How Lil Yachty Became Michigan Boy Boat
Before the release of âMichigan Boy Boat,â Lil Yachty sits for an interview about how his collabs with Michigan artists energized him to grow as a rapper.
Lil Yachty has been spending a lot of time in Michigan lately.
Midway through one low-budget music video for a song called âFlintana,â he shows up in a parking lot with a crew of up-and-coming rappers from Flint: RMC Mike, YN Jay, and Louie Ray. At the beginning of the clip, thereâs a disclaimer that says, âThis song was made the night before, therefore nobody knew the lyrics,â and everything about it has the raw, spontaneous feeling of a collaboration that came to life on a whim at 2 a.m. In other words, itâs in a completely different universe from the glossy sheen of a song like âOprahâs Bank Account.â
As Yachty lowers himself on the concrete and does push-ups at the end of Mikeâs verse, you canât help but wonder how the hell he ended up in a random Flint parking lot with a bunch of underground rappers in the first place. But he does such a good job matching the spirit of the song, context doesnât really matter here. Itâs all energy. After a few quick bars about pussy and a mouth full of gold, Yachty circles back with a couple Snoh Aalegra and Kevin Federline references to punctuate his second verse. And when heâs not rapping, he laughs along with punchlines from Mike, Jay, and Ray, hyping up his collaborators. âThey have fun,â he says now. âThey talk about all kinds of crazy shit.â

Later, thereâs a Lil Yachty sighting at a Detroit studio with Rio Da Yung OG , and he materializes on two more songs with YN Jay. As the year progresses, Yachtyâs Michigan collaborations keep popping up online, and each time he tries out self-described âunorthodoxâ flows, pushing himself to wild new lyrical territory. On all of them, he sounds more energized than weâve heard him in years. Before long, itâs clear Yachty has become an honorary member of the Michigan rap scene, home to some of the most exciting ( and quotable ) new artists on the planet.Â
âTheyâre mad fucking lyrical in a weird way,â he points out. âThe schemes and the cadences and the flows are so unorthodox.â
Yachty says these collaborations have taught him âhow to have fun with itâ again. Heâs having so much fun, in fact, that he decided to make a whole mixtape and call it Michigan Boy Boat . The project will arrive on April 23, and judging by the tags on the announcement Instagram post , it will feature everyone from Veeze to Babyface Ray to Sada Baby to Icewear Vezzo. As Yachty puts it, the project is an opportunity to show love to the scene heâs grown to care about so much.
As the release date nears, the 23-year-old rapper hopped on the phone with Complex to talk about Michigan Boy Boat, three other projects heâs working on, a night in the studio with Freddie Gibbs, and more. The interview, lightly edited for clarity, is below.
How did you first get plugged in with the Michigan rap scene? Iâve always loved Detroit rap. I used to work with Pablo Skywalkin back in 2016. And I always loved Tee Grizzley. âFirst Day Outâ was such an insane song, and I thought he was so lyrical. So I was working with him, and then my best friend Mitch started putting me on to other rappers locally who were on the rise, and I just loved their beats and their rapping schemes. I thought they were so dope. So thatâs how I got into it originally.
A lot of people were surprised to see you show up in so many music videos with underground rappers in Flint and Detroit last year. How did the collaborations start happening? I was reaching out to them, bro. I was just coming to them. I wasnât afraid to show love, and I wanted to work with all of them. So I would just hit them up.
What is it about their music that made you want to work with them? They donât care. They want to have fun. And itâs funny . Theyâre mad fucking lyrical in a weird way. The schemes and the cadences and the flows are so unorthodox. And the style of Michigan beats just forced me into this really weird scheme. Youâll see when this mixtape comes out. I just rap really unorthodox on it. A lot of people wonât like it. A lot of people think itâs offbeat.

Do you think these beats have pushed you to grow as a rapper? Yeah, I learned new schemes and cadences. And I learned to have fun with it. They have fun. They talk about all kinds of crazy shit.Â
Michigan Boy Boat is on the way. What made you want to do a full tape with songs like this? I just wanted to show love. Thatâs it. I just wanted to show love to all of those guys and their talent. And I feel like I rap my best on those types of beats.
You sound really energized lately. I remember a few months ago, you jumped in Cardoâs room on Clubhouse and told everyone how excited you were about a verse you had just written. Yeah. That verse was so fucking crazy. I was sitting on the toilet.
