Here's What Lil Yachty Means When He Says He 'Took The Wock To Poland'
- Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below
After snippets of Lil Yachty ’s “Poland” leaked online, the tune immediately became a viral phenomenon and has proven itself to be just as addictive as the song’s subject matter. Lil Yachty hasn’t released a song in over a year, so it’s no surprise that the song would become a hit with a one liner that’s got all of the social media in a digital grasp.
On Oct. 4, shortly after the leaks, Yachty, or Lil Boat as he’s affectionately known to fans, released the official minute-and-a-half-long song on SoundCloud .
POLAND – LIL YACHTY(PROD. F1LTHY) by Lil Yachty, RD, Lil Boat on #SoundCloud https://t.co/0aw1OHfEWI — C.V Thomas (@lilyachty) October 4, 2022
This is great news for fans of the 25-year-old Georgia native who have been itching for some new music since he dropped his Michigan Boy Boat mixtape last year.
Yachty hasn’t released a song in over a year, and it’s no surprise that the song would become a hit with a one liner that got all of the social media in a digital grasp.
According to Genius , “Poland” was recorded in 2021, and in August of this year, Yachty caught wind of a snippet floating around on the internet, and he wasn’t thrilled. This is when he decided to exclusively drop the track on SoundCloud. The F1LTHY- produced track has since amassed over 4.2 million plays.
Following the instant popularity of the song, it’s been placed on digital streaming platforms, such as Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal.
However, now that they’ve finally got a full length version of “Poland” in their possession, some fans have a few questions about the song’s content. If you’re an old head, you might be asking yourself the same.
What does Wock mean?
Wock is short for Wockhardt , an India-based pharmaceutical company that produces — you guessed it — promethazine and codeine cough syrup. For those who aren’t familiar with promethazine and codeine, those are the key ingredients in lean. Back in the 90s, all the rappers used to rap about Actavis, another global pharmaceutical company. However, it looks like Yachty wants to make Wock the new trend as he travels around the European country of Poland .
We definitely don’t encourage ”Wock” or other drugs, and we still don’t understand why taking it to Poland is a big deal. Codeine is an opiod , highly addictive, and misuse can result in overdose or even death.
Although the subject matter itself isn’t worthy of a theme song, you can still check out some of Twitter’s responses to the track below.
One fan re-created a cover for the song, and Yachty said, he’s changing his current cover to this!

Okay, But When Did Lil Yachty Take the Wock to Poland?
Just in case you haven’t heard by now: Lil Yachty took the wock to Poland. The rapper and pizza mogul has been building buzz over the past week for an 83-second song that’s little more than him repeating the hook “I took the wock to Poland” in a manner somewhere between an operatic recitative and singing through a fan. (Wock, if you don’t know, is a nickname for Wockhardt cough syrup, a go-to for mixing lean; Yachty had previously rapped about his love of the wock on “Wocky My Lover.”) The song leaked on SoundCloud, prompted a bunch of memes , and ended up with an unofficial video with over 4 million views before officially hitting streaming services and getting a Lyrical Lemonade music video today.
None of that is surprising — it’s a hypnotic, fun song you’ll definitely want on repeat. But there’s still one question: When , exactly, did Yachty take the wock to Poland? According to Setlist.fm, the rapper has never performed in the country; the last time Yachty properly toured Europe, in 2017, Poland wasn’t on the list . Vulture reached out to a representative for Yachty to ask if he had ever performed in Poland but has not received a response. Meanwhile, that unofficial “Poland” video, posted by Hotspot Music, purports to be shot at “6:00 am somewhere in Poland,” but it’s clear from the English-language street signs that it was made nowhere near Poland. The Lyrical Lemonade video was shot in the New York City subway (though a sign was changed to read “POLAND”).
So we hate to break it to you, but it looks as though Yachty might never have actually taken the wock to Poland. But that could be about to change. Yachty’s manager, Pierre “Pee” Thomas, shared with HipHopDX that the rapper had been formally invited to Poland by the country’s prime minister, Mateusz Morawiecki. “Oh shit,” Yachty replied, according to screenshots of their texts. But is he packing the wock?

