Also, was ist das denn jetzt?

Was dabei herauskam, erfährst du in diesem Artikel.

Schottland ghost 119 | lifecycle magazine

  • Shimano GRX Gruppe
  • 12-mm-Steckachsen

Ready for Adventure? Mein Ghost Road Rage Reisesetup

Schottland ghost 70 | lifecycle magazine

Schottland ghost 165 | lifecycle magazine

Ghost Road Rage Advanced: Fazit

Ghost Asket Advanced EQ Affordable Gravel Bike, Equipped with Acepac Bikepacking Bags

Ghost's latest update to their affordable alloy gravel bikes includes the new Asket Advanced EQ, a fully EQ-quipped option with a complete set of bikepacking bags so you are ready for adventure the moment you leave the bike shop.

An evolution of their more road-oriented Road Rage gravel bike, the new Asket is more of an adventure bike with bigger tire clearance, slacker geometry, and more comfort. But it still comes in a full gamut of different build options – whether you are looking for a flat bar urban commuter, an off-road adventure bikepacking rig, or some fast gravel racer in between…

Ghost Asket Advanced EQ fully-equipped adventure gravel bike

The Asket name isn’t new to Ghost , and its mountain bike hardtail origins hint more at its current leanings in this latest evolution. Originally adapted as a more fun version on their Lector cross-country race hardtail , this new gravel Asket gets a hint of the Lector with its thin, curved seatstays for comfort, plus geometry that’s something of a happy medium between that XC bike and the Road Rage.

Ghost Asket Advanced EQ affordable alloy adventure gravel bike, riding

Now, Ghost calls the Asket a “road bike with off-road benefits”.

Tech details

Ghost Asket Advanced EQ affordable alloy adventure gravel bike, loaded

The new Asket AL family all mostly share the same hydroformed aluminum frame and full carbon tapered steerer fork. The only difference it seems is that 1x Advanced models omit the welded-on front derailleur tab of the other models.

Ghost Asket AL affordable aluminum gravel bike, 2x frames

Ghost specs most of the Asket family with 40mm rubber, but official tire clearance is up to 700x50mm / 29×2.0″, or 27.5×2.2″.

Ghost Asket AL affordable aluminum gravel bike, frameset

The frameset has plenty of adventure-ready mounting points with 2 regular sets of bottle cage bosses inside the main triangle, plus a 3-pack of Anything cage mounts under the toptube, a cage mount under the downtube, a set of toptube bag mounts, Anything cages mounts on each fork leg, and tabs for full coverage fenders front & rear.

Ghost Asket AL affordable aluminum gravel bike, angled

The bike features conventional modular internal cable routing in the front triangle, flat mount disc brakes, 12mm thru-axles, and a 27.2mm seatpost with stealth dropper routing.

2023 Ghost Asket AL affordable alloy gravel bike, geometry

Geometry-wise, the Asket combines a longer fork, longer wheelbase, and overall slacker head tube than the Road Rage for more stable handling off-road. Chainstays are just 5mm longer than Ghost’s road-focused gravel bike, but frame Reach is 25mm longer for the same size bike, with a 35mm higher Stack for a more upright position on the bike, too. Overall, the new Asket is still quick for gravel with a 70° headtube and a steep 73.7° seattube that should help keep weight forward on the bike for solid handling on & off-road.

Ghost Asket Advanced EQ spec & pricing

Ghost Asket Advanced EQ affordable alloy adventure gravel bike,

2023 Ghost Asket Advanced EQ affordable alloy adventure gravel bike, with AcePac bags

Ghost Asket – Other options, pricing & availability

2023 Ghost Asket gravel bike

2023 Ghost Asket EQ equipped commuter gravel bike

It’s nice to see a company say their bike is suitable for commuting or bikepacking, and then actually offer it with all the gear you really need to do that. That’s not to mention that getting a full set of premium bikepacking bags or a full commuting setup for 200€ is a pretty decent value, too.

2023 Ghost Asket Advanced EQ affordable alloy adventure gravel bike, riding

Product description

Ghost road rage advanced al light blue grey/riot red glossy (light blue grey/riot red glossy).

This product’s description has been automatically translated. Please excuse any mistakes.

Due to bottlenecks and delays in worldwide supply chains, the manufacturer may have replaced individual components from the original specification with equivalent or even higher quality components. Therefore, the bicycle delivered may deviate from the images in certain cases.

