6 Of The Best Dive Spots To Visit On A Thailand Yacht Charter

A Thailand yacht charter vacation offers a mesmerizing selection of things to see and do. Here is our small selection of some of the most outstanding:

  • Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple) : located north of Krabi. This Buddhist temple is a sacred site, accessed by a steep flight of stairs to reach its summit where the views alone are worth it.
  • Maya Bay, Phi Phi Le : made famous by the Leonardo di Caprio movie The Beach, where powdered sugar-white sands fringe a utopian turquoise lagoon.
  • The Big Buddha, Phuke t: located on the west coast, this vast white-marbled statue is perched upon the hills looking out over Ao Chalong Bay, and can also be viewed from the water.
  • Ko Poda : a tiny Andaman island encircled by coral white sand and emerald green waters, great for anchoring in its shallow waters and swimming or snorkeling straight off the yacht.
  • Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, Pattaya : head inland to experience the 500-acre botanical garden, which is also a major scientific center dedicated to cycads, tropical palm-like native plants.
  • Tarutao National Marine Park : consisting of a group of Arcadian-esque islands in the Straits of Malacca, to the south of Thailand’s Andaman Sea, which also hosted the American reality TV series, Survivor.

Thailand’s vast scattering of islands means that there is something to suit everyone; from modern bustling cities to deserted paradise retreats. The region is also ideal for diving enthusiasts, notably the islands of Koh Samui, Surin and Similan, which are widely considered to yield some of the best dive sites in the world.

Phuket on the Andaman Sea is a major superyacht hub, drawing visitors to its golden shores, and is also ideally situated close to Myanmar, Malaysia and the Indonesian archipelago which opens up another world of charter itinerary options.

Thailand has a rich past with evidence of rice cultivation and bronze casting dating back over 5,000 years. Modern Thai’s have their ancestral roots in Southern China, whose people mitigated over between the 10th and 13th centuries.

A succession of tribal groups, notably the Khmers, established powerful kingdoms, with the kingdom of Ayutthaya becoming the dominant tribe from the 14th century. After a series of conflicts over the centuries with the Burmese and their subsequent expulsion by national heroes Taksin and Chakri in the 18th century, the Chakri Dynasty was established, with Bangkok as the main capital. Chakri became Rama I, the first king of the Chakri Dynasty, which has held power to this day.

As well as its beautiful islands and swathes of beaches, Thailand is widely known for its exquisite silk products and popular dishes such as Pad Thai and Tom Yum Goong, with seafood, tofu, lemongrass and coconut milk being the main ingredients.

Thailand’s religious, political and cultural ideas have also been influenced through its proximity with South Asia which have been instrumental in the development of Thailand’s culture and national identity we see today, with Buddhism as the major religion.

With its ever-increasing popularity as a yacht charter destination, Thailand has plenty of yachts available for charter that should more than suit your needs. If you’re unsure about whether you want to book a motor yacht or a sailing yacht charter for your Thailand getaway, there are a few things you should consider first.

The northwest monsoon during the months of November through to March offer light to moderate north-easterly winds, fantastic for sailing around your chosen destinations. You should note though there may be greater wind inconsistencies either side of these months.

Catamarans are also a very popular choice in Thailand, offering greater stability, ample space and larger cabins, as well as being perfect for navigating the shallow waters and picturesque lagoons.

With a good array of options available, there’s something to suit every type of budget. For convenience we have listed the average prices for motor yacht and sailing yacht charters in Thailand below;

Thailand is a year-round cruising destination with temperatures ranging between 25-35 degrees. There are two distinct seasons in Thailand which run concurrent with its northeast and southwest monsoons.

The northeast monsoon is the most favourable for yacht charters as it is generally drier and the winds tend to be more predictable. This season runs from November through March, which coincides with the northern hemisphere winter.

The best conditions for sailing can be found in the Andaman Sea region, which experiences light to moderate winds, with drier conditions and cooler temperatures.

With thousands of miles of coastline and countless islands there are plenty of lovely yacht anchorage spots to be discovered in Thailand. Some of the best can be found around the myriad lush islands in the Andaman Sea.

For yacht charters commencing in Phuket, there are some gorgeous anchorages to be found, especially along the west coast, including Patong Beach , Karon and Kata . The busiest anchorage is at  Ao Chalong , which incidentally is the only place you can register to cruise outside the borders of Thailand. Located on the south-west peninsula of Phuket you’ll find Nai Harn , one of the most beautiful havens on the island.

Other recommended anchorages in the Andaman Sea;

  • Phi Phi Don, Ton Sai Ba y: located on the south side of the two islands. If you prefer to avoid the crowds, the north side is quieter. You can anchor at Phi Phi Le however the water is deep, and the bays are usually quite busy with tour boats.
  • Phang Nga National Park:  some easy anchoring can be found in between the sheer rocks. Another splendid anchorage can be found off the east side of Koh Hong.
  • Koh Planak:  a popular anchorage spot for exploring the spectacular caves.
  • Krabi : there are two good anchorages on the north and south sides of Koh Hong Krabi, plus a pretty anchorage at nearby Koh Pak Bia, off the west coast.
  • Koh Lanta:  the best anchorages can be found in the bay at Klong Dao Beach in the north and Kantiang Bay in the south.
  • Koh Rok National Park:  you can find good anchorages between the islands, equipped with mooring buoys, but take care as the waters are quite shallow.

Further afield, you will find some of the most sublime anchorages can be found in the Surin and Similan Islands  to the north and Tarutao National Park, near the Malaysian border, to the south.

With more than 80 islands to explore in this region, there are plenty of magnificent anchorages to be found in the Gulf of Thailand:

  • Koh Chang Archipelago:  National Park with over 50 tranquil islands and plenty of spectacular anchorage spots.
  • Ko Mak:  an island located to the south of Koh Chang, where there are some lovely anchorages to be found, especially in the northwest.
  • Ko Kut:  Further south lies the breathtaking island of Ko Kut, where you can jump off and hike or kayak to the stunning Klong Yai Ki waterfall.
  • Ko Samui:  for an energetic buzz, head to this beautiful island and drop anchor in some of the lovely bays around here, although it does tend to get busy, especially around Christmas and New Year. The southern end of the island is quieter. Head across to Koh Pah Nyang and tie up to a mooring buoy right on the beach.
  • Ang Thong National Marine Park: an absolute must for those cruising the Gulf of Thailand, with the most sheltered anchorages found off the bay at Koh Ang Thong.