How Lil Yachty Got His Second Act
By Jeff Ihaza
Until the pandemic, Lil Yachty never stopped to think about how quickly he became famous. “It was a full year from walking across the stage in high school to then I’m in this penthouse in midtown Atlanta , I got this G-wagon, put my mother in a house,” Yachty explains. “It’s a fast life. You not ever getting the chance to think about a lot of shit.”
Yachty’s 2016 hit “Minnesota,” which had the treacly energy of a nursery rhyme, earned the then-17-year-old the title “King of the Teens.” But since then, he’s become an elder statesman of a certain brand of young superstar — and something like the Gen Z answer to Diddy. He collaborated with brands like Nautica and Target; he appeared in the movie How High 2 ; he signed an endorsement deal with Sprite. Signees to his new label imprint, Concrete Boys, even get an iced-out chain.

Born Miles Parks McCollum, Yachty embodies many of the ways the music industry has changed in the past decade. He rose to fame on the internet and commands attention with or without new music. Over Zoom in March, he’s calm and reserved, pausing intently before he responds to questions. The youthful exuberance is still there, though. At one point, his mom, who lives nearby, calls to ask what he wants from the grocery store. “I need Pop-Tarts,” he says sweetly. “I really want them cinnamon-bun Pop-Tarts.”
He can afford lots of Pop-Tarts. Yachty reportedly made $13 million on endorsements in 2016 and 2017. (“Work hard, play hard,” he responds when asked about the number.) He spends more than $50,000 a month on various expenses, according to one recent headline. (“If anything I pay a little more. I have many assets and insurance, plus an elaborate payroll.”) He’s working on a Reese’s Puffs cereal collaboration, a film based on the card game Uno, and he was one of the first rappers to hop on the crypto craze, selling something called a “YachtyCoin” last December in an auction on the platform Nifty Gateway. According to a report from Coinbase, the token sold for $16,050. Yachty explains that when he was first discovered by Quality Control records founder Kevin “Coach K” Lee, “one of the biggest things he talked about was being a brand. Being bigger than just an artist — being a mogul.”

In fact, collaboration has come to be a useful tool for Yachty as he sheds the King of the Teens title for something more akin to a rap mogul. “I only work with people I have friendships with, who I really admire,” Yachty says. “And I love working with newer artists, up-and-coming artists.” Within the world of hip-hop, Yachty has found for himself somewhere between a megastar and internet hero, and it would appear that he’s just settling in. “I just fuck with new talent. Not even like, ‘let me sign you, get under my wing,’ ” he explains. “Just ‘hey, I’ve been in this spot before. I know what that’s like, bada bing, bada boom.’ ”
Yachty started Concrete Boys last year. One of the first signees was his childhood friend Draft Day, who offers one of the more exciting features on Lil Boat 3, on the cut “Demon Time.” “I feel old sometimes,” Yachty admits. “I feel old as fuck when someone’s popping and I don’t know who they are. Which is rare, because I be on my shit.”
Yachty is also at the forefront of a new realm of social platforms, namely Twitch and Discord, that engender more direct communication within communities. Yachty frequently talks directly to fans on both platforms, and in April he collaborated with Discord on “sound packs,” which allowed users to replace the app’s normal notifications with sounds he created.

