Family-Owned From The Outset

Mangusta, a stylish Italian line of boats, originated in 1985. The sleek brand was started by members of the Balducci family, and is still family-owned. The shipyard facilities are based in Viareggio, Lucca, Italy, and operate as just one of more than 15 companies in the Overmarine Group S.p.A. family.

With several top lines, the Mangusta brand offers luxury as well as long-range travel models, and has completed more than 300 vessels delivered to-date.

Multiple Production Facilities

The Mangusta line is manufactured in three production facilities in Italy and covers a total of 190,000 square meters of covered and uncovered space.

The metal-working yard, Darsena Pisana, is the facility in Pisa where several yachts up to 70 meters can be fabricated simultaneously in the company’s 22,000 square meter facility. The property also houses a showroom and technical department.

Headquarters are located in the shipyard in Viareggio where the Mangusta Maxi Open models are built. Home to the design team, this yard includes both the creative and technical arms of the company’s yacht development and offers on-site continued care with follow-up service for after yacht sales.

Top-of-the-line composite construction, engineering, and technology are housed in the production yard in Massa.

Just Some Mangusta Awards

The Mangusta GranSport 45 has been awarded top model several times, including being named for a Boat International’s World Superyacht Award in 2020. Honored as the semi-displacement or planing motor yacht below 500 gross tons and 35m and above, the Overmarine facility enlisted Studio Plana as naval architect, Pierluigi Ausonio as engineer, and Alberto Mancini as exterior designer for the job.

The aluminum Gransport was honored above five other yachts in the diverse category and was noted for the ability to cruise at 29 knots and have long-range efficiency with a 4,200 nautical mile capability. 

Overmarine Group’s Mangusta 110 was a finalist for the 10th annual Boat International’s World Superyacht Awards in 2015 in the semi-displacement or planing motor two-deck motor yacht in the 30m to 37.99m category (the category included raised pilothouse designs). The Mangusta 165 was a finalist for the World Superyacht Awards in 2011 and the Mangusta 130 was a finalist in 2013.

The ‘Barca dell’Anno’ award was bestowed on Overmarine Group's Mangusta 165E maxi open motor yacht Moonraker in 2014 and the yacht debuted at the Monaco Yacht Show.

Always a crowd-pleaser at boat shows, the debut Mangusta Oceano 42, M/Y Namastè , was awarded best of show by NBC Sports during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2018. Described as the most innovative design on display, the three-deck long-range Overmarine was designed by Alberto Mancini.

Super Yacht Charter brief: Super yacht Mangusta 108 (33.5m / 109’) is in her range, one of the most spectacular charter boats in the world.  Built by Overmarine, Mangusta superyachts in any range are always something special.  These charter boats exude perfect elegance and harmony and most of all presence.  The clever design provides a truly amazing sporty profile while still offering good stability at sea and comfortable and luxurious accommodation for yacht charter guests.  Mangusta 108 yacht charter boats are not for everyone.  These superyachts are there to impress and to be seen with.  There are only a few other boats in this range that will turn heads when you pull into Monaco’s Port Hercules or the old port of St Tropez, and on which it is a spectacular feeling to be seen.

Tip:     Some models have powerful engines with up to 5.500hp and on top gas turbines or waterjets which push these yachts to exhilarating speeds above 40kn at full throttle !  Mangusta 108 are perfect for adventurous yacht charters, relaxation or entertaining.

About Super Yacht MANGUSTA 108: Mangusta 108 superyachts are always in pristine condition and impeccably maintained.  They have a state-of-the-art Bang&Olufsen entertainment systems and flat screen televisions in the main saloon and all cabins.  Master cabin will probably have a useful remote with which you can control both air-con, Hi-Fi and video systems, interacting directly with the main computer on board.  These yachts usually cruise at speeds close to 30kn and will have a maximum speed at well above the cruising speed, sometimes close to 40kn.  One particular model has 2 x 2750hp engines with additional Kamewa WaterJets at 2 x 20Kw Kholer’s which get the yacht to fabulous speeds.

The fuel consumption is as a result likely to be very high, usually around or even above 1000 L / H. The accommodation is usually in 1 master, 1 VIP, 1 Double and 1 twin cabin for up to 8 guests or with an additional Pullman bed, up to 9 guests. 

Accommodation: Mangusta 108 yacht charter boats can usually accommodate a maximum of 9 guests in 4 cabins. Some models may be able to accommodate only 6 guests in 3 en suite double cabins, with an option to create two additional berths thanks to a fold down double bed in a day cabin.  This cabin is well suited to accommodate someone like an au pair/nanny as there may be no facilities for separate cabin.  Such day cabin can also used as a massage room.

