Candela C-8 wins European Powerboat of the Year 2023

We are proud to announce that the Candela C-8 has been named the European Powerboat of the Year 2023. 

This prestigious award ceremony, also known as “The Oscars of the Boat Industry”, was first launched in 2005 and has been held annually ever since. On January 21, 2023 – After two years of virtually held ceremonies- the presentation of the awards was finally back on site at Boot Düsseldorf.

This year a new category called “Electric” was introduced due to the increase in the manufacture of electric boats. The 5 candidates for this category (including the Candela C-8) are all among the best-selling powerboats in Europe. 

The jury of the European Powerboat Award are expert test riders and editors-in-chief of the European powerboat media and regarding the “Electric” category, they judged the nominees specifically based on design, safety, and a good quality-price ratio. Another important factor for them while selecting the winner was the execution of innovative ideas. They also considered important quality features such as speed and handling. 

Thanks to its unique industry-first hydrofoil technology features, which allow it to fly silently over the waves, the Candela C-8 was the winner of the “Electric” category by the jury.

48 Coupé – The Absolute Horizon is the European Powerboat of the year 2022 in the “Up to 20m” category

Yachts is having a brilliant start to the new year, as their 48 Coupé – The Absolute Horizon just won the European Powerboat Award 2022 in the “Up to 20m” category.

The first boat of the shipyard’s new Coupé line, the 48-feet yacht stands out for a sporty character combined with comfort on board . Alongside maneuverability and cutting-edge technologies , the boat features ultimate liveability and versatility , panoramic views provided by large windows and a sustainable attitude .

Selection criteria for boats ranging between 14 and 20 meters (the largest among those evaluatedby the judges for the Awards), included the quality of life on board for trips lasting several weeks, the layout and distribution of spaces , along with performance .

The panel of judges consisted of expert test riders and editor-in-chiefs of leading motorboat magazines in Europe, with a coverage of over one million readers per month worldwide. Organized by German magazine BOOTE, the European Powerboat Awards are now one of the most prestigious awards for boating worldwide. The winners were announced during a virtual ceremony held on Friday 21 January.

The Azimut Magellano 60 was recognized as the winner of the European Powerboat Award for the category of yachts up to 20 meters during boot Düsseldorf 2024

At  Flagship Night , the nautical industry event organized by Boot Düsseldorf with the publishing house Delius Klasing on January 20th, the winners of the  2024   European Powerboat Award  were announced, spotlighting the best boats tested by the jury during the previous nautical year.

Azimut’s Magellano 60 is the winner of the “up to 20 meters” category . Presented for the first time at the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival, the already award-winning Magellano 60 also amazed the jury of the  European Powerboat Award , which is made up of authoritative international experts from the main European nautical publications. They explained their decision to award Azimut, stating that, “the Magellano 60 impresses in the motor yacht class up to 20 meters. In addition to its successful visual appearance, the Magellano 60 is characterized by her newly developed hull, which ensures perfect handling at both slow and fast speeds. The workmanship and safety standards are also of the highest level”.

The Magellano 60, in fact, guarantees high performance with the  efficient Dual Mode semi-planing hull , which cruises in total comfort at low speeds and can reach higher speeds, all the while mitigating the impact of waves and optimizing the yacht’s consumption and emissions.

At just 60 feet, she is a true  crossover of the sea , complete with all the comforts appreciated on long voyages. The elegant external lines traced by Ken Freivokh combine with the large spaces on board; the most characteristic part of the Magellano 60 is the stern, which is transformed into an  Infinity Terrace  with a transparent parapet that offers visual continuity with the sea. Additionally, the natural extension of the Main Deck to meet the cockpit helps to harmonize the experience of the yacht with nature.

Today, the Magellano 60 is also synonymous with  reduced emissions , because she is the first boat in the Azimut fleet to run on  HVO , the  biofuel  produced by Eni Live (Eni Sustainable Mobility) with 100% renewable raw materials*. According to the results of the tests carried out by the Shipyard, this biofuel, combined with the Dual Mode hull, supports high levels of performance and a reduction in well-to-wake CO2 emissions of more than 80% compared to a yacht of comparable size powered by fossil fuels.

• The M48 Wins Recognition

Launched few months ago in an early première presentation at the Cannes Boat Show, followed by the fall boat shows,  the M48 has been very well received on the powercat market.  This new model has won an award and is nominated for two European prizes.

The M48 Receives the Design Innovation Award 2022

Awarded each year by an international jury, the " Design Innovation Award " recognizes new models presented at the Genoa International Boat Show.  This prize, created by the Italian Marine Industry Association and by the company, I Saloni Nautici , supports and encourages innovation in the world of nautical design.

This year, the M48 has won the prize in the multihull category.

Nominated for European Powerboat of the Year  2023

The M48 is also nominated for the prestigious title of " European Powerboat of the Year 2023," which is awarded each year by the German Magazine, Boote , recognizing outstanding new boat models on the European market.

Results are expected to be announced at the Dusseldorf Boat Show in January of 2023.

We are very pleased X Shore’s Eelex 8000 has been nominated for the European Powerboat of the year 2022 . The ‘European Powerboat Award’ is the most prestigious award of this industry worldwide.

The criteria that the jury will use to make its decision are based on a combination of value for money, performance and innovation. The aim is to honour those models that have valuable features, regardless the brand or market distribution. Therefore, there are five categories by length. The Eelex 8000 of X Shore is nominated in the category ‘powerboat up to 8 meter’.

