The two architects behind this free-flowing, wonderfully nimble 54-footer are Roberto Biscontini and Lorzenzo Argento, whose creation paves the way for a new generation of high-end cruisers that optimize cockpit and interior layouts without any sacrifices to performance , practicality, or comfort.

The yacht carries the unmistakable DNA of the Oceanis range, a delicate balance of form and function that make her as pretty as she is capable, and as focused as she is versatile, equally ready for a fast ocean passage or a leisurely double-handed sunset cruise. With an emphasis on build quality, high-end materials, and the innovative vision that has always been a staple of the BENETEAU brand, the Oceanis Yacht 54 truly represents the pinnacle of the modern monohull cruising design.

NAVAL ARCHITECT : Biscontini Yacht Design

INTERIOR & EXTERIOR DESIGN : Lorenzo Argento

EXTERIOR DESIGN

With a straight stem allowing for new interior volumes in the bow area, and a maximum beam (5 m) carried further aft, the Oceanis Yacht 54 offers a state-of-the-art, perfectly balanced hull that maximizes thrills in all conditions.

Movement on deck was given special attention, particularly around the cockpit, which modernizes the traditional center cockpit design into a flush layout with distinct areas dedicated to lounging and sailing. Aptly drawn coamings and high bulwarks provide increased safety while transiting to the foredeck, and access to the sea is provided by the spacious swim platform, which, when deployed, reveals the space below the cockpit to store an eight-foot inflatable tender.

The Oceanis Yacht 54 is available with two different drafts: 2,50 m (standard), 1,95 m (option).

54 ft yacht

Interior Design

Lorenzo Argento’s objective in designing the interior was to create a warm, modern atmosphere with as much natural light and ventilation as possible.

The Oceanis Yacht 54’s layouts reflect a desire to meet the needs of modern-day owners, through well-engineered, versatile cabin arrangements that provide unrivaled levels of comfort and capacious storage space. Tables and seating areas have been reimagined to offer both conviviality and practicality, and access to all major systems and components hides in plain sight.

There are two versions available, a 3-cabin 2-head or a 3-cabin 3-head, and both can be built using light oak or walnut.

54 ft yacht

Every detail of the Oceanis Yacht 54 has been meticulously examined to become one with the crew and the sea.

She is, at a glance, unmistakably Oceanis – the mainsail arch, the modern sheerline, the elegant proportions, those distinctive coamings and portholes – and honors her pedigree by continuing to offer the features that have made the range a standard-bearer in the industry. A vast array of options, trim levels, rigging and keel setups, and mechanical components ensure there will be a tailored yacht to fit the needs of every sailor, and her stylish looks will turn heads in every harbor on every ocean.

54 ft yacht

Safe and Easy Sailing

The Oceanis Yacht 54 isn’t just modern on the outside; it is a yacht that is crammed with the latest and greatest sailing technologies, intuitively built into her systems, that are designed to make the cruising experience as easy and as enjoyable as possible. Ship Control, an interface that allows access to boat data and components, is installed as standard. Dock&Go, which greatly facilitates engine-powered manoeuvering in tight spaces by combining a 360 degree rotating pod with a retractable bowthruster, is available as an option. Under sail, the optional Harken AST (assisted sail trim) automatically trims the sails based on apparent wind, all controlled by a simple display in the cockpit. Shorthanding a 54-footer has never been easier.

Great Ease of Movement

The flush cockpit allows for seamless movement between the companionway and the helm stations, creating an invisible partition between active and passive areas on deck. The flow to the aft swim platform and down the gangways to the foredeck is remarkably natural, and the positioning of lines, winches and controls allows for near-effortless sailing. Sightlines from the helm forward are excellent. The cockpit seats feel comfortable yet snug, though it is the foredeck sunpad that is likely to be the most popular spot on the boat.

Exclusive Trim and Materials

A close inspection of the Oceanis Yacht 54’s engineering and build quality reveals a craft that is decidedly a cut above the rest. Every single aspect of the boat has been carefully reexamined and nothing has been taken for granted - from the high-quality door fixtures and upholstery, to the exquisite molded woods of the interior, to the aluminum sub-floor that increases rigidity yet saves weight. The owner will be able to choose between two cabin layouts (both with two wood options available) and a palette of upholstery and paneling choices, to say nothing of electronic, mechanical, and rigging selections. Whatever the choice, on such a beautifully executed boat, the owner is bound to be one with the boat, and one with the sea.

