TYSON FURY has shown off the stunning £18,000-a-night superyacht he is holidaying on with his family in Cannes.

The WBC heavyweight champion is enjoying some well-earned downtime following his sensational sixth-round knockout win over Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium last month.

Fury showed off the yacht he is spending time on during his holiday

And he has whisked wife Paris , his children and dad John away to France for a vacation on the incredible vessel .

It features a Jacuzzi, a glorious living room and swanky dining room.

There is also a wonderful view of the French landscape as well as a tasty platter of food for the Gypsy King and guests to enjoy.

Everyone on the yacht seemed to be in buoyant mood as they relaxed in the sunshine.

Fury joked that 'magic would happen' in the master bedroom

Fury is now  officially retired and living up to his promise  of spending more time with  his kids  and enjoying his hard-earned money.

And trainer SugarHill Steward has revealed Fury hung up his gloves after becoming bored with the politics of boxing .

Steward told  Sky Sports : “For him being retired I’m happy because that’s what he wants.

“I know a lot of the retirement has to do with not getting the fights he wants and it’s really mentally challenging to be offered fights and go through negotiations for fights and then for them to fall through at the end.

The fighting family will be able to enjoy some fine dining

“These things happen to many fighters around the world. You wouldn’t expect it to happen on this big a stage but it does happen and it’s something fighters have to deal with.

“We on the outside sometimes don’t understand that. We just say ‘if he gets the fight he’ll come back’, it’s not as easy as being on the outside going through what happens on the inside.

“But it’s the sport he loves so much, and it’s hurting him like that. Those things have to be taken into consideration and respected.”

Tyson Fury was not shying away from splashing the cash at his glorious getaway with his wife Paris on an £18,000 a night superyacht on Tuesday (May 17). The 33-year-old boxing legend and his other half are enjoying the views with their children.

The loved-up couple is proud parents to Venezuela, 12, Prince John James, nine, Prince Tyson Fury II, five, Prince Adonis Amaziah, two, Valencia Amber, four, and baby Athena, who was born in August 2021.

The trip is a world away from a few weeks ago where Tyson and his family spent time in Morecambe Bay , where his sons donned matching ‘Gyspy King’ tracksuit sets to show support for their dad. He referred to himself as ‘blessed’ on Instagram while enjoying the family holiday.

Tyson looked in great spirits as his adoring fans clambered for selfies as he hopped off the luxurious vessel. The champion boxer happily obliged as he was seen playfully mimicking a punch with his hand while smiling for the camera alongside a fan.

Dressed in a simple white top and blue shorts combo, Tyson looked excited to take on the rest of the day at the Cannes Film Festival with his family.

Tyson Fury looked relaxed as he enjoys his holiday

The boxer is now settling back into family life after securing a victory over Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium last month. Tyson and Paris have not been shy in documenting their much-needed sun-drenched getaway.

In one image posted earlier this week, Paris could be seen enjoying the sunshine as she smiled at the camera sipping a glass of wine and dipped her toes into the jacuzzi. In another video, Tyson gathered his family together for a sit-down meal before posing for a selfie with his wife of 14 years.

The couple first met when they were teenagers and got married in 2008. They follow the Traveller tradition, and Paris recently spoke to Fabulous about the pair's decision to take their daughter out of school.

Tyson Fury with adoring fans

She said: "We finish school at primary age, which is the traditional Traveller way. We've just brought the tradition into the 21st century. Venezuela wanted to leave school, and all her friends were leaving. Her tutor is gonna keep her up to date with all of her tests. She will also be having piano lessons."

The couple has been open about wanting to expand their family, with the pair hoping to have at least ten children, as revealed by Paris in her book Love and Fury: The Magic and Mayhem of Life with Tyson.

"Tyson and I had always intended to carry on the great Traveller tradition and have a big family: three children at the very least, we'd say to each other, maybe even ten if we were lucky," she wrote.

