GTA Online: Find the Los Santos Slasher and Navy Revolver

GTA Online ‘s latest content update, The Diamond Casino Heist , gives you the opportunity to catch the infamous Los Santos Slasher. In the process, you can also pick up a brand new Navy Revolver, as well as some money along the way.

To catch the Los Santos Slasher in GTA Online , you must locate five clues. These clues will lead you to the Slasher’s location. You will find exact map locations below. 

Clue #1 Location

Travel to Grand Senora Desert and go  northwest of the Sandy Shores Airfield . You will see a severed hand between a tire and some trash bags.

Clue #2 Location

Go to Great Chaparral and locate Cherry Pie Farm . Look for an inscription on the wall that says: “Can you find me?” That’s the second clue.

Clue #3 Location

Travel to Grapeseed and locate a wooden barn  (indicated on the map above). Check the barn’s walls for a bloody machete sticking through one of the logs.

Clue #4 Location

Go to Paleto Forest and find the Bayview Lodge located on Procopio Promenade. Find a door smeared with a bloody handprint for clue #3.

Clue #5 Location

The last clue is an abandoned minivan , which can be randomly seen in one of the five possible locations indicated above. 

Kill The Slasher

Once you found all of the clues, the Los Santos Slasher will send you a message on your phone. Expect him in Blaine County at night, between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.  Kill him, and you will be rewarded with the Navy Revolver and $50,000.

If you get 50 kills with the Navy Revolver, you will earn another $200,000 and also unlock Lowry’s Revolver in Red Dead Online .

How to find GTA Online Slashers including the Clone Slasher

Where to find the Clown, Driver, Psycho, Slasher, and Clone in GTA Online

The GTA Online Slashers have returned to Los Santos and Blaine County, ready to strike fear into the hearts of anyone caught outside after dark. If you're travelling around at night then you need to stay vigilant, because one of these freaks could be hiding in the shadows ready to pounce when you least expect it. This GTA Online Halloween event also sees the return of the Clone Slasher, which can randomly appear at any location and sees you going up against a sinister blood-stained doppelganger that only moves when you do.

The four main creeps are all based on different horror movie antagonists, so if you have a particular fear of Pennywise the Clown or Jason Voorhees then you might want to stay away from GTA Online for the next few weeks. Although finding these NPCs is a somewhat random encounter, and it's down to chance whether you meet one of them or your personal clone, you do need to be in the right place at the right time for them to spawn. With that in mind, here is all the information you need about the GTA Online Slashers locations for your best chance of a Halloween showdown.

Where are the GTA Online Slashers?

In total there are four different GTA Online Slashers – the Clown, the Driver, the Psycho, and the Slasher – and each of them can spawn within the areas marked on the map above, with the random possibility of them being replaced by the Clone Slasher instead. However, in order for any of them to appear you need to meet all of the requirements to set the scene correctly, which are:

• You must be in Free Roam mode and not inside a building.
• You need to be in the session for at least 16 minutes, i.e. 8 in-game hours.
• You can be on foot or in a standard vehicle, but no weaponized vehicles, helicopters etc.
• The in-game time must be between 9pm and 5am.
• You must be in one of the spawn areas marked on the map above.

Once you reach the required in-game time, start traveling (ideally driving) around the spawn area for whichever of the GTA Online Slashers you're looking for, and listen out for an ominous sting sound accompanied by a flash of your minimap and a red dot appearing on it. This indicates where your foe is, and although they'll initially be standing still they'll start to pursue you once you get close to them – unless the Clone Slasher spawns instead, in which case they'll only move when you move to add an even bigger creepy factor, though they'll still attack once they get within range.

You'll need to brace yourself for a decent fight when you engage one of the GTA Online Slashers, as they not only have a huge amount of health but they're also relentless in their pursuit once you are designated as their target. These monsters are actual bullet sponges and setting them on fire does little to slow them down – it took me four direct RPG hits to finally stop the Psycho when I faced off with them. Once defeated, the GTA Online Slashers usually drop a melee weapon, and although players previously received the rare Twilight Knife T-shirt for eliminating one of these menaces, Rockstar haven't mentioned any rewards this time around.