The ROAD RAGE Base is your expedition vehicle on two wheels! With smart detail solutions that let you act independently on long tours in uncharted terrain, unconventional tyres for maximum comfort on unpaved roads and cleverly placed storage facilities for saddlebags and the like, this bike is ready for almost anything. And anyone who sits in the saddle for a long time will particularly appreciate comfort. What are you waiting for? Let's go, nose to the adventure wind!

Lowering for more freedom The frames are ready for lowerable seat posts: The cable routing can be routed cleanly and well protected on the inside. For all those who are already thinking about tomorrow today.

More control on the trails A standard that is a must for higher-quality bikes. The thru axle allows for an even stiffer rear triangle and leads to better power transmission and distribution.

Refreshing storage space pre-programmed There's plenty of room for refreshments on the road. On bikes with this symbol, you can easily fit a drinks bottle in the frame triangle.

Best braking power, best dosing Whether in the city or off-road: the hydraulic disc brakes grip reliably and quickly even in wet conditions, are easy to dose and are not susceptible to dirt or loss of performance.

Staying clean If you want to keep mud and water splashes at bay, you can easily retrofit the frame with mudguards.

Clean with great protection Internally routed cables and lines are better protected against external influences and ensure a clean look on the bike.

Ghost gravel bike models: Road Rage and Asket

You love long distances at high speed on the road , but also enjoy the rough ups and downs of forest trails ? Then a gravel bike is just the thing for you.  Why choose one when you can ride both types of terrain with Ghost gravel bikes for men and women. Our models with luggage racks also give you the option for bike-packing tours.

Gravel bikes – where asphalt and mountains come together

Is the ultimate riding experience for you when you can pedal long distances while maintaining continuously high speeds? When you use your bike for commuting, bike-packing as well as for training sessions? What counts for you is distance and pace so you can live up to your passion as a racer?

And the special thing about your riding style is that you like being able to take the odd diversion down gravel roads or through the woods? Just riding on asphalt is not always enough for you because you still have an urge for adventure? So, your favourite types of rides are:

- straight, paved roads

- long forest and gravel paths

- sections that take you over cobblestones.

That's why we have developed the perfect hybrid between a road bike and a mountain bike: GHOST gravel bikes.

Is that where you see yourself? Well, if you want to buy a gravel bike online, you should know the other things that make these all-purpose bikes so special.

1. Gravel bike handlebars: a road bike look

If you are a cyclist who is familiar with road biking, then the road-inspired handlebars will surely catch your eye immediately. The tops and drops allow you to adjust your arm and seat position over longer distances,

and since you like to ride your gravel bike in hilly terrain as well, the shifter/brake levers are ideally placed for efficiency and comfort on our GHOST models. The cockpit allows you to easily regulate the amount of power you use when riding uphill and downhill and in constantly changing terrain.

2. Frame geometry – racing and climbing combined

Since gravel bikes are a bit of a cross between road bikes and mountain bikes, the frame geometry needs to be slightly more sophisticated:

- the contact points (handlebars, saddle and pedals) are ergonomically positioned in relation to each other. - the riding position is slightly more inclined than a mountain bike but slightly more upright than a road bike.

- our unisex gravel bikes are suitable for both men and women and for most body types.

- the frames do not have suspension, which ensures maximum stability and the most effective acceleration.

- the thru axle helps increase rigidity in the rear triangle, which in turn translates to better power transfer.

Frame materials are also decisive for our GHOST gravel bikes. The gravel category features either aluminium (AL) or lightweight carbon-fibre (LC).

If you’re planning bike-packing trips, your bike needs mounting points where you can easily attach racks and mudguards. The clever frame geometry and overall stability means these bikes can withstand quite a bit of weight. There are loads of mounting points on gravel bike frames – in addition to the rear rack – where you can mount all kinds of equipment.

3. Gravel tyres – influenced by mountain biking

Why choose just mountain or road touring when you can have both with a gravel bike from GHOST. Our all-purpose wheels are equipped with relatively wide 700x37C tyres. This makes them suitable for both paved stretches or more ruthless terrain. Gravel bikes come with 28- and 29-inch wheel sizes. They both allow you to easily roll over challenging rocks, roots and ruts.

4. The brakes – always reliable, on the mountain or the road

It is vital that you can stop your bike quickly and safely, especially at high speeds. Since you ride your bike not only in diverse types of terrain, but also in all types of weather all year round, your brakes must be reliable even when it’s wet out. Hydraulic disc brakes give you just that reliability.
