Truly Classic 56, Hoek Design sailing yacht and built by McMullen & Wing in New Zealand. A true beauty and a joy to sail. Her owner has maintained her like new. In 2009 she was sailed to the Netherlands and since then she has received new paint (Awlgrip H8002) including hull, mast and boom, new North 3DL sails (main, genoa and staysail) and new Raymarine electronics. Dixbay's distinct looks sets her apart from other yachts in the range, with a moderate sheer, longer overhangs and a lower freeboard. This graceful profile was initially developed for an owner who wished to sail in shallow Dutch waters while also being able to cruise with just himself and his wife onboard.

The brief for this first TC 73 to have short-handed sailing capacity was facilitated by her cutter rig with hydraulic furling headsails and hydraulic in-boom furling mainsail. The winches are hydraulically powered, and bow and sternthrusters aid maneuvering in tight spots. A lift keel arrangement enables shallow water cruising.

Dating back to 1987, the Hoek range of classic yachts consists of custom-designed and custom-built projects developed in close partnership with owners. Ranging in size from 33 to 262 feet, these sloops, schooners and ketches all have their own distinctive interiors, sail plans and layouts. What all Hoek classics have in common is the way they combine a classic hull shape and above-water styling with a modern underwater configuration. The first designs with a wing keel and spade rudder were the 70-foot sloop Joss and the 70-foot ketch Kim; their unprecedented performance and manoeuvrability were seen as a true breakthrough in yachting. Hoek Design became the frontrunner in the ‘classic above/modern below’ approach to yachting.  And, as shown by designs such as the 37 feet Wallynano and Athos (203 feet), a broad range and an ongoing commitment to perfection enable us to maintain a leading position to this day.

39m SES Yachts sailing yacht Grace III joins market

The 39.3-metre SES Yachts sailing yacht Grace III is newly listed for sale with Pieter van der Weide of Hoek Brokerage.

Grace III was delivered in 2021 by SES Yachts of Turkey as a Truly Classic 128. Her aluminium hull was constructed by Bloemsma of The Netherlands and the naval architecture, exterior and interior design of this fractional, cutter-rigged sloop is by Hoek Design Naval Architects.

In addition to the yacht's Dutch hull, the broker pointed out that much international equipment was specified, from Lewmar sailing systems and hydraulics to carbon spars and rod rigging by Hall Spars. Her machinery is Scandinavian.

The yacht was designed, according to the owner's brief, with a single large main deckhouse, a spacious guest cockpit and the steering position well aft in a second cockpit. Both are protected by biminis stretched over stainless steel frames.

A fractional sail plan gives "sparkling performance" in light winds while the Park Avenue-style main boom makes for easy sail handling. Decks and cockpits are finished in teak.

Below decks, forward of the deckhouse, one enters Grace III's saloon, aft of which is the owner's stateroom. Forward of the saloon are two guest cabins to port and starboard, comprising one twin and one double. Further forward sits the galley, crew mess and a "flex" cabin that can be used by crew or extra guests. In total, there are quarters for nine guests and four crew during owner use, or seven guests with six crew during charter.

Dark mahogany bulkheads, oak soles and white, lightweight deckhead panels give a traditional feel.

Built to RINA class, the 131GT yacht for sale 's fin keel with a "torpedo-style" bulb draws 4.6 metres, while her mast towers 52.9 metres above the waterline. Her Scania engine drives a one-metre-diameter Hundested variable pitch propeller, giving her a speed of 12 knots. Under sail, she achieves 13.5 knots upwind and 15 knots reaching.