Overall, it seems like youâre having a lot of fun making music right now. Oh, yeah. And Iâm about to drop so much shit, it doesnât make any sense. Iâm definitely having fun.Â
A couple months ago, you dropped âHit Bout Itâ with Kodak Black, which was a crazy moment. What was that experience like? We didnât record it in person, but I did take a trip out there to shoot the video. When I recorded the song, I was on my Detroit shit. What happened was, I posted a snippet on my Instagram. And he was originally supposed to do a verse for âPardon Me.â You know, because he was just pardoned by Donald Trump. Then he was like, âMan, I ainât going to lie. I really want to get on this.â I was super excited, and we made it happen.
In the behind-the-scenes video, it looked like you guys have a tight bond together. Whatâs your relationship like, and how did that all go down? I donât know how or why. It just kinda happened. I hit him when he was in jail, and I wanted to show support and that I was fucking with him. And he would call me every now and then. Weâd chop it up and just talk. I think he really supported that and respected that. And when he got out, it was just love.
Speaking of collaborations, you were just tweeting about Freddie Gibbs assembling the Avengers for his next album. Yeah, I was with him last night. I put him on some Detroit shit. [Laughs.]
How did you guys link up? After I tweeted that, he DMâd me, like, âLetâs link.â And I was out here and I pulled right the fuck up.
What was that session like? I was super excited. Heâs really fire. Heâs like a legend. He was super cool. Heâs like a gangster. He was super dope, and heâs older. The session was really chill. I didnât stay long, unfortunately, because I had to go to a session with Mac DeMarco, so I did the song and left. But it was dope as fuck. Heâs funny as shit.
You recently tweeted , âI be sittin back watching yâall assumptions on situations and yâall be so off. The internet just be making up shit.â Do you think people have misconceptions about you at this point? What do people get wrong? Yeah, [some people] think Iâm gay as fuck. But I have a beautiful girlfriend. And before her, I had plenty of bitches. You know? So thatâs a misconception. But I donât give a fuck.
Youâve been writing songs for other artists a little lately, like âAct Upâ for City Girls, which I think opened some peopleâs minds to how talented you really are. Is that part of the appeal? I love gaining my respect.Â
As a songwriter for other artists, you have to put yourself in someone elseâs point of view, and youâve pulled it off really well so far. Why do you think itâs come naturally for you? Honestly, I was just bored, bro. One day I was in the studio, bored as fuck. And I was like, âLet me see if I can do this.â I did it.
Is that something you want to do more? Iâve done it a few times. Iâve done it. I stopped speaking on it.
I see. I was going to ask if youâd explore that more and ever write songs for pop artists or anything. Yeah, Iâve done some shit. I donât want to get into it, but Iâve done some shit.
{ "id": 133906885 } âJust listen to the f*cking bars because I promise Iâm rapping my f*cking a** off.â
I know youâve been in the studio with Taz Taylor and the Internet Money guys. Can you talk about that? Weâre doing an album. Iâm about to go see Taz right now. Heâs a fucking king. Heâs a fucking GOAT. I have respect for him, 100%.
What have the sessions been like so far? Iâve been in LA three days, and weâve already made 24 songs. Weâre working hard, bro. Itâs fun. Itâs melodic. Itâs fully melodic.
Oh, shit. So a totally different sound from this next Michigan Boy Boat project⊠Yeah, I got projects, man. Iâve got my project with Internet Money. Iâm doing my project with Lil Tecca. I got my project with Working On Dying. And then Iâll start my album fourth quarter of the year.
So thereâs lots of shit going on. Iâm dropping a shit ton this year.
What made you want to make a bunch of different projects that show all your different styles, instead of just holding off and doing one big album? It didnât start off that way. It honestly started off with me just fucking with all these guys that I fuck with. And they all love me for different things. Taz, he wanted to bring out my melodic side. You know, with Working On Dying, itâs just all types of heat.
Before you go, I wanted to ask about cryptocurrency. You created your YachtyCoin and then made an NFT. And I know you were an early investor in Dogecoin and SafeMoon and all this shit. How did you get into all of this? Well, my manager put me onto the whole YachtyCoin thing. This year and last year, I just took it and ran with it.
There are stories of people who invested early making ridiculous amounts of money. I know you were early, too. Have you seen crazy profits already? Oh, yeah. Ohhhh yeah . Mm-hmm.Â
What should people know before they press play on Michigan Boy Boat when it drops? Just listen to the fucking bars because I promise Iâm rapping my fucking ass off.