  • Credit cards are only accepted in the large resorts. The Thai Baht is the local tender used throughout the kingdom.
  • Both the Surin and Similan Islands in the northern Andaman region are closed to visitors from May to October during the southwest monsoon season.
  • Thailand experiences two high tides per day ranging from half a meter to just over three meters which you should be mindful of, especially in some of the marinas.
  • Avoid daytrippers around popular hotspots by arriving either first thing in the morning or late afternoon when they all head back to their resorts.
  • For sail yacht charters, you'll find optimum sailing conditions tend to be during the evening and in the morning, with winds dying off in the afternoons, especially during the northwest monsoon season.

Andaman Sea

Lying just 8 degrees north of the equator, with clear emerald waters, deserted beaches and world-class diving, the Andaman Sea is a popular year-round destination for yacht charters.

Most yacht charters begin on this vibrant island, which boasts four marinas, a plethora of luxury resorts and spectacular night-life with live music and international DJs, along with an array of beautiful secluded beaches and lagoons. It is no wonder this island has become the superyachting hub of the Andaman Sea.

Anchor off the exquisite Nai Harn Bay, located on the southwest peninsula , and watch the sun set into deep verdigris waters. The next day, head north to Karon beach , where you can grab a bite at Mom Tri's Boathouse , with its extensive wine list and delicious Thai and western dishes.

Asia's biggest and most popular one-week sailing event, the King's Cup Regatta,  is also held annually here in Phuket, attracting the world's glitterati and yachting elites – definitely not an event to be missed!

Phang Nga Bay and Phi Phi Islands

a towering rock sits in emerald waters in thailand

You can't deny the unbelievable beauty of these islands, clustered around the Ao Phang Nga National Park . Their majestic elegance is unrivaled anywhere else in the world, where limestone cliffs climb vertically out of tranquil cerulean waters.

The National Marine Park boasts unspoiled powder-fine beaches, hidden lagoons and mangroves, perfect to explore by kayak. Take the long tail boat over to Gypsy Island , a floating village built on wooden stilts.

Head south towards Koh Hong , where you can discover secluded beaches only accessible by tender, before moving on to the Phi Phi Islands : one of the most famous locations in Thailand.

About a 20 minutes cruise from Phuket, you will find the islands of Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Le, characterized by sheer cliffs, stunning beaches and sultry jungles. Phi Phi Le is also home to Maya Bay , the ravishing white-sand beach lagoon made famous by the homonymous Hollywood film. Both islands are interconnected by a sandy isthmus where you will find Ton Sai Bay , a lively hub for restaurants, shops and bars and the beating heart of this small archipelago. For something a bit quieter check out Monkey Bay , a beautiful sandy promontory, abundant with wildlife and tropical birds.

If you're looking for a little extra luxury on your travels, then pay a visit to the islands of Koh Yao Noi where you can treat yourself to a heavenly massage in one of the luxury resorts. Don't miss a trip to Koh Yao Yai , a tiny island, otherwise known as James Bond Island, where they shot scenes from Man with the Golden Gun.

Head to Krabi for amazing snorkeling and diving around beautiful coral reefs where you can discover over 200 species of fish, as well as a host of resorts and good rock climbing areas around the headland.

If it's more serious diving you are after, then cruise south to the remote tiny islands of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang , respectively known as Red Rock and Purple Rock, so-called because of the vivid soft corals that cling to each vertical underwater outcrop. Here you will find shimmering shoals of trevally, redtooth triggers, reef sharks and big morays, as well as the majestic whale shark. Purple Rock is Thailand's highest underwater vertical wall, representing a slightly more challenging dive, especially for novices.

a tiny boat sits in aquamarine waters with the bough of a tree leaning over the water in the foreground

Another must-see destination are the Surin and Similan islands to the north, a beautiful group of islands that offer some of the most superlative diving in the world, thanks to their series of underwater volcanic seascapes, including  Richelieu Rock . This coral-covered pinnacle, located 10km east of the S urin National Park , is undoubtedly one of the most incredible dive sites in Asia, where you will find an abundance of fascinating marine life, such as barracuda, frogfish, manta rays, octopus and whale sharks.

Gulf of Thailand

Bordered by Cambodia , Thailand and Vietnam , the Gulf of Thailand on the kingdom's east flank has always been a popular destination for backpackers.  However, with its surfeit of paradise islands, resplendant national parks and exquisite powder-fine beaches, not to mention fantastic diving, excellent cruising areas and international transport links, this region is fast becoming a popular region for yacht charters too.

Ang Thong Archipelago

Koh Samui is the largest and most popular island in this beautiful archipelago, characterized by dense mountainous jungle, coral reefs, coconut groves and picturesque white-sand beaches. It is also a great base from which to explore the Gulf and boasts a range of luxury five-star resorts and entertainment.

Head north to the beautiful palm-fringed Koh Phangan , Koh Samui's sister island famous for its full moon parties which attract thousands of tourists every month.

Explore the jaw-dropping  Ang Thong National Marine Park , a group of 40 heavenly islands, offering fantastic sailing, exotic beaches and tucked away turquoise-blue lagoons.

Koh Chang Archipelago

Located on the east of the gulf, the Mu Joh Chang National Park is a breathtaking archipelago where you will find everything from hiking trails and waterfalls, to sandy beaches and exquisite aquamarine waters hosting an abundance of tropical marine life. Visit the largest island Koh Chang , also known as Elephant Island, which is covered in steep lush jungle rainforests, unearthly waterfalls and a host of native wildlife, especially monkeys! There are also some fantastic diving opportunities around WWII wrecks nearby.

To the north, you'll find Pattaya , a popular mainland destination and home to the Ocean Marina Pattaya , Thailand's largest marina. Here you can enjoy everything from boutique shopping, deluxe spa treatments, vibrant bars and clubs, along with plenty of tranquil sheltered bays perfect for anchoring.

an aerial shot of a bright turquoise lagoon on a rocky island in myanmar

To the far north in neighboring Myanmar you will find the breathtaking Mergui Archipelago , an untouched paradise characterized by pristine white beaches and dense jungle rainforests. There are 800 or so islands to explore, however the destination is so exclusive visitors will need to arrange a permit before they arrive.

This location is completely off the grid, with no WiFi reception to be found anywhere – your cue to switch off, lie back and soak up the tranquility and primitive beauty of this stunning region.

Also in the Andaman sea, you will find the lovely island of  Langkawi, located in northwestern  Malaysia, bordering Thailand in the south. This island is a popular destination for yacht charters and boasts several marinas, including Royal Langkawi Yacht Club . There are also a number of exclusive resorts on the island, as well as a raft of watersports, entertainment and excellent dining options.