Grand Theft Auto 5 contains a new event within the Casino Heist update. Here's a guide on how to find the Los Santos Slasher. Grand Theft Auto 5 is consistently receiving updates for its online game world. What began with a few races and team deathmatch game modes has evolved into a massive online community that pulls in thousands of players every month. For its most recent, large scale update. The new Diamond Casino was added into the city of Los Santos. Here, players can go with friends and participate in playing games like blackjack, poker, and a virtual racing simulator. For high rollers, players can also buyout a massive penthouse suite right at the casino. Along with this update came an unusual addition. For players who want to go beyond just the casino, they can be a part of a murder mystery in Los Santos with the Los Santos Slasher quest. This guide will help players locate all of the clues hidden around the city.

The Los Santos Slasher quest is a part of December 2019's Casino Heist. Several new characters were added in this edition including the Cheng Family, who will assist the player is stealing from the casino itself. The Los Santos Slasher has been causing mischief around Blaine County in San Andreas. To spawn the Slasher, players must locate five hidden clues around the map. Each clue will provide context around the character and his previous murders. After collecting every clue, the Slasher will appear to the player, allowing players to defeat him. Collecting each clue individually will reward the player with $5000 in GTA money and 2,000 RP, leaving a grand total of $25,000 GTA money and 10,000 RP for this quest. Here are the five locations of the clues hidden around Los Santos.

Where To Find The Clues in The Los Santos Slasher Quest in Grand Theft Auto 5

All of the clues can be located at the Blaine County location on the map. The first clue is located at the Cherry Pie Farm in Great Chapparal. Outdoors, under a small lamp, players will find written on a brick wall "Can You Find Me?". The best time to search for this clue would be during the day, as the map illuminates the text on the wall, making it easier to find. Observe the brick wall in the first-person mode to trigger the "Clues Investigated" toggle. This is the first clue of the quest.

Players can find the second clue located near the Sandy Shores Airfield. Head northwest of the Sandy Shores Airfield to a small group of filled white and black garbage bags near a rusted fence. Inbetween a black garbage bag and a tire, players will locate a severed hand on the ground, covered in blood. Observe the hand in the first person to make it count towards the clue counter. This is the second clue of the quest.

As for the third clue, players must head to Grapeseed. Once at Grapeseed, search for a wooden barn surrounding several white tents. Players must walk to the east of the Binco Clothing to find the barn. On the exterior of the barn, players will find a machete attached to the wall. Examine it in the first person to collect the clue.

The fourth clue can be found at the Bayview Lodge in Paleto Forest. Located next to the road closest to the shoreline. Once at the Bayview Lodge, go behind it to find a small white shed. On the door of the shed will be a bloody handprint. Examine it in the first person to collect the fourth clue.

The fifth and final clue is more complicated than the previous, as this clue has the potential to spawn in five different locations. It's completely random based on each player. As for what the clue is, the final clue is a black speedo van with its back doors open. Inside the van, players can find blood, several machetes, and black bags covering the interior. The first potential spawn would be near Fort Zancudo. It will be near the river, hidden within the bushes. The second is in the Mount Gordo area. The van will potentially spawn on the side of the train tracks on wooden planks. The third spawn is the Palmer-Taylor Power Station. It will be behind a red horizontal tank and a large white one. The fourth spawn is near the San Chianski Mountain Range. Players can find it under the highway right next to the train tracks. The final spawn location is by the river at the Raton Canyon. Players can find the van between some trees.

After finding the van at one of these locations, the player will receive a threatening text message from the Slasher marked as "Unknown". To find the killer, he will come after the player in the Blaine County area only at night between 7 P.M and 5 A.M. The Slasher will sneak up on the player, so always be aware of the surroundings and avoid being in a closed-off area to prevent any potential damages. Head to the Sandy Shores Airfield, as this is a wide-open area and wait. Be aware of the surroundings and eventually, the Slasher will appear on the map. Takedown the Slasher to be rewarded the Navy Revolver gun. If players can get 50 headshot kills with the Navy Revolver gun, they will be rewarded with $200,000 GTA money and an exclusive weapon for Red Dead Online.

The weapon can be found in Red Dead Redemption 2 online. The interconnectedness between Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2  has boosted replayability between both titles, as little secrets can be found that can be sent to the other within the game. The Grand Theft Auto series has always thrived itself in out-of-this-world side quest experiences. In the very same game, Grand Theft Auto 5,  players can find a UFO above Sandy Shores after completing the game 100%. Small tidbits like this show that the developers are having fun with their in-game engine and continue to surprise its players with these strange gameplay experiences. The Los Santos Slasher quest is another example of Rockstar doing whatever they want with their franchises, and players wouldn't have it any other way.

