The Sea Ray 480 is a throwback to the era of flush deck motor yachts that dominated the market during the 1970’s and early 1980’s (Flush deck yachts are distinguished by having the primary helm and aft deck on the same level.) Practical in design and more sociable than flybridge yachts, the 480 allows owner and guests to enjoy the ride together in the comfort and security of the protected aft deck. Belowdecks, the comfortable interior of the Sea Ray 480 is roomy and luxurious. A long, U-shaped Ultraleather lounge dominates the salon with its recessed lighting, elliptical windows, and built-in entertainment center. Both the galley and dinette are open to the salon, and there are two staterooms forward, one with a double berth and the other, stretching beneath the salon sole, with twins. Note that a washer/dryer combo is fitted in a utility space under the galley stairs. Wing doors, a stylish and functional hardtop, and an aft deck wet bar are standard. The Engine room, accessed via a hatch in the salon sole opens up to the preferred twin Cummins diesels. (PowerBoat Guide)

The current owners are the third owner - the boat has been at the current slip for over 14 years with the previous owner and the current owners. They have maintained the vessel and have maintenance log and service records for most major items. Known conditions - one of the six bilge pumps needs replacing. The fuel pump on the Starboard engine needs to be removed and the timing reset and reinstalled - sellers are working to find a mechanic to do this work for them without removing all of the wood flooring for easier access. The local representative took the photos and video of the vessel and they accurately reflect the current condition of the vessel and its primary features. Stock #374401 Excellent 460 Sundancer! The compass, autopilot, radar with open array radar with built-in chart, air and water temperature gauges, depth gauge, and GPS interface are original features on this boat that are all still in good working condition, and make driving this boat a breeze. The windshield keeps the wind out of your face on a windy day but has the ability to open it to let in the breeze when you want it. Your passengers will sit comfortably on the U-shaped, cushioned seating with table with built-in cupholders located at the stern of the boat. The flat screen, mounted TV opposite the captain's area is perfect for watching the big game out on the water - it is on an extendable bracket that allows multiple viewing angles. The storage compartments, built-in cupholders, cockpit sink, and cockpit icemaker, plus the cockpit HVAC unit and full isinglass / camper enclosures so you can enjoy AC in this space with the enclosure installed or heat in the winter months. These features make this boat one you will want to check out! When you enter the cabin area below, to your left is the galley with coffee maker, microwave and 3 burner stove top. The refrigerator and freezer is great for grabbing a drink on the go or entertaining. The kitchen sink has a cover that matches the solid surfaced countertop - giving you more space for prepping food. There is plenty of storage space in the kitchen - cabinet space above and below the countertop and above the refrigerator. Opposite the galley is the salon area with leather, reclining chair and an electrically operated sofa / slide-out bed. The sofa and recliner are situated around a coffee table with two pull out chairs, giving you plenty of seating options. Enjoy the large, mounted flat screen TV as you recline on the comfortable seating. The hanging mirror makes the space feel large. Stereo with CD and speakers / amplifier are a nice feature. Plenty of storage space in the cabinets above the sofa / slide out bed. Continuing on in the cabin, the forward stateroom is perfect for privacy and comfort. The sliding pocket privacy door has a full length mirror. The bed has a full sized mattress and storage below. This room has lots of storage space - cedar lined hanging lockers with lights and mirrored doors and shelving. The mounted TV with DVD and stereo is perfect for enjoying movies in bed on your next vacation. The vanity with storage stool is also a nice feature that makes this room feel like your home away from home. The skylight above and port-holes draw in natural light and make the space feel large. The forward head compartment includes a medicine cabinet with storage, shower with seat and circular door, and toilet. The privacy doors give you access to both the salon and forward stateroom. The aft stateroom also has a sliding pocket privacy door and features a leather jack-knife sofa that can be converted into another sleeping area. The mounted TV in this room is a nice feature - giving the whole family plenty of space to watch their own shows. Plenty of storage in this room as well with cabinets and drawers. The aft-stateroom also has a head with a privacy door. The bathroom includes a "wet-head" shower with curtain, medicine cabinet with storage inside, sink with pull-out shower sprayer and of course the toilet. Plenty of storage space in the bathroom as well. When you're ready to swim, the extended swim platform makes for a quick entry into the water and makes getting back in the boat easy! It is a hydraulic lift and has slots for PWC skids - so you can literally lower the entire unit into the water and drive your PWC right onto the skids and raise it out of the water at the touch of the button on the remote. The exterior shower is perfect for washing off after a swim. At the bow of the boat is a large sunpad that for soaking in the sun on a hot day! Get a break from the sun on a hot day with the full enclosure. The enclosure/isinglass has sections that roll up in the front and in the back. This boat is powered by twin T-VD-Cummins 480CE Diesel engines and V-drives with 446 horsepower that will power this boat and get you to your favorite cove or beach area quickly. This boat has been fitted with many upgraded features like the cockpit A/C and heating, bow thruster, DSS satellite TV system, wood flooring in the galley & cockpit areas, recessed sun pad and swim platform with hydraulic lift, and more! For entertaining, the large aft deck has a wetbar with an icemaker, as well as a Clarion AM/FM CD with six-disc changer, four speakers, and a remote control. A fiberglass hardtop protects passengers from the elements, and textured steps lead to the swim platform with concealed stainless steel three-step ladder. The walkways leading to the foredeck are wide and textured for safe passage, and a cushion turns the area into a large sunpad. Down below, a full-size bed with innerspring mattress is the focal point of the forward stateroom. Ford takes second in US EV market after sales climb 86% as lower prices take effect

