Here's What It Costs To Charter The Below Deck Season 9 Yacht

Spoiler: it's a lot.

The My Seanna Yacht on 'Below Deck' via a screenshot

The Below Deck cast is climbing back aboard the My Seanna for Season 9, and yes, it's still just as expensive to charter the ship. The luxurious vessel boasts six cabins for 12 guests as well as numerous amenities including a helipad, on-deck hot tub, movie theater, gym, and beach club, according to the yacht booking company Yacht Charter Fleet. Guests can also explore the ocean with the included wave runners, wakeboard, water trampoline, or snorkeling equipment.

All of that fun will cost you. Yacht Charter Fleet reports that during the summer, chartering My Seanna can run anywhere from $338,000 to $395,000 per week. Winter rates are a bit lower, running between $294,000 and $392,000. The ship sails the Caribbean making stops in the Bahamas in the summer as well as Saint Martin, St. Barts, Antigua, and the Virgin Islands in the winter.

The ship was originally built in 2000 but was renovated in 2014 to add 25 extra feet to the decks, per MegaYacht News. That's the version fans saw in Below Deck Seasons 6 and 8 and will see again in Season 9. It's being captained by both Lee Rosbach and Sean Meagher, who briefly took over for Lee while he was dealing with an undisclosed health issue at the beginning of the season. Meagher, an active broker for Worth Avenue Yachts , was also the listing agent for My Seanna. According to My Boat International, it sold in July 2021 and was listed at $21.9 million.

In 2019, the yacht was being chartered with a 35% discount. That rate is no longer available, but those willing to go on Below Deck may be able to spend a little less. When Below Deck: Mediterranean Season 2 was in production, a casting announcement said that the show was booking groups of guests for a significant charter discount. Instead of paying upwards of $100,000, the trip cost $55,000 for five people, working out to $11,000 each. That only included three days on the yacht, but guests also got to stay in a five-star hotel in Croatia for two days and all their airfare was covered.

So if you happen to have $50,000 lying around, keep an eye on the Bravo casting page . Otherwise, tune in to Below Deck to see all of the drama unfold from the comfort of your couch.

Below Deck superyacht My Seanna Starship

Inside My Seanna, the star superyacht of Below Deck season nine

Related articles, superyacht directory.

As season nine of Below Deck gets underway we take a closer look at the superyacht hosting all of the action with an exclusive interview from her charter broker and Captain…

The latest season of superyacht charter TV show Below Deck may be full of colourful characters but there is one star that undoubtedly takes centre stage amidst the drama; charter superyacht Starship . Known as My Seanna during the filming but now renamed Starship following her recent multi-million sale , the 56.4 metre motor yacht was first delivered in 2000 by Seattle-based shipyard Delta Marine .

The GRP and aluminium yacht was built in just two years to a design by Glade Johnson with naval architecture by Doug Sharp . She has undergone a number of refits and upgrades since but remains instantly recognisable with her sleek, silvered hull.

Stepping inside, Starship offers accommodations for 12 guests and 11 crew. Cabins and interior spaces have been finished in a classic style with touches of opulence; richly coloured, dark wood panelling, soft furnishings in cream with gilded edges, ornate chandeliers and exquisite marble and gold features in the ensuites. A piano adds the finishing piece to the lavish saloon in which entertaining takes place and meals and drinks are hosted.

"A short but extensive refit was completed since her sale, to brighten and update the interiors, without sacrificing the opulence which makes this boat who she is," says her captain, Steve Feldman, who has been with Starship since 2003.

Starship has spent much of her life chasing the warmth, cruising through the Mediterranean during the summer months and heading back west over winter for stop-offs from Florida to Puerto Rico. She is currently based in The Bahamas and this season will be taking guests on island-hopping charters between Nassau, Eleuthera the Exumas and the Abacos. To ensure guests can fully soak up the sunshine, there are a multitude of deck spaces on board from al fresco lounges and an outdoor dining table to dedicated sunbathing areas.

A highlight is the sundeck Jacuzzi, surrounded by a cocktail bar, while down below the expansive beach club offers shaded lounge space, access to a sauna and gym, a flatscreen TV and a small galley for prepping drinks and snacks. There’s even an outdoor cinema for movie nights under the stars.

"The owner specifically purchased this yacht with chartering in the Bahamas in mind," details her charter manager at Worldwide Boat, Rod Lindor. "Ample exterior deck space, plenty of storage for toys and most importantly the shallow draft of 2.4 metres are all important elements that make Starship a great charter yacht."

However, on board spaces are not the only important element of a successful charter on Starship . To ensure all guests can make the most of their time on the water, the yacht also boasts a well-stocked toybox filled with towable inflatables, kayaks, trampolines, fishing gear, a beach party set up and gear for waterskiing or wakeboarding. Since the refit, Captain Feldman adds that the yacht offers an "enhanced toy inventory," now offering "four jet skis, four sea bobs, dive gear including a dive master and a 12 metre Intrepid tender outfitted for fishing and diving." For exploring the surrounding coastline or for making a smooth entry or exit, Starship is additionally equipped with a helipad.

"The beauty of Starship is the versatility to accommodate groups of all types; from families and corporate guests to an all adults trip," explains Lindor. "With a mixologist, personal trainer, tea sommelier, and divemaster on board, there is a little something for everyone to enjoy."

With so much on offer, Starship perfectly sets the scene for the action of Below Deck to take place while still offering the ultimate luxury experience for charter guests on board. Lindor attests that her star appearances on the show have been a positive for the yacht, which was already "a bit of a celebrity in the yachting industry" even before her involvement.

" Below Deck has been great overall for the charter industry, as it has brought chartering a yacht more mainstream. Overall the publicity has been beneficial," adds Lindor.