How to Get the Navy Revolver, All Clues Locations on the Map

With the release of the Diamond Casino Heist update, the Los Santos Slasher appears in the game. He kills his victims with an old Navy Revolver that you can take from him. To find the Slasher, you need to investigate five clues.

Unlike the Treasure Hunt and Bounty Hunting quests, you don’t need to wait for text messages or emails. You can start investigating the clues at any time when you are in Freemode in GTA Online.

The first four clues have fixed locations, they can be investigated in any order. To investigate a clue, come close to it and press “Right” on the D-Pad or “E” on the keyboard by default.

The fifth clue will be in one of five possible locations:

When you find all the clues, you will receive a text message with threats from an unknown sender. Head to Blaine County and await meeting with the Slasher between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

It’s better to wait for him in the open, for example, on the airstrip in Sandy Shores. Walk there for a while, and the Slasher will attack you. His appearance is similar to the appearance of the pervert in the Abandoned Vehicle 1 random event.

If you die, the quest will not fail. The Slasher will try to attack you again.

As soon as you kill the Slasher, the naval revolver will immediately appear in your hands, and you will also receive GTA$50,000.

Navy Revolver Challenge

When you acquire the weapon, you can participate in a special challenge. Get 50 kills (other players or any NPCs) with the Navy Revolver to receive a reward of GTA$200,000 and unlock an exclusive weapon in Red Dead Online.

• Despite the Los Santos Slasher’s name, you will find most of the clues and the Slasher himself in Blaine County.

GTA Online Guide: Where to Find the Los Santos Slasher

With the release of the new Moonshine update in Red Dead Online , GTAO has received a fun little crossover event that can be completed to unlock a weapon in Red Dead Online . This crossover event involves a serial killer that is running rampant in Los Santos. To help you complete this event use our where to find the Los Santos Slasher in GTAO guide below.

Los Santos Slasher Clue Locations

To complete this crossover event you need to find a total of five clues spread out around Los Santos. These clues lead you to a final showdown with the serial killer. The five clue locations are shown above in the video by YouTuber GTA Series Video . If you want to read a text description of each clue:

• “Can You Find Me?” writing on wall in Great Chaparral.
• Severed hand near runway in Great Senora Desert.
• Machete stuck in barn in Grapseed.
• Bloody Handprint on door of Bayview Lodge in Paleto Bay.

When you are near any of the clues listed above you will feel a rumble in your controller. Upon inspecting a clue you will get XP and $5,000.

Murder Van Possible Spawns Map

Once you’ve collected the four mentioned clues above (all in fixed locations), you need to find the fifth and final clue which is the murder van. The murder van can spawn in five possible locations (shown in the map and video above).

How to Get the Navy Revolver?

Upon interacting with the fifth clue, the murder van, you will receive a menacing text message that tells you you’ll be sorry for putting your nose into this. After you get this text message wait for the next night and a Slasher will randomly spawn into your game and will attack you (there’s a message that pops up when this happens). Defeat the Slasher to receive the Navy Revolver, XP, and $50000.

Kill 50 People with the Navy Revolver

Once you have the Navy Revolver in your possession you will trigger the final portion of the mission which is to kill 50 people using the Navy Revovler. This step is fairly self explanotory and can be completed using any method you desire. Once you’ve defeated 50 people you will receive $20000 and will unlock the Navy Revolver in Red Dead Online .

GTA Online: How to complete Superyacht Life Missions

Step into the world of luxury and conquer the seas with the Superyacht Life missions in Grand Theft Auto Online . In this high-stakes quest, you are assigned to go against a rival gang’s attempts to disrupt the balance through a series of less-than-legal activities.

From extraction of cargo to killing a few folks, a total of six adrenaline-pumping missions are part of this quest which can be played with up to four players. And with the Weekly GTA Online update, there’s an added incentive—you can now earn a lucrative bonus of $100,000 per mission until May 15, making the rewards as enticing as the thrill of the chase itself.