A connected boat

The mobile application, Seanapps , and its onboard unit lets you view the status of the boat's various systems (battery charge, fuel or water tank levels, maintenance scheduling) via your smartphone, as well as planning your route or reviewing your sailing status using your mobile phone.

The second variant has two additional pilot bunks. Both layouts feature a large saloon with the owner's berth near the bow. Since this 54-foot yacht is a semi-customized vessel, the owners can decide on the interior design themselves. By default, the interior is bright white with beautiful mahogany details.

With halyards and the jib sheets running below the deck, the Eagle 54 has an ultra-sleek deck layout. For easy handling, the jib winches are positioned within reach of the helmsman. Just forward of the jib winches, the two halyard winches, which double as gennaker sheet winches. The halyard's tails neatly disappear in the cockpit coaming. A captive winch mounted below deck, allows the mainsheet to be trimmed with the push of a button. Also the powered headsail furler is mounted below deck. The standard rigging features a carbon mast and boom. The boomvang and backstay are easily controlled from the helm on the hydraulic panel.

Best Full-Size Cruiser 50-54 Feet

  • By Herb McCormick
  • Updated: December 12, 2017

Dufour 520

Winner: Dufour 520

Three French boats of similar size and price points came together to form the Best Full-Size Cruiser 50 to 54 Feet class. The Beneteau Oceanis 51.1, Dufour 520 and Jeanneau 51 were built from three of the world’s most established and well-known high-volume production boatyards.

The Beneteau 51.1 was a fresh, new design, not a scaled-up add-on to a previous line of yachts. Its hull form includes a hard chine, something that Tim Murphy immediately noticed. “Beneteau was one of the first companies to add chines, they were in the first wave,” he said. “The chines were always aft of the beam, and you’d hear three things about why they were putting them there. Some would say it’s for styling, some for performance, some for interior volume. It does give you a structural bump in the hull form.

“This boat, according to a company representative, was inspired by Rambler, an 88-foot maxi racing boat that has a very, very fine entry forward and then the chine right up near the bow, so it gets some flare and volume straightaway. This Beneteau is also carrying the chine forward, which gives you low wetted surface below the waterline and then large interior volume outside of that. So this is a new thing we’re seeing.”

“I thought the boat sailed very nicely,” said Bill Bolin. “The code zero sail was fabulous, it really lit the boat up. It had a big bimini, but it wasn’t a problem getting out of the cockpit from the steering stations, which were in the aft corners.”

Jeanneau 51

“On the motoring side of things, this boat has plenty of power,” said Ed Sherman when discussing the Jeanneau 51. “At 2,800 rpm, we were getting 8.5 knots, and the sound levels were very low.”

“One of the things I hadn’t seen on a boat this size was the aluminum stringer system down below,” said Bolin. “During sea trials, we had light air, maybe 6 to 8 knots of breeze, and the boat was making 4.8 to 5 knots. And when the wind picked up a little, we actually registered 6.6 knots. It tacked through about 95 degrees, so from a performance standpoint the boat was pretty good.”

“The Jeanneau 51 is the smallest boat in Jeanneau’s Yacht series, which also includes a 54, 58 and 64,” said Murphy. “They call the transformer transom, which folds down to make a swimming and boarding platform, the ‘terrace.’ So they’re able to use the same part for the 51’s terrace as they do for the 54. It’s the same for the cockpit table. So that’s one of the reasons they’re able to bring in the smaller boat at a competitive price point.”

At $420,000 for the base boat, the least expensive yacht in this grouping was the Dufour 520. “In terms of motoring capability, it’s quite good,” said Sherman. “We got 9.2 knots at high speed, which was excellent.”

Beneteau 51.1

“The Dufour offered the most pleasurable sailing experience in this class,” said Murphy. “It starts with the helm, which answered beautifully and I didn’t feel like I was fighting it. It was a very smooth feeling. We did not sail it in a lot of breeze, maybe 7 to 8 knots, but we were making close to 6 knots. I wrote down, ‘The helm feels good,’ and underlined it.”