Lil Yachtyâs ‘Michigan Boy Boat’ Pays Tribute to the Hottest Rap Scene in the Country
By Danny Schwartz
Danny Schwartz
There is no regional music scene that has flourished the past two years like Michigan rap. And there is no bigger fan of Michigan rap than Lil Yachty . During this period, Yachty has spent a disproportionate amount of time hanging out in the recording studios and gas station parking lots of Detroit and Flint, ingratiating himself amongst the state’s premier street rappers and doing as the locals do — acting playful and dead-serious at the same time, rapping loose on fast beats, forgoing hooks, and stringing together verses out of darkly funny one-liners. Yachty has become a staple of Michigan posse cuts, appearing on tracks like “Flintana” and “Run Down” ; on “Royal Rumble,” from February, Flint bruiser RMC Mike proclaimed, “Me, Yachty, [Louie] Ray, [Krispy Life] Kidd, and Rio the Fab Five,” thus consecrating Lil Boat forever in Michigan lore.
Yachty’s love affair with Michigan rap culminates with Michigan Boy Boat , a 14-track mixtape that features a dozen-odd Michigan rappers, including Sada Baby, Tee Grizzley, Rio Da Yung OG, and YN Jay. Aside from the excellent “G.I. Joe,” an upbeat riff on Lil Boat 3 standout “Split,” the mixtape fully embraces the Michigan aesthetic. (And despite dropping five days ago, it’s not even Yachty’s most recent Michigan collab.) Michigan Boy Boat primarily succeeds as a celebration of Yachty’s passion for Michigan rap and the long-distance bromance and musical chemistry that he’s developed with his Midwestern counterparts. He fits naturally in this scene in part because the imperative to incorporate a heavy dose of humor gives him the opportunity to evolve his whimsical origins as the “King of the Teens.”
Yachty is a great ambassador for Michigan rap, but as Michigan Boy Boat illustrates, he’s far from the best practitioner of the style. He is the protagonist of the mixtape, but he isn’t its anchor. Solo joints “Final Form” and “Concrete Goonies” and the Swae Lee collab “Never Did Coke” feel unmoored without the grounding presence of a Michigander. At the same time, other tracks feel like the JV team going up against the varsity in an intrasquad scrimmage. Sada Baby outraps Yachty on “SB 2021,” a battle of libidos, but then again, whomst amongst us matches up well against Sada’s swashbuckling charm and knowledge of global cuisine (“ Brazilian bitch gon’ eat the dick like feijoada”). As the song ends, Yachty sounds distracted and hurried, as though the studio manager is urging him to leave the booth and wrap up his session. Similarly, on “Ghetto Boy Shit,” Yachty pales in comparison to RMC Mike’s burly charisma. To flow outside the beat is to superimpose a pocket, and on this track, Yachty fails to develop one.
Editorâs picks
Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.
The most exciting moments on Michigan Boy Boat come when Yachty fades to the middle ground and becomes just another one of the boys circled up in a cypher. On “Plastic,” he begins and ends his verse with a nod to Icewear Vezzo, rapping “ the way that Vezzo drive his Wraith, could tell he ain’t rent it” before seamlessly handing Vezzo the mic. Mixtape closer “This That One” feels like an old-school jazz cutting contest — six rappers hurtling forward together at breakneck speed, each one trying to sound more depraved than his counterparts. In this high-speed, communal environment, Yachty sounds at home.

The Best of Rap This Week: Lil Yachty Finds His Calling and More
By Alphonse Pierre
Pitchforkâs weekly rap column covers songs, mixtapes, albums, Instagram freestyles, memes, dances, weird tweets, fashion trends â and anything else that catches our attention in the world of hip-hop.
I havenât cared about Lil Yachtyâs rapping since his debut mixtape, 2016âs Lil Boat . Following that breakthrough moment, the Atlanta rapper spent years trying to become a chart-topping pop star. But he has finally realized that was never the right path. Lil Boat 3 , his May album, is the best thing heâs made since 2016. Itâs simple: Just Yachty and his famous friends rapping and harmonizing mostly over colorful Earl on the Beat production. (My personal favorite is â Split/Whole Time .â) But Yachtyâs greatest accomplishment of the year actually hasnât been his solo musicâitâs been his ability to strengthen the bridge between Atlanta and two fast-emerging street rap scenes.