How to access the Superyacht Life missions in GTA Online

As the name suggests, to play these missions, you must first reach millionaire status by purchasing the Galaxy Superyacht . Once the luxurious boat has been purchased, meet with the captain at the yacht’s bridge to begin the available mission. 

Alternatively, you can call the captain directly and request a job to initiate the quest. Both of these options are available as long as you haven’t completed the whole quest line before.

All Superyacht Life missions in GTA Online

Mission 1: overboard.

The first mission involves a group of thugs stealing the yacht’s jet skis and documents specifying that said yacht is a permanent resident of international waters.

Get on a jet ski and begin tracking down the thugs docked near the Vespucci Canals. Eliminate them and retrieve the docs. While doing this, you will also have a high Wanted level and run to save your life.

After dealing with the enemies, the captain will call again, alerting you that the thugs are part of a rival yacht club. You need to head over there and sink a total of 10 boats.

The last objective is to get rid of your high Wanted level , then the mission is completed.

Mission 2: Salvage

After the success of the first mission, Captain Brendan sends you to collect salvage from the sunken cargo ship near the yacht. To start the mission, speak with the captain and head over to the southern section of the boat. Dive into the water and follow the tracker as it leads you to the cargo.

While underwater, a distress call from Captain Brendan will let you know that he has been kidnapped. Worse, the cargo has been collected from the ship has been stolen. A new objective will pop up, asking you to save the man.

Proceed to the designated location on the map and discreetly eliminate all enemies. If you are detected, the kidnappers will execute the captain. Rescue the captain and rescue the goods to complete the mission.

Mission 3: All Hands

After the events of the second mission, an unknown party starts to set the Pacific Country Club members’ cars on fire, and it’s up to you to stop it.  To extinguish the fire, the captain will direct you to steal an airplane called Tula .

Head over to the Los Santos International Airport and eliminate the 10 coast guards patrolling the entrance. Using stealth can make things easier because getting caught will net you a two-star Wanted level. Simply board the Tula after clearing the guards.

After boarding the airplane, you will see eight water gauges on their HUD that require filling. To do so, land the aircraft on the water and wait until all tanks are filled. Then, proceed to the Country Club’s garage to extinguish the fire. Upon arrival, Kkangpae (the man responsible) and his goons will open fire on the plane, adding another challenge for you to overcome.

Extinguish the fire to receive a call from the captain, who tells you about another garage where Kkangpae’s men have set six more cars on fire. Fly the plane over there and extinguish this fire as well. This time, there is no need to fight anyone: Simply return to the yacht with the Tula after saving the cars to mark the mission complete.

Mission 4: Icebreaker

Captain Brendan formulates a plan to take revenge on Kkangpae and his men. The captain directs you to infiltrate the rival gang’s warehouse near the Cyprus flats by destroying 10 AC units.

This is a straightforward mission where you must destroy all the AC units while surviving the attacks of Kkangpae’s goons. Next, the captain will direct you to steal Benson, a product ready to be sold by the gang, and then to sell it directly to the buyer yourself.

Mission 5: Bon Voyage

Bon Voyage is one of the most intense missions in the Superyacht life questline as it involves surviving three waves of Kkangpae’s men trying to hijack the Super Galaxy yacht in extremely unfavorable weather.

Due to the harsh weather, the yacht generators have malfunctioned, and the anti-aircraft systems have gone down with them. Using this as an advantage, enemies attack the yacht from sea and air alike. It’s up to you to stop them.

You will need heavy armor to withstand the three waves of enemy attacks. The yacht’s generators will reactivate after the first two, triggering the anti-aircraft system, which targets and destroys helicopters surrounding the yacht, making your life easier for the final showdown.

Mission 6: D-Day

Captain Brendan is fed up with Kkangpae and his gang, so he tasks you with eliminating the leader on his yacht. To avoid detection, he advises using a submarine to disarm the mines placed nearby.

Track the yacht and disarm any mines in the vicinity. Once the area is safe, board the ship and take care of Kkangpae and his crew. Expect the leader to flee via his helicopter onboard: Use the RPG to take it and finish GTA Online ‘s Superyacht Life quest in style.

The Slashers Event was one of the random events in Grand Theft Auto Online , first introduced during the Los Santos Tuners update during the Halloween 2021 event weeks. The event returned for the fourth week of the Halloween 2022 event with the addition of a new unique killer, the Clone Slasher.

