Madeleine was commissioned by Newport Classic Cruises for the day sailing charter trade in Newport, RI. Madeleine is a 72-foot two-masted schooner, which was specifically designed and built to carry passengers easily and safely. The schooner Madeleine maintains 19th-century sailboat style with 21st-century sailing comfort and convenience.

Excellent sunset sail tour! We really enjoyed it and the hosts/sail staff were very knowledgeable of the historic nature of where we were viewing. It was smooth sailing to say the least and very relaxing on a beautiful fall day in Newport, RI. They offer you beer, wine or soda during the ride.

Stu and Hillary made this sailboat ride exceptional. Not only was the ride beautiful, smooth and amazing for a first time sailboat ride but they were the icing on the cake. Their personalities were refreshing, funny, and professional all in one especially Stu. I loved how he allowed my son to raise the sail and help dock the boat at the end. He engaged with Stu and learned a lot so much so that he wants to learn more about sailboats and handling them. The tidbits of information from the area and little facts were great! This was a great experience and phenomenal way to end our first weekend in Newport! Captain Ben was great too! Thanks!!!

AWESOME experience! Crew is incredibly friendly; from the welcoming staff at the counter to the crew on the ship, they are ALL striving to ensure you have a wonderful experience. I have done both the "Morning Glory Sail" as well as the "Champagne Sunset Sail" and can attest to them both worth your time. I can not think of a better way to experience Newport's harbor and Narragansett Bay. Wes, the Skipper on both my sails, was very engaging and ready to pass on information (while still remaining very attentive to his Skipper responsibilities). Wes was ready to spin a yarn, doing so in such a way that you hang on and believe every word. I must sadly admit he had me believing the "tale of John Cable" (local swimmer who became such a hazard of navigation they laid down buoys marking the place where he swam "across" the harbor each morning) explaining the buoys marking the "Cable Crossing!" LOL Love these guys!!! Moi

The 4 gentleman crew were amazing! They were very personable and responsible! They were very knowledgeable about the local nautical history and maritime landmarks along the sail. The Madeline was very clean and comfortable. Complementary ginger ale and water were available! We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it. Good value for the money too!

Really enjoyed the sail. All female sailing crew and captain, which was totally awesome! Would do it again. Recommended for sure.

We had an absolutely gorgeous day to sail and the crew was amazing! Only downside was that we were on the scenic cruise with only ginger ale and water offered... unless you knew the crew. While we all sailed, a group of girls were able to constantly drink the champagne from the previous trip in front of the rest of us. They easily each had 4 drinks. Guess you have to know the right people to take advantage on the ride. Probably a good idea to be more secretive about providing champagne on cruises to friends when it's not offered to guest.

Went on sail boat ride, and the crew are so attentive and knowledgeable about the area. Anna in training to be a captain. We were impressed with the cruise, also the non-slip seats. Thank you crew for a nice ride!

Our sailing yacht are safe and comfortable with plenty of room to lay out a light picnic, relax comfortably with friends and loved ones and catch all the iconic waterfront sights of Newport and Narragansett Bay, including:

* Newport Bridge * Historic lighthouses * Fort Adams – A 19th-century historic military landmark * Stately waterfront mansions * Hammersmith Farm – the former Summer White House of JFK * America’s Cup boats and other performance sailing yachts

Your knowledgeable captain and crew are always ready to answer questions about the sights and history of Newport Harbor and its surrounding areas. From interesting facts to old-time legends, the maritime world of Newport has many great stories to offer.

Mimosas, wine, beer and soda are available for sale from $2 to $7 per beverage. Bottled water is $1.

New events and sail times are added quite frequently, especially as the sail date draws near. Sails run May through October! _____ What Is Not Included? * Food is not served during the sail, but please feel free to bring your own picnic! * The price of drinks is not included in the cost of your ticket, so please bring extra cash. Due to environmental concerns water bottles supplied or purchased by customer are filled for free, bottles of water purchased aboard are $1. Stainless water bottles for sale at our booth for $10.00. Meeting Location * Bowen’s Wharf at America’s Cup Ave & Mill St (Newport, RI) * (Exact meeting location details will be provided immediately upon purchase of tickets.) Policies Refund/Rescheduling Policy **Non-refundable can be rescheduled with 24 hours notice.** Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded. You may reschedule your tickets (subject to availability) only if you do so at least 24 hours in advance.

Weather Policy **Activity may be canceled due to severe weather.** The activity usually runs in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, but the seller may cancel the activity up to an hour before the start time in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions. If the seller cancels the event, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule tickets (subject to availability), receive credit for a future event, or receive a refund.

Other Policies

**Must be at the booth at least 5 minutes prior to departure.** If you are not at the booth for check-in at least 5 minutes prior to departure, we reserve the right to resell your ticket on sold out sails. If we do resell your ticket we will reschedule you to another sail or refund your purchase price. Please allow enough time to park and get to our dock. We don’t want you to miss your sail with us.
