I was a bit dubious after reading a few mixed reviews about the company damaging the coral to get you a good picture, but I'm glad I decided to go for it. All I can say is, this was an amazing experience and the company were so careful to ensure nobody caused any damage and were careful to give you very clear instructions before the activity. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definately recommend to others Read more Written August 29, 2023

  • lorrainechallenor 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles I would have liked to see more of the gardens on this trip. The tour guide was not needed if we were given a map of the theme park. I was looking forward to looking at the Winery but oh what a disappointment, Just a few empty barrels and at the end of the short walk through the walk way to the wine bar. No free samples and certainly did not have a french feel with a picture of St Marks Square Italy. Would have liked to look around the gardens but was hurried to the next cable car to the the top to the theme park not impressed. I had high hopes for this trip but felt let down., More toilet stops on the way there would have been good due to medication I struggled. More for families. Disney land and still building work being carried out. Would advise not to go but go to and spend more time at Hue, I did like the views on the cable cars going up and down. • Intrepidtraveler53 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles The company canceled 15 min before they were supposed to arrive. There are many things you should know. The booking is not definitive until you receive a confirmation that could take at least 24 hrs yet the trip I booked was non-refundable unless they canceled. That was the first indication that there was an issue. The company, after confirming the excursion canceled the tour 15-min before my pick-up time. Yes, the water was rough, and it was unsafe to swim. However, the snorkeling is a small part of the trip. The company has no back-up provision when there are rough waters. The company left me stranded with no tour at 12:15 ish pm for a 12:30 pm tour, and I was only in Saipan for one day. The company's response, we are sorry. I requested a modification, but they wouldn't. Luckily, PDI came through and provided me a fantastic tour instead. Another thing that I didn't notice when I booked, the photos online show scuba divers, and the trip is for snorkeling. Snorkelers cannot go through the passage. So, the snorkeling is, in my opinion, pointless and a minimal part of the excursion. Why is the company using photos of scuba divers for a snorkeling trip? I do not recommend this company. This one day trip helped me to explore Furano in a day, unfortunately it was winter so we couldn't see the blue pond. Snow view of the waterfall was amazing. Wish there was more time at the big lavender farm for buying souvenirs. Highly recommend their horse oil water based cream, it is so moisturizing but not oily at all! At last, thank you our tour guide Katherine for very informative recommendation. didn't regret about all the things we bought based on her recommendation. • aRze3 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Disappointing experience During the booking of this tour, we specifically selected the English tour. However, 99% of the time our tour guide spoke in Chinese, which is a foreign language to us. From the very beginning, the guide was calling for our bus number, no.7 in Chinese and we almost missed our bus because we couldn't understand. It was only when we approached the guide and asked what number is it in English that we found out it was our bus. Because of this, we were last to board. We were disappointed that the bus was almost full and my friend and I were separated. We tried asking for the people next to us if they dont mind switching seats but they refused. Maybe this would've been fine if we could understand the tour, but because it's foreign we felt isolated. We were not satisfied and did not enjoy the tour at all. So we actually decided to drop out at the first attraction, which is Asahiyama Zoo and find our public transportation back so that we can enjoy the rest of our day by ourselves. The main issue here is that we signed up for an English tour but instead got Chinese. The only English sentences spoken was "Please be on time on the bus" and "Toilet break 2 mins". • 588phis 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Well organised and intensive tour I booked the tour package online and received the confirmation the next day. We met up with the guide and the group at Sapporo TV tower in the morning and headed to the Asahikawa Zoo. Everything was well organised. We stopped at a shop in Furano for the buffet lunch inclusive with the package and the food served was good. The stop at each attraction was rather short and hectic. If you want to see and do many things in one day, this is definitely the way to go. Unfortunately, we did not visit the Blue Pond as it was frozen and closed. If you do not drive by yourself, it would be difficult to get the different sights by public transport as they are rather secluded and far apart. On the other hand, driving in snow and unfamiliar terrain of the mountains would pose as a challenge for some. Read more Written January 4, 2020

My Cebu Photo Blog

Get Intimate with the Queen City of the South

From Another Perspective: My Cebu Sunset Cruise Experience

So, I recently had the chance to tick an exciting experience off my bucket list: a sunset cruise along the Mactan Channel ! It wasn’t my first time cruising along the channel, of course. It was definitely the first time that I experienced it on a yacht, however. And let me tell you, it was nothing short of amazing.

