Updated Coast Guard and Insurance regulations:

• Max of 12 total people  on all rental pontoon boats and Max of 10 total people on all tri-toon boats which include ALL AGES. This is out of our control and there are no exceptions.
• Tubing is NOT allowed  off of our boats
• ALL passengers and drivers must show up at our location.  Everyone is now REQUIRED to sign the paperwork  prior to leaving the dock.
• You  CAN NOT pick up any people during your rental  unless you come back to Odyssea Watersports dock due to the fact that they have to sign the paperwork as well.

Included with your rental:

• All safety equipment (life vest, anchor, first aid kit, etc.)
• A boater safety course and a lesson on the boat and how to operate it
• All of our boats are equipped with a fishing/crabbing license
• A map of the water for navigating
• A list of legal size limits for fishing
• Radio equipped with Bluetooth
• Bimini top and swim platform
• No charge for GAS!

Things to do on the boat:

• Fishing/crabbing:  These boats are great for that kind of activity! Spend some hours catching dinner for that night! We offer everything you need for a fun day of crabbing and fishing, including different bait options!
• Bar hop:  There are many of the local favorite bars to pull up to and tie up to their dock. BYOB as long as you have a designated driver!
• Relax and enjoy the sun:  Enjoy a relaxing time with your friends and family, bring a packed lunch and cooler, drop the anchor, and enjoy your company!
• Enjoy the  Ocean City Air Show  from the water (great view!)

Where can you go on the boat:

• Your most South boundary is 22nd Street which is where Fishtales Bar and Grill is located. The northern boundary is under the west Route 90 Bridge. We have a map on board and our boat instructors will go over the boundaries prior to you leaving the dock. There are bars and restaurants in the area and plenty of fishing spots as well.

Island Watersports offers the largest selection of rental pontoon boats on the Delmarva Peninsula, including brand-new Berkshire models. All of our boats are top quality to ensure you are comfortable while on the water. With a pontoon rental, you get a relaxing vessel with room for groups of up to 12 people (depending on weight). These boats are great to swim off of, fish & crab, as well as just riding to that nice secluded beach to get away from the summer commotion! Our pontoon boats also have Maryland fishing licenses. We are the only business in the area to have weekly pontoon boat rentals for those with waterfront homes. Returning this season, we have added brand new 2023 Berkshire tri-toons to the fleet.  These types of pontoons offer a smooth ride and larger capacity, as each tri-toon is equipped with a Mercury 115 motor.  Book in advance to reserve our new premium 2023 boats!

Center Consoles - Outboard

Island Watersports has the largest rental center consoles on the island. Our Wellcraft 20ft boats will hold 4-6 people and are equipped for those looking to reel in some fish. Center consoles have a smooth-riding hull offering a dry and comfortable ride out to your favorite spot, as well as enough power to get you there quickly leaving enough time to fish. These boats also house a live well and multiple fish wells to store your catches and bait. Island Watersports has fishing poles for rent and sale, as well as all the bait and tackle you may need for your vacation. All of our center consoles have Maryland fishing licenses.  Seating is limited, as these are fishing machines.  For comfort for families, we also offer f ishing tri-toons for 2023!

Scarab® Jet Boats - Watersports Equipped

Island Watersports is the only Maryland/Delaware business to offer Scarab jet boats for rent. Our jet boats are perfect for watersports, as well as offering the thrill of speed and great handling. These types of boats do NOT have a propeller, like many other speed boats. This means that our boats are the SAFEST for those renters with kids. The boats have plenty of power to pull your friends and family on one of our tow tubes, wakeboards, wake surfboards, water skis, or kneeboards. Boats range in size to meet the needs of every customer and allow for seating for up to 8 people or 1,325 pounds! Jet boats are capable of running up to 45 mph.  For watersports, we suggest no more than 5 people on the jet boats, which will leave extra power for tow sports.

Fishing Skiffs

Island Watersports is now offering small fishing skiffs. These skiffs are great for small groups to get on the water to fish, crab, and clam. These models have a very shallow draft allowing you to go places most boats can not. Skiffs are also our most affordable boat to rent, letting you get on the water for less than a night out to dinner would cost. Our skiffs have Maryland & Delaware fishing licenses.

Propeller Insurance is offered and highly recommended due to the shallow waters.

*All extras are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

All drivers must be 21 years of age and be able to present a valid, government-issued, photo ID at the time of rental. If you are born after July 1st, 1972 you need a valid boater's certificate to drive, if you do not have one, we can issue a temporary one prior to your rental at no additional cost.  We also suggest customers take a boater's safety course prior to renting.  Courses are available online at  https://www.boat-ed.com/maryland/ .

Life vests are provided for use with all rentals free of charge.

Reservations can be made via credit card over the phone at any time and for any date but will be subject to a $75.00 no-show or late cancellation charge. Cancellations must be made no less than 48 hours prior to reservation time to avoid penalty charges. You may rebook one time per reservation. Exceptions may be handled via the manager.

Our single sail catamaran has one line and one sail and is extremely easily to operate. It is the ULTIMATE beginners sailboat and fits up to four people.

Lessons - Lessons are available for rental cost plus the lesson cost

Our 16’ Hobie Getaway are performance boats with jibs for expert sailors only. We do offer lessons for beginners who prefer to learn on these boats.