Thailand is a popular yacht charter destination, especially during the winter season, therefore we recommend that you book your yacht charter well in advance of your trip to secure your perfect yacht. It is also useful to book early in order to secure a date when everyone in your charter party is available as the longer you leave it, the more challenging this will be.

Your yacht charter broker will also need plenty of time to tailor an itinerary to suit you, including securing any nights that you wish to spend in marinas. Advance booking will allow your broker the optimum time to organize everything down to the last detail to ensure your yacht charter goes smoothly.

Thailand Yacht Charter Q&A

Thailand is a year-round cruising destination which enjoys average temperatures of around 25-30 degrees. However, the best time to visit is during the northeast monsoon season which occurs between November and March.

The Andaman Sea region on the west coast also tends to experience more drier and cooler conditions, with light to moderate winds making for optimum cruising.

There should be plenty of yachts to choose from that suit both you and your budget when booking your Thailand yacht charter.

Before you book, be mindful of the additional charter costs, such as berthing, fuel, VAT, food and drink and crew tips, which are not included in the base rate.

Some of the popular hotspots can get very crowded with day trippers, so arrange to visit these areas either first thing in the morning or late afternoon when they return to their hotels.

The Surin and Similan Islands are closed May to October during the southwest monsoon season.

Winds tend to slack off in the afternoons, especially during the northeast monsoon season, something to consider if you are booking a sailing yacht for your charter.

Most yacht charters tend to begin in Phuket, located on the west coast in the Andaman Sea. The island is a renowned superyacht hub which boasts several marinas and reliable international transport links, making it the perfect place to kick start your yacht charter. Explore the breathtaking Phang Nga Bay, the exquisite Phi Phi Islands and the sublime Surin and Similan Islands in the north.

For yacht charters on the east coast in the Gulf of Thailand, you can fly into Bangkok or to the smaller islands such as Koh Samui where you can meet your yacht before heading off to explore the regions plethora of paradise islands, white sand beaches and incredible national parks.

Thailand has a wide array of yachts to choose from, whether you are looking for a motor yacht, sailing yacht or catamaran. Thailand has become one of the most popular winter destinations to charter, so we do recommend booking well in advance in order to secure your perfect yacht.

Alternatively, please speak with your yacht charter broker , so that they may help you book your ideal yacht and preferred dates for you and your charter party.

After you have decided on your perfect yacht, your yacht broker will then prepare a legally binding contract for you to sign, which is a standard agreement with conditions set by the terms applicable to the destination.

MYBA (Worldwide Yachting Association, formerly known as Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association) is the most widely used for yacht charters.

This "plus all expenses'' contract means you will be required to pay for additional items such as fuel, food and drink, taxes and dockage fees on top of the base charter fee. Typically, guests will incur around 25-30% additional expenses, which are paid upfront, along with 50% of the base rate at least one month prior to your yacht charter.

Thailand yacht charter

Thailand is the bustling sailing hub of Southeast Asia. Offering the most stunning, vast stretches of coastline and unparalleled tropical beauty, Thailand has become a sailing playground for superyachts from around the world. With year-round perfect sailing conditions, hundreds of smaller islands nearby to each other, the possibilities for yacht charters in Thailand are endless. There are two famous regions for yacht charters in Thailand: the southern Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Both offer spectacular natural scenery, peaceful sailing grounds, sheltered bays, and the most ideal weather perfect for cruising.

How much to charter a yacht in Thailand?

There is every imaginable type of yacht in Thailand for a yacht charter. Whether you are a couple in search for a romantic tropical getaway, or a group of friends wanting to enjoy endless parties on deck, or a family looking for the most memorable holiday in Thailand, there's a yacht perfect for your needs. A 40-foot, 3-cabin catamaran for two people on board can coast around $4,200 for seven nights, while a 47-foot sailing catamaran with four cabins can cost about $5,000 for a week's rent. Additionally, a 134-foot, 5-cabin motor yacht can cost around $120,000 for seven nights for ten people on board.

What are the most popular yacht holidays in Thailand?

Two regions in Thailand offer the most popular and most visited by yacht enthusiasts: the islands and coast of the Andaman and the Gulf of Thailand. Let's start with the more popular sailing ground, which is the Andaman Sea. Phuket is the jewel of the Andaman, and it's the most famous island in Thailand. Millions of tourists worldwide visit the island each year for its rich culture and history, and the breathtaking natural beauty surrounding the islands on the Andaman. Yacht charters in Phuket have plenty of options for itineraries, which include Phang Nga Bay, a World Heritage Site, and teeming with smaller islets made of limestone that seem to rise from the sea and into the sky.

With emerald green waters, pristine white beaches, and a plethora of secluded coves, bays, secret beaches, and caves, Phuket and its seas are genuinely a playground for water worshippers. Yacht charters can hop from one island to another in the archipelago of Ao Phang Nga National Park, with lush mangrove forests, limestone pinnacles, and hidden coves on the coast. Or they could head to the beautiful and famous Phi Phi Islands, with breathtaking views, powder white sand beaches, and all the shades of blue in its crystal clear waters. Other popular cruising spots include Krabi's islands, with over a hundred to explore, and the world-class dive spots of Similan and Surin Islands.

On the other side of Thailand, the Gulf of Thailand's coastal towns and islands offer a different atmosphere. More laid-back, rustic, and charming, the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Chang, and the Ang Thong National Park are the most famous cruising spots for yacht charters. Koh Samui is world-famous for its laid back atmosphere but also home to million-dollar villas and 5-start mega-resorts. It's the second most visited island in Thailand but offers a more family-friendly and romantic appeal than Phuket's crowded and tourist spots. Ang Thong National Park, a protected nature reserve, features 40 islands to explore, with each one being close to one another. Other notable cursing destinations in the Gulf of Thailand include Koh Tao and Koh Chang.

Where to go on a luxury yacht charter in Thailand?

Being the sailing center of Southeast Asia, Thailand features luxury yacht charter destinations that offer a plethora of luxury yacht itineraries to choose from. Phuket is the top spot for luxury yacht charters in Thailand, with two world-class marinas: the Yacht Haven Marina, and the Ao Po Grand Marina, offering luxury services and hundreds of berths. Phuket also plays host to international regattas, such as the Phuket King's Cup Regatta, Asia's biggest and most popular regatta. The Phuket International Boat Show also happens once a year on the island, where some of the world's best superyachts are on show.