The creature comforts were also outstanding on the Dufour. “There’s a lot of flexibility in the cockpit,” added Murphy. “When sailing, you use it in the traditional way. But once you’re at anchor you have sun pads that come out and a transom that folds down to reveal a sink, grill and fridge. So it becomes kind of a party platform with the outdoor galley.

“Down below, you have the [real] galley forward, so all of the social space is gathered right at the base of the companionway stairs when you come down. The navigation station slides forward, so you can use it as an aft-facing nav station or a forward-facing table for socializing. There were all these things that adapt to the different ways people use their boats, and that boat was also the best to go sailing on. The helm felt the best, there was a traveler on the main so you could shape your mainsail leech, and it had a good suit of sails, so it also gave you the most options there.”

“It has a lot of unique features, and they delivered them well,” said Bolin. “I feel the Dufour 520 was the winner of the Best Full-Size Cruiser 50 to 54 Feet class.” And so did his fellow panelists.

The Real Cost of Buying & Owning a 50-Foot Yacht

A 50-foot yacht can be difficult to maneuver, especially in tight spaces and harsh weather, so you need to invest in proper training for yourself and your crew. You may also need to apply for special permits and licenses to operate in certain areas. These factors can add up quickly to the overall costs, so if you are determined to own a 50-foot yacht, here's the real cost of buying and owning one.

The total estimated upfront costs of buying a 50-foot yacht range from $458,000 to $692,000 and include the initial purchase price and other fees. There are also hidden costs that total $70,000–$300,000+ per year. For ongoing costs, the total estimated annual costs are $35,000–$85,000 per year.

Although costly, with proper budgeting, maintenance, and strategic planning, you can manage the costs of owning a yacht and still enjoy the lifestyle that comes with it. Let's look at some practical tips to help you manage the costs of owning a 50-foot yacht.

  • A high-end luxury yacht may cost significantly more than a basic production yacht with standard features and finishes.
  • A new yacht with low engine hours and minimal wear and tear may command a higher price than an older yacht.
  • Hiring a surveyor can help you save money in the long run by identifying any potential problems before you purchase the yacht.
  • Fuel costs can add up quickly, since a 50-foot yacht with twin diesel engines uses almost 20–30 gallons of fuel per hour.
  • Winter storage can protect your yacht from the elements, and it can also add up to the overall cost of owning a yacht.

A high-end luxury yacht with state-of-the-art technology, custom finishes, and top-of-the-line appliances may cost significantly more than a basic production yacht with standard features and finishes.

Similarly, a newer yacht with low engine hours and minimal wear and tear may command a higher price than an older yacht with more use and maintenance requirements. Yachts located in popular boating destinations or areas with high demand may be priced higher than those in less desirable locations.

Here are some examples of different yacht models, their amenities, and estimated prices:

Sales tax and registration fees

When you purchase a yacht, you will need to pay sales tax and registration fees. In some states, you may be able to avoid paying sales tax if you purchase the yacht in a different state and keep it there.

In Florida, the sales tax rate is 6% , but there is a cap of $18,000 on the amount of tax you will pay. So if you purchase a yacht for $500,000, you will only pay $18,000 in sales tax.

On the other hand, registration fees are the fees you need to pay to register your yacht with the state where you plan to operate it. The fees are typically used to fund marine programs, such as boating safety education, law enforcement, and conservation efforts.

54 ft yacht

Some states charge a flat fee, while others charge based on the length of the yacht. In some cases, the registration fees may also be based on the age or value of the yacht. These fees are typically renewed annually, and failure to renew your registration can result in penalties or fines.

Registration fees in Florida for a yacht over 110 feet in length can be as high as $4,000 per year. However, for a yacht under 16 feet in length, the registration fee is only $5 per year.

Survey and inspection costs

A survey and inspection is essentially a thorough examination of the yacht by a professional surveyor. The surveyor will inspect the vessel from top to bottom, looking for any issues or potential problems that could affect the yacht's seaworthiness or value. This includes checking the hull, deck, rigging, electrical systems, plumbing, and more.

