What is prw.

It’s a powerboat racing website that has covered circuit racing, offshore racing and PWC since 2016. Maintained by The Race Factory based in Norway who have specialists in event planning and promotion, social media, graphic design, and photography. We are currently working on our vision and believe that we can and will make a different in powerboating. We will dedicate our time to produce accurate factual stories and to promote the sport to a wider global audience.

The dates and locations of the 2022 F1 calendar composing of legendary favourites like Port Neches (Texas Riverfest), Pittsburgh, and Lake Havasu have now been confirmed.

Series Promoter Tim Seebold said

We apologise for the late release of the schedule, but it has been difficult securing the race sites this off season. All of us are looking forward to seeing everyone and getting back on the water. Thank you for your continued support as we build powerboat racing.

The upbeat F1 Series Promoter is certainly looking forward to a constructive season.

New relationships have blossom because of the Lake Havasu Classic ’s sponsoring partners. We continue to work with Mercury Racing as we navigate the future of our sport and their involvement. Testing was completed with the APEX 200 engine with three of our teams giving us a better understanding of how the new engine package can fit into our existing program. Rest assured we are not abandoning our current program or any of the equipment that is being currently used. The goal is to offer an additional engine choice for the people who wish to utilise it while more importantly attracting new people to Formula 1 powerboat racing.  Our goal has been and will continue to be the growth of Formula powerboat racing through supporting all our competing teams and drivers. That’s our only agenda, no one gets left out!

The Formula One Powerboat Championship

The Formula One Powerboat Championship is a 6-race series contested  across North America from May through September. Established in 2017, the series  features weekend long community events highlighted by 20+ Formula 1 boats reaching speeds of 120 mph.

U.S. Powerboat racing first began in 1903. Formula One racing for the last five decades, has been recognized as one of the world’s most spectacular racing experiences. The F1 boats lightning quick speeds of 120 mph, razor sharp turns, create nonstop challenges for the world class drivers.  The up close and personal, deck to deck, sponson banging competition creates thrills rarely experienced by boat racing fans. Each race is more than a series of one-day events, these races have evolved into the marquee event for weekend long multi-interest community festivals. The races produce the largest entertainment event in the markets they visit, increase regional awareness while generating tourism dollars for the local economy.

Beyond the live attendance, the events provide media exposure, both nationally and worldwide through international coverage including live streaming on our social media outlets as well as traditional outlets. Through live attendance and media coverage, the series reaches millions of loyal fans each season.

E1 Series: Race calendar and format for 2024 all-electric powerboating championship

T he E1 Series is a new all-electric powerboating championship – with a host of celebrity owners from the world of sport and music.

Founded by Formula E architect Alejandro Agag, the competition launched in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in February and sees nine teams take to the water in unique ‘racebirds’, which can reach speeds of 57mph and are powered purely by batteries and electric motors.

Among the list of star-studded owners is Indian cricketer Virat Kohli , ex-NFL star Tom Brady , tennis icon Rafael Nadal and world-renowned DJ Steve Aoki .

And ahead of the second race this weekend in Venice, Hollywood actor Will Smith has launched a new team, named after Smith’s global entertainment company Westbrook.

What is the format?

Each race weekend consists of two days, with the first utilised for testing and practice.

Qualifying then takes place in the form of head-to-head time trials to round off the first day before four quarter-finals and two semi-finals on day two. The final sees four boats race to be crowned the winner.