The seaside resort city of Pattaya is another luxury yacht destination in Thailand. Close to Bangkok, this city is a favorite weekend destination for locals, offering beaches and nearby islands to explore. It is also home to the Ocean Marina Yacht Club, another world-class marina in Thailand. Pattaya also plays host to The Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show, another event in Thailand where superyachts from all over the world are showcased. While Koh Samui doesn't have a marina, the islands offer many safe anchorages for luxury yachts to drop anchor.

Koh Samui has become a favorite for luxury yacht charters because of its popularity with the rich and famous. Offering luxury villas, resorts, spas, and indulgent experiences, superyachts have made their way to Koh Samui and called it home during the country's dry season of November to April. Thailand's magical islands and calms seas offer perfect sailing conditions in Southeast Asia. And with bustling tourism infrastructure, luxury villas, and resorts found on the coast, it is no wonder yacht charters are one of the best ways to enjoy an authentic Thai holiday.

Yacht charter in Thailand

An amazing combination of pristine nature, modern pace of life and best traditions of Buddhism is the cornerstone that attracts sailors to this country from all around the world. If you dream about unforgettable yacht charter, it should be in top of your list.

Located right in the heart of Southeast Asia, this country is surrounded by the Andaman Sea on the west side of the Malay Peninsula, and the Gulf of Thailand and South China Sea on the east side. Until  1939 it was called Siam, which means "freedom.” Bordered by Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, Thailand is the only country in Southeast Asia that has kept its independence through the years. As a result, the  traditional lifestyle that has been intact for centuries has been left  almost unchanged. Well known for peace and calmness, the Thai people will make your sailing vacation even more pleasant.

Geographically, Thailand can be divided into 5 distinct regions, but  the southern peninsula of Malay and the eastern part of the country are of the most interest to sailors.

Thailand is washed with two oceans – Pacific on the eastern part and Indian in the western part, Thus while sailing, you may expect moderate breeze, clean tropical waters, number of safe moorings  and anchorages. You definitely will not find here number of equipped  marinas or harbors, but on every mooring or anchorage you will easily find some cozy local restaurant, water supply or grocery store. While Thai cuisine and the hospitality of locals will definitely bring only positive vibes.

Gulf of Thailand boat rentals

Eastern part of country covers several provinces including Trat, Chantburi and Rayong. On the southwest, it reaches the Gulf of Thailand, and it borders Cambodia to the east. The rugged coastline is bordered  with rocky islands and covered with lush green forest. While sailing, you will see many rivers flowing south to create large mangrove forests, followed by pristine white sand beaches. The east coast is very popular for its resort areas, but few sailors know about  the more secluded yacht charter opportunities in Koh Chang.

Sailing in Koh Chang

The Koh Chang yacht charter base is located only 194 miles (312  km) from Bangkok and offers excellent access to the mostly untouched cruising grounds. Being the second largest island in the country (after Phuket), a Koh Chang sailing vacation is a perfect combination of emerald waters, white sand beaches and pristine jungle, waterfalls and stunning lush landscapes. Koh Chang means “elephant” in the Thai language. A fitting name for an island that is shaped like a giant sleeping elephant.

Phuket yacht charter

Phuket is the largest island in Thailand, and is located near the west coast in the Andaman Sea. The east coast of Phuket offers the finest cruising grounds, with easy access to 39 different islands. Discover towering pinnacles of limestone when sailing in the sheltered waters of Phang-nga Bay, set sails to see the famous Phi Phi located to the south of Andaman Sea, or the many beautiful locations in the province of Krabi. Make an offshore trip to one of the National Parks located in the Siliman, or Suring Islands, one of the most famous diving sites in the world.

The kind and hospitable people will make your sailing vacation and boat rentals in Phuket even more pleasant and memorable.

Best time for yachting in Thailand is from November to April. During this period, the weather is not too hot and there is quite a  small amount of precipitation. However, tropical climate and no typhoons make sailing in this region comfortable and safe all year round.

But even though, we recommend to choose the right time for travel. Favorable  conditions for navigation along the eastern and western coasts are from November to April. If you are looking for some extreme sailing conditions, you may go to the west coast from May to October, during the monsoon season. From November to April the weather is ideal for sailing both on the west and east coast of Thailand. From May to October – is the season of the southwestern monsoon. At this time, it is better to avoid the western waters but there are dozens of different sailing itineraries from the main yacht charter base located on the island of Phuket.

Sailing tips

Phuket is gaining growing popularity among sailors of different levels. It offers great coastline, quite simple navigation and a large choice of sailing itineraries of different duration. So, all this makes Phuket the best starting point for bareboat yacht charter.

This place is so popular that on top of three comfortable yacht marinas, two more were opened in the recent years. One of  the main advantages of Phuket sailing area is that gives you miles of emptiness and relaxing solitude free from big cruising ships.

Sailing grounds

There are two main directions of routes for yachts charter vacation – eastern and western. To the east of Phuket is the Phang-Nga Bay, where the famous Panuk and Hong islands are located. Also, you should pay attention to the James Bond Island, Krabi and Riley Beach, famous among rock climbers. The western shore of the island of Phuket is washed by the waters of the Andaman Sea, which is part of the Indian Ocean. The Similan and Surin are located 100 km northwest of Phuket and included in the top ten places on the planet for scuba  diving. Even further to the northwest are the Andaman Islands, known for their pristine natural beauty, incredible fishing and diving.

During your travel along the bay, you should definitely admire the network of amazing grottoes, caves and tunnels of Koh Panak. Landing from a yacht and having moved to a kayak, you can admire the hidden lagoons and mangrove forests that are in the center of the island.

In this direction is also the island of Krabi, famous for its snow-white beaches and emerald jungles.

During your sailing vacation, it’s worth visiting Phi Phi, a part of the marine national park. Here you will find closed lagoons, calcareous cliffs of striking height and much more.

A smaller Phi Phi Leh, was formed by limestone rocks. In this regard, the water around the island has acquired a unique turquoise hue. Although it is considered to be uninhabited, you can still find lots of interesting things to explore. Famous Viking cave with a picture of an ancient man, numerous swallow nests collected by locals as they considered to be kind of a delicacy.

Koh Hong considered to be one of the most fabulous islands in Krabi area. Here you may take your time and relax contemplating white sand beaches, hidden lagoons with shallow waters beaming with exotic fish. While on the anchorage take a kayak, and explore nearby caves. Up in the sky you will see sea eagles gliding in circles searching for prey while looking down you will find emerald bottom decorated with numerous starfish.