His enduring celebrity is proof of what’s possible with a solid flow and internet savvy. “I just want to do everything. Because I’ve realized I can,” Yachty explains. “I’ve learned the power I have. Definition of yacht noun from the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary
By Alphonse Pierre
Quality Control / Motown
February 1, 2023
At a surprise listening event last Thursday, Lil Yachty introduced his new album Let’s Start Here. , an unexpected pivot, with a few words every rap fan will find familiar: “I really wanted to be taken seriously as an artist, not just some SoundCloud rapper or some mumble rapper.” This is the speech rappers are obligated to give when it comes time for the drum loop to take a backseat to guitars, for the rapping to be muted in favor of singing, for the ad-libs to give it up to the background singers, and for a brigade of white producers with plaque-lined walls to be invited into the fold.
Rap fans, including myself, don’t want to hear it, but the reality is that in large slices of music and pop culture, “rapper” is thrown around with salt on the tongue. Pop culture is powerfully influenced by hip-hop, that is until the rappers get too close and the hands reach for the pearls. If anything, the 25-year-old Yachty—as one of the few rappers of his generation able to walk through the front door anyway because of his typically Gushers-sweet sound and innocently youthful beaded braid look—might be the wrong messenger.
What’s sour about Yachty’s statement isn’t the idea that he wants to be taken seriously as an artist, but the question of who he wants to be taken seriously by. When Yachty first got on, a certain corner of rap fandom saw his marble-mouthed enunciation and unwillingness to drool over hip-hop history as symbols of what was ruining the genre they claimed to love. A few artists more beholden to tradition did some finger-wagging— Pete Rock and Joe Budden , Vic Mensa and Anderson .Paak , subliminals from Kendrick and Cole —but that was years ago, and by now they’ve found new targets. These days, Yachty is respected just fine within rap. If he weren’t, his year-long rebirth in the Michigan rap scene, which resulted in the good-not-great Michigan Boy Boat , would have been viewed solely as a cynical attempt to boost his rap bona fides. His immersion there felt earnest, though, like he was proving to himself that he could hang.
The respect Yachty is chasing on Let’s Start Here. feels institutional. It’s for the voting committees, for the suits; for Questlove to shout him out as the future , for Ebro to invite him back on his radio show and say My bad, you’re dope. Never mind if you thought Lil Yachty was dope to start with: The goal of this album is to go beyond all expectations and rules for rappers.
And the big pivot is… a highly manicured and expensive blend of Tame Impala -style psych-rock, A24 synth-pop, loungey R&B, and Silk Sonic -esque funk, a sound so immediately appealing that it doesn’t feel experimental at all. In 2020, Yachty’s generational peers, Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti , released Eternal Atake and Whole Lotta Red : albums that pushed forward pre-existing sounds to the point of inimitability, showcases not only for the artists’ raps but their conceptual visions. Yachty, meanwhile, is working within a template that is already well-defined and commercially successful. This is what the monologue was for?
To Yachty’s credit, he gives the standout performance on a crowded project. It’s the same gift for versatility that’s made him a singular rapper: He bounces from style to style without losing his individuality. A less interesting artist would have been made anonymous by the polished sounds of producers like Chairlift ’s Patrick Wimberly, Unknown Mortal Orchestra ’s Jacob Portrait, and pop songwriters Justin and Jeremiah Raisen, or had their voice warped by writing credits that bring together Mac DeMarco , Alex G , and, uh, Tory Lanez . The production always leans more indulgent than thrilling, more scattershot than conceptual. But Yachty himself hangs onto the ideas he’s been struggling to articulate since 2017’s Teenage Emotions : loneliness, heartbreak, overcoming failure. He’s still not a strong enough writer to nail them, and none of the professionals collecting checks in the credits seem to have been much help, but his immensely expressive vocals make up for it.
Actually, for all the commotion about the genre jump on this project, the real draw is the ways in which Yachty uses Auto-Tune and other vocal effects as tools to unlock not just sounds but emotion. Building off the vocal wrinkle introduced on last year’s viral moment “ Poland ,” where he sounds like he’s cooing through a ceiling fan, the highlights on Let’s Start Here. stretch his voice in unusual directions. The vocals in the background of his wistful hook on “pRETTy” sound like he’s trying to harmonize while getting a deep-tissue massage. His shrill melodies on “paint THE sky” could have grooved with the Weeknd on Dawn FM . The opening warble of “running out of time” is like Yachty’s imitation of Bruno Mars imitating James Brown , and the way he can’t quite restrain his screechiness enough to flawlessly copy it is what makes it original.
Too bad everything surrounding his unpredictable and adventurous vocal detours is so conventional. Instrumental moments that feel like they’re supposed to be weird and psychedelic—the hard rock guitar riff that coasts to a blissful finale in “the BLACK seminole.” or the slow build of “REACH THE SUNSHINE.”—come off like half-measures. Diana Gordon ’s falsetto-led funk on “drive ME crazy!” reaches for a superhuman register, but other guest appearances, like Fousheé ’s clipped lilts on “pRETTy” and Daniel Caesar ’s faded howls on the outro, are forgettable. None of it is ever bad : The synths on “sAy sOMETHINg” shimmer; the drawn-out intro and outro of “WE SAW THE SUN!” set the lost, trippy mood they’re supposed to; “THE zone~” blooms over and over again, underlined by Justine Skye ’s sweet and unhurried melodies. It’s all so easy to digest, so pitch-perfect, so safe. Let’s Start Here. clearly and badly wants to be hanging up on those dorm room walls with Currents and Blonde and IGOR . It might just work, too.
Instead, consider this album a reminder of how limitless rap can be. We’re so eager for the future of the genre to arrive that current sounds are viewed as restricting and lesser. But rap is everything you can imagine. I’m thinking about “Poland,” a song stranger than anything here: straight-up 1:23 of chaos, as inventive as it is fun. I took that track as seriously as anything I heard last year because it latches onto a simple rap melody and pushes it to the brink. Soon enough, another rapper will hear that and take it in another direction, then another will do the same. That’s how you really get to the future.

