Sail the Boat that Sailed the World!

Try something completely different and come sailing on our 50’ catamaran, Alyosha! We offer several trips each day, usually at 1pm, 4pm and sometimes a “Sunset Cruise” in the evening. Occasionally we depart as early as 10am! Alyosha can take up to 12 people and has a men’s and women’s restroom for your use throughout the trip.

All of our sailing adventures can be catered- we have partnered with OC’s best events company, Taste Events, to provide that option. (Catered trips are offered only with a minimum of a 6 person booking). Additionally, feel free to bring beverages of your choice aboard. There are plenty of options to keep things cold. Choose from one of the following sailing experiences:

Ocean Sailing!

See another side of Ocean City from the Atlantic Ocean. This 3 hour cruise will allow you to experience the pure joy of sailing fast on a 50’ catamaran! The incredible views, marine life on display, and fun captain and crew, will make this unforgettable.

Hands On Sailing

Interested in something more “hands on?” Assist the Captain and Crew of Alyosha and learn some of the basics of blue water sailing. Offered only at specific times during the week.

Sunset Cruise

Enjoy an evening on the ocean and watch the sun set on Ocean City from the water. These trips are typically shorter in duration (approx. 90 minutes) but still provide the thrill of sailing in a romantic setting.

Private Charters

Interested in a more intimate experience for just close friends and family? Alyosha is available for private charters at times when she is not scheduled to run trips. (You need to book the whole boat!)

Cruise on Alyosha, a 50ft sailing Catamaran, out into the Atlantic for a beautiful view of the Sunset. If you are worried about your comfort during our longer “Ocean Sailing” and “Hands On” trips, then this shorter trip out into the Atlantic might be something to consider. Generally, the sunset cruise will depart about 45 minutes before sunset and will return at dusk. (about 75-80 minutes) Watch the sun set on Ocean City from the Atlantic Ocean as you glide along the coastline under sail. Lounge on the trampoline or enjoy any of the other excellent seating options that this 50′ boat has available. This is a “must do” experience in Ocean City!

Offered only during a full moon on 6 selective nights throughout the summer! This is a chance to sail the Atlantic under moon light as the sailors have been doing for centuries! You will not believe how different of an experience this can be. Trips last 2 hours later in the evening.

Join us for a hands on sailing adventure that will include some very basic lessons on the basics of sailing. Captain Steve Butz has over 35 years of sailing experience and recently completed a circumnavigation on Alyosha. He has logged over 40,000 nautical miles on the boat. Expect to participate in raising, lowering and adjusting the sails as Alyosha gracefully glides under wind power! No question is off limits as Steve is happy to pursue whatever topics interest sailors looking to boost their knowledge or stoke the interest of newbys to the sport. This trip- which is our longest experience at 3 1/2 hours- is for those wanting more than just a ride in the Atlantic Ocean. You will leave with a deeper appreciation of the sport of sailing and the physics behind it.

Throughout the summer there are occasionally events that can best seen from the water, including the Ocean City Air Show, 4th of July fireworks, and select music concerts. There is also a chance to accompany the Captain as Alyosha transits between Baltimore and Ocean City.

• We will not depart in unsafe weather conditions. Should the Captain assess the weather and determine that conditions are unsafe, the tour may be postponed or cancelled. Every effort will be made to reschedule your tour during your stay. If a trip or rental is cancelled by the tour operator for any reason and you cannot reschedule, you will be refunded the full amount of the tour.
• Every effort will be made to run tours, as advertised. Should the tour operator have to amend or alter your tour due extraneous circumstances tickets remain non-refundable on tours taken.

DO YOU PROVIDE PARKING?

No, we do not provide parking at any of our check in locations, but you can use street parking, pay to park lots or parking garages.

IF I HAVE PAID FOR MY TICKETS, WHY DO I STILL NEED TO CHECK IN?

It is necessary for us to collect your paid in full voucher and give you a boarding pass. This helps us maintain an accurate count for the coast guard.

DO YOU HAVE LIFE JACKETS FOR CHILDREN?

Life jackets are on board for everyone in case of emergency.

CAN MY CHILD WHO IS UNDER 18 YEARS OLD GO ON A TRIP BY THEMSELVES?

Children 15 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Children 16-18 may go on a Fury Sunset Sail unaccompanied, but only if they have a valid photo ID.

ARE THERE PLACES TO GET OUT OF THE SUN?

The sailing catamarans have a spacious covered area that can accommodate many guests.

WHAT BAND WILL BE PLAYING AND WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO THEY PLAY?

The band is dependent on the day. The music is an eclectic mix of songs and styles. It is a wide range of popular cover songs. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

CAN WE DANCE ON THIS TRIP?

Yes, dancing is encouraged! There is a small dance floor in front of the band!

DO YOU SERVE A FULL DINNER?

We serve a seasonal selection of hot and cold appetizers that include: Conch Fritters, Southwestern Rolls with Dipping Sauce, Fresh Vegetable Platter with Hummus & Ranch, Assorted Cheese Platter and Smoked Fish Dip with Pita Chips.

I AM GLUTEN FREE, WHAT FOOD CAN I EAT ON THE BOAT? CAN YOU PROVIDE SPECIAL MEALS?

Certain trips may have catering included. While it is very difficult for us to accommodate all the different dietary needs of our many guests, usually there will be items that aboard that ALL guests can enjoy and if there is anything special you require, we do allow you to bring your own items aboard (no glass or alcoholic beverages please).

I AM VEGETARIAN, WHAT FOOD CAN I EAT ON THE BOAT? CAN YOU PROVIDE SPECIAL MEALS?

ARE THE DRINKS UNLIMITED?

Yes they are. We serve water, sodas, margaritas, champagne, beer and wine.

WHERE EXACTLY WILL THE BOAT BE TAKING US?

The exact location and route of your sail is dependent upon the wind and marine conditions. Your captain will choose the route that allows for the best view of the sunset. You will most likely sail by Mallory Square, Sunset Key and the Key West Harbor.

IS THE COMMOTION ON THE OCEAN CHILD FRIENDLY?

All of our sunset sail trips are family friendly. The Commotion on the Ocean has a very lively atmosphere. If you would like a more low key excursion, we suggest the Champagne Sunset Cruise or the Glass Bottom Boat Sunset Sail.

WHAT IS YOUR WEATHER POLICY?

We not operate in unsafe weather conditions, but a light rain shower is not a deterrent. The Captain will assess the weather and should the Captain determine that the conditions are unsafe to run the tour, the tour may be postponed or it will be canceled. If a trip is canceled by us for any reason, every effort will be made to reschedule the trip during your stay in Key West. If you are unable to reschedule, you will have the option of receiving a voucher for a future trip or receiving a full refund.

About your guide

U.S Coast Guard Licensed Captain with 35 years experience

Just before dusk, you will board our 1904-styled Friendship sloop. We will depart the dock, hoist the sails and take in the many sights and sounds of San Diego Bay such as the Maritime Museum ships, the Coronado Bridge, various military vessels. Feel free to take the helm and steer the boat, pull some ropes, or just sit back, relax and enjoy the soft breeze, the lapping sounds of the water, and the brilliant colors of the sunset.