Luxury motor yacht charter rates: The MANGUSTA 108’s super yacht charter prices start from 35,000 EUR in low season (excl. July and August) while high season prices are as high as 45 - 65,000 Eur. Daily rates start from 6,000 Eur's in low season, all plus expenses.  In some locations VAT can be charged on top and prices can be higher up to 20% on special days such as NEW YEAR or during special events as local Yacht Show events. Special offers, negotiated deals and last minute discounts are available on request. Luxury crewed charter yacht MANGUSTA 108 is fully air conditioned throughout. This is a non-smoking vessel. MANGUSTA 108´s experienced super yacht charter crew of up to 4 including the captain, have a separate head and shower but share companionway with the guests. Guests may not be allowed to bring pets on-board.

Super Yacht TENDER: Private charter yacht IMAGINE HEAVEN has a 14’ tender on board with a 60hp turbojet engine Super Yacht itineraries: Luxury motor yacht MANGUSTA 108 is usually cruising around the Adriatic or West Mediteranean in the summer months and the East Caribbean in the winter months. Her favourite sailing grounds cover the lovely Leeward Islands although charters around the Windward or even further away are welcomed. In summer months, the yacht is mostly cruising between Split and Duborvnik with one way charters towards Venice in Italy or Sveti Stefan and Tivat or Kotor in Montenegro offered too.

Palm Beach International Boat Show returns to West Palm Beach waterfront

The Palm Beach International Boat Show returns this week with more nearly 1,000 vessels on display, including super yachts from around the world.

Tickets are on sale now for the show that runs March 21-24 along the West Palm Beach waterfront.

The show, which started in 1982, has grown to a major economic engine for the community, with last year's impact estimated at $1.05 billion statewide — nearly as much as the $1.3 billion Miami International Boat Show, said Alyssa Freeman, executive director of the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County, which owns the boat show.

"Palm Beach is really not that far behind Miami, and Miami is the biggest in the world," Freeman said. "That was really exciting."

This year's boat show features an expanded Super Yacht Show at Palm Harbor Marina, showcasing yachts that typically stretch longer than 80 feet and have a variety of luxurious amenities that include hot tubs, crew quarters, dance floors and sun decks.

"We have more super yachts there than we ever have before, and they're even bigger," Freeman said, noting that at 236 feet, the vessel Casino Royale takes the title of largest yacht at this year's show. The title of "most expensive yacht" goes to Come Together, a 196-foot vessel priced at $59.95 million.

"Everybody, when they think about super yachts, they think about Monaco and Miami, but Palm Beach is a real player in these boat shows and the yachting world," Freeman said.

Exhibitors continue to be drawn to the Palm Beach International Boat Show by the opportunity for high sales year after year when compared with other South Florida boat shows, she said.

"I've heard from several of them, this is their favorite show to attend," Freeman said, "And that's why, because their sales are higher at Palm Beach."

The show continues to make headway in improving its sustainability efforts, she said. After reducing single-use plastics, a major change this year is the addition of water bottle refilling stations throughout the show, Freeman said.

"I think that's exciting because everybody's talking about sustainability and how we can be more sustainable," she said. "Every year, we take little steps to be more sustainable."

Freeman said she is excited for this year's AquaZone presented by Nautical Ventures. The attraction showcases some of the "yacht toys" that are new or popular on the market.

"It's so cool, because there are people actually in the water demoing yacht toys, and it's usually the latest and greatest," she said. "There's always something new every year that we've never seen before."

The Palm Beach International Boat Show also features a range of seminars, demonstrations and discussions throughout the weekend, including mental health in yachting, tips to boat to the Bahamas, safe boating to protect sea turtles and how to address active threats and piracy.

Freeman, who has children, said she loves the Kids Fishing Clinics scheduled for noon and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with captain Don Dingman.

"Captain Don has been doing this for years, and he does a fantastic job," Freeman said. "The kids actually get to go home with a free rod and reel once the clinic is over."

The association produces the Palm Beach International Boat Show with Informa Markets' U.S. Boat Shows division.

"As we gear up for the 2024 Palm Beach International Boat Show, we are excited for our return to Downtown West Palm Beach to celebrate the rich history of this esteemed event," Andrew Doole, president of U.S. Boat Shows at Informa Markets, said in a news release. "Each year, we’re grateful for the warm welcome and support from the community, which truly makes this event a highlight on the calendar for both residents and visitors alike."

Informa also produces the Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary art show happening March 21-24, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. A Windward VIP ticket to the boat show includes admission to the art show as well.

In addition to serving as a cornerstone festival of spring in West Palm Beach, the boat show launched the Palm Beach International Boat Show Gives Back program to provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions to local nonprofits, Freeman said.

The grant program had a soft launch last year and formalized the boat show's four-decade practice of giving back to the community, Freeman said.

"We're really excited about it," said Freeman, who added that the boat show team is working with the Community Foundation to manage the grant program, which they hope to grow. "That's something that's a super high priority for us."

