A voyage here is not merely about lounging around on a perfect beach – of which there are many, and where your crew will undoubtedly prepare you unforgettable picnics. But this itinerary offers plentiful opportunities for activity, from hiking and scuba diving to sportfishing for marlin, wahoo, tuna and more. There’s also the chance to see some amazing wildlife, like humpback whales, if you’re lucky.

You’ll have the chance to visit fascinating landmarks on shore as well, such as a vanilla farm on Taha’a where you can handpick fresh vanilla pods to use in your chef’s wonderful cuisine back on board. Finally, you’ll arrive in the most famous of French Polynesia’s islands, Bora Bora – and you’ll see for yourself why it’s so nice they named it twice!

Fly in and join your yacht in Tahiti and then sail to the jagged volcanic landscape of Mo’orea. If you are visiting between July and November, this will be your first opportunity to spot humpback whales. Enjoy a welcome lunch on board, then grab your snorkel and feed the stingrays in Mo’orea’s aquamarine lagoon.

Wake up to views of Mo’orea’s steep peaks and start the day with an adventure – quad biking around the dormant volcanoes, which are peppered with lush vegetation and flowers and are home to pineapple plantations. In the afternoon relax onboard or try some scuba diving. The yacht will depart overnight for Huahine, so you can enjoy a scenic cruise under the stars.

Time for a day of pampering. The yacht will make the short cruise to the neighboring island of Taha’a, where a masseuse will step onboard to give treatments. Once you are feeling suitably relaxed, take an afternoon stroll to the island’s vanilla farm and collect some fresh pods for the evening’s dessert.

Early risers can go fishing at first light for the chance to catch marlin, mahi mahi, wahoo or tuna. Afterwards, have breakfast on board while approaching Huahine before a fun-filled morning of watersports.

The crew will set up a picnic lunch on a pristine beach followed by an afternoon of games. As the sun sets, it’s happy hour and dinner on board, sampling the catch of the day.

In the morning, the yacht will weigh anchor and cruise to Raiatea, which was the center of Polynesian society and from which they sailed to discover Hawaii and New Zealand. Drop anchor and admire the island’s lush 3,300 ft peak and spend the afternoon testing your surfing skills on the constant supply of waves created by the reef that surrounds the island.

The most famous of French Polynesia’s Leeward Islands, Bora Bora lives up to everyone’s expectations. Dive or snorkel to explore the reef and swim with blacktip reef and lemon sharks. During dinner, Tahitian dancers in traditional dress will come on board – the dances tell ancient stories passed down through generations.

Bora Bora to Tahiti

Wake up and head for a final dive at a manta ray cleaning station, watching the gentle giants glide gracefully overhead. Then hire jet skis to explore the lagoon before a final lunch on board.

Depart from Bora Bora airport to Tahiti for international flights or, if a week in paradise is not enough for you, extend the trip for another week in the Tuamotus Archipelago.

Yes, in Texas, anyone 17 years of age or older must possess a valid fishing license to legally fish in public waters. Various types of licenses are available depending on the target fish and fishing location. It’s crucial to know the regulations and obtain the correct license to ensure a safe and enjoyable fishing experience. Fishing licenses can be purchased at Wal-mart or Academy stores, or online at www.tpwd.texas.gov . If you’re a “Rider” on our charter and not actively fishing, this requirement doesn’t apply.

While we can’t guarantee a catch due to the unpredictable nature of fishing, rest assured that our experienced captain and crew will exert every effort to ensure a successful outing. What is a Wahoo?

The wahoo (Acanthocybium solandri) is an aerodynamic predator who is known for its sharp teeth, zebra-like pattern, and speed, and they are prized gamefish because they are great to catch and great to eat. The fish itself is very long and slender with a longish snout filled with sharp serrated teeth and a few small fins on the top and bottom of the fish. They have tiny scales similar to other members of the mackerel family. Its coloring is unique, generally showing a deep blue/purple color and silver below with vertical blue stripes running down its side that are especially prominent shortly after the wahoo is caught (be sure to snap some quick photos if you are keeping the fish, the colors fade quickly just like a mahi). 

Wahoo can be found in warm waters around the world and are beloved by anglers for their leap - it won’t happen every time, but wahoo are known to jump well out of the water (their speed helps them here). They have even been known to launch last-minute attacks at lures that are already coming out of the water at the boat. 


How big do Wahoo get?