Description [ ]

During the event, the player might encounter various Slashers: unique bloodthirsty NPCs seemingly coming out of nowhere that will attempt to murder them.

There are 5 Slashers, which can only be encountered from 9 PM and 5 AM [1] (adjusted to 1 AM and 6 AM for Halloween 2023), in specific areas [2] if the following conditions are met:

• The session must have been created at least 16 minutes prior.
• The player is either on foot or in a normal vehicle. Aircraft, boats, weaponized vehicles and special vehicles are not allowed.
• The player is inside the Slasher's spawn area.

If the conditions are met, a Slasher will appear near the target player with a unique sound effect [3] . Slashers are armed with various melee weapons and will relentlessly follow their target until they manage to kill it or until they die. Slashers have a massive health pool that allows them to even survive multiple explosions, and they are also immune to ragdolling.

The event ends when either the player or the Slasher dies. If the Slasher is unable to reach its target for too long (if the player is swimming for example), if another event is triggered or if the player leaves the area, the Slasher will simply despawn.

• When attacking the player, the Driver might ignite the player.
• The Clone Slasher will initially only move when the player is moving. It will become hostile once it gets close enough to its target or if it is attacked. This behaviour is also noted with other slasher types.
• Although only intended to spawn during the Halloween Week in 2022, some players still reported encountering slashers during The Heists Event (Week 1) in November.

Influence [ ]

• The Clown slasher is a reference to the Evil Clown cultural phenomenon and urban legends.
• The slasher's appearance in dark coveralls is based on Michael Myers from the Halloween franchise.
• Some elements of the slasher are derived from Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th franchise, with the sack mask similar to Jason's appearance in the second film , and the machete in his hand is a nod to Jason's signature weapon.
• The Clone Slasher is inspired by Us , a 2019 film about a family who are attacked by the menacing Doppelgängers . The design of the event's promotional image is similar to one of the posters for the aforesaid film.

The nightclub is so popular that it has its own official TV channel on Roku Connected TV and even had a newly discovered human gene named after it back in the late sixties.

20 Galileo Observatory

Players might have visited this location multiple times in Grand Theft Auto 5 and never knew it was an observatory. The observatory is not functional to players, although it is possible to peer through coin-operated telescopes that surround the structure. It's an excellent place to view the city of Los Santos.

The Galileo Observatory is based on the Griffith Observatory, a landmark in Los Angeles, California. It would have been a nice feature to be able to go inside the Galileo Observatory. Perhaps Grand Theft Auto 6 will open the doors to more of their landmarks.

One of the lesser-known Grand Theft Auto 5 locations that are based on a real-world place is the Rancho Towers . They are found in the southern area of Los Santos and are based on the Watt Towers in Los Angeles. The Rancho and Watt towers do not serve a purpose other than decoration.

The Watt Towers were designed by architect Sabato Rodia. According to discoverlosangeles.com, "In 1921, with help from his brother, Rodia bought an oddly shaped, triangular lot at 1765 E. 107th Street."

LONG WEEKEND WRAP: Boat crash kills 3, injures 5 on lake north of Kingston Back to video

OPP say the crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the Bucks Bay-area of the lake.

They say two women, ages 21 and 22, and a 23-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene, reported the Canadian Press.

Five others, between the ages of 21 and 44, were transported to a local hospital with a range of injuries.

Police say one boat was described as an open-bow, fishing-style boat and the other as a speed boat.

OPP spokesman Bill Dickson says an investigation is underway but did not provide further details.

MAN SHOT IN SCARBOROUGH

A man is in hospital after a Saturday night shooting in Scarborough.

The shooting happened at 2:50 a.m. on Cotton Ave. in the Danforth Rd.-Kennedy Rd. area.

Toronto Police say there was a dispute outside the house.

COPS HUNTING MALE SUSPECT AFTER AJAX SHOOTING

A man is wanted by police after a daylight shooting in Ajax.

Durham Regional Police said officers responded to the Lankester-Drake Lanes area on Saturday at about 4:20 p.m. after reports of gunshots. “Numerous” shell casings were found at the scene, but no victims were located.

“It is believed … there was a dispute between a group of males and a lone male,” Sgt. Joanne Bortoluss said in a news release. “The lone male fired numerous shots at the group in response to the altercation.”

