The 720 berth Msida and Ta’ Xbiex Marina, operated by Creek Developments Plc, can handle pleasure yachts of up to 22m in length. Long sought-after for the convenient central location and the shelter afforded from the prevailing North-Westerly winds, the marina is also naturally protected from other wind directions, while the breakwater protects against a North-Easterly swell.

We are delighted to be able to welcome visitors to the Marina once again. However, please check out the latest COVID-19 updates for information on the arrival formalities. Book and get clearance to travel in advance and benefit from being met by our Marina Assistants,  guided to a reserved berth and provided with utility access keys. Mail/poste restante, provisioning, bunkering and a full range of services can also be pre-arranged to make the best use of your time.

Visitors who have already cleared into another Maltese Port on the same visit do not need to request clearance again, although we still suggest recommend calling ahead during office hours on +356 2133 7049, +356 7933 7249 after office hours, or email [email protected].  Visiting boats will need to present valid insurance, registration and passport or identity card. The Memorandum and Articles of Association are required for boats which are owned by a Company, and the Leasing Agreement is required for charter boats. Royal Malta Yacht Club Marina

Operating seasonally form the beginning of May until the end of October, the RMYC Marina is located in Marsamxett Harbour right in front of the Club House.

Able to accommodate up to 65 boats from 6m to 20m LOA, it comprises two floating pontoons offering water and electricity on a pre-paid system. WC and showers are available in the clubhouse.

Marina di Valletta

A brand new 250+ berth yacht marina in Marsamxett Harbour, within walking distance of the Valetta city gate. Located a 10 minute drive from Malta International Airport, the Marina di Valletta boasts secure year-round berthing, with 24-hour marina personnel / security, marina office, WC, showers and Wi-Fi facilities.

Daily fuel bunkering, concierge, cleaning, technical Support and guardiennage services are also available along with direct transport links to Valletta and rest of the island. 

Grand Hotel Excelsior Marina

The Grand Hotel Excelsior in Marsamxett Harbour offers a private 30-berth marina. Participants wishing to use this marina will also need to be guests at the hotel.

The marina offers water, electricity, WC and showers. 

Grand Harbour Marina

A year-round luxury, superyacht marina located in Vittoriosa/Birgu, Grand Harbour, just beneath Fort St. Angelo.

With 5-Star yacht and superyacht services in an atmospheric setting, the marina offers water, electricity, WC and showers, with chic restaurants and bars within walking distance. 

Gardens Yacht Marina

Gardens Yacht Marina is centrally located in Ta' Xbiex and is within walking distance of marine shops.  

The yacht marina caters for 126 berths between 8 and 50 mts in length in a five star environment.

Most berths are med moorings stern too berths, to the Quay and on Marintek heavy duty concrete floating pontoons.

Manoel Island Yacht Marina

Centrally located in Gzira, on Manoel Island, the marina can accommodate vessels up to 80 metres LOA stern-to or along-side.

Mooring is Mediterranean style requiring bowlines and stern lines to be provided by yachts.

Each berth is serviced by metered water and electricity.  WC, showers are available and garbage is collected on a daily basis

Ta’ Xbiex Marina

For countless years in the 1950s a vast amount battleships were berthed in the Msida and Ta’ Xbiex marina. From the1960s right up until today, Ta’ Xbiex hosts many private boats with people from all nationalities making this location their berthing home for short as well as long stays.

The Msida and Ta’ Xbiex Marinas – many times referred to as the Sliema Marina –  form the largest marina in Malta. These Marinas together provide mooring facilities for more than 700 boats on 15 serviced pontoons. It is  located inside Marsamxett Harbour, which makes it safe and well sheltered, as well as conveniently central.

The Ta’ Xbiex Marina is operated by Creek Developments Plc, which embarked upon a project to refurbish the facilities, including replacing of aging pontoons and installation of shower and toilet facilities. Marina facilities include water outlets on the pontoons and 230 volt electricity outlets on the pontoons.

Visitors may proceed directly to berth in any vacant guest berth on the breakwater. If no guest berths are vacant, the yacht may not enter the Marina until permission has been granted by the Marina Office. For this reason we suggest that you contact us and we will take care of all your berthing requirements. Our experience and contacts will make sure your berthing exprience is smooth and hassle-free.

How to book your berth.

There are two ways you can book your berth at the Mgarr Marina, Gozo.

1. Book your berth through the Online booking system.

2. Through your Android or IOS device using the Mgarr Marina app which can be downloaded through the Play Store or App Store.

Simply enter your personal details, boat details and the date of berthing. Once all three steps are completed your berth will be reserved for you to enjoy your stay at the Mgarr Marina.

PA initiates process to withdraw policy enabling yacht marina in Marsascala

The Planning Authority (PA), following government’s direction, has started the process to remove a planning policy (SMMS 04) which supports the development of a yacht marina in the inner part of Marsascala Bay and the redevelopment of the ex-National Swimming Pool pitch for residential and commercial purposes, the PA said in a statement Friday.

The policy and its associated map are found in the South Malta Local Plan which was approved in 2006.

The existing policy states that in the inner part of Marsascala Bay, proposals for the development of a yacht marina would be positively considered. However, it calls for “appropriate studies” to be carried out, including an archaeological survey and an Environmental Impact Assessment, to determine “the scale, form and suitability of the proposed use”. The policy also requires that the project is financially feasible.

Provided that a Master Plan is prepared, the policy also links the redevelopment of the exNational Swimming Pool pitch in Marsascala to the development of the yacht marina, allocating 60% of the entire site for residential and commercial development.

With the withdrawal of this policy, the policy commitment towards the yacht marina will be eliminated and the ex-National Swimming Pool will remain a community facility with sports being the primary land use.