Wahoo size usually limits out at about 5 ft and 20-50 pounds, but they can grow up to 100 inches and a bit under 200 pounds. Wahoo generally reach maturity at about 2 years of age depending on location and gender and are believed to live until about 6 years of age, making them a relatively fast-growing species. They are known to grow fairly quickly, and after reaching about 40 inches can grow an additional 1.5 inches per month. Their size is also correlated with water temperatures, and although they are a warm-water fish they are known to be bigger in cooler waters.

What's the biggest Wahoo ever caught?


The biggest on record is a massive 184 pound fish caught by Sara Hayward out of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in 2005. This is also said to be a nearly impossible record to beat by some, due to the sheer size and separation from other records. Wahoo also frequently break off, are hard to target, and are commonly taken by the tax man (shark), so this record will likely stand for some time unless someone gets lucky!


Where is the best place to catch Wahoo?


Wahoo are distributed throughout warm waters worldwide and can be found in most tropical and subtropical sportfisheries around the world. Common destinations outside the US include the Bahamas and Mexico, but this is a common “bycatch” in many regions around the world while trolling. The more temperate the waters, the more likely the wahoo is to be seasonal.

When should I catch Wahoo?

The best season for Wahoo in the Gulf of Mexico is both November to February and again in August to September, although for much of the year wahoo are an incredible bycatch if you are lucky enough. On the Atlantic side, wahoo will swim north in the warmer spring and summer months and otherwise be found closer to south Florida and the Keys. The season in the US is always open, so if you can find them you can keep them. There is no size limit and a bag limit of 2 only exists in Florida, Maryland, and the Carolinas.

How do you catch Wahoo?

Wahoo are pelagic and are generally a solitary fish, preferring to swim either alone or in fairly small groups. Because of this, they are usually caught on accident while trolling or targeting other species because they are hard to predict. If you want to target wahoo specifically, you definitely want to set up a high-speed troll with artificial lures (or a slightly slower speed for live bait) on downriggers about 20-40 feet down. You really can’t troll too fast for a wahoo, and they are also happy to munch close to the boat. You can use a standard 80 or 100 lb braid and Rapalas. They’ll make a big initial run and may give a few acrobatic jumps, so make sure you have a wire leader so make sure the wahoo doesn’t slice right through your line


Are Wahoo good to eat? What are the best Wahoo recipes?

Wahoo meat is white to grey, and delicate to dense, and is known to be delicious both raw and cooked. If they were easier to catch, the fish would almost certainly command a bigger commercial market. As it stands, if you are lucky enough to catch some, you are in for a treat. The flavor is somewhat mild and can be slightly oily (reminiscent of other mackerel). The Hawaiian word for Wahoo is “Ono” which translates to “good to eat”. We recommend eating some raw right off the boat before taking some home to grill for a firm, white, crisp grilled fish.

Our full day fishing charters will get you quickly into some great fishing spots around Phuket. The waters surrounding Phuket provide an unforgettable fishing experience for anglers of all abilities. The Andaman Sea houses a variety of Game Fish, including Sailfish, Wahoo, Dorado (Mahi Mahi) and many different varieties of Tuna as well as grouper and snapper. They also offer the great opportunity for a refreshing swim and snorkel for guests looking for a more relaxed experience.

The fishing season runs throughout the year in Phuket, however the High Season (November - April) is the best time for Sailfish, Tuna, and Mackerel, whilst the South West Monsoon Season (April - November) also sees the arrival of the Dorado and Wahoo.

Our fishing grounds are situated approximately 20km from Phuket in 60-80m water and are perfect for serious anglers as well as casual anglers and family groups looking to combine fishing with some swimming and snorkeling at a stunning location.

Luxury yacht Ferretti 530 was very keen to undertake in collaboration once again with AYT – Advanced Yacht Technology, Ferretti Group Engineering Division and Studio Zuccon International Project . The compact dimensions, 16 meters long and almost 5 meters wide, allow the 530 yacht to deliver grand Italian luxury and cruising immersed in such comfort until now unheard of in a yacht of this size.

Ferretti 530 yacht boasts three revolutionary innovations: the full beam master cabin with chaise longue and two large open view windows that make it a real suite at sea level bathed in light, tones and the natural essences of teak. Moving the galley from the center to the aft section creates a unique open space that includes the saloon, galley, cocktail bar and the dining area, the cockpit area continues thanks to the tilting window. The roll bar free sky lounge and the spoiler allow the 530 a sporty appearance combined with elegantly formal lines.