For smaller yachts, the cost may be a few hundred dollars, while larger and more complex yachts could cost several thousand dollars.

By identifying any potential problems before you purchase the yacht, you can negotiate with the seller or even decide not to purchase the yacht altogether. In the long run, this can save you money and help ensure that you're making a sound investment.

Insurance and financing costs

Insurance rates can vary widely, but you can expect to pay a premium for coverage. The higher the value of the yacht, the higher the insurance premium will be.

As for financing, the interest rates for yacht loans are typically higher than those for home or car loans. This is because yachts are considered luxury items and are often seen as a higher-risk investment. The interest rate you'll be offered will depend on your credit score, income, and the amount of the loan you're seeking.

54 ft yacht

Aside from the upfront costs, there are also hidden costs beyond the initial purchase price. Here are some hidden costs you should be aware of:

Environmental and regulatory compliance

Owning a yacht also comes with environmental and regulatory compliance costs. You may need to pay for permits to dock your yacht in certain areas, or you may need to invest in equipment to comply with environmental regulations. These costs can add up quickly and may not be immediately apparent when you're considering purchasing a yacht.

Crew and staffing costs

If you plan to use your yacht frequently, you'll likely need to hire a crew to help you maintain and operate it. Crew and staffing costs can include salaries, benefits, and insurance, and can be a significant expense over time. Additionally, you may need to pay for crew training and certification , which can add to the overall cost of owning a yacht.

If you're looking for paid courses for your crew, here are 9 best sailing courses you might want to check out.

Costs of upgrades and customizations

While a 50-foot yacht may come equipped with many standard features, you may want to add additional amenities or customize the interior to your liking. These upgrades can be expensive and may not be covered by your initial purchase price.

Upgrades and customizations can range from relatively minor changes such as adding a new sound system or upgrading the navigation equipment, to more extensive modifications such as adding a new deck or completely redesigning the interior of the yacht. The cost of these upgrades will be based on the extent of the modifications and the materials and labor involved.

In this section, we will discuss the ongoing costs of owning a 50-foot yacht.

Maintenance and repair costs

Regular maintenance helps keep your yacht in good condition and prevents costly repairs. Some common maintenance and repair costs include:

  • Engine maintenance
  • Hull cleaning and painting
  • Electrical and plumbing repairs
  • Sail and rigging repairs: ( Here's an article on the cost of replacing a standing rigging )
  • Interior and exterior cleaning

Docking and storage fees

Some common docking and storage fees include:

  • Monthly slip rental fees: These fees cover the cost of renting a slip at a marina or dock for your yacht to be moored. Slip rental fees can range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars per month.
  • Winter storage fees: During the off-season, many yacht owners choose to store their vessels on land to protect them from the elements. The cost of winter storage can range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars per season.
  • Launch and haul-out fees: These fees cover the cost of launching your yacht into the water and hauling it out for maintenance or storage, and vary based on the location and the size of your yacht.
  • Electricity and water fees: Many marinas charge additional fees for the use of electricity and water while your yacht is in the slip.

Fuel and operating costs

A 50-foot yacht typically has twin engines, which can be either gasoline or diesel. Diesel engines are generally more fuel-efficient and have a longer lifespan than gasoline engines, but they are also more expensive to purchase and maintain.

On average, a 50-foot yacht with twin diesel engines will use about 20-30 gallons of fuel per hour, while a gasoline-powered yacht will use about 40-50 gallons per hour.

Routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and hull cleaning is part of the overall operating costs and will cost several thousand dollars per year. More significant repairs or upgrades, such as engine overhauls or electronics replacements, can cost tens of thousands of dollars.

Costs for insurance and maintenance reserves

Insurance can protect you from liability and damage to your yacht, while maintenance reserves can help cover unexpected repairs. Some common insurance and maintenance reserve costs include:

  • Liability insurance
  • Hull and machinery insurance
  • Personal property insurance
  • Emergency repairs and reserves

Here are some tips to help you manage the costs of owning a 50-foot yacht:

Create a budget and stick to it

Your budget should include all of the costs associated with owning and maintaining your yacht, including mooring fees, insurance, fuel, maintenance, and repairs. Try to plan for unexpected costs, such as emergency repairs or unexpected upgrades.