Ford is starting 2024 off strong with EV sales up 86% through the first three months. The growth was enough for Ford to place second in the US EV market behind only Tesla. Ford’s sales surge comes after slashing prices earlier this year.

Ford announced that electric vehicle sales increased 86%, with 20,223 EVs sold through the first quarter of 2024.

The F-150 Lightning remained America’s best-selling electric pickup, with 7,743 units handed over, topping Rivian’s R1T. Meanwhile, Mustang Mach-E sales surged 77% YOY with 9,589 electric SUVs handed over. The Mach-E was the second best-selling electric SUV behind Tesla’s Model Y .

Ford’s E-Transit was the top-selling electric van, with 2,891 models sold, up 148% over Q1 2023. This was the E-Transit’s best sales quarter since launching in 2022.

Commercial customers are gravitating toward all-electric options, with Ford Pro EV adoption rising by over 40%. Ford said many orders for the new 2024 F-150 Lightning are repeat customers. The E-Transit is seeing higher demand as government and small business adoption rates climb.

Ford’s EV sales surge in the first quarter comes after the company drastically reduced prices earlier this year.

The American automaker slashed Mach-E prices by up to $8,100 in February while offering significant incentives on the F-150 Lightning.

A recent report from data analytics firm Cloud Theory highlighted the impact of lower prices on Mach-E movement.

According to the report, the Ford Mach-E movement was “dramatic and immediate,” as weekly movement surged from around 300 to over 1,000. It even reached over 1,800 in early March.

The uptick in sales was enough for Ford to top rival GM for second in the US EV market. GM sold 16,425 EVs , down over 20% YOY, as the automaker prepares to ramp up production of Ultium-based models like the Chevy Blazer EV, Equinox EV, and Cadillac Lyriq.

Electrek’s Take

Despite EV sales climbing, Ford is pulling back on several EV initiatives. The company cut the workforce at its Rouge EV plant by one-third this month, citing slower-than-expected demand.

Ford is also delaying around $12 billion in EV investments. The move comes as overseas rivals like Hyundai, Kia, Volvo, and others continue gaining market share in the US.

Hyundai had its best first quarter ever after EV sales surged 100% in March. The IONIQ 5 set a new sales record with 6,822 units sold in Q1.

Kia’s first three-row electric SUV, the EV9, is off to a strong start in the US, with sales climbing 151% in March. Through March, Kia has sold 4,007 EV9s.

Despite plans to shut down its factory in Normal, IL, EV startup Rivian, topped expectations with 13,588 vehicles delivered in Q1.

Meanwhile, Tesla held its lead by a wide margin. Despite missing estimates , Tesla still delivered 386,810 EVs in the first three months of the year, enough to top BYD to take back the best-selling EV maker title.

As Ford pulls back, rivals are plowing ahead. Meanwhile, Ford is developing an affordable EV platform to compete with Tesla and low-cost automakers like BYD from China.

The first vehicles based on the platform are expected to be a smaller electric pickup and SUV with starting prices around $25,000.