My Cebu Sunset Cruise Experience

Seeing the city (ies) that I know so well from a completely different perspective, with the sun slowly setting, was truly breathtaking. I’m excited to share my experience with you all, and maybe even give you a glimpse of Cebu’s magic from a whole new angle.

Are you ready to go on a Cebu sunset cruise with me? Let’s go!

For the record, I didn’t pay for this trip. I was invited to attend a media conference for this one brand and the event took place inside the yacht. Apologies if I cannot provide you with any contact details or rates. I didn’t even remember the name of the boat. Hehe.

But here’s a clue: the boat was docked in the marina behind Island Central Mall in Mactan. The dock was actually right next to the Cebu Yacht Club complex. So, if you know any yacht or cruise service operating off of this dock, then the search should be a lot easier.

Here’s a shot of the dock moments after we departed. We left at around 4:30 in the afternoon. You can see local kids having a fun afternoon swim in the water.

Mactan Icons

There’s a shot of some of the many yachts within the Cebu Yacht Club complex. The boats looked beautiful!

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

That right there is the Mahi development right next to the Mactan Marina Mall. It’s a massive mixed-use project which now stands at the football field right next to the mall.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

A few minutes later, the boat made a slow U-turn and this time, we were headed straight to Cebu City. Here is a shot of the Cebu-Mactan Ferry Terminal right below the Virgen del la Regla National Shrine. These boats take passengers straight to Pier 1 in Cebu City.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

We reached the first Mactan Bridge at around 5 in the afternoon. The air was starting to get cooler and we started seeing traces of orange in the sky.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

Mandaue’s Giants

That right there is the massive Mandani Bay complex in Mandaue City. Those are just 4 towers. The property is set to house a total of 21 highrise buildings. Can you believe that?

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

Here’s a view of Mandaue City’s midrise developments. You can clearly see the Cebu Doctors University, UC Med, and the Mandaue Chong Hua Hospital.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

The Cebu Boardwalk Mall across the Cebu Doctors University looks massive from the water. Sadly, it never got to open to the public.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

Beautiful Cebu City

What a wonderful sight! Cebu City’s skyline as of 2024. Who would’ve thought we’d have something like that?

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

The Cebu International Port as some highrises in the background. The Radisson Blu Hotel is clearly visible.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

Slowly approaching Cebu City proper, we got a close look at some of the vessels docked at the port. This interesting-looking ship reminds me of the ones that ply seas littered with solid ice.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

A Cokalion ship is docked right in front of the Aduana building which is now a national museum.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

There’s the giant gift box! The Compania Maritima building looks like a giant gift box that lights up at night.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

Breathtaking CCLEX

The sky was now a little darker as we slowly made our way towards the CCLEX.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

Here is a view of one of the bridge’s pylons which is situated very close to the SRP viaduct.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

Doesn’t she look amazing?

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

The main bridge of the CCLEX and the SRP viaduct in one frame. Lovely!

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

This was the first time that I saw the bridge from below. My jaw dropped, I tell. The bridge was massive!

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

Here is a shot of the other end of the bridge as it snakes toward the Municipality of Cordova.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

If you squint a little, you can see the cyclist headed towards Cordova. And, yes, cyclists are allowed at the CCLEX.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

The Perfect Finale

Here is a shot of South Coast City -another mega project at the South Road Properties. See those T-cranes? Yes, construction is now ongoing.

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

And, of course, there’s the beautiful SM Seaside City Cebu. A fishing boat happened to be in the water when I took this shot. I think it looks lovely!

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

And of course, the hottest property in Cebu right now – the Nustar Resort complex .

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

You see that round walkway protruding at the top of the tower? That’s the sky deck and it’s opening very soon!

cebu yacht club sunset cruise

It was a pretty amazing finale, don’t you think?

I have no more additional photos after this because I think you know what happened next – it was time to eat! 🙂

Our boat stayed in the area close to Nustar until it was fully dark. And then it was time to slowly head back to Mactan. The view after dark was out of this world. But of course, that deserves its own post. Hehe.