You should also plan ahead for seasonal expenses, such as winterizing your yacht when the boating season is over . By creating a budget and planning ahead, you can avoid surprises and ensure that you have the funds necessary to keep your yacht in top condition.

Do the basic maintenance and repairs by yourself

While there are some tasks that require a professional, such as engine repairs or electrical work, there are many things you can do yourself with a little knowledge and the right tools.

By doing your own maintenance and repairs, you can save money on labor costs and ensure that your yacht is always in top condition. You can also take pride in knowing that you are taking care of your investment and keeping it in great shape.

Consider sharing and chartering options

If you don't use your yacht all the time, you may want to consider sharing or chartering options as a way to offset the costs of ownership. Sharing your yacht with friends or family members can help split the costs of maintenance and repairs while chartering your yacht to others can help generate income.

There are many websites and companies that specialize in yacht sharing and chartering where you can find an option that works best for you. Just be sure to carefully vet anyone who will be using your yacht to ensure that they are responsible and will take good care of your investment.

Learn some selling and trading strategies

If you find that the costs of owning a 50-foot yacht are too high or you are ready to move on to something else, you may want to consider selling or trading your yacht. There are many strategies you can use to get the best price for your yacht, including working with a broker, advertising online, or attending boat shows.

If you are interested in trading your yacht for something else, perhaps carefully consider your options and work with a reputable dealer. By using these strategies, you can ensure that you get the best value for your investment and can move on to your next adventure with confidence.