Tyson Fury 'retiring' after Dillian Whyte heavyweight title fight: 'I'm done'

Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte will fight at Wembley Stadium on April 23 for the WBC heavyweight championship; both fighters finally signed their contracts for the bout last week after protracted negotiations; Sky customers will be able to buy the BT Box Office fight through Sky

Tyson Fury has suggested he will retire on "a massive yacht abroad" after his heavyweight title clash with Dillian Whyte.

The British duo narrowly beat a deadline last week to sign their contracts for the highly anticipated bout at Wembley on April 23, live on BT Box Office, which will see Fury fight in England for the first time since 2018.

Fury, 33, was then expected to face the winner of Anthony Joshua's rematch with Oleksandr Usyk later this year.

But on Tuesday, Fury said: "This is the final fight of my career, I'm retiring after this, $150m in the bank, healthy, young, I'm gonna buy a massive yacht abroad. I'm retiring, I'm out, this is my final fight, I'm done."

Fury was speaking at a press conference to launch the fight with Whyte, who opted to remain at his training camp in Portugal.

"He has definitely shown a white flag today," Fury said, after facing the media alone. "All this social media stuff, 'I'm not promoting the fight, I'm not getting involved in mind games.'

Tyson Fury

"He's given me that much more confidence it's unbelievable.

"He's terrified. He's definitely showing the white flag in my estimation of this fight.

"The way he's going on about it, saying he doesn't want to go face-to-face, of course he doesn't, because he'll see that fire in my eyes and he'll think, 'I'm getting smashed to bits'.

"That's what it is, it's fear, it's terror. It's all of the above and I don't blame him for not being here today."

'Whyte will try to chin me'

The Brixton man secured his WBC mandatory title shot after knocking out Alexander Povetkin in a rematch last March, while Fury retained his WBC belt with an 11th-round knockout of Deontay Wilder in October.

Fury acknowledged the danger Whyte will pose in the ring, but insists he will use the opportunity to showcase his talents.

"I'm looking to show the people and the boxing fraternity how good I really am, and what better opponent to do it against than a man who's been calling for the fight for 352 years," Fury said.

gitana yacht tyson fury

"He finally gets his shot on the biggest stage, against the biggest champion, on the biggest night. I will not fail, I'm just going to show you how great I really am.

"I fought some tasty competitors over the years. I know Dillian Whyte, we go back a long way. We go back to like 2012. He's a tough guy, he's a good, game fighter. He will bring what he can and he will try and chin me, that's a fact.

"He's definitely up there with the top 10 fights I've had, but we'll all find out on the night. I could say he could be No 2 or 22, but if he doesn't perform on the night then he'll never get the credit for it, or if I demolish him one round he'll never get any credit, but if it's a good fight then he'll definitely get his credit."

'Whyte similar to Chisora | I can handle that style'

One of few mutual opponents for the pair during their careers has been fellow Brit Derek Chisora, who both have beaten on two separate occasions.

The knockout shot

Fury says he sees similarities between Whyte and Chisora, who shared highly competitive encounters in 2016 and 2018, which adds to his confidence ahead of the bout.

"I think they're both pretty similar," Fury said. "They had two good fights together.

"It was nip and tuck in the first, I actually thought Derek nicked the fight by a few rounds. The second fight was going Derek's way as well, and he obviously got chinned late.

"Very, very close competitive fights. I think they're very similar in stature, weight, and in style, and I've handled that style plenty before."

Sky customers will be able to buy the fight between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte on BT Box Office through Sky.

Tyson Fury has shown off the £18,000 a night super yacht he’s currently holidaying on with his family.

The boxing champion, 33, is currently on holiday in Cannes with wife Paris Fury and their six children as well as Tyson’s father John and a few family friends.

Thanks to the boxer’s massive success in the sport, he’s had no trouble affording the pricey holiday for his family on the yacht, which includes a hot tub, living room, dining room and bedrooms for all guests on board, as well as staff.

Posting a series of photos and videos to his Instagram feed, Tyson referred to the boat as “150ft of pure luxury” as he took fans for a tour around the vessel.

Tyson’s wife Paris, 32, could be seen enjoying the sunshine as she dipped her toes into the jacuzzi, while in another shot she could be seen with a glass of wine as she smiled at the camera.