See you on our next sunset cruise, everyone! 🙂

Wally's who picked me up and dropped me back to my hotel was friendly, helpful, informative and funny. Our guide once we arrived in Oslob for whale watch, Laura was with us every step of the way. Tagalog falls was closed by the government due to little water but they substituted that with going up to see the monkeys. We did this between getting our ticket number for whale swimming and the actual swim time. This made the wait much shorter. The whale sharks were fantastic although a bit crowded. After we went to Sumilon Sandbar, where the snorkelling was amazing, even saw Nemo. The food back at the restaurant where we boarded boat for sumilon had great food too. We saw the oslob ruins and church and lastly Simala Shrine just on dusk which really put the place in a special light. All packed into one day for a great price. And to top that off met some great solo travellers along on the same tour. Read more Written 5 May 2024

Definitely do not miss this canyoneering experience. My son and I went with Blu Range Cebu after doing their "sardine run" tour and we also booked two-way transfers to Cebu/Mactan airport with them. All of our drivers and tour guides through Blu Range were great. They are local and really know the area. Our canyoneering guide seemed to know everybody, which meant that he had credit with vendors and could track down a ride at a moment's notice. The tour includes a couple transportation links by tricycle or scooter. You may want to bring money for the optional zip line (worth it!) and for vendors along the way. The guide takes great pictures and videos of your canyoneering experience -- better than I would have taken. You'll have the opportunity to jump into deep pools, but will not be pressured to do so. It's amzing just home many natural features are packed into this one canyon. That's the reason this is the most popular route on the island, despite the numerous other waterfalls in Cebu. Booking a tour with a local provider on the other side of the world often feals like a leap of faith...BUT from the moment I made contact with Blu Range owner Hannah (she is simply amazing) I was in good hands. From start to finish, as we finalized the custom details of a 4 day and 3 night itinerary I felt supported and reassured both overseas in Canada and in the Philippines. Hannah and her fabulous Team took such great care of us. I told her that we felt like family and it's evident throughout - she wants to ensure you enjoy your stay and that all booked experiences from the first moment you interact with her extended team are living up to your expectation. She ensures that her Team guides you to all the designated locations and are accountable each and every step of the way. Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail really shines. On our final day in Cebu - she noticed it was my birthday and as a touching surprise she coordinated the purchase of a small birthday cake at Carbon Market, wrote both of us a personalized note and provided a symbolic souvenir gift as a send-off - what a beautiful touch!! Heartfelt THANK YOUs to Hannah's extended team - we are extrememly grateful. It lasts about an hour long, but I got to do exactly what I came to see--the sardines and sea turtles! Jonathan, my guide, made me feel safe as I am not the strongest swimmer. I also had the go pro upgrade and got lasting memories of the tour without having to worry about taking my own photos/videos as Jonathan took care of it all and had it transferred to my phone after the tour. I also found out that the group does other diving adventures as I recently took up scuba. If I'm back in Cebu, I will hit them up again at ABISMO Divers Moalboal. Read more Written 11 February 2024

  • ltorres50 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Stay away, unless you want a silent tour and to try Cebu’s famous lechon from a shopping mall food court. Short version: Horrible experience, stay away,. They promised a private high -end food and culture tour and Blu Range didn’t deliver. We booked for 11/03/2023, started the tour that evening, and immediately canceled after the first stop as it was obviously going to be a waste of our time and money. The operator promised a refund for a failed tour and never did process the refund to this date almost two months ago. Long version: We booked a food tour with Hannah from Blu Range Cebu Tours on short notice. We only had one night in Cebu at the tail-end of 3 weeks in the Philippines and we wanted to have a great food and cultural tour, especially to experience Cebu’s world famous lechon. We discussed via WhatsApp with Hannah what we wanted and agreed to a rather pricey private tour (almost 14,000 Philippine Pesos or over $250 USD). Nevertheless , we felt good about Blu Range after reading reviews here on TripAdvisor. The tour guide met us at our hotel with a driver and we were off. Our comfort and confidence on the tour quickly faded. The guide and driver drove us to our first stop to try lechon. Rather than easing us into the ultimate Cebu dish with other foods, this was her first offering. I asked what the itinerary was, she said in very difficult English that we would go to this place first and try some foods at other places and continue until we were satisfied. Doubt started creeping in as this seemed very unplanned and haphazard. Our fears were gravely realized when the guide and driver took us to a food court in a modern shopping mall near our hotel (in Mactan, not Cebu City proper) to sample lechon. When we got there, needless to say we were very very disappointed. We don’t consider a shopping mall food court a highlight that would adequately spotlight Cebu’s world famous lechon. Additionally, the ride to the shopping mall was about 20 minutes and aside from answering a couple questions we had about the tour, the guide was painfully silent throughout almost the entire ride. She had nothing to offer about the city/location, culture, people nor the food we were about to eat. We didn’t know if she had difficulty communicating, as she barely communicated at all. The driver was even more silent, but they did talk to each other sporadically in Cebuano which we felt a little put off by. Full disclosure, I was born in the Philippines and had not been back in over 25 years. My wife isn’t Filipino and this was her first time visiting. I can understand and speak Tagalog. I can’t understand nor speak Cebuano nor radio silence. The final straw for us was when the food stall that offered lechon only had one type of lechon available, a very spicy lechon. There would be at least half an hour wait for the regular lechon. The guide didn’t even know this situation going to the place and she didn’t ask us about our dietary preferences. At this point we realized we were not going to get the food and cultural tour we discussed with Hannah and paid for. We contacted Hannah and mutually agreed to cancel the tour and she rpomised to refund us. The tour guide and driver took us back to our hotel, again in silence. We felt a little bad for the guide and driver, we tipped them despite our horrible experience as we did not want to be stranded in the shopping mall. It was near the holidays and we had extra pesos before returning to the US, so we felt like doing the right thing and gave them something. What a mistake. We communicated with Hannah a few times to inquire about our refund after arriving back in the US. To this date, almost 2 months since the failed tour, we still have not gotten a refund. 3 weeks of a beautiful trip to the Philippines was ruined by one evening of incompetence and disaster.