Bareboat charter will give you a chance to visit Koh Pannyi – a sheer rock, with a small fishing village near it built on wooden and concrete piles. Here, among mazes of huts you will find small colorful craft market as well as some bars and restaurants offering variety of fresh sea food dishes from the catch of the day.

It is hard to believe, but there is only one policeman in charge of the island, and couple of years ago there was even no electricity. An  interesting landmark is a football field built by schoolchildren directly on the water. There are no hotels, but you can spend the night on your boat or catamaran on a safe anchorage nearby.

Your next sailing destination is Koh Poda, covered with lush palm trees and surrounded by white beaches. A few meters from the beach there is a coral reef: here you can go snorkeling and admire the diversity of the underwater world.

The other island nearby is Koh Kai – a rock that looks like head and neck of a chicken. Part of it consists of steep rocks, and the opposite shore has beautiful sandy beaches. During strong tides this peninsula is partially flooded.

Phang Nga Bay will amaze you with its unusual, almost mystical beauty. A distinctive feature of this place are steep rocks, protruding vertically from emerald green water. The bay has the status of a marine National park.

Thailand offers great opportunity to combine yacht charter with diving. A lot of coral reefs, as well as a variety of underwater terrain provide unlimited opportunities for diving. Here you have a unique opportunity to meet whale sharks. The best period for diving is November-May. Visibility in water can reach up to 50 meters. Similan Islands are the most popular among divers. Phuket Island in the Andaman Sea is famous for deep-sea fishing and trolling. So, do not forget to rent a fishing kit and you’ll  have a great chance to catch tuna, barracuda, sailfish, marlin and other exotic fish.

Thai Cuisine

Thai cuisine is largely determined by the climate and culture of the country. Tropical vegetation and the proximity of the sea caused widespread use of various fruits, spices and seafood.

Also, migration and contacts with other peoples affected the ways of cooking. For example, the homeland of Thai tribes is mountain settlements in the southeast of China (modern provinces of Guangxi and  Guizhou). Between the 6th and 13th centuries these peoples migrated to the southern lands, where today Laos and Burma are located. Naturally, all this affected culinary preferences. Local  cuisine is a mixture of Chinese and Indian cuisine. Culinary traditions of these countries have had the greatest impact on the formation of local gastronomic predilections.

There are no strict cooking rules in Thai cuisine and taste of any dish depends not only on the set of products and spices, but also on the  personal style of the chef. Very important for Thai cuisine is the balance between food, spices and side dishes. For example, fried chicken with chili is combined with a soup of bitter melon with pork.

Rice in Thai cuisine is the most important product, it’s like bread  in Europe. And if the other dishes are served warm or at room temperature, the rice should be hot enough for you to see a steam.

The second main product is noodles: thin rice (kuaytiao sen lek), thick and nourishing (kuaytiao sen yai), yellow egg (bamee).

Thais eat little, but often. When serving the table, they do not use knives (all products are cut into small pieces). Finish eating usually with fruits. A favorite drink of Thai people is cold water (naam yen).

The main principle of local cuisine is to achieve a balance of five tastes: sweet, sour, salty, bitter and poignant. Various ingredients are used for this purpose.

The two most characteristic of these are curry-based sauce and coconut milk. All kinds of sauces are considered a delicacy, their use depends on the type of dish or meat type. The most famous are kaeng massaman (includes cinnamon, peanuts and nutmeg); kaeng kheow waan (sweet and very hot sauce with greens); kaeng karee (served  with potatoes).

An important nuance of the culinary traditions is the aesthetics of the dish. Making a filigree decor of vegetables and fruits (carving) has become a kind of art here.

All Thai dishes can be divided into four categories:  quick-and well – fried or steamed dishes, as well as soups; spicy dishes – salads or fried dishes with different amounts of spices, often with  the addition of coconut milk; salads – vegetable mixed with meat, the taste can be sweet, and sour but always spicy; cooked vegetables – usually sour, although you can meet them with a sweetish flavor.

Culture & traditions

In Thailand, you will find a wealth of nature perfectly combined with  ancient history, culture and traditions. There are hundreds of islands, beaches, coves and capes. While planning your sailing vacations  Thanks to tropical climate, beaches with  pristine white sand, crystal clear waters, excellent coral reefs and wonderful palm trees. Add to this the friendliness of the Thai people, their magnificent culture and wonderful cuisine. No wonder in recent years it became one of the most popular sailing destinations in Asia.

This country has a long history. And during your sailing trip it may open some of its secrets. Over the long years of existence, the inhabitants of this country honor not only the monarch  and the state charter, but also Buddhist norms. That is why in almost  every part of the country you will meet small churches and chapels with centuries of history. There are a few tens of thousands of them all over the country.

Local people call their home a “land of freedom”, because “thai” means freedom, and it’s not just a coincidence. It is the only country in South-East Asia that has preserved its independence from European states, while all neighboring countries were once colonies of Great Britain or France. This helped to keep its intact beauty and uniqueness.

The main sailing area for yachting is the Andaman Sea, but if you want to get more acquainted with the historical monuments of the  country, then the best choice will be the Gulf of Thailand.

Fans of nightlife should go to Bangkok and Pattaya. Discos, go-go bars, nightclubs every evening are filled with people looking for entertainment. Loud music, bright neon lights, noise and talk of passers-by create a specific atmosphere here.

An important part of Thai culture is traditional music. The Thais also attach great importance to the theater. Modern art (cinema, music)  is very popular too.

An integral part of the way of life of the Thai people is the elephant. In the past, these animals were used in battles, transportation of trees, and today elephants mostly entertain tourists. The image of an elephant can be found even on the Thai flag. Worth  visiting is the island of elephants Koh Chang.

While sailing do not forget to visit at least one the 80 national parks and 32 nature reserves. Khao Yai National Park is the most visited park in country. For those who like to watch birds, it’s  worth going to Doi Suthep National Park, Doi Inthanon, or to Khao Sam  Roi Yot Park in the south. There is the last preserved rain forest in the Khao Yai National Park, which is one of the best parks in the world.

Thailand luxury yacht charter

Known as "the "Land of Smiles," a luxury yacht charter in Thailand combines dazzling geography with unrivalled hospitality, rich local culture, buzzing nightlife spots, luxurious on-shore resorts and some of the world's best scuba diving sites. Yachts making their way through the Andaman Sea or the Gulf of Thailand will find plenty to explore, from the towering limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay to vast powdery beaches and tranquil turquoise lagoons on the Thai island of Koh Samui. With a concerted effort underway to turn Thailand into a top yachting destination in Southeast Asia, visitors can also expect an ever-increasing number of high-end megayacht facilities in the country's superyacht hub of Phuket.