What Is Lil Yachty’s ‘Wock’ & Why Did He Take It To Poland?
After setting social media ablaze with his new song for “ Poland ” and the clever one-liner “I took the wock to Poland” last week, it seems fans finally have an answer to what Lil Yatchy ‘s “wock” means.
According to Urban Dictionary , “wock” is slang for a cough syrup containing Promethazine and Codeine produced by the company Wockhardt. Typically, the drug is used recreationally, mixed with a soft drink, and is known for having sedative effects.
Yachty also released an accompanying visual with the song on October 7. As for why he specifically took the wock to Poland, of all countries, he said in a recent interview, “I was in the studio, right, working on my new album, and I was actually just trolling. My mans was just drinking a Poland Springs water bottle.”
The song caused all types of chatter across Twitter, and among those reacting was the social media account for Ryanair, an airline based in Ireland, not Poland, that decided to jump in with the fun online.
“Why do people flying to Poland keep asking about wock,” the account tweeted.

This past summer, the rapper announced that he was launching a line of frozen pizzas at Walmart , along with starring in Paramount +’s new rap battle movie, On The Come Up . In a recent interview with People , the rapper talked about his frozen food brand, saying, “I’ve been pushing to make it a part of my brand since the beginning of my career. I recently got some new management that was able to really push and make it happen. It couldn’t have happened at a better time. The thing behind my love for pizza was, quite frankly, my mom worked two jobs. She was a very busy woman. She’d be pretty tired when she came home, and she just always brought home a pizza. We went and picked up a pizza or baked a pizza. It became pretty standard in our life, and I loved it.
Lil Yachty Reveals AI-Generated Album Cover for ‘Let’s Start Here,’ Depicting Demented Boardroom of Executives

Lil Yachty has revealed the artwork and release date for his forthcoming album, “Let’s Start Here,” set to debut Jan. 27 on Quality Control Music and Motown Records.
Ever the provocateur, the rapper’s new cover art previews an AI-generated image of what seems to be seven executives sitting next to each other in suits. With malformed faces akin to a psychedelic trip down the rabbit hole, the artwork seems unremarkable upon first glance. However, the longer you stare at their faces, they look inhuman, with contorted facial features and warped smiles.
Popular on Variety
In an interview with Icebox last year , the “ Minnesota ” rapper has expressed that his “new album is a non-rap album,” hence the second chapter that he alludes to in his Instagram post. Yachty explains: “It’s alternative, it’s sick!” After recently collaborating with artists such as Tame Impala, he’s been in the process of creating a “psychedelic alternative project… [with] all live instrumentation.”
Slowly shedding major label support, Yachty now has his own label and creative consultant company, Concrete Records and Concrete Family, respectively. Working closely with Concrete Family, Yachty teamed up with the General Mills cereal brand in 2020 for a limited collaboration with Reese’s Puffs and has an undisclosed sneaker set to be released at a later date. Similar to his 2021 mixtape, “Michigan Boat Boy,” which featured almost solely Detroit artists including Rio Da Yung OG and Babyface Ray, Yachty plans to also release a mixtape with the Concrete Boys collective sometime this year.

On Saturday night, Kendrick Lamar came back with another diss to Drake over a Mustard beat.
Kendrick Lamar isn't playing with Drake.
If you're a fan of both, it has been a great week for rap fans as the community has broken down the meanings behind every diss song. You can catch yourself up by reading our pieces on "Euphoria," "6:16 in LA," "Meet the Grahams," and "Family Matters."
Just when you thought Cinco de Mayo weekend would be calm-ish, K. Dot released "Not Like Us," a Mustard-produced banger that had everyone on the West Coast dancing and riding for him.