We swam with whale sharks up close, went snorkelling at Sumilon island with pristine water, fed some monkeys, saw the ruins and a massive church. We had a massive day from Mactan island and were picked up at 1am and we returned home at 6pm due to traffic. But we would not have had this experience without our amazing group of new found friends! Definitely do it if you’re considering! We paid $120 AUD for 17 hours (less than $7AUD/hour) it was well worth the early wakeup Read more Written 3 May 2024

MSC Cruise's Newest Ship Will Offer Largest and Latest MSC Yacht Club

M SC Cruises is launching its largest and most luxurious ship in April 2025 complete with the cruise line's most expansive onboard MSC Yacht Club.

The ship, MSC World America, (which will have its naming ceremony in Miami on April 9 ) features re-imagined venues and concepts created specifically with the U.S. market in mind, as well as seven unique districts for guests to explore.

And in its latest announcement today, the cruise line revealed that among the ship’s seven districts is the MSC Yacht Club. This exclusive area will provide a secluded sanctuary available to guests who stay in one of MSC World America’s 152 luxe suites.

MSC says the area will provide a “ship-within-a-ship concept” that offers “unparalleled personalized service and exclusive spaces for the discerning traveler."

“MSC World America will take our MSC Yacht Club product to new heights as the largest MSC Yacht Club in the North American market,” Cristian Comirla, MSC’s brand performance director for MSC Yacht Club, said in a statement.

The Yacht Club will offer “exclusive amenities, top-notch service and luxurious benefits,” Comirla added. “MSC Yacht Club offers a tranquil holiday for guests who prefer to have a more relaxing and secluded cruise experience, yet still have access to the excitement of the ship’s entertainment, specialty dining and other amenities.”

Yacht Club guests on MSC World America will also have access to Ocean House at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, an island retreat experience that has also been designed to provide elevated vacationing. The getaway, located in the Bahamas, features a private beach and restaurant and personalized service for guests.

Highlights of the MSC Yacht Club on MSC Cruise's latest ship include:

Expansive sundeck: Guests will find room to relax and take in sea views in this outdoor space spanning two decks. The lower deck will feature a bar and grill with an expanded seating area where guests can grab a bite to eat for breakfast and lunch, or enjoy a cocktail while watching the sunset.

The upper deck is a private area for lounging by the pool, taking a dip in the whirlpool or unwinding in a private cabana.

In addition, for the first time, MSC Yacht Club guests aboard MSC World America will be able to table service from the nearby bar and grill throughout the full sundeck area

  • Multi-room Owner Suites: Ultra-luxurious Owner Suites include a beautifully-decorated bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and bathrooms featuring a full-sized imperial bathtub. A separate living and dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows opens onto a private terrace complete with a hot tub and an al fresco dining area

Duplex Suites: MSC World America’s MSC Yacht Club will contain duplex suites spanning two decks that can accommodate families or larger groups traveling together.

On the lower deck, the dining and living areas offer space for relaxation with the added convenience of a guest bathroom. Upstairs, the main bedroom comes complete with its own bathroom.

The suites also offer plenty of outdoor space for lounging and sunbathing with some suites even boasting a two-level private sundecks and a private whirlpool.
