Olympic Yacht Show 2023: the event returns to Olympic Marine
ONDECK Events is pleased to announce the organisation of the 3rd OLYMPIC YACHT SHOW, an event dedicated to the premium yacht category. Building upon the success of last year’s event, the yachting business scene in Greece is set to reconvene for an even grander and more affluent gathering.
The event will take place between 19th and 22nd October 2023 at the modern and renovated facilities of Olympic Marine in Lavrio. Similar to last year, it is expected to garner significant interest from both Greece and abroad. The main goal of the show is to establish itself as a productive communication platform for the medium and large yacht categories.
More specifically, the OLYMPIC YACHT SHOW highlights new yachts for sale belonging to the premium yacht category. It stands as the sole yachting event in Greece with a distinct focus on medium and mega yachts, as well as the thriving industry that revolves around them.
The foremost companies in the industry will have a robust presence in both the onshore and floating areas, set within a well-organised and elegantly designed environment. Within this context, special arrangements have been made to accommodate large category yachts, including luxury ribs and luxury day cruisers.
The premium in-water show, which took place for the first time last October at Olympic Marine in Lavrio, positioned Greece at the epicentre of international interest, drawing over 15,000 visitors from Greece and around the globe. It stands as the singular yachting event in Greece that concentrates on high-calibre tourism and the thriving business associated with the yachting industry.
Drawing upon a wealth of extensive experience in the field of motor yachts and international events, ONDECK Media & Events is fully immersed in the preparations for the premier organisation of the 3rd OLYMPIC YACHT SHOW , slated to be held between 19th and 22nd October 2023 at the state-of-the-art facilities of Olympic Marine.
In strong collaboration with prominent companies in the industry, the 3rd OLYMPIC YACHT SHOW aspires to once again serve as a think tank for business professionals and owners this year, while also functioning as a bridge connecting the Greek market with the global scene. The event possesses a robust international profile, leading to considerable interest and confirmed participation from members of foreign yachting houses and boatyards.
The Olympic Yacht Show is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy, the Ministry of Tourism, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), the Region of Attica, the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and the Municipality of Lavreotiki.

Olympic Yacht Show: 15,000 visitors attended third edition
Monday, November 6th, 2023
Written by: Marine Industry News
Greece’s largest in-water show, the Olympic Yacht Show, has revealed details of attendance following the third edition of the four-day show, which ran from 19-22 October 2023.
Held at the facilities of Olympic Marine in Lavrio, the Olympic Yacht Show welcomed more than 15,000 visitors this year, who came to examine 120 new boats on display in the show’s floating section, including several national and European premiers. Managers of 100 brands and manufacturers were also in attendance.
“The upward trend in attendance and exhibitor participation at the 3rd Olympic Yacht Show is a token of the avid interest of the Greek market in high-quality sea tourism and proves that our country can boast top professionals in the yachting sector,” says Giorgos Riginos, CEO of Riginos SA, which sponsored the event.
“We believe that the Olympic Yacht Show is a pivotal organisation since it gives us the opportunity to show our boats in their natural environment, the sea.”
Kostas Koronakis, CEO of rope manufacturer D. Koronakis S.A. adds: “The direct interaction with our clients helped us get valuable feedback, and we are now ready to further improve our products for next year. The Olympic Yacht Show was even better than the first two years. I need to focus on the floating section of the exhibition, which, to our satisfaction, has grown even bigger.”
Nikos Zarifis, managing director of Thrace Labea, adds: “The Olympic Yacht Show has become an institution, a prospect we already predicted the first year it was held. This year, we brought to the show all of the new Saxdor models and visitors had the opportunity to see for the first time in Greece the new 400 that premiered in Monaco. We are very pleased with the attendance and promise to be back in 2024.”
Dimitris Deligiannis, managing partner of Atalanta Marine, also notes: “Atalanta Marine was the first company to support the Olympic Yacht Show. It is the only show able to support the boats we represent. For yet another year, we have received great feedback from the public, much to our satisfaction.”
The 2023 Olympic Yacht Show, organised by Ondeck Events , was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy, the Ministry of Tourism, the GNTO, the Prefecture of Attica, the Marine Chamber of Greece, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Greek Marinas Association, the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Municipality of Lavreotiki.

