separately about their bond.

"I have been changing for Kyle, and it feels good," Barbie said in an interview on the episode, as Kyle made plans to travel with her after the charter season .

During a Facetime call with his mom, Kyle admitted that he had fallen in love with the Argentinian.

"In all seriousness, I actually think I fell in love, it's really f-cked up," Kyle told his mom on the call. He elaborated on his feelings in his own interview, saying, "I've not brought many girls home to meet my mother. My relationships don't tend to last. I think I see a future with her. I think I am in love with Barbie."

Their bliss didn't last long, though.

During the final crew dinner out, Barbie grew frustrated with Kyle when he decided to disrobe to jump into the water. Afterwards, the pair spoke about their issues.

"I am literally falling in love with you and you are worth it to me," Barbie said.

"I am in the wrong, I am in the wrong," Kyle responded. "I'm trying my heart out here, and I'm sorry I'm being such an idiot. I am being an idiot. I've not felt like this in a long time, and you know that."

"I love you," Barbie said, and Kyle responded, "I love you too, mate."

Why did Barbie Pascual break up with Kyle Stillie?

After admitting that they were in love with one another, things quickly soured between Kyle and Barbie on the Season 11 finale.

In the van on the way back to St. David , stew Xandi Olivier told Barbie that she would have fired her had she been the chief stew.

The comment irritated Barbie, who didn't appreciate Xandi for being quite so candid. Barbie fired back at Xandi and fellow interior team members Fraser Olender and Paris Field , and she also got upset at Kyle for not defending her.

"You need to relax a little bit," Kyle said while the two sat side-by-side in the car.

Barbie Faces off With "Rude" Charter Guest Who Demands Food "That I F-cking Like"

"And if you don't start backing me..." Barbie said in response.

"I'm back in your corner, but I'm telling you, you need to shut the f-ck up," he continued. "Like, that's me back in your corner."

"You're supposed to be the person on my team," she said once the crew got back to the boat. "All you did is back other people now. Get the f-ck away from me, leave me alone. "

She referred to Kyle as "backstabbing," before she decided to leave the boat a night early.

"This is the worst thing that could have happened," Kyle admitted.

"You guys wanted to drive me batsh-t crazy?" Barbie said in her cabin as she packed her bags. "You win! Everybody wins... and I quit. I f-cking quit."

"I'm gonna go straight to a five-star resort," Barbie added, and she did leave the boat in a car for the night.

In case it wasn't already clear, her boatmance with Kyle had come to an end.

"Me and Kyle are freaking done," she said. "I'm never gonna be with somebody who doesn't have my back, and now, to have this guy I broke down every wall with, and to have this guy I went against my family with, to have this guy sit next to me and let these other people attack me is just — Kyle is the biggest disappointment of them all. I never want to see Kyle again."

Barbie Pascual Reveals the Surprising Reason She Isn't Divorced and "Legally Married" to Her Ex

Did barbie pascual quit below deck .

Barbie may have left the yacht early, but she doesn't consider it actually quitting.

"This is not me quitting, because my job's done," she clarified in an interview on the episode. "All I've done this whole season is put my ego aside and work on myself. And to have these people continuously continue to be against me just sucks. Nobody here cares about me."

Kyle Stillie and Barbie Pascual reflect on the end of their relationship

The morning after Barbie left the boat, Kyle read the text he received from Barbie out loud to Bosun Ben Willoughby.

"'Change your f-cking flight, I never want to see you again,'" Kyle read out loud. "Put my heart on the table..."

In an interview, Kyle admitted that he was "gutted" by what happened with Barbie.

Though Barbie didn't pop back up on the episode, she did tell Captain Kerry Titheradge what went down over the phone.

"You know, I'm just disappointed that this all went down like this," she said. "I'm done, you know? I don't need to be on a yacht where people are attacking me. I need to work on myself, but I also need to work on myself with people that care about me, not with people that don't."

In an interview, Kerry acknowledged that Barbie had been struggling to fit in during her time on St. David .

"I feel for her, because she tried," he added.

Are Barbie Pascual and Kyle Stillie still together today?

When Barbie appeared on the May 13 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen , she confirmed that she did not get back together with Kyle.

"No," she responded when asked if the two were still romantically involved.

She also shared that she's in a relationship with someone else.

"I have a boyfriend," she revealed. "Super in love, actually."

Carapaz urged the country's sports ministry to intervene in the decision but that hasn't happened so far.

Russian disinformation sites linked to former Florida deputy sheriff, research finds

A selfie of John Mark Dougan at the beach with the ocean in the background

More than 150 fake local news websites pushing Russian propaganda to U.S. audiences are connected to John Mark Dougan, an American former law enforcement officer living in Moscow, according to a research report published Wednesday by NewsGuard, a firm that monitors misinformation.

The websites, with names like DC Weekly, New York News Daily and Boston Times, look similar to those of legitimate local news outlets and have already succeeded in spreading a number of false stories surrounding the war in Ukraine. Experts warn they could be used to launder disinformation about the 2024 election.

In an interview over WhatsApp, Dougan denied involvement with the websites. “Never heard of them,” he said.

Dougan, a former Marine and police officer, fled his home in Florida in 2016 to evade criminal charges related to a massive doxxing campaign he was accused of launching against public officials and was given asylum by the Russian government. Most recently, Dougan has posed as a journalist in Ukraine’s Donbas region, testifying at Russian public hearings and making frequent appearances on Russian state TV .