Rent a Pontoon Boat or Ski Boat while visiting Ocean City, Maryland and enjoy time on the bay with your family and friends! Boundaries run from the Maryland/Delaware border at the RT 54 bridge to the RT 50 bridge in addition to the St. Martins River.

Ocean Kayaks

Explore the Isle of Wight Bay on a 1 or 2 person ocean kayak. Great for clamming the sandbars located in the bay just behind Bahia Marina, as well as an inexpensive way to view Ocean City from the water.

The 16' skiff equipped with an 8 hp Mercury outboard is perfect for a day of flounder fishing, crabbing, or clamming. Ask about our fishing, crabbing and clamming packages for $150.00. 4 passengers max.

17' Southern Skimmers

The 17' Southern Skimmer with a 25 hp 4-stroke mercury is a step up from the skiff. The wider skimmer allows for more stability in the water as well as a smoother dryer ride. Only drawing inches of water, it's the perfect boat for serious flounder fisherman. 6 passengers max.

24' Pontoon

All of the 24' pontoon boats are equipped with 60 hp mercury outboards. Holding up to 13 people, the pontoon is perfect for the whole family(and some friends). Great for fishing, clamming, and crabbing. 13 passengers max.

We headed straight to family run  Bayside Boat Rentals on 54th street, right next to Macky’s. They are known for their pontoon boat rentals, as well as their jet ski rentals. In fact, Bayside Boat Rentals has won Best Boat Rental in the Best of Ocean City® for 2023, and in many previous years too. Chad and Jackie Cutlip, the owners, have run the business for some 20 plus years. Along with their 3 children who have grown up behind the counter in the office and are now teenagers, they have around 15 employees each season, many of whom have worked with them for years; a testament to the great working environment at Bayside Boat Rentals. Chad and Jackie keep in touch with old staff, attend their weddings, hold their babies and see them while on family vacations!  They run their business and treat their staff and customers just like they run their household, says Jackie, “… with respect, honesty, fairness and tons of laughs!” 

How it all began

It all started in 1999, when Chad’s mom took a chance and bought a pre-existing business, knowing nothing about the industry, and gave it a go with Chad and his older brother.  After several years of ups and downs and another owner change, Chad and Jackie purchased it out right. It has been the two of them putting their hearts and souls into the business, and never giving up since then.  They have built Bayside Boat Rentals into what it is today. Many have helped along the way, and if you read their reviews, you will see just why they are the Best of Ocean City® for boat rentals. 

How easy is it to rent a pontoon boat?

Bayside Boat Rentals operates on a reservation-only basis, and they have been at this for so long that they have the check-in process down to a science! The driver must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license to operate the boats or jet skis.  The pontoon boats are very easy to maneuver and are on the slower side which makes them very easy for new drivers. The staff at Bayside Boat Rentals give PLENTY of instructions to safely operate the boat, and, on our visit, Jason went through everything you could possibly need to know. There is also the reassurance that Bayside Boat Rentals is only a phone call and a few minutes away should anyone need assistance during their rental.  The boats are capable of holding 8-12 passengers, as long as your entire party is UNDER the coast guard approved weight limit on the boat, so when renting, make sure you have an accurate head count at time of booking. 

Where to go once you are out on the Boat?

When you rent your pontoon boat from Bayside Boat Rentals, you have 7 miles of beautiful bay to explore.  The rental locations is in mid-town Ocean City on 54th street, and you can go as far south as the RT 50 bridge, (but not past it).  You can go as far north as the Delaware state line and the RT 54 bridge at Harpoon Hannas, and everywhere in between! Watch out for the sandbars near the Rt50 Bridge when the tide is low, it’s possible to get stuck on them!

You can have a relaxing day of fishing, crabbing or just cruising the bay. Bring a cooler and have a picnic on the water. We stopped on the St Martin River, by a little sandy cove, anchored the boat and took a swim. We weren’t the only ones doing this, it seemed a popular spot to relax. 

We also took the boat down some of the canals in North Ocean City where there were plenty of beautiful houses lining the waterways.  We picked out the ones we would want to own if we ever won the lottery! 

Bayside Boat Rentals buys new boats every year, so their entire fleet is in great shape and all of their equipment is always properly maintained. Our boat was clean and in perfect working order. Our driver thoroughly enjoyed his time behind the wheel, and the rest of our party felt like we were living the life, as we sat back with the wind gently blowing our hair and took in the sights!

Absolutely recommend. Booked the boat to spend a morning with a group of 6 total boating around and a bit of floating/swimming. Boat is spacious and in great shape. Plenty of space for 6 adults to sit and hang out + our cooler. Mason was our Captain and he was professional, educated and nice to hang out with. He taught us all about the area and knew the great spots to hang out and float/swim. Great experience.

Paradise Watersports is located to the left of Rt. 50 bridge just before you enter Ocean City, Maryland , at Hooper’s Crab House. No need to feed any parking meters — we offer plenty of free parking! My daughter and I went up with Tyler and Jack for 400 ft. Both of them were super nice and very helpful. My daughter loved it so much that we went again but this time we had Kyle and Scott and we went up 800 ft. Again excellent. We also went jet skiing with Noah and he made sure we were comfortable. My family and I had an amazing time parasailing with the team at Paraside Watersports. We were taken on boat by Lucas and Kevin who were both incredibly nice and informative. The two created a very fun experience that we will never forget. Lucas especially would make jokes that helped calm our nerves and feel more excited to go up into the air.