The judges of the European Powerboat Award

The European Powerboat Award is presented by the test riders and editors of the leading European motorboat magazines. The Jury exists of: BOOTE from Germany, Boatmag.it from Italy, Båtmagasinet from Norway, Marina.ch from Switzerland, Motorboot from the Netherlands, Náutica y Yates from Spain, Neptune from France and Yachtrevue from Austria. The winner will be presented in January 2022.

The boat’s internal software: Boat owners can connect to the Eelex through their Garmin captain’s watch or via their X Shore app on their smartphone. Both with the watch and the app it is possible to start the engine with the press of a button. The software is constantly processing incoming data about the boat such as speed, the available range and charging status. A 100% electric boat requires less maintenance than the traditional powered yachts with a combustion engine, and most updates & maintenance can be done remotely over the air.

Electric motor and boating range: This high performance tender features an electric motor of 170 kW which is powered by a 118 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The electric propulsion system of the Eelex 8000 is completely quiet. The Eelex 8000 can reach a top speed of 65 km/h, at lower speeds you will have a boating range of 185 km. Enjoy the acceleration, the silence and the power of this full electric boat.

Practical design & sustainable materials: The Scandinavian Eelex 8000 has a minimalistic and bareboat design, this ensures boat owners to choose different layout modules. For the modular interior sustainable materials are being used. The deck of the Eelex 8000 is covered in cork which is comfortable, durable and improves the safety on board due to its non-slip characteristics.

The presentation of the awards "European Yacht of the Year" for sailing yachts and "Powerboat of the Year" for motor yachts is a major highlight every year at the boot Düsseldorf and an event that gets the hearts of many watersports fans pumping. At the traditional FLAGSHIP NIGHT, the big industry gala of boot Düsseldorf and Delius Klasing Verlag, the renowned awards are normally presented in a festive setting - but due to the Corona pandemic this year's ceremony took place without an audience in the International Maritime Museum Hamburg. This did not detract from the highly anticipated awards ceremony and the many interested watersports fans still got their money's worth, as the recorded awards ceremony - moderated by the two jury chairmen Jochen Rieker, editor-in-chief of YACHT magazine, and Thorsten Moench, editor-in-chief of BOOTE magazine - could be followed digitally on YouTube.

European Yacht of the Year: tests sailings of the 19 nominated sailing yachts

An expert jury of representatives from Europe's twelve leading sailing magazines traditionally picks the winners of the "European Yacht of the Year" award. Despite the difficult conditions due to travel restrictions and quarantine regulations, the judges went all out to test each nominated sailing yacht. After three test phases at three different locations (Kiel, Cannes and La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast), the 2021 winners were selected.

Every year, the international jury awards the “ Oscar of the boatbuilding industry ” in a total of five categories. Representatives of eight leading European motorboat magazines from countries such as Norway (Båtmagasinet), Italy (BoatMag.it) and Spain (Nautica y Yates) vote for the winners. In the “Displacement Yacht” class, you will find the typical traveling boats. The need for speed has reduced, comfort of living along with an efficient drive system and safety measures are in the limelight of the judges.

Halfway between a traditional lobster boat and a small explorer yacht, it offers the benefit of both types.

In the biggest boat class, considerations like “life on the water”, or the opportunity to spend multiple weeks traveling on board with several people, are taking into account. Once again the arrangements of space and the distribution of rooms on the different decks, together with the performance of the boat, are playing a huge role in this category.

New factors are added in the category up to 14 m – seaworthiness as well as range. Boats in this category have to be suited for longer distances, navigating across open water or traveling near the coast. The particular features needed to do so, like driving behavior, safety and range, have a big impact on the valuation of the judges.

Despite the adverse conditions of the past year, FJORD has nevertheless succeeded in developing a new top model with a pioneering deck module configuration. Below deck, too, the newly-crowned winner offers comprehensive layout options and first-class equipment.

The Fjord 41 XL yacht has been named European Powerboat of the Year 2021 by the continent’s leading powerboat magazines.

In the “Yachts up to 14 metres” class, the Fjord 41 XL overcame renowned competition to win the most important prize in the global motor yacht industry.

In 2019, at the international boat show in Düsseldorf (Boot Düsseldorf), our model D46 Open was elected best European PowerBoat of the year in the category of boats over 45 feet. By winning this award, we set a major milestone in Spain's history as the first Spanish shipyard that achieved such high recognition.

The D36 Open model has been awarded Best European Powerboat of the Year in the category up to 14 meters during the Boot, International Boat Show in Düsseldorf 2023. De Antonio Yachts is making history and demonstrating, once again, its leadership in innovation and design, obtaining for the second time the most prized award for all European shipyards.

It is not the first time De Antonio Yachts have participated in the awards, as we have been nominees on two other occasions. In 2018, with the D28, in 2020 with the D42.

The European Powerboat of the Year is a yearly award that recognizes the best five boats among all the models sold in Europe. The criteria which the jury bases their evaluation on space between value for money, performance, innovation. The spirit is to award the models that carry on valuable features, regardless of the brand or the market diffusion. That is why there are five categories by length, so the large and famous motor yachts cannot vershadow smaller or less popular boats that still offer peculiar traits.

The winners receive their recognition during an award-giving gala held on the first Saturday of the Düsseldorf Boat Show, one of the main events in the business celebrated in

mid-January every year.

We are very pleased to have won the Bronze Delta Award with our D42 yacht at the prestigious Delta Awards, organized by the Industrial Design Association ADI-FAD. We have been able to compete with companies and designers of the stature of SEAT, gold winner, Nacar Desig and GOFI, among many others.

The Delta Awards are given biennially in recognition of the work of industrial designers and manufacturing companies. Since their first edition in 1961, the Delta Awards have been an important promotional channel for designers and companies in the country and a valuable platform for public recognition.