Tyson posed for a selfie with wife Paris as well as his dad John.

Also enjoying the sunshine were the couple’s children Venezuela, 12, Prince John James, nine, Prince Tyson Fury II, five, Prince Adonis Amaziah, two, Valencia Amber, four, and baby Athena, who was born in August 2021.

Tyson showed off the luxury bedroom on the super yacht

Paris and Tyson were previously in the south of France, where they enjoyed meals and swimming sessions in the sunshine before getting aboard the yacht to explore the coastline.

Tyson showed off his and his wife’s fashionable side as he captioned a series of snaps: “meanwhile the Gypsyking & Queen continue to take over the Cote d'Azur enjoying the sun & french cuisine. @parisfury1 #getuptheremyboy.”

The couple looked stylish with Tyson pairing a blue and yellow shirt with white trousers and loafers.

Paris glammed up in a satin halter-neck top with white shorts and wedge heels.

The Fury family enjoyed a dinner on the super yacht in France

He posted a sweet tribute to his bikini clad wife alongside a video showing Paris pause tidying to pass him a beer. Tyson joked: “If Carlsberg made wives.”

The couple first met when they were teenagers and got married in 2008.

They follow the traveller tradition and Paris recently spoke to Fabulous about the pair’s decision to take their daughter out of school: “We finish school at primary age, which is the traditional traveller way.

"We've just brought the tradition into the 21st century. Venezuela wanted to leave school and all her friends were leaving."

Tyson and Paris enjoyed a variety of drinks and food on board

Paris added: "Her tutor is gonna keep her up to date with all of her tests. She will also be having piano lessons."

The couple have been open about wanting to expand their family, with the pair hoping to have at least 10 children , as revealed by Paris in her book Love and Fury: The Magic and Mayhem of Life with Tyson.

"Tyson and I had always intended to carry on the great Traveller tradition and have a big family: three children at the very least, we’d say to each other, maybe even ten if we were lucky,” she wrote.

Tyson Fury retains heavyweight title with TKO of Dillian Whyte, indicates he's ready to retire

gitana yacht tyson fury

LONDON -- Tyson Fury uncorked a brutal right uppercut that ended a rough-and-tumble title defense against Dillian Whyte in a U.K. homecoming before 94,000-plus at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

If you believe the heavyweight champion, it was the final fight of his Hall of Fame career.

Fury, known as "The Gypsy King," set up the fight-ending shot with a jab, one of 143 he threw in the fight. The uppercut immediately crumbled Whyte to the canvas. Whyte, 34, was fighting for the heavyweight title for the first time after he waited more than 1,600 days as WBC's No. 1 contender, and he seemingly used every ounce of strength left to beat the referee's count.

But when Whyte (28-3, 19 KOs) was asked to walk forward to prove his readiness, he tumbled into the ropes and the referee quickly halted the contest with one second remaining in Round 6, possibly signaling the end of Fury's career at 33 years old.

"I've done everything asked of me," Fury, ESPN's No. 5 pound-for-pound boxer, said at the postfight news conference. "I've done more promotion, more interviews than anybody, and I go above and beyond with all these shows I fight on, so I definitely deserve to be able to make a choice where I think it benefits me most.

"I've given 20 years to boxing, amateur and professional. I've had me brains knocked out. I've been put down, I've been rocked, I've been cut. I've had tough fights, I've had draws, I've had wins. I've boxed all over the world. How much blood can you get out of a stone?"

Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) was competing for the first time since an ultraviolent victory over Deontay Wilder in October that was named ESPN's Fight of the Year. In the trilogy battle, Fury floored Wilder once in Round 3 but was dropped twice himself in Round 4.

He concluded their bitter rivalry with another knockdown of Wilder in Round 10, followed by the vicious KO one round later.

At Friday's weigh-in, Fury weighed 264.8 pounds, nearly 13 pounds lighter than he did in October. It was an indication Fury wished to box off the back foot against Whyte rather than use the mauling strategy that worked so well against Wilder.