Money raised through a portion of the boat show's ticket sales, optional add-ons and some related activities goes toward the fund.

The boat show in February announced that the first round of grants totaling $500,000 would go to 25 nonprofits that have marine-related programs or projects, including Florida Fishing Academy, Loggerhead Marinelife Center, Florida Atlantic University, Inlet Grove High School, Palm Beach State College, Sea Turtle Adventures and Friends of Manatee Lagoon.

"We're hoping one day we'll be able to say that it's a million dollars," she said. "So fingers crossed. It relies on the success of the boat show and the support of the community. With that, we will continue to grow."

Cost: General admission is free for ages 6 and younger with purchase of an adult ticket, $17 for a one-day ticket for ages 6-15, $33 for a one-day ticket for ages 16 and older, and $60 for a two-day adult ticket. VIP experiences start at $390 for a Windward single-day ticket.

The 5th edition of the International exhibition of yachts and boats –  Moscow Boat Show , held from March 20 to 25, 2012 will be hosted by the first pavilion of Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre. This popular show is dedicated not only to the specialists of the market segment and professional sportsmen but also to those who consider sailing sport to be their hobby and well cherished dream.

The project is the result of joint efforts of the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre and the National Marine Industry Association. The event is supported by Aston Martin Moscow, Burevestnik Group logistics department and the Yachting specialized magazine. Moscow Boat Show is the largest project in Russia presenting all the best in the world of yachting.

The exhibition annually shows high level of attendance and has already proved as significant and noteworthy event in the world of yachts and boats. Every year new exhibitors join the list of participants, genuine “sharks” of yachting business, the quantity of visitors considerably increases and the exposition becomes more sated and diverse.

The best companies professionally involved into yachting and small navigation business – 180 exhibitors from 17 regions of the Russian Federation and 15 countries traditionally presented the best and the newest in the world of yachting at 2011 edition: from design and facilitation of vessels and up to cruising and training courses for beginning skippers. In 2011 the overall exhibit space comprised 18 000 sq m. More than 25 000 visitors came to the show.

This year the exposition space will increase up to 30 000 sq m and will be accommodated in 4 exhibition halls. The scale of the project confirms confident positions of its positive development. The organizers will try to arrange a genuine fiesta of water on land!

Quite a number of foreign exhibitors will participate in the show. Foreign companies show increasing interest to yachting business in Russia.

Moscow Boat Show provides the perfect platform from which to preview new products, evaluate market trends, and establish long-lasting and commercially profitable partnerships. 3 reasons the stock market could tumble 10%, according to an increasingly nervous analyst

• There are three reasons the stock market looks like it will tumble at least 10%, Peter Tchir from Academy Securities said.
• Rising bond yields, sticky inflation, and a weakening US consumer have made him "increasingly nervous."
• "Instead of thinking about a 5% to 10% pullback in stocks, I'm much more concerned about a 10% or higher pullback along with 10-year yields breaking through 4.5%."

One market expert is getting pretty worried about a big pullback in stocks. According to Peter Tchir, strategist at Academy Securities, US stocks are looking more and more like they could plunge by at least 10%.

"Instead of thinking about a 5% to 10% pullback in stocks, I'm much more concerned about a 10% or higher pullback along with 10-year yields breaking through 4.5%," Tchir wrote in a note on Sunday.

There are 3 reasons why he is "increasingly nervous."

First, he says, look at (1) bond yields . Yields on the 10-year Treasury have crawled up to 4.33%, and they look like they may continue to climb from here, Tchir said. In fact, the bond market could see a repeat of last fall when it suffered a  historic crash.

"I've been expecting to see another march to higher yields like we saw last fall," Tchir wrote. "The 10-year yield moved higher each and every day last week – a sign of things to come?"

The last time the 10-year yield hit this level was in February, and it was followed by a rally in bonds. But the picture is changing, with the Fed looking increasingly hawkish on rate cuts. Whispers of no rate cuts — and even rate hikes — have crept onto Wall Street after inflation has proven  stickier than expected. 

Which takes us to Tchir's second reason:  (2) inflation . To him, it's clear that inflation has remained stubbornly high. And it could remain a problem as geopolitical risks — from no end in sight to the Ukraine war, and a likely involvement of Iran in the Middle East conflict — are likely to keep energy prices high, propping up inflation.

Then there's the (3) US consumer . So far, they've been behaving like "zombies," continuously coming back to life, Tchir said. But that's about to change as they begin to buckle under the weight of rising debt and a cooling job market.

Those risks call for a "DEFCON 2 level of bearishness," he said.

"While I don't see 'stagflation as a risk,' I think we are entering a period where we could see higher yields coupled with a weakening economy and a Fed that is handcuffed by persistent inflation," he wrote. "Not a good mix."