Thailand superyacht season and weather

Thailand enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures staying between 25°C and 30°C all year.

Most charterers consider November to March to be the best months to visit when days are hot, sunny and less humid.

From December to March, visibility is often at its best and the Andaman Sea is calm. The wettest months are generally September and October. On the Andaman coast between July and October, the sea can get choppy and tropical rainstorms are frequent. As Ko Samui and Ko Phangan do not experience the southwest monsoon season, these cruising grounds can be a better option if you are planning a superyacht charter in Thailand between May and September. The tidal range can exceed eight feet.

Thailand yacht charter itineraries

With show-stopping cruising grounds, five-star luxury resorts and first-class hospitality, Thailand is primed to be a key charter hub in south east Asia .

The majority of superyacht charters focus around the Andaman Sea where there are more than 130 captivating isles within the province of Krabi alone. Off Phuket’s dazzling west coast the offshore marine reserves of the Similan and Surin islands offer superb snorkelling and diving with leopard sharks, octopus and kaleidoscopic marine life.

Phuket is the main destination for luxury yacht charters in Thailand. It's also home to the famous Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous, a premier racing regatta in Asia that attracts superyachts over 24 metres for eventful days of sailing and celebrating.

On the north tip of the island, Phuket Yacht Haven Marina accommodates yachts of 100+ metres. Ao Po Grand Marina is located on Phuket’s east coast, well positioned for exploring Phang Nga Bay, and can also accommodate yachts up to an over 100 metres. Yachts visiting the island's east coast and measuring less than 35 metres can dock at Royal Phuket Marina .

From Phuket’s palm-fringed east coast charters cruise into the spellbinding Phang Nga Bay, where great fingers of limestone shoot skyward from the sapphire waters. Yachts can take their pick of the multitude of pristine beaches and translucent lagoons. Stop at the Emerald Cave en route to Krabi where guests can head ashore to the vibrant night market, bars and restaurants.

Departing from Krabi, it’s a sun-kissed 30 nautical mile trip to Ko Lanta – the sleepy island of Ko Pu and its silky coves provide a good pitstop en route. With over 200 species of reef fish, along with whale sharks and kaleidoscopic marine life, Ko Lanta is a nature lover’s nirvana with some of the best diving in Thailand.

Around 17 nautical miles northwest of Ko Lanta, the magical crescents of the Phi Phi islands offer more spectacular beaches, hilltop vistas and fun-loving nightlife. The neighbouring islets, lagoons and coves are tailor-made for more snorkel, kayak and cruising fun – be sure to visit the famed James Bond island .

Cruising around the west coast of Phuket, luxury residences and five-star hotels abound, while the nightlife and markets of Kata and Patong offer a vibrant change of pace. Heading north, it is around 60 nautical miles to the untouched paradise of the Similan Islands. Celebrated for its colourful marine life, gin-clear visibility and a dizzying array of palm-dotted beaches, the marine park has a back-to-nature charm like no other. Awake in perfect solitude before cruising north to the equally beguiling Surin Islands and, if time allows, on to the mystical isles and anchorages of Myanmar.

Though most charters use Phuket as a hub due to the mature infrastructure and facilities, Thailand’s Gulf Coast also offers some stunning cruising of its own. The glittering archipelago of 42 picturesque limestone islands found off Koh Samui are picture perfect and the island of Ko Tao is world-renowned for its incredible dive sites.

Thailand by superyacht

Getting to thailand.

Thailand has many airports including Phuket International, Ko Samui, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Krabi airport, which all accommodate commercial and private jets.

Legal requirements

Until recently, charters in Thai waters could only be organised on local vessels, with foreign-flagged charter boats only able to visit as part of a multi-country itinerary (often beginning and ending in the Malaysian island of Langkawi, located 135 nautical miles from Phuket). However, these restrictions have now been eased so that foreign-flagged charter yachts are allowed to stay in Thailand much longer.

The crew were amazingly warm and friendly plus very knowledgeable and really strived to deliver a memorable experience. They hit the ground running and make sure everyone's having fun from the first minute that you jump on board. The cook (Doe) was also highly skilled and rustled up some of the best dishes that I've tasted whilst in Thailand...plus he uses fresh ingredients with not a hint of MSG! Available equipment such as Kayak's and snorkels are also really good with the only cost being for drinks (other than water) plus national park fees which are minimal. The group size is also quite small which made it much easier to settle in and we all got along amazingly. I'm already looking into my next Intrepid trip! :)

Pleasant. Don’t expect any sailing, it’s motorboat catered for tourists who want to relax, suntan and read a book and eat lots of good food. The wind wasn’t always there to be true but even when it was we had a scheduled tour so not many tourists were up for it so captain has to follow itinerary. It’s a bit sad as the boat crew are all very seasoned sailors who just make a nice little cruise for the middle aged. It’s 2 and 1/2 days not 4 as advertised. Main company is Intrepid and they have so many safety rules, makes you feel like a child in a holiday camp. I had a good time but definitely I’d like to try a proper sailing boat next time.

Yachting fam trip in thailand.

Watercolor painting of Bangkok on the Chao Praya River Thailand Southeast Asia YACHTING FAM TRIP IN THAILAND

Painting of Bangkok on the Chao Praya River – photo by Carol Kent / Watercolor by Waterlogue

I am just back from traveling 8,517 miles to one of the most amazingly scenic and dramatic familiarization tours I have ever been on – a yachting fam trip in Thailand. Traveling on exquisite yachts, we enjoyed the local custom and culture enveloping a three-week journey of Southeast Asia.

For a description of each motor yacht we were fortunate enough to have cruised on in the Bay of Thailand, please click on the links below.

97′ MIA KAI – Bilgin Motor Yacht is a stunning contemporary yacht that has 4 ensuite cabins and 5 crew.  We enjoyed outstanding service as we spent an entire day exploring Phi Phi Islands – a photographer’s dream. Born in the UK, Capt. Chris came to Thailand years back where he met his wife. He has extensive cruising knowledge of the Mediterranean and now prefers the beauty of these waters. The chef prepared traditional Thai meals and was conscious of our virgin Thai taste buds. Perfectly paired with wines, we all enjoyed the aft deck lunch and atmosphere.