What if Lil Yachty’s ‘Poland’ contains the meaning of life?
The rapper’s strange new hit feels like viral funtime, but it might be bigger than that
Do people listen to music just so they can draw neat little career arcs on graph paper? It might feel that way if you’ve been following the digital chitchat around Lil Yachty’s latest single “ Poland ,” a discussion that seems bent on solving the mystery of how an enfant terrible becomes a pitchman for Target; then retrenches with a bunch of way-less-famous Michigan rappers simply because he’s a fan; then launches his own line of frozen pizzas; then arrives at this strange new hit, which sounds as cool and inscrutable as the other side of the moon.
The case seems crackable enough. Yachty contains multitudes. He’s more of a person than a business model, and his zigzagging curiosity feels more like an artistic impulse than a brand strategy. Good for him — and if adjacent artists start chasing after their own weirdo whims with even half of his zeal, good for all of us, because while “Poland” certainly tells us something about Yachty’s expansive sense of self, it tells us even more about life: That it’s cold, short, lonely, vast, absurd and yet, despite all of these things, incredibly fun.
It’s true, “I took the Wock to Poland” might not read like the year’s most mesmerizing pop mantra in keystroke form, but across those six words, Yachty makes his voice — a melodized yawn that has chafed low-imagination rap purists from the start — do something new, elongating the most flexible syllables and allowing them to tremble with Auto-Tuned vibrato. In this funny, freaky, emotionally extravagant, tragicomic gush, he sounds like a machine that’s learned how to cry.
So he spends the rest of the song proving he’s human, stressed out and lost in the cold. “Phone still ringing, battling all my demons,” Yachty rhymes, synthesizers swarming at his back. “I been fiending, baby girl, I been fiending.” Here, it’s almost better if you don’t know that “the Wock” is a reference to the recreational use of Wockhardt pharmaceutical-grade cough syrup — that way, it might sound like Yachty took the walk to Poland, a phrase that opens up all kinds of fresh metaphorical pathways. It’s an almost inconceivable micro-thrill, taking a wrong turn down a song this concise.
Concise might be an understatement, too. “Poland” only lasts for one minute and 23 seconds. Hook, verse, hook, see you next time. Go ahead and superimpose all of your paranoia about the death of the American attention span onto this song if you must, but then listen to it again. Yachty’s brevity is casually artful, highly playful and totally real. “Poland” isn’t short, it’s fleeting, and you might even find the meaning of life in the difference between the two.

Kid Cudi Clears Up Drake 'Shot' After Lil Yachty Songwriting Credit Confusion
Kid Cudi has cleared up suggestions he was taking a shot at Drake while setting the record straight on his songwriting credits.
The Cleveland rapper was replying to a fan on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday (May 7) who speculated that Lil Yachty , who co-produced his INSANO (NITRO MEGA) track “Superboy,” did more than just make the beat.
“No one writes my lyrics EVER,” he replied. “Every song U have ever heard from me, I wrote. The credits on songs can be confusing when u see all those names, and its usually producers of the song or sample.”
Cudi then emphasized his point by writing in a separate post: “Its a really powerful feeling knowing I wrote the lyrics on all 12 of my albums.”
When some interpreted his comments as a dig at Drake, who has been plagued by ghostwriting allegations over the last decade, Mr. Rager denied throwing shade at his “IMY2” collaborator.
“Man me speakin my truth is not me dissing anyone. Its my truth. Its a fact,” he clarified. “This came up cuz someone was talkin like yachty wrote my verse on superboy. Just wanted to address it and make it 100% clear.”

Lil Yachty has been accused of working for Drake as a ghostwriter , most prominently by friend turned foe Rick Ross .
After a purported demo of Drizzy’s Her Loss hit “Jumbotron Shit Poppin” recorded by Yachty leaked online, Rozay was quick to fuel the speculation.
“Yacht Put ya phone on silent lil bro.. [100 emoji] #BBLDRIZZY CALLING AGAIN [nose emoji, hand emoji, laughing emoji],” he wrote on Instagram, referencing his previous claim that the 6 God has undergone plastic surgery .
He added: “YACHT AKA THE PEN [five writing emojis].”

This is not the first time that Kid Cudi has been forced to clear the air regarding his relationship Drake.
While discussing his turbulent relationship with Kanye West in a 2022 interview with Esquire , he said: “With all due respect, I’m not Drake, who’s about to take a picture with him next week and be friends again, and their beef is squashed. That’s not me.
“What I say, I mean. I will be done with you. It’s gonna take a motherfucking miracle for me and that man to be friends again. I don’t see it happening. He gon’ have to become a monk.”
Cudi later clarified his comments , tweeting: “Just to be clear, I wasnt tryna throw a shot at Drake. I got love 4 him. My point I was tryna make is that im not so forgiving. Meaning he might be a lil nicer than me in that situation w dude. Thats all. Maybe that came off wrong thru my words. So yea, all good w Drake.”

