Our top of the line 6 Person Power Catamaran offers a unique and personal experience of Na Pali Coast. Instead of listening to narrations over a microphone, knowledge is passed conversationally, and instead of being a face in the crowd, this tour feels more like hanging out on a boat with friends. Like our other boats, our 6 Person Power Catamaran is able to fit into all of the various sea caves along Na Pali Coast (conditions permitting), with the added benefit of even less passengers. Great as a shared tour and even better as a private, choose small and do it all!

We offer 2 different departure times per day that vary in difference only in regards to conditions. In general, morning tours have calmer water with a higher chance of seeing dolphins, and our afternoon tours offer better coastal lighting, and greater odds of seeing turtles. Winds generally kick up around mid-day, so all guests should be prepared for a splashy exciting adventure!

• Like our raft, this is still a small boat and can be very adventurous at times. All participants should be in good health without any head, back, or neck injuries. Pregnant women are also not allowed on this potentially turbulent excursion. Recent surgeries should at the very least be mentioned before booking.
• Reservations well in advance are highly recommended. With only 6 passengers per tour, our 6 Passenger Catamarans have virtually sold out for decades.
• If no seats are available, please consider our other 2 vessel choices below for a very similar experience. Experience the nā pali coast on a boat tour.

Witness the incredible beauty of Kauai on the Nā Pali Coast. The nai’a 🐬 (dolphins and porpoises) cruise along the catamaran, so have your camera ready for amazing pictures! Captain Lani and the crew share Hawaiian culture and history along the way.

As we travel up north towards Nā Pali, you see the island of Niihau in the distance, approximately 17 miles away. It appears just a stone’s throw away.

Get up close and personal with majestic cliffs, sea caves, and a cascading waterfall. Then, we stop at a pristine, protected reef, Nu’alolo Kai, to swim and snorkel. At one time, it was an active, productive Hawaiian fishing village. You may see the honu 🐢 (sea turtles) swimming in their own environment.

Snorkel gear and instructions are provided. Foam noodles are also available.

A deli-style lunch is available ; build your own sandwich of turkey, ham, two types of cheeses, two types of bread, lettuce, and tomatoes. For dessert, there is fresh pineapple and vanilla cinnamon cake. Sodas and juices are also available.

• Make sure to bring a water bottle or a Hydro Flax with water! Only metal water bottles allowed to promote environmentalism and protect the oceans.
• Wear comfortable clothing — swimwear, cover-up, shorts, and a t-shirt. Protect yourself from the sun. Wear a long sleeve t-shirt and a hat or visor.
• Bring a bag or backpack with a towel and a camera.
• Wear comfortable footwear, slippers, or sandals. You will be barefoot on board. If you need to wear footwear, wear your own aqua shoes. However, do not walk down with the aqua shoes as they will gather the red dirt. Red dirt and seawater make for red paste — not good for Catamaran Kahanu.

Your safety is our priority. Captain Lani and the crew are experienced watermen — we guarantee your comfort, enjoyment, and satisfaction. During winter months, ocean conditions can be rough in the Nā Pali Coast. If needed, Captain Lani will go to calmer waters.

The Morning Na Pali Tour starts with check-in at 6:30- 7:00 a.m. It may be a little cooler than our afternoon tour, so bring a windbreaker just in case. This Na Pali Coast snorkel tour will showcase the beauty of Kauai, as well as its Hawaiian marine life. 

We depart Hanalei Bay around 7:30 a.m. and return approximately 4 hours later at around 11:30 a.m. Snorkel equipment and floatation devices are provided, as well as a waterproof dry-bag.

Please note that we do not guarantee snorkeling or entrance into sea caves. Our goal is always to provide the best tour possible, given the day’s weather and ocean conditions. Safety is priority #1 always.

During our “off-season,” we are pleased to offer a modified tour experience that promises an unforgettable adventure! While our winter tours will be 3 hours long, as opposed to our standard 4-hour tours during peak season, the focus will be on captivating sightseeing and wildlife viewing along the Na Pali Coast. Please note that lunch is not provided, as we aim to reduce waste in the event of a tour cancellation. Snorkeling and sea cave exploration are less likely during the winter months, but our captains will always monitor the conditions and may have opportunities to incorporate these activities if the weather permits. Your safety is our priority, and you can rest assured that our tours will be conducted in the safest and most responsible manner possible. Our seasoned captains and crew members are committed to ensuring your well-being at all times, and we will not hesitate to cancel any tour if the conditions are deemed unsuitable. Our Na Pali Coast sunset tour is the premier "dinner with a view" experience. You can see the whole coast of Kauai from Haena to Milolii, even the "forbidden" island of Niihau far away. Each day is unique, as the light reacts with the clouds and landscapes. Rainbows frequently add color to distant mountains, and our sunsets at sea are spectacular.

The Na Pali sunset cruise will start with a short briefing and introduction as you depart from Port Allen. You will first head west and then turn to the north to reach the Na Pali Coast.

Meanwhile, our onboard chef will begin preparing a fresh and delicious meal. Our Kauai sunset dinner cruise stands out from other tours because our Star catamarans feature a full galley (kitchen). This means that your meal will be freshly prepared onboard.

Most days, the trade winds in Hawaii blow from the east. These winds create ideal conditions for sailing downwind along Na Pali Coast during the dinner cruise in Kauai.

For an optimal Na Pali coast sunset cruise , the crew aims to position the boat for a stable downwind sail. After we turn around, the crew will stop the boat's engines, raise the main sail, and open the jib. You can then relax and have a tasty meal prepared by the chef at sunset, along with your favorite drinks.

We time our Na Pali sunset tour to return to Port Allen at dusk.

Your captain will continually monitor the weather and will be receiving reports about local ocean conditions right up to your departure time. We will notify you approximately 90 minutes prior to departure via a text to the number you provided at booking to advise you of any destination changes the weather and/or ocean conditions may make necessary.