108′ DOLCE VITA – Numarine motor yacht is modern comfort at sea. She sleeps 8 guests in 4 ensuite cabins. Between DOLCE VITA’s brilliant features and  Captain Danilo’s great personality, one week on this cutting-edge boat is hardly enough!   We sailed out of Phuket Marina and headed to the popular Krabi where both weather and water temperature were warm. READ MY BLOG :  Chartering in Thailand Onboard DOLCE VITA

101′ BLOSSON , built by Asondoa, has 4 contemporary en suite cabins for a maximum of 9 guests.  Her five crew includes a masseuse, a Thai Chef, and Ing (Chief Stewardess), a hospitality graduate of the University of Chiang Mai.

97ft Bilgin motor yacht MIA KAI cruising in Thailand YACHTING FAM TRIP IN THAILAND

Flying from Boston to Tokyo then on to Bangkok took approximately 22 hours. The plane ride on JAL (Japan Airlines) is totally different than our Western air carriers. JAL provides fresh local cuisine accompanied by bona fide Asian service with a smile.

I booked a Boston to Bangkok roundtrip ticket so I could take advantage of low fare one way air travel to Chiang Mai (75-minute duration with 45+ flights per day) North, then a one-way to Phuket (2-hour duration but less choices for direct flights), and back to Bangkok. Flying back to Bangkok is only 3 hours and prices begin at $40 U.S.!

Buddha and decorated altar in Bangkok, Thailand's River City.

THAI-TINERARY

I spent 6 days in Bangkok, only 2 days in Chiang Mai, and 6 days in Phuket (4 of which were cruising on 2 exquisite yachts out of Northern Yacht Haven Marina).

My philosophy is to get the most out of traveling: with flying and driving such a long-distance and a time change of 11+ hours ahead, one needs to saturate all the senses.

One must spend time in bold, bustling Bangkok, where transportation choices can be quite exciting.  Choose your Tuk Tuk driver who displays a yellow license plate (the government supplies the fuel so rates tend to be a great value). You can also get around Bangkok easily with the BTW sky train, and combine the city discoveries riding on the “long tail boats’ that ply the Chao Phraya river and intertwine major and small waterways.

Take three to four days to get acclimated to the heat and the many great aromas of street food stands. Bangkok has so much to offer, from temple-hopping (be sure to cover your arms, no shorts, and no shoes when entering) to shopping at the malls and street markets. Just for fun, we added a “must-do” side trip to Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand.  Home to elephant sanctuaries, the University of Chiang Mai where hospitality degrees are on the top list for students.  It has the best “Lady Boy’ show in all of Thailand, they claim.

Now we were ready to begin our yachting adventure on the island of Phuket.

Why travel to Southeast Asia when it is so far away from the US? According to World Travel and Tourism Council, Thailand has had a 7.8% increase in leisure travel in 2018 already.  It is now the time to get your vacation plans in order for 2019.  Believe me, it really is worth the long distance travel.

Phuket Island is known for its beautiful beaches, bars, and nightclubs. To escape the noise of increased tourism and to meet the demand for boating, there has been an increase in yacht choices for every budget.

Choosing the right yacht means knowing what is included in the price and what flag it flies. Many of the yachts have a registered Thailand flag which allows an itinerary that would suit a 4-7 day (or more) charter beginning and ending in Phuket Island.

If it is a foreign flag vessel, you may start in Phuket, however, you would need to end in Langkawi, Malaysia. This just means you’ll have to fly out of Langkawi International Airport, back to Bangkok – a 4-5 hour flight.

A one-way itinerary is also fabulous since many of the great dive sites are off the coast of Malaysia. This also means that being on your private yacht enhances your experience of the islands which are more remote. You can have your own Robinson Crusoe experience!

We help you find the right yacht, crew, and itinerary for your adventure. Our services are complimentary and help you make the most of all you want to do.

With rivers dissecting its land, and wrapped up by the Andaman Sea and the South Sea, Thailand offers endless opportunities for boat-trip lovers. Wherever your destination in Thailand, whether the city of Bangkok or the beautiful beaches and islands down south, you can certainly add boating activities to your itinerary.

Such activities include border-crossing cruises, river boating, city canal rides and long-tail boat rides at beach destinations. Below we help you discover more about the possibilities.

  • Cruise across the border between Thailand and Laos
  • Enjoy various sights of Thailand from a river-boat
  • Explore the city of Bangkok via its 'klong'
  • Discover more of the southern Thai islands by kayak
  • Spend quality family-time with beach activities in Krabi, Phuket or Koh Samui

A boat journey on the Mekong River is one of the most popular ways to cross the border between Thailand and Laos. Below you can discover how and when to join a border-crossing cruise.

Popular Cruise Route

The 300 kilometer-long river cruise between Thailand and Laos begins in Thailand at Chiang Khlong-Houei Say (Huay Xai) and goes to Luang Prabang in Laos.

If your travel time is short, you can take a six- to seven-hour boat, but if you're keen to spend more time on board, we recommend the slower boat, on which you can experience and discover more of Thailand.

If you like certain kinds of comfort and want to immerse yourself more in the beauty of Thailand and Laos, a slow boat is recommended. During the cruise, your border crossing, accommodation, meals, and local village visits are well managed by the provider.

The best time to cruise is from November to February when the weather is cooler, but the days are shorter, and mornings sometimes foggy. March to May is warmer, with May the hottest. June to November is the rainy season and on some days it can rain for a few hours.

Recommended Boat: Luang Say Cruise

Choice of boat depends on your budget and personal preference. We strongly recommend, however, that you choose a boat from an authorized provider with high safety standards, such as Luang Say Cruise.

Luang Say Cruise offers an all-inclusive package for a three-day cruise that includes three meals a day, two nights of accommodation at Kamu Lodge and the romantic yet luxurious Luang Say Lodge, guided visits to local villages, and group insurance. If you prefer a shorter cruise trip, a two-day cruise is also available.

With rivers winding through Thailand, river-cruising provides a unique perspective on the country. For visitors, boating on the River Kwai, the Chao Phraya River or the Mae Ping River is usually the best choice.

Twisting and turning on the Kwai River, you will visit Phra Pathom Chedi, the largest pagoda in Southeast Asia, see the panoramic mountain view of Kanchanaburi from a beautiful monastery, and explore the big Buddha statue and temples of Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Sua).

To fully explore the Kwai River, we recommend a four-day or a seven-day river cruise package from Cruise Asia. It departs twice a week, Monday and Thursday, in the downstream and upstream directions.