"No one writes my lyrics EVER" - Kid Cudi dispels rumor Lil Yachty shared songwriting credit for his song Superboy
G rammy Award-winning artist Kid Cudi has come forward to address false claims regarding the songwriting credits for his hit track Superboy .
On May 7, 2024, Cudi replied to a fan on X and unequivocally asserted that he was the sole creative force behind the lyrics of Superboy . However, rumors had suggested that fellow rapper Lil Yachty was involved in the writing process and deserved songwriting credit for the popular song. Kid Cudi is adamant that this is not the case -
"No one writes my lyrics EVER. Every song U have ever heard from me, I wrote," he replied on X.
During discussions on X, a few observers speculated that Kid Cudi's recent statement is a subtle reference to Drake, who has faced ghostwriting allegations. Cudi denied the reference.
Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, known as Kid Cudi, is an American rapper. He is famous for his autobiographical lyrics, describing childhood experiences, loneliness, heartbreak, and spirituality. His major hits include Just What I Am , Cudi Zone , Day N Nite , and Soundtrack 2 My Life .
Kid Cudi dismisses allegations of songwriting collaboration with Lil Yachty
In a candid discussion on X, Cudi's fan tweeted that if Cudi and Jaden's rumored upcoming new album had a Lil Yachty collab, it would be a banger, as he had produced two of Cudi's songs, including Superboy . In response, a fan wrote that he saw Yachty under the writer's credit for Superboy .
Kid Cudi came in to dispel any misinformation surrounding the origins of Superboy and reaffirm his commitment to authenticity in his artistry. Referring to the credits, Cudi suggested the names fans see on the list can be "confusing" and names are of "usually producers" -
"The credits on songs can be confusing when u see all those names, and its usually producers of the song or sample."
On the same day, Cudi tweeted a separate post suggesting he is the sole writer of all 12 albums. He expressed the feeling as "powerful" -
"Its a really powerful feeling knowing I wrote the lyrics on all 12 of my albums."
Under the tweet, a fan humorously suggested that the Erase Me artist is referring to Drake . Kid Cudi then clarified he did not want to diss anyone, but it is a straightforward declaration of factual accuracy following confusion that Lil Yachty wrote his lyrics -
"Man me speakin my truth is not me dissing anyone. Its my truth. Its a fact. This came up cuz someone was talkin like yachty wrote my verse on Superboy. Just wanted to address it and make it 100% clear," Cudi replied.
This instance is not the first time Kid Cudi had to address his association with Drake. In 2022, during an interview with Esquire, Cudi, discussing his relationship with Ye, suggested that he is "not Drake", who can be friends again with someone he had beefed with. Later, he took X to clarify his statement, implying that Drake can be "lil nicer" and that he was not throwing at him -
"Just to be clear, I wasnt tryna throw a shot at Drake. I got love 4 him. My point I was tryna make is that im not so forgiving. Meaning he might be a lil nicer than me in that situation w dude. Thats all. Maybe that came off wrong thru my words. So yea, all good w Drake."
In the tweet earlier this week, the fan referenced Drake in the discussion because many rappers, including Kendrick Lamar , have accused Drake of ghostwriting and using AI in his lyrics. In 2015, Meek Mill first alleged that Drake used a ghostwriter to pen his verse in their collaboration R.I.C.O .
Also, most recently, on April 15, 2024, Rick Ross accused Lil Yachty of writing for Drake . The allegations came after when an early version of Drake's song Her Loss, alternatively titled Jumbotron Shit Poppin , recorded by Lil Yachty, surfaced online without authorization. Ross took to his Instagram and called Yachty, Drake's "pen" -
"Yacht, Put ya phone on silent lil bro. #BBLDRIZZY CALLING AGAIN. YACHT AKA THE PEN."
Disputes often arise in the hip-hop industry, yet Kid Cudi has stated that he does not disparage anyone in his tweets.
After falling at the Coachella festival and breaking his foot, Kid Cudi has postponed his INSANO World Tour until further notice.