He is an accomplished sailor with over 30,000 sea miles under his belt on a range of vessels. They cruised the East Coast of Africa, Indian Ocean, SE Asia, Indonesia, and Australia. Rob has a passion for the ocean and loves water sports. He is a qualified surf life saver, pilot, advanced diver, and avid fisherman. He has a particular passion for salt water flyfishing. He loves to go out and hopefully return with something delicious to toss on the BBQ. Mountaineering is Rob's other passion, and he has hours of adventures on mountains spanning the globe. His epic adventure to Mt. Everest is worth listening to over a cocktail sundowner! When Rob is not out skippering and entertaining, you will see him working in the galley with Belinda. Cocktails and the BBQ are part of Rob’s regime, and he knows the perfect stories to tell while you enjoy them! Chef Belinda Bentley Born and raised on the East Coast of South Africa, Belinda has spent her life close to the sea, camping, swimming, scuba diving and fishing as well as hiking and climbing the inland Drakensberg mountains. She is a ‘people’s person’ and in addition to her culinary training, is also trained as a professional nurse, specializing in maternity. Belinda is a generous and passionate cook who has been influenced by travel and time spent in many different countries. She is particularly fond of Asian cuisine, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, but also enjoys spicy Mexican, Indian and Mediterranean influences. She loves to cook fish and seafood and pair it with local, fresh, seasonal ingredients. She enjoys bright and bold flavours, especially citrus notes which do well to compliment the Caribbean climate. Delicious cool and creamy desserts round off dinner and ensure full and satisfied guests! He is an accomplished sailor with over 30,000 sea miles under his belt on a range of vessels.<br /> <br /> Worthy of mention was the family sailing adventure where Rob, Belinda and their 2 children embarked on a 4-year world cruise on their catamaran, Shayile. They cruised the East Coast of Africa, Indian Ocean, SE Asia, Indonesia, and Australia. <br /> <br /> Rob has a passion for the ocean and loves water sports. Everest is worth listening to over a cocktail sundowner!<br /> <br /> When Rob is not out skippering and entertaining, you will see him working in the galley with Belinda. She is particularly fond of Asian cuisine, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, but also enjoys spicy Mexican, Indian and Mediterranean influences.<br /> <br /> She loves to cook fish and seafood and pair it with local, fresh, seasonal ingredients. She enjoys bright and bold flavours, especially citrus notes which do well to compliment the Caribbean climate. Private sailing, crystal blue waters, snorkeling with turtles, and stingrays, and wonderful conversation with my favorite people, what could make it better? I'll tell you what could make it better, "B!!!" Belinda took this vacation to another level. Each meal was part of the adventure. Exquisite in flavor, and designed to our tastes, she made exception after exception in making exceptional cuisine, and plated it like it was the art that it was. Rob was an amazing captain, who brought so much security and comfort to the group knowing that we were in such capable hands. If you are lucky enough to get them to lead your charter, get him to tell you his adventure stories of years of sailing around the world and his famous experience at Everest base camp. Well worth the investment to spend time with not only amazingly talented people in their own rights, but such wonderful people. I can't wait to do another adventure with them!<br /> <br /> We recently returned from a sailing trip with Rob and Belinda on the Mystic. This was our first sailing trip. It could not have been better. Belinda prepared amazing meals for us. We had a former chef in our group and even he was amazed and what Belinda came up with in a small boat kitchen. Rob was terrific. He was always happy to take us where we wanted to go. He had very interesting stories about his life on the sea and other places. It would be hard to imagine a better crew. The boat was also very well appointed. We hope to do another sailing trip in the future and would pretty much find where Rob and Belinda are going and then go with them.<br /> <br /> There are experiences, and there are experiences! We had the time of our lives with Rob and Belinda. I struggle to imagine anyone performing better than they did. Rob was the consummate professional, always supporting any activity we wanted to do. Belinda created meals and eating experiences that were amazing. I still struggle to understand how she pulled it off from a tiny galley. I would follow them to any vessel they serve on.<br /> <br /> ";s:10:"yachtGC1P1";s:0:"";s:10:"yachtGC1P2";s:0:"";s:10:"yachtGC1P3";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtGC2Title";s:13:"December 2023";s:8:"yachtGC2";s:376:"We had an incredible trip. This couple/crew are hospitable, knowledgeable, charming, warm, and funny with a great sense of humour. They complement each other so well as 1st mate and sous chef! They provided tips on and gave historical and nice to know facts of the islands we visited. By the time our charter ended I felt we were one happy family.<br /> <br /> Captain Rob navigated the Mystic with skill and finesse, in and out of marinas and bays like he was eating a piece of his wife’s delicious cake. He ensured our safety on board and in the water. I personally have balance/mobility issues, and he made sure I could confidently access all areas of the Mystic. He and Belinda both used the hydraulic swim platform so I could safely enter and exit the water. He even snorkelled one on one with me so I wouldn’t miss out on that experience. <br /> <br /> Chef Belinda…I can’t say enough about her culinary skills. Her meals were delicious, flavourful and the presentation/plating were indescribably beautiful. Without missing a beat, she was able to adapt her widely varied menus to meet the dietary requirements of all guests. I can’t thank her enough for the lengths she went to decorate the salon and provide a delectable cake for a surprise birthday celebration for 2 guests on the last night of our charter. <br /> <br /> I can say without hesitation, were it not for the crew of Rob and Belinda Bentley on the Mystic 5.4, this sailing adventure would not have been the experience of a lifetime it was. <br /> <br /> Merci infiniment, muchas gracious, gracie mille……I can’t say thank you to Rob and Belinda too many times or in too many ways….you’re The Best!!!