She said the police are looking for a Black male suspect with a medium build who was wearing black clothing and a black mask.

IMPAIRED DRIVER HITS FIRE TRUCK

A 29-year-old Brampton man is facing impaired driving charges after a vehicle hit a fire truck.

The OPP said the fire truck was protecting the scene of another collision when it was hit at 2:26 a.m. on Saturday on Hwy. 403, at Aberdeen Ave., in Hamilton.

There were no injuries.

HATE MOTIVATED MISCHIEF

Toronto Police are looking for a suspect after outer glass doors and windows were damaged at a synagogue.

Police describe the vandalism, which happened Friday at 3:30 a.m. the Bayview Ave.-Fifeshire Rd. area, as an act of suspected hate-motivated mischief.

The suspect, who fled the area, was wearing a blue hooded jacket, black pants and back shoes.

Police urged anyone with information to call 416-808-3500.

PROVINCAL WATCHDOG INVESTIGATES DEATH

The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the death of a 28-year-old woman who died in police custody on Friday morning.

Barrie Police Service officers arrested the woman Thursday night for outstanding warrants. She was taken to the station and held in a cell.

On Friday evening, an OPP special constable transported the woman from the Barrie Police Service station to Central North Correction Centre.

The woman was unresponsive in the vehicle and taken to hospital in Midland, where she was pronounced dead.

Shine Sprites are an important collectable in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (yes, even in the Nintendo Switch remake), as you’ll need them to upgrade your party members.

These collectables are often hiding in plain sight inside of a box to hit (as seen in the screenshot at the top of this guide), but some of them can be a little tricky to find. There are 42 Shine Sprites total in the game, and you’ll be able to find them all by the time you’re about halfway through Chapter 7.

Below, we explain what to use Shine Sprites for and where to find all 42 Shrine Sprites in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door .

What to use Shine Sprites for in Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door

Merlon , a wizard who lives next door to Professor Frankly, will beef up your partners in return for three Shine Sprites each . Every time you power them up, they’ll learn a new FP ability, gain more max HP, and deal a bit more damage, making these collectables pretty important.

There are enough Shine Sprites to max out every character (even the optional Ms. Mowz ). Each character gets upgraded twice, though you’ll need to help Merlon find a missing item in order to unlock the second upgrades.

Where to find Shine Sprites in Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door

We list all of the Shine Sprites locations based on how early you can find them. That said, you should be able to have our list next to you as you play, just running down chapter-by-chapter to help you find all 42 Shine Sprites.

In general, just look out for these boxes as you walk around. Most of them will be hanging out in plain sight, but some of them are tucked away behind decor or other objects.

You can also check the percentage of Shine Sprites you have in each area via your in-game map.

'A horrible way to start the summer': 3 killed in serious boat crash on lake north of Kingston, Ont.

Three people were killed and five others were injured Saturday night following a boat crash on the Buck Bay area of Bobs Lake, north of Kingston, Ont. -- approximately 140 kilometres south of Ottawa, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says.

It happened between Westport and Parham just after 9:30 p.m. 

The OPP said in an update on Sunday "one boat was described as an open bow fishing style boat and the other as a speed boat."

Police say the three people were pronounced dead at the scene. They identify them as:

• 21-year-old female from South Frontenac Township

• 22-year-old female from Elginburg

• 23-year-old male from South Frontenac

The five others who were injured range in age from 21 to 44. They were taken to a Kingston hospital "with a range of injuries. One was transported by Ornge Air due to the severity of their injuries. Others involved were checked out at the scene by paramedics," the OPP said.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, OPP spokesperson Bill Dickson told CTV News Ottawa in an interview Sunday.

"A horrible way to start the summer and a horrible thing for all of the families that are impacted by this," he said. 

"At this point, we request that everyone gives the families some privacy to deal with this tragedy," he said.

This tragic incident happened during Boat Safety week, Dickson said. He reminds people of the importance of the boat safety rules.  

"Have the gear, follow the rules. You have to have your operator's card and make sure that you not only get that card but remember those rules (and) refresh your memory. Go to the Transport Canada website. There's a whole page of all the marine safety tips (and) all the gear that's necessary and required by law," Dickson said.

"We also talked to people about life jackets. By law, you have to have them in the boat, but please having them in the boat doesn't always work. And I'm not speaking specifically in this incident, but in general."