Since his 2017 Tee Grizzley collaboration â From the D to the A ,â Yachty has been on a mission to connect Detroit and Atlanta. This year, he doubled down on that goal, releasing two tracks with Detroitâs Sada Baby : the vicious back-and-forth â SB5 ,â and â Kourtside ,â a song on Sada Babyâs Bartier Bounty 2 that finds the pair riding a fiery RJ Lamont instrumental.
Yachty has even branched out and joined up with an even smaller scene popping up in Flint, Michigan. This week, he released âFlintana,â a classic Michigan-style rap song and music video filmed in Atlanta, accompanied by three rising Flint rappers (YN Jay, Louie Ray, and RMC Mike). Yachtyâs attempts to keep pace and match punchlines with the Flint trio bring out the best in his rapping. And heâs helping them out, too: His presence is bringing more eyes to one of the hottest cities in hip-hop. Yachty has found a sweet spot.
Rio Da Yung OG
A drive from Flint, Michigan to Detroit will take you about an hour, so itâs no surprise that Flintâs current scene was brought to life through that connection. Peezy, the de facto leader of Team Eastside, one of Detroitâs legendary rap groups, co-signed Rio Da Yung OG last year. Since that moment, Rioâs offensive, punchline-based storytelling has become the blueprint for Flint street rap. Rioâs 2019 breakout song âLegendaryâ is a breathtaking experience: in one anecdote, he steals a video game system from his girlfriendâs son and sells it. But he can be kind of sweet, too. âI rather pay your student loans off, Iâm not a Birkin getter,â he raps on âMovie,â one of Flintâs best rap songs this year.
YN Jay calls himself the âCoochie Scout,â his upcoming mixtapeâs rumored title is Coochie Land, and he renamed his birthday as âCoochie Dayâ on Instagram . The Flint rapper also happens to have one of the hottest rap songs in the Midwest right now, and, of course, itâs called âCoochie.â It goes something like this: âOoh, I hit her from the back, I beat her doonies down/She said I fuck her good, I make her coochie smile.â
Detwan Love
Iâm not sure Detwan Love wants to be a rapper. Take a scroll through his Instagram and he appears to be more set on his career as a streetballer. But when he does rap, his conversational flow is entrancing.
Itâs no coincidence that arguably the two best Flint rap songs of the yearââCoochieâ and âMovieââboth feature Louie Ray. Heâs the perfect complement to the larger-than-life personalities that are breaking out in the scene, as his casual demeanor makes his punchlines sound even more wicked.

In your early 20s, every moment in a relationship feels life-changing, whether it be the first or hundredth time youâve held hands or the tears you didnât even realize you were capable of shedding. On âAbout Love at 21,â a cut from Liv.e âs breakout album Couldnât Wait to Tell You⊠, the Dallas-raised, Los Angeles-based singer perfectly captures that feeling. She longs for the moments in a relationship that may seem inconsequential at the time, but you really appreciate in retrospect.
Charisma can be hard to find in drill, since the subgenre relies on too-cool posturing. What made Brooklyn rappers like Pop Smoke and Fivio Foreign rise above the rest was their ability to splash goofiness onto bleak scenarios, and thatâs what Ivorian Doll has going for her, too. The London rapperâs new single âBody Bagâ is a cold standard UK drill rap song brought to life with a great music video. A heartless verse like, âI donât fuck around with no dickhead gyal who talk a bag of shit ponâ road/Walkingâ âround in yourâ big drip but I heard thatâ shitâs on loan,â becomes extra memorable when you watch her spit from inside a lifesized Barbie-style box, surrounded by disemebered doll parts. (The Nicki Minaj comparisons will be inevitable.) Regardless of which drill scene you preferâChicago, Brooklyn, or LondonâIvorian Doll deserves to be in the conversation.
One of the best beats on Westside Gunn âs Pray for Paris is âVersace.â The drums are soft and a pair of vocal samples fight each other until they ultimately end up intertwined. Similarly, on Tha God Fahim and Mach-Hommy âs new single (which was pulled from the internet) âVersace Church Van,â itâs almost as if the two emcees are kicking their verses a capella with only a chopped-up soul sample to fill the empty space. Both âVersaceâ and âVersace Church Vanâ are produced by Jay Versace , a semi-retired internet comedian, YouTube personality, and Vine star who is currently making looped beats that would make crate-diggers of the past smile.