Olympic Yacht Show 2023: Greece's premium in-water show has come to an end
Held at the facilities of Olympic Marine in Lavrio, the Olympic Yacht Show illustrated its impact on the yachting sector for the third year in a row, closing its gates on Sunday, October 22.
Over four days the unique premium Greek in-water yacht show welcomed more than 15,000 visitors who had the opportunity to get the latest information about the world of yachting by the managers of 100 leading houses and manufacturers and admire 120 new boats from up close in the Show’s floating section. Visitor also enjoyed several national and European premieres that naturally were the focus of attention.
The upward trend in attendance and exhibitor participations at the 3rd Olympic Yacht Show is a token of the avid interest of the Greek market in high quality sea tourism and proves that our country can boast top professionals in the yachting sector. "We believe that the Olympic Yacht Show is a pivotal organisation since it gives us the opportunity to show our boats in their natural environment, the sea. We are gold sponsors to the Show because we believe that organising a floating Yacht Show in Greece is simply of the essence. The efforts of Gerasimos Gerolimatos and the ONDECK team are important for our country and the industry," stressed Giorgos Riginos, CEO of Riginos SA.
On that note, Kostas Koronakis, CEO of D. Koronakis S.A. also stressed that "just like the previous two years, this year’s 3rd Olympic Yacht Show has posed a challenge for our company. The direct interaction with our clients helped us get valuable feedback and we are now ready to further improve our products for next year. The Olympic Yacht Show was even better than the first two years. I need to focus on the floating section of the exhibition, which, to our satisfaction, has grown even bigger."
The event has been an international meeting point for people active in the diverse yachting industry; people who had the opportunity to exchange ideas regarding the development of premium sea tourism that promotes our country internationally. The coverage of the show by the international media and the general keen interest in it proved for one more year that the Olympic Yacht Show, which has now won the status of an institution, deserves a place among the equivalent leading European events.
"The Olympic Yacht Show has become an institution, a prospect we already predicted the 1st year it was held. This year we brought to the Show all of the new Saxdor models and visitors had the opportunity to see for the first time in Greece the new 400 that premiered in Monaco. We are very pleased with the attendance and promise to be back in 2024," stated Nikos Zarifis, Managing Director of Thrace Labea.
As for the significance of the Olympic Yacht Show, Dimitris Deligiannis, Managing Partner of Atalanta Marine , also noted: “Atalanta Marine was the first company to support the Olympic Yacht Show. It is the only Show able to support the boats we represent. For yet another year we have received great feedback from the public, much to our satisfaction."
The following day found the organizers already kitting out for the 4th Olympic Yacht Show with the managers at Olympic Marine in Lavrio stating that they are ready for an even better show in terms of the services provided. "Olympic Marine's efforts to improve our services are ongoing and unremitting. We invest in new people and we constantly try to raise the bar," emphasized Vassilis Priftis, CEO of Olympic Marine.
The curtain of the 3rd Olympic Yacht Show , organized by ONDECK EVENTS, has fallen with both organizers and exhibitors wishing that this premium in-water yacht show continues to be a fruitful platform for the promotion of yachting, a powerful tool for upgrading the tourism product, a plateau for further discussions between professionals and, therefore, a think tank that will not follow trends but create them.
The 3rd Olympic Yacht Show was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy, the Ministry of Tourism, the GNTO, the Prefecture of Attica, the Marine Chamber of Greece, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Greek Marinas Association, the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Municipality of Lavreotiki.

3rd Olympic Yacht Show attracts large crowd
By David Robinson 2023-10-30T12:45:00+00:00
Greece’s only major in-water boat show drew more than 15,000 visitors over four days
The 3rd edition of the Olympic Yacht Show, which ended on October 22, attracted more than 15,000 visitors over the four days it was held at Olympic Marine’s newly renovated marina in Lavrio, Greece.
Among the 120 boats on display were a number of national and European premieres by more than 100 leading builders and manufacturers. The upward trend in attendance and exhibitor participation at the show reflects the considerable interest of the Greek market in high-quality sea tourism, and proves that Greece can boast top professionals in the yachting sector.
“We believe that the Olympic Yacht Show is a pivotal organisation since it gives us the opportunity to show our boats in their natural environment, the sea,” says Giorgos Riginos, CEO of Greek yacht dealership Riginos SA. “We are Gold sponsors of the show because we believe that organising a floating yacht show in Greece is simply of the essence.”
Kostas Koronakis, CEO of D Koronakis SA, said this year’s Olympic show was better than the first two editions. “The direct interaction with our clients helped us get valuable feedback and we are now ready to further improve our products for next year,” he said.
The event was an international meeting point for people active in the yachting industry, enabling them to exchange ideas regarding the development of premium sea tourism. Tourism is one of Greece’s main economic drivers and the sea tourism aspect is extensive, both for recreational boating and cruise ships.
The coverage of the show by the international media and the general keen interest in it proved, for one more year, that the Olympic Yacht Show deserves a place among the equivalent leading European events.
“The Olympic Yacht Show has become an institution, a prospect we already predicted the first year it was held,” says Nikos Zarifis, managing director of Greek dealership Thrace Labea. “This year we brought to the show all of the new Saxdor models and visitors had the opportunity to see for the first time in Greece the new Saxdor 400 that premiered in Monaco.

Shanghai/Suzhou Diamond League 2024: Daryll Neita sails to women's 200m victory, Sha'Carri Richardson third
Great Britain's Daryll Neita began her season in storming style as she beat a strong field including Sha’Carri Richardson to win the women's 200m at the 2024 Shanghai/Suzhou Diamond League meet in Suzhou, People's Republic of China, on Saturday (27 April).
Running in lane seven, the Briton ran a strong start around the bend and emerged onto the straight well clear of the chasing pack.
Such was her lead over Anavia Battle that Neita was able to let up in the final five metres, crossing the line in 22.62 seconds.
Battle, who briefly led last week's race in Xiamen, held on for second place, while Richardson , the world 100m champion, finished a disappointing third.
Richardson only just held off her charging World Championship sprint relay team-mate Tamara Clark at the line, and did not look particularly competitive after losing in a photo-finish last week.
"It was such a strong field and to run that time at this stage of the season is amazing," Neita said. "To hear the crowd, who were so loud and receive so much support from the Chinese people was something else. My main focus for the rest of the season is to stay healthy and in one piece. I hope to really win a medal at the Olympics."
The Diamond League circuit next heads to Doha, Qatar, in two weeks on 10 May, where the women's 200m will be replaced with the 100m.