Chao Phraya River

Chao Phraya River cruises are north of Bangkok. When going north, you can watch how the city and skyscraper views are slowly replaced by small industrial buildings and factories, local stilt houses, and possibly some floating restaurants.

You could take a long tail boat as a short transfer between attractions. Chao Phraya Express boats serve popular tours on the river.

Mae Ping River

Mae Ping River cruises start from Wat Chai Mongkol and go to the really rural Thailand in the north. Their river boats depart every hour from 9 am to 5 pm, and cruises last 2 hours. They provide free pick-up from your hotel if you stay in Chiang Mai city.

In the morning, while sipping your freshly brewed coffee, you will pass the foliage of thick trees from bank to bank on a wide waterway.

The highlight of the trip is when the boat reaches the Thai Farmer's House, where you can learn more about Thailand's basic food - rice, local herbs, fruit, and fish. You may also try the signature local creamy curry soup 'khao soi'.

Small rivers and man-made canals are locally called 'klong'. Klongs used to embroider Bangkok as its main means of transportation, but some succumbed and were filled, becoming busy streets following Bangkok's rapid economic growth. Others, however, still play a huge part as tourist attractions in the daily lives of locals.

Klongs or city canal rides offer travelers insight into local lifestyles, floating markets, and houses. Riding on klongs also provides a quick way to enjoy Bangkok's city skyline without having to fight traffic jams on the road.

Popular Canal Ride Route

The city canal cruise provides you with various sights of Bangkok. To explore the klongs, it's recommended to rent a long tail boat for about 1500 to 1800 baht. This can carry up to 6 people. You can have a flexible itinerary and stop at any attractions that interest you, including temples and some city landmarks.

During your canal rides, you can visit Wat Khun Chan Temple, an unusual community art center - The Artist's house (Baan Silapin), orchid farm, Grand Palace Wat Phra Kaew, and the massive reclining Buddha statue of Wat Pho.

You can also combine the klong rides with floating market visits, such as to the Maeklong floating market.

The city canal cruise can last 5 hours to a whole day, according to your preference. It starts from the downtown Bangkok area, where you can first admire the view of the city skyline, and proceeds to narrower canals with different views.

Sit back in your passenger seat with your camera ready. Visit the temples and learn about their history from your guide.

If you are thirsty or hungry, stop floating vendors for a delicious chicken kebab or for fresh fruit. Interact with kids who might be swimming at the edge of the canals, and create great memories.

Recommended Operators

We recommend that you combine destinations to maximize your experience. BKK Tour offers unique combinations of canal rides and floating market visits on their one-day tours.

The tours start and finish at Khlong Toey Port in Bangkok. They first take you to visit Maeklong Railway market, where you can see how people trade on a railway.

It will be an unforgettable experience to see how vendors arrange their stalls and awnings seconds before the train comes. The second destination is Thailand's biggest floating market, Damnoen Saduak, and a visit to the Tha Kha traditional market.

See our market guide to learn more about these traditional markets .

Islands and beaches such as at Krabi, Phuket and Koh Samui are known for their breath-taking views, but they have more to offer.

If you plan to do a multi-island tour, you may also want to try other water activities such as banana boats, kayaking, or sailing on a private yacht.

One of our recommended sites for kayaking is Krabi Island. The tour begins in the afternoon.

Kayak along Thalane Bay or Phang Nga Bay as the sun sets, during a warm afternoon. Paddle your kayak to the tall green limestone karst cliffs nearby, but beware of the monkeys. Reach the quiet canyon and enjoy its tranquility, then paddle back. Finish your kayaking under the sunset, and prepare for a beach-barbecue to wrap up the tour.

Banana Boats

Banana boats are banana-shaped long rubber boats with footstep bars on each side. They can usually carry up to 6 people, and are suitable for a family or group of friends. Most of the beaches such as Pattaya, Cha Am, Hua Hin, Bangsaen, and Phuket have banana boat rides on their beaches.

After all passengers are seated and ready, the banana boat will be playfully pulled from the beach by a speedboat going at different speeds.

The climax is when the speedboat purposely pulls a very quick turn to make all the passengers fall into the water. It is safe, however, as there will be a boat there ready to help passengers afterwards.

yacht trip thailand

It was a whirlwind across a number of cities, but a very comprehensive experience across the many sides and cultures of China. Most days had sufficient activities, but weren’t overwhelming, which was great.Across cities, we had excellent tour guides, like Kitty (Beijing), Jenny (Xian), William (Guilin/Yangshuo), Kris (Shanghai), and Tony (Yellow Mountains.)

From the time we landed in Beijing until we left, we were well taken care of. My wife and I had Lily Liu as our guide and she was amazing. From arranging visits to all the different sights, to teaching us the history, it was fantastic.

The tour was excellent. Selinda was very knowledgeable about all the aspects of our tour. Selinda was very interesting and knew so much Chinese history

We made a private tour through South China in January 2024. Altogether Chengdu was the highlight. We had an incredible day at Emeishan. In Chengdu our guidewas Helen. She was the diamond of all. Speaking fluently English, full of interesting stories, laughing and talking all the time. We missed her the rest of our tour. We highly recommend to go to Chengdu for 3 days when visiting China, especially with Helen.

Other highlights are too many to mention but here are a few Ken taking us to the Terracotta Warriors and our food tour in Xian was amazing,

Our day volunteering at the Panda Base was truly unforgettable. Helen, our guide, provided us with invaluable insights about Chengdu and the pandas, enriching our tour with her knowledge and expertise. We're grateful to Helen for accompanying us throughout the day and showcasing the highlights of China.

We had a booking with China Highlights through Silvia Ye who guarenteed a perfect organisation. In Chengdu our guide was Helen. She was the diamond of all. Speaking fluently English, full of interesting stories, laughing and talking all the time. We missed her the rest of our tour. We highly recommend to go to Chengdu for 3 days when visiting China, especially with Helen.

We traveled to China during the Chinese new year and we had Kris as our guide and he is simply knowledgeable, helpful and great.

We visited Guilin for 2 days and stayed in the Guilin Waterfall hotel. Guilin was absolutely beautiful! Our guide, William, was very knowledgeable and kind! He taught us so much about Guilin and the surrounding area! We really enjoyed trying the specialty rice noodles of Guilin. Our highlight was the Li river cruise.

Amazing tour and the guide Mr. 贺霄 was very accommodating with our needs and request as we have bought our 2 years old with us. Well explained for all the place we visited. Any additional cost were informed well ahead and didn't felt any pressure if we opt not to go for additional detour. The trip was relaxing/ laid back/no rushing with zero shopping!