He’s now part of a small club of Western expats who have become purveyors of English-language propaganda for Russia. Researchers and cybersecurity companies had previously linked Dougan to the sites. The NewsGuard report published Wednesday is the latest to implicate him in the fake news ring.

Academic research from Clemson University linked Dougan to the network of fake news websites last year after one of them was found to share an IP address with other sites he ran, including his personal website.

In an interview, Darren Linvill, co-director of the Watt Family Innovation Center Media Forensics Hub at Clemson, called Dougan “a tool of the broader Russian disinformation machine” whose websites “are just one of several mechanisms by which these narratives are distributed.”

Linvill noted the fake news websites had lately veered away from the narrow focus of undermining support for Ukraine. Recent fake articles include the false claims that the FBI wiretapped former President Donald Trump’s office at Mar-a-Lago, his estate in Florida, and that the CIA backed a Ukrainian plot to rig the election against Trump.

“There is no question we are beginning to see a shift in focus toward the U.S. election,” Linvill said.

Posing as local news, the sites host articles about crime, politics and sports, most of which seem to have been generated with artificial intelligence tools and are attributed to journalists who do not exist . Interspersed within the general news are articles that disparage the U.S., exalt Russia and spread disinformation about topics from the wars in Ukraine and Gaza to Covid vaccines.

Researchers say sites attributed to Dougan are marred with telltale signs of his signature, including early website registration records, IP addresses, similar image headers and layouts, being built with WordPress software, seemingly AI-generated prompts mistakenly left in copy and error messages at the ends of articles.

The reach of the campaigns varies. Some of the sites remained active for just weeks with little to no pickup in the wider media. But some fake news stories have gained traction, including several recent posts using forged documents that falsely claimed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was improperly using foreign aid to enrich himself. Last month, a story on the fake news site The London Crier said Zelenskyy had spent 20 million pounds on a mansion previously owned by King Charles III.

It followed a story posted to DC Weekly in November that falsely claimed Zelenskyy had used American aid money to buy two yachts.

Both rumors relied, as the network often does, on videos posted to YouTube by newly created accounts. A site like DC Weekly will publish fake news stories using videos of seemingly AI-generated “leaks” or examples of whistleblowing, and Russian influencers and bot networks will then spread those articles, according to the Clemson researchers. Ultimately, the fake articles are reported as fact by pro-Kremlin media outlets and, in some of the most successful cases, by Western politicos and pundits.

The rumor about Zelenskyy’s buying yachts was later promoted by Republican members of Congress , including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Sen. JD Vance of Ohio.

The author of the new report, McKenzie Sadeghi, NewsGuard’s editor, pointed to the network’s sophisticated use of AI to produce content and make narratives seem credible.

“In the wrong hands, this technology can be used to spread disinformation at scale,” Sadeghi said. “With this network, we’re seeing that play out exactly.”

What specific support Dougan receives from Russia is unclear. In May, the cybersecurity company Recorded Future reported a “realistic possibility” that the network receives strategic guidance, support or oversight from the Russian government. In March, The New York Times reported that the fake local news ring “appears to involve remnants” of the Internet Research Agency, the troll factory created by the late Putin associate Yevgeny Prigozhin to influence the 2016 presidential election. Previous reporting on Dougan and his more dubious claims — including that he was in possession of leaked documents from murdered Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich and secret tapes belonging to Jeffrey Epstein — suggests Dougan may be pursuing wealth, clout or operating from some other motive in addition to a state-sanctioned political agenda.

Dougan was an early creator of fake websites. After he resigned from his job as a sheriff’s deputy in Palm Beach County, Florida, and was fired months later from a subsequent one in Windham, Maine, over sexual harassment claims , he built a network of websites that focused on what he claimed was widespread corruption in Windham, naming local police and town officials in articles. He also reportedly launched a campaign doxxing thousands of federal agents, judges and law enforcement officers, posting their home addresses and salacious allegations online. By 2015 he was operating several websites with official-sounding names like DCWeekly.com and DCPost.org, which hosted made-up articles. In 2016, he fled to Russia following an FBI raid of his home to evade charges linked to his doxxing efforts.

YouTube banned Dougan last year. On Telegram, he attributed the ban to videos he uploaded alleging a Russian mission to destroy U.S.-run bioweapons labs in Ukraine, a false narrative that would take hold as a justification for Russia’s invasion. Dougan’s ban came on the heels of a report from NewsGuard that highlighted the pro-Russian propaganda on his channel.

According to co-CEO Steven Brill, NewsGuard’s earlier report and Dougan’s subsequent ban led to a harassment campaign against him. Brill says in a coming book that Dougan impersonated an FBI officer in phone calls to him, left threatening messages and posted YouTube videos showing aerial shots of Brill’s home.

Over WhatsApp, Dougan defended his videos about Brill, citing NewsGuard’s “partnership with the US government” to have his content removed.

There is no evidence NewsGuard acted in concert with or on behalf of the U.S. government when it investigated Dougan. Asked for proof of such a partnership, Dougan sent a link to his own video, a 31-minute monologue laden with conspiracy theories. He’d reposted it to YouTube.