<br /> <br /> Valarie <br /> Mystic: 7/15-7/22/2023<br /> <br /> ";s:10:"yachtGC3P1";s:0:"";s:10:"yachtGC3P2";s:0:"";s:10:"yachtGC3P3";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtGC4Title";s:9:"July 2023";s:8:"yachtGC4";s:2379:"What a great adventure! To have such a wonderful and new experience with family made us feel very blessed, and it was topped off with such a fantastic crew of Captain Rob and Chef/First Mate Belinda Bentley on the Mystic 5.4 catamaran. Not only was the catamaran absolutely stunning and accommodating, but the Bentleys also ensured we enjoyed every minute of it!<br /> Captain Rob is an experienced professional, all the while being polite, personable, and dedicated to not only the boat but also the guests. He shared his extensive knowledge of manoeuvring the boat, the sail functions (when and how to use them), and the complex navigation system with the guests interested in the operation of the catamaran.<br /> <br /> Chef Belinda was meticulous in every meal’s preparation and presentation. Every meal was made with love and care while considering the guests’ specific dietary needs. Her incorporation of exotic, local flavours and spices elevated the meals even more! Not only did she prepare three meals a day, but she also provided a snack between meals. Never to disappoint the guests’ tastebuds! Her food is worthy of a James Beard Foundation Award! <br /> <br /> Together Rob and Belinda took excellent care of the guests and the luxurious catamaran. While traveling to various islands, Rob and Belinda briefly described the island’s intriguing history, where the best places to swim/snorkel are, and the attractions, restaurants, and shopping available. Both made sure the guests knew water safety and the use of the equipment provided to ensure the guests had the best experience in the beautiful Caribbean seas. Captain Rob even led a group snorkelling and showed the best place to view the magnificence of the creatures in the water. While guests were off the boat or lounged on one of the decks, Chef Belinda was guaranteed to be in the kitchen preparing the next meal, snack, and dessert.<br /> <br /> They work so well with each other and interact with the guests delightfully and sincerely. Captain Rob and Chef Belinda truly felt like family by the end of the adventure! No words can express how grateful we feel to have been with the Bentleys on our vacation. They have set the bar so high that we MUST have our future vacations with them on the Mystic 5.4! Rob and Belinda rock!!";s:10:"yachtGC9P1";s:0:"";s:10:"yachtGC9P2";s:0:"";s:10:"yachtGC9P3";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtGC10Title";s:18:"New Years Flotilla";s:9:"yachtGC10";s:2705:"Not one of our 20 members were disappointed with their trip.<br /> It was our best trip to date, and we’ve been on a lot of other ones.<br /> The itinerary was perfect and they catered to our every desire.<br /> If we wanted to change plans mid trip they did their best to accommodate<br /> us in every detail. We didn’t miss a thing!!! Plenty of play toys for the adults and children.<br /> Snorkel gear was supplied for all, along with water boards and rafts and other toys.<br /> <br /> I know everyone who has a good captain thinks<br /> theirs is the best. I KNOW the captain on my boat<br /> is the number one captain for a charter. In his<br /> command we always felt safe and secure in his<br /> knowledge and handling of our sailboat. Always he<br /> greeted us with his warm smile and pleasant<br /> disposition. He never seemed rushed or bothered<br /> by all the needs of our family group of twenty. At<br /> the end of the charter we felt like we were leaving<br /> a dear friend. I cannot give him enough accolades!<br /> He was easy to talk to, always trying to serve his<br /> guests and accommodate them with any desire of<br /> their hearts. Rob and his wife/chef Belinda are<br /> such a pleasant couple. They truly compliment<br /> each other and work well together. We were<br /> beyond blessed to have them as our crew. They<br /> made our trip enjoyable and pleasing. Rob never<br /> got upset with our active, over the top family. He<br /> continued to smile throughout our exploits. He<br /> was helpful and quick to meet our needs. I could<br /> go on and on about telling what a great captain he<br /> is. You will not be disappointed if you are fortunate<br /> enough to have him captain your sailboat!!! A Plus<br /> Plus!!!<br /> <br /> Now Belinda is amazing! She will not disappoint<br /> pleasing you with her delicious cuisine. Every<br /> one meal was a delight. She is an exceptional chef and<br /> her recipes will make you want to arrive at the<br /> table on time. She caters to your every desire and<br /> wants to please you. She is most pleasant and has<br /> a warm personality. My only complaint is the four<br /> pounds she put on me during our week stay. You<br /> will love Belinda and she will leave you with<br /> wonderful memories of the scrumptious food she<br /> serves. A true delight in every way!!!<br /> <br /> The boat was very clean and well maintained. It<br /> was very comfortable and spacious with lots of<br /> places to get away!<br /> <br /> What more can I say!!! Food was first rate and<br /> drinks were readily available. Not only did he work tirelessly to keep the yacht in perfect shape but he was also a great guide during the trip. He catered our itinerary around the needs of our entire group. They cruised the East Coast of Africa, Indian Ocean, SE Asia, Indonesia, and Australia. <br /> <br /> Rob has a passion for the ocean and loves water sports.