Like many, my first introduction to the 22-year-old Jay Versace was through video clips posted from his Pleasantville, New Jersey crib. Typically they were short comedic skits, but the ones I came across the most often were of Versace in a wig, animatedly lip-syncing R&B and soul classics like Patti LaBelleâs âIf Only You Knew.â Years later, the warmth of Versaceâs production makes sense: his musical taste was being communicated even when he was a comedian. Like Versaceâs mentor Knxwledge, Versaceâs beats are not just rudimentary flips. Theyâre rich but subtle, a skill that has made them appeal to Westside Gunn, Fahim, Mach, and very soon to be many more.
Cashcache makes music for atmospheric fantasiesâthe rising producerâs beats could soundtrack the happy ending of a Disney princess movie. But for now, Cash only works with BoofPaxkMooky and a handful of other close SoundCloud collaborators. On Garden, the newest mixtape from the rapper/producer duo, Cashâs bubbly production drowns Boofâs choppy flow in sweetness. This can be heard on âLettuce,â where Boof cooly delivers simple but catchy lyrics over a twinkling Cash instrumental. It sounds like it could play out of a mobile hanging above a babyâs crib, and itâs hard not to smile when you hear it.
Melvoni has the best voice of all the New York rappers who sing about trauma. In another era, the Brooklyn rapper would have probably been the lead of an R&B boy band. But itâs not 2005, therefore Melvoni wails his melancholy lyrics alone, accompanied only by gloomy pianos. âI look in the mirror with my eyes closed/I donât like the shit I see when they open up,â he sings on âOh My,â a song that finds him reflecting on pain he canât seem to overcome. It sounds gut-wrenching coming out of a voice this sweet.
âPROTEKT ALL QUEENSâ is the message written at the bottom of the Bandcamp page for Knxwledgeâs new mixtape, WT.PRT.16 . The mixtape is a tribute to women in hip-hop, on which the prolific L.A. beatmaker uses his signature loops to reimagine songs and freestyles. Under Knxâs direction, Flo Milli âs âIn the Partyâ sounds like itâs being performed at halftime of a college football game alongside a marching band. Kash Doll âs lively âIce Me Outâ is chilled, with a funky bassline that sounds like itâs the final song of the night at a cigar smoke-filled jazz club. He even goes back in time, lacing a Brooklyn woman most infamous for saying âFuck ISISâ with a grimy New York City-style beat. This is essential Knx.
(Note: There will be no Ones or weekly column next week. Iâm taking the week off to immerse myself in the Lil Keed album.)

Michigan Boy Boat
If you let rap classicists tell it, Lil Yachty's slurred melodies and occasional flippancy betrayed a lack of reverence for the culture. But that was always more about traditionalism than rap bona fides. His malleability is ample evidence of hip-hop connoisseurship. Whether he was adopting the triple-time flow alongside Offset and Lil Baby, or flaunting a Drakeo the Rulerâesque cadence alongside Remble, Lil Boat frequently turned his own songs into tributes to regional styles and sounds. Michigan Boy Boat is the boldest example. Released in 2021, the album sees Yachty work alongside artists and producers from Detroit and Flint, MI, some of the most innovative stylists of the 2010s. Over the course of 14 songs, Yachty oscillates between production and rap styles that embody the best the state has to offer. He sounds at home whether sliding across frenetic piano or bouncy synths, and he has a knack for absorbing the stylistic tics of his collaborators. For "Final Form," he cruises a Helluva production for a flex exhibition; it's not hard to imagine Detroit luminaries 42 Dugg and Tee Grizzley lacing the track with more outward flashes of machismo. Grizzley himself joins Yachty for "Dynamic Duo," another Helluva-produced track that evokes the energy of modern D-Town. Accosting ominously rumbling keys with BabyTron on "Hybrid," Yachty adopts the Tron's descending deadpan while letting loose quippy punchlines. "SB 2021" sees Yachty jump into the more jittery side of Michigan rap, using a rambling rhythm to match both collaborator Sada Baby and the skittering percussion. On "Plastic," he joins forces with Icewear Vezzo and Rio Da Yung Og, his braggadocio capturing their plainspoken authority. It's a chameleonic act built on a level of dexterity that naysayers would say Yachty didn't possess. Pulling from aesthetics from Detroit pioneers across generations, Yachty serves up a regional tribute at the intersection of adaptability and mutual respect.

