Big-bucks Manhattan hedge-fund chief Jay Goldman gave his unlicensed son the keys to the family Land Rover, and the kid promptly crashed it into a tree — leaving a pal paralyzed after a post-Hurricane Sandy joyride, a lawsuit claims.

Alejandro Bocija Nova, 15, of Spain, sustained “severe and permanent personal injuries, including quadriplegia,” when pal Asher Cole Goldman, 16, who did not have a driver’s license, took the SUV onto the darkened, rain-slicked streets of East Williston, LI, on Oct. 31 at about 3 a.m., the Manhattan Supreme Court suit alleges.

The suit faults Jay Goldman for letting his son drive in dangerous conditions. “Most of the street lights were not operable” and the “roads were wet and slick,” court papers claim.

Asher careened off a road and into a tree, the suit says.

“The father should have never allowed this to happen,” fumed Nova’s attorney, Howard Hershenhorn.

Asher, a student at The Wheatley School, was driving a cousin and Nova home from Jay Goldman’s generator-powered Long Island estate when the accident took place.

Both Asher and his cousin, who were in the front seat where air bags deployed upon impact, walked away virtually unharmed, Hershenhorn said. He claims his client was wearing a seat belt.

“It’s horrible,” Hershenhorn said of Nova, who’s undergoing rehab at a New Jersey facility. “He has no function below his neck. He has minimal, minimal movement of the arms.”

Hershenhorn said an extensive search of DMV files returned no evidence that Asher had even a learner’s permit. A police probe is ongoing, the lawyer added.

Nova, an avid soccer player, was in the United States for a study-abroad program at Saint Mary’s HS in Manhasset.

According to suit, Asher’s dad — who runs a $145 million hedge fund and owns a $7 million Central Park West apartment and a $6.3 million estate in Old Westbury, LI — often let Asher “drive others to and from school, and on the day of the tragic accident inappropriately left the keys to the subject motor vehicle accessible to his son.”

Nova and his parents are seeking unspecified damages.

Jay Goldman has had his share of headaches. The feds slapped him with $21,000 tax lien, and his firm, J. Goldman & Co., got caught up in massive SEC insider trading probe of SAC Capital Advisors as investigators tried to learn if information was leaked to the hedge fund.

The Goldmans did not return calls for comment, and Jay Goldman’s lawyer, Eric Franz, said he couldn’t comment.

Investment manager pays $8M for Continuum condo in South Beach

Jay G. Goldman bought the waterfront unit for $3,149 psf

A New York investment manager bought a condo in the Continuum South Beach for $7.9 million, signaling the growing trend of wealthy Northeasterners buying luxury real estate in South Florida.

Jay G. Goldman, who founded J. Goldman & Co. in 1986, bought the 2,508-square-foot unit 3304 at 100 South Pointe Drive in Miami Beach for $3,149 per square foot. Goldman purchased the condo from attorneys Barry Cooper and Stuart H. Smith.

Prior to founding his own firm, Goldman worked for Drexel Burnham Lambert and Lehman Brothers.

The waterfront condo has three bedroom and three bathrooms.Oren Alexander of Douglas Elliman and Keith Marks of Brown Harris Stevens Miami brokered the deal.

Cooper and Smith, who are married, had paid $1.5 million for the unit in 2009, records show.

Wealthy hedge fund managers and Northeast investors are increasingly buying luxury real estate in South Florida to establish permanent residency in Florida. President Trump’s tax plan limited deductions for state and local income taxes, which has caused wealthy people in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey to move to Florida , where there is no state income tax.

The Continuum, at 50 and 100 South Pointe Drive, was developed by Ian Bruce Eichner’s Continuum Company in the early 2000s.

In 2015, Eichner listed a Continuum penthouse he owned for $50 million. He re-listed it in 2018 for $48 million .

In 2017, Giovanni “John” LiDestri, the CEO of a pasta sauce manufacturer, sold his 2,900-square-foot condo at the luxury development for $10 million, or about $2,170 per square foot. A New York hedge fund manager also sold two units in 2017 on the 34th floor of the south tower for $10 million , or $2,100 per foot.

Jay Aberdoni reveals new 73m superyacht concept Day One

Designer Jay Aberdoni has revealed his latest superyacht concept, the 73.3-metre Day One. 

Aberdoni describes Day One's exterior as having a "dominant minimalism [...] only suited for the nonconformists". The yacht benefits from low bulwarks and an extensive use of glass that provides far-reaching views and "enhances the living experience" onboard.

This focus on lived experience can be seen in the yacht's indoor-outdoor layout, with fully retractable sliding doors allowing easy access to Day One's large al fresco spaces.

Accommodation is for 11 guests across six cabins, including a forward-facing owner's cabin with an "infinity lounge" comprising a dedicated bow terrace, a Jacuzzi and a set of recessed sunbeds.

Leisure highlights include a helipad, a beach club gym and spa, a cinema room and a spacious upper deck terrace. The upper deck is open plan and features a television lounge, bar-style seating and several sofas that are arranged around a dip pool.

Meanwhile, the concealed tender garage can be unfolded to create an extended outdoor terrace when at anchor, with a similar sunbathing setup created by opening the transom. This also allows the lower deck lounge and dining area to become semi-al fresco and benefit from ocean views.

The spaceship-inspired concept has a Jacuzzi only accessible from the owner's cabin, found through a glass hatch in the foredeck.