Starship is managed for charter by Worldwide Boat with a weekly charter rate starting from $260,000. Episodes of Below Deck season nine air on Bravo every Monday at 21:00 ET, or can be streamed via Peacock TV the next day.

Cost of renting My Seanna

Although the starting price of chartering My Seanna is said to be around $260,000 per week , it's still best to check with the charter company for the most up-to-date pricing.

Budget for provisioning allowance

When you charter a yacht, you'll need to provide a provisioning allowance to cover the cost of food, drinks, and other supplies onboard. The provisioning allowance for My Seanna is typically around 30% of the charter cost. This means that if the rental cost is $300,000 per week, you'll need to provide a provisioning allowance of $90,000.

Expect to pay for docking fees and port fees

When you dock the yacht at a marina or port, you'll need to pay dockage fees and port fees. These fees can vary depending on the location and the duration of the stay. The dockage fees for My Seanna are estimated to be around $2,500 per day, while the port fees can be around $5,000 per week.

Factor in fuel costs

My Seanna is a 56-meter luxury yacht with a fuel capacity of approximately 100,000 liters, and its fuel consumption can vary depending on factors such as speed, distance traveled, weather conditions, and other operational factors. On average, its fuel consumption is around 70 GPH.

my seanna yacht rental

Consider the season before booking My Seanna

Generally, the high season for yacht charters in many parts of the world is during the summer months, typically from June to September. During this time, demand for yacht charters is high, and prices can be more expensive.

On the other hand, the low season for yacht charters is typically during the winter months, from November to March. During this time, demand for yacht charters is lower, and prices can be more affordable.

The length of the charter can also affect the costs

The longer the charter, the higher the cost will be. This is because the charterer is essentially renting the yacht for a longer period of time, which means that there will be more expenses for the crew, fuel, and maintenance.

However, some yacht charter companies offer discounts for longer charters, especially if the charter is for a week or more. This can help make the overall cost of the charter more affordable, especially if the charterer plans to spend a significant amount of time on the yacht.

Some destinations are more expensive than others

Some destinations are more popular than others, and this can impact the price. Popular destinations like the Caribbean and the Mediterranean tend to be more expensive because they tend to have higher demand, which drives up the cost of chartering a yacht.

Additionally, some destinations may require additional fees or permits for yachts to dock or anchor in their waters. For example, some Caribbean islands require a cruising permit, which can add to the cost of chartering a yacht in the region.

The number of guests can affect the overall costs

My Seanna is designed to accommodate up to 12 guests . Generally speaking, the more guests you have, the higher the cost of the charter will be.

This is because larger groups require more crew members to ensure that everyone is taken care of and that the yacht is operating smoothly. Additionally, larger groups may require more food, drinks, and other amenities, which can also increase the overall cost of the charter.

Additional services can increase the total charter expenses

Additional services, such as food, drinks, and entertainment, are not included in the base price of the charter and must be paid for separately.

The cost of food and drinks will be based on the type of cuisine and beverages you select, as well as the number of guests on board. A gourmet menu with high-end wines and spirits will be more expensive than a simple menu with basic drinks.

Entertainment options such as DJs, live bands, or water sports equipment can also increase the cost of the charter. Some yachts may offer certain entertainment options as part of the base price, while others may charge extra for these services.

Charter My Seanna Luxury Motor Yacht

My Seanna

Length: 56.40m  (185'0"ft) / Guests: 12 / Built: 2001

My Seanna Luxury Motor Yacht

MY SEANNA completed an extensive 18 month rebuild in 2014, including a 7.6m/25ft stern extension that has created vast deck spaces on three levels.

During the past year NEWVIDA has gone through continued upgrading, including zero speed stabilizers, a Jacuzzi, the most amazing Crestron Concierge Service ever introduced to yachting, with the ability to control the environment completely and order your heart's desire from the ship's inventory without ever leaving your stateroom. Further, the Crestron system has the ability to keep an accurate inventory of the ships stores and assist the crew in replenishing supplies.

A truly remarkable system, not to mention the flat screen TVs, the ATLAS shore power system and numerous upgrades throughout the yacht. If you are considering a high pedigreed well loved yacht in excellent condition, NEWVIDA should be your first choice.

NEWVIDA has been owned and loved by two experienced Yachting families. NEWVIDA received ShowBoats' Best Motor Yacht Interior Award 2001 and was voted Best of the Best Charter Yacht by Robb Report for 2007. In place of traditional raised-panel joinery, on NEWVIDA, the mahogany grain is flipped and flaunted to reveal its energy. The three-dimensional cabinet fronts actually extend beyond the door plane, bringing the beauty of inlaid, satin-finished joinery closer to the viewer's eye. NEWVIDA's columns perform their load-bearing duties unobtrusively and yet at the same time provide the definition for individual window seats.

These columns are plumed with unique bubble glass sconces that bathe rooms in a shimmering light. Everything on board NEWVIDA is custom made including the fabulous 22-bottle Wine Cellar. The "Edward Fields" wool carpet is woven to exactly fit each room without seams, and the pattern is designed for each room's furniture arrangement so that designs are not hidden. All of the stone on board was selected in Italy and shipped in blocks to Seattle where it was sliced into thin sheets and fastened to weight-saving, space-age honeycomb backing.

The Ship's Office computer controls the setting for the yacht's Light Touch system that is throughout the interior of the vessel. Due to NEWVIDA's shallow draft of 7' fully loaded and her bilge keels, she is extremely sea kindly, and allows travel anywhere in the world, including the shallow waters of the Bahamas.

My Seanna's Accommodation

MY Seanna accommodates up to 14 guests in 6 cabins and there are 12 professional crew members who look forward to welcoming you on board.