"No one writes my lyrics EVER" - Kid Cudi dispels rumor Lil Yachty shared songwriting credit for his song Superboy
G rammy Award-winning artist Kid Cudi has come forward to address false claims regarding the songwriting credits for his hit track Superboy .
On May 7, 2024, Cudi replied to a fan on X and unequivocally asserted that he was the sole creative force behind the lyrics of Superboy . However, rumors had suggested that fellow rapper Lil Yachty was involved in the writing process and deserved songwriting credit for the popular song. Kid Cudi is adamant that this is not the case -
"No one writes my lyrics EVER. Every song U have ever heard from me, I wrote," he replied on X.
During discussions on X, a few observers speculated that Kid Cudi's recent statement is a subtle reference to Drake, who has faced ghostwriting allegations. Cudi denied the reference.
Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, known as Kid Cudi, is an American rapper. He is famous for his autobiographical lyrics, describing childhood experiences, loneliness, heartbreak, and spirituality. His major hits include Just What I Am , Cudi Zone , Day N Nite , and Soundtrack 2 My Life .
Kid Cudi dismisses allegations of songwriting collaboration with Lil Yachty
In a candid discussion on X, Cudi's fan tweeted that if Cudi and Jaden's rumored upcoming new album had a Lil Yachty collab, it would be a banger, as he had produced two of Cudi's songs, including Superboy . In response, a fan wrote that he saw Yachty under the writer's credit for Superboy .
Kid Cudi came in to dispel any misinformation surrounding the origins of Superboy and reaffirm his commitment to authenticity in his artistry. Referring to the credits, Cudi suggested the names fans see on the list can be "confusing" and names are of "usually producers" -
"The credits on songs can be confusing when u see all those names, and its usually producers of the song or sample."
On the same day, Cudi tweeted a separate post suggesting he is the sole writer of all 12 albums. He expressed the feeling as "powerful" -
"Its a really powerful feeling knowing I wrote the lyrics on all 12 of my albums."
Under the tweet, a fan humorously suggested that the Erase Me artist is referring to Drake . Kid Cudi then clarified he did not want to diss anyone, but it is a straightforward declaration of factual accuracy following confusion that Lil Yachty wrote his lyrics -
"Man me speakin my truth is not me dissing anyone. Its my truth. Its a fact. This came up cuz someone was talkin like yachty wrote my verse on Superboy. Just wanted to address it and make it 100% clear," Cudi replied.
This instance is not the first time Kid Cudi had to address his association with Drake. In 2022, during an interview with Esquire, Cudi, discussing his relationship with Ye, suggested that he is "not Drake", who can be friends again with someone he had beefed with. Later, he took X to clarify his statement, implying that Drake can be "lil nicer" and that he was not throwing at him -
"Just to be clear, I wasnt tryna throw a shot at Drake. I got love 4 him. My point I was tryna make is that im not so forgiving. Meaning he might be a lil nicer than me in that situation w dude. Thats all. Maybe that came off wrong thru my words. So yea, all good w Drake."
In the tweet earlier this week, the fan referenced Drake in the discussion because many rappers, including Kendrick Lamar , have accused Drake of ghostwriting and using AI in his lyrics. In 2015, Meek Mill first alleged that Drake used a ghostwriter to pen his verse in their collaboration R.I.C.O .
Also, most recently, on April 15, 2024, Rick Ross accused Lil Yachty of writing for Drake . The allegations came after when an early version of Drake's song Her Loss, alternatively titled Jumbotron Shit Poppin , recorded by Lil Yachty, surfaced online without authorization. Ross took to his Instagram and called Yachty, Drake's "pen" -
"Yacht, Put ya phone on silent lil bro. #BBLDRIZZY CALLING AGAIN. YACHT AKA THE PEN."
Disputes often arise in the hip-hop industry, yet Kid Cudi has stated that he does not disparage anyone in his tweets.
After falling at the Coachella festival and breaking his foot, Kid Cudi has postponed his INSANO World Tour until further notice.

Elsewhere, Lil Yachty also weighed in on the battle and addressed Kendrick bringing up his name “Euphoria.” While Yachty has historically described Drake as his “best friend,” he insisted that he “loves” both rappers. He also asserted that he wanted to stay out of the battle. “So many people kept calling me with excitement for my name being used,” he began. “I didn’t want anything to do with it. I got a ton of respect for BOTH of these guys… I [already] knew my name was mentioned before it came out, I had gotten word.”