If you ask any random Drake or Lil Yachty fan, they’ll probably tell you that Kid Cudi is either just really proud of himself or feeling a tad bit petty at the moment.
But Kid Cudi himself will tell you it’s neither, because he’s truly that passionate when it comes to honing his craft as a Hip-Hop artist. If you’re slightly confused at this point, let me back up and set the stage.
Earlier this week on Twitter (X), a fan speculating about possible features on Kid Cudi and Jaden Smith’s rumored collaborative project discovered, and promptly shared, the fact that Yachty was credited as a producer on the Cleveland rapper’s recent INSANO (NITRO MEGA) Deluxe album track “SUPERBOY.”
“Didn’t know Yachty produced Superboy, I saw he had writer’s credit also… You might be on to something bro,” the Twitter (X) user wrote in the tweet.

While it seems as though the fan was purely excited that there could be a chance the pair could be collaborating more closely, Kid Cudi seemed to denounce the idea altogether.
In response to the fan, Kid Cudi wrote, “No one writes my lyrics EVER. Every song U have ever heard from me, I wrote. The credits on songs can be confusing when u see all those names, and its usually producers of the song or sample.”
He then doubled down in another tweet, writing, “Its a really powerful feeling knowing I wrote the lyrics on all 12 of my albums.”

At that point, a fan pointed out that Kid Cudi clearly has to be taking a shot at Drake, considering he’s been getting dragged for having writing credits on the diss records he’s released amid his beef with Kendrick Lamar. However, the “Man On The Moon” himself stood on business and confirmed that it has nothing to do with Drizzy and everything to do with getting the respect he deserves for his pen game.
“Man me speakin my truth is not me dissing anyone,” he tweeted. “Its my truth. Its a fact. This came up cuz someone was talkin like yachty wrote my verse on superboy. Just wanted to address it and make it 100% clear.”

It’s certainly believable that Kid Cudi takes pride in the potency of his lyricism as an artist, considering he’s one of the most unique, multi-genre-spanning songwriters the rap and music industry at-large has ever seen. However, in 2022 he did make it clear that just because Kanye West had reconciled with Drake, didn’t mean that he was going to be buddy-buddy with him as a result. But, it’s also worth noting he mentioned he and Drake were good and even tweeted a remark confirming their beef had come to an end in 2021.

Song Meanings and Facts
“Poland” by Lil Yachty
by Amanda London · October 7, 2022
All lyrics considered, what Lil Yachty’s “Poland” primarily serves as is an ode to lean. Anyone who knows lean knows it is a highly-intoxicating drink which uses dangerous quantities of cough syrup as one of its main ingredients.
As such, when Yachty puts forth that he “ took the Wock ’ to Poland ”, it has been ascertained that what he is referring to is a company called Wockhardt, which by the way is based in India. The company in question does in fact manufacture cough syrup.
So the line which makes up the chorus would read, in full, something like ‘I took the Wockhardt (Promethazine with Codeine Purple Cough Syrup) to Poland’.
Why the Country Poland?
But as to why the rapper decided to specify the country of Poland on this piece, that remains a mystery .
It does seem that Yachty may have toured Europe awhile back, though for whatever reason, actual information on said trip appears nonexistent. But he even goes as far as to highlight Poland, as it sits on the European map, on the cover art to this song.
Beyond that, we also have the vocalist referring to his “ baby girl ”, “ demons ” and what have you, though only sparsely. It has also been put forth that as far as this song’s only actual verse, what Yachty is speaking to, in part, is his addiction to lean.
Some analysts have also suggested that this entire terse narrative is set in Poland, which may be the case, though that’s never really specified lyrically.
But what is more apparent is that getting too caught up in this song’s meaning isn’t the intent, as the repetitiveness and sparsity of the lyrics would indicate it was designed more along the lines of compelling listeners to bounce.
Lil Yachty is a rapper who was involved in quite a few hits during the late 2010s. That hasn’t necessarily translated into his own albums proving successful, as for instance his most-recent LP, 2020’s “Lil Boat 3”, has thus far failed to earn any certifications.
But he is still considered a pertinent member of the hip-hop community and as such has notably ventured into other business endeavors, such as launching a nail polish line in 2021. But that said, prior to releasing the song “Poland”, Yachty revealed that he will soon get around to dropping another studio album, which will be his fourth.
Release Date of “Poland”
“Poland” has an official release date of 4th October, 2022.