"I started touching him with an uppercut to the body, and then I just slipped to the side and, bang, beautiful peach," said Fury, whose previous five bouts took place in the U.S. "I was softening him up with the jab. I didn't get involved in a brawl, trading punches like I did against Wilder. I wanted to keep me distance, use me range."

Whyte entered the bout 1-1 against former titleholders, winning a decision over Joseph Parker and losing by TKO to Anthony Joshua.

Against Fury, he was seemingly searching for one haymaker that would end the contest. He found success in spurts when he was able to pin Fury on the ropes. But once Fury moved the action to the center of the ring, Whyte found himself on the end of Fury's sharp combinations.

Fury attacked Whyte's midsection with both hands and often mixed in a jab to the body. The champ's sharp, straight shots broke through Whyte's guard repeatedly, and by Round 3, his right eye was already damaged.

Whyte asserted himself more in Round 4 with an array of roughhouse tactics, and the diminutive referee encountered trouble when he attempted to break them up. Fury and Whyte began to shout at each other with claims they were fouled. The referee sternly warned them, but the words did little to maintain control.

Moments later, Whyte landed a blatant rabbit shot as the referee was attempting to break them, leading to yet another warning. Fury seemed reinvigorated by the tactic and began to fire more combinations punctuated by a hook thrown from both orthodox and southpaw.

"He tried to make it rough, fair play to him," said Fury, who was making his inaugural title defense in the U.K., after he first won the championship against Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. "He was trying to handle me there.

"He was trying to wrestle with a dinosaur. I'm like a T. rex in there. I'm 6-foot-9, 270 pounds. It's difficult, especially when you're shorter and you're not as quick as well. He tried hitting me with the elbows, head. ... He was using the forearms, trying to elbow me. When you try to cheat in a fight, you always come up second-best."

Whyte, known as "The Body Snatcher," continued to attack Fury's midsection -- 17 of his 29 connects were to the body -- and he snuck in a couple of his patented left hooks to the head, but he was unable to sustain any offense.

The front-foot heavy Whyte, 6-4, 253.25 pounds, continually dangled his left hand and seemingly invited the uppercut that ended the bout. When it finally came, it was clear that all the critics who previously called Fury "pillow-fisted" were silenced for good, if they weren't already after Fury's two knockouts of Wilder.

"SugarHill Steward, he made me a great fighter," said Fury, who has scored three consecutive stoppages since a decision win over Otto Wallin in 2019. "Years ago, used to jib and jab, touch and slide.

"But you've seen me here tonight. ... You've made me the biggest puncher in the heavyweight division, by a mile."

Fury insisted he won't return to the ring, not even for an undisputed heavyweight title fight that lays before him. Oleksandr Usyk is set to defend the division's other three major titles against Anthony Joshua in a July 23 rematch. A potential fight that pits the winner against Fury, particularly if it's Joshua, a fellow Englishman, would be among the richest in all of boxing.

"There's a lot money to be earned, but for me, I come from f--- all, I come from nothing," said Fury, who earned a career-high $33,640,500, the result of a record purse bid won by promoter Frank Warren that included a $4,102,500 win bonus.

Fury added: "It's never been about money to me. I know a lot of people with big money, but none of them are happy. I know money can't make happiness. Not even been about belts for me. Never been about legacies. It's not been about anything but punching a mother----er's face right in on the night. That's all it's ever been about."

Even if Fury retires and keeps the promise he made to his wife, Paris, following the third Wilder fight, it's clear he will remain in the public eye. He discussed a return to WWE and a potential match with Scotland's Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam on July 30 in Nashville.

The following month, WWE will stage its first major event in the U.K. in 30 years with a stadium show in Cardiff, Wales, on Sept. 3.

"Don't rule me out of fighting there," said Fury, whose 2019 run in WWE concluded with a win over Braun Strowman at "Crown Jewel" in Saudi Arabia.

He added: "I got to speak to [WWE chairman] Vince [McMahon] and the boys. I know Drew McIntyre has been saying a lot of things about me. I'd love to be in Cardiff. I enjoyed it last time in Saudi Arabia; it was fantastic. We're going to be in contact and see if we can make SummerSlam a reality."

There's also UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou , who was in the ring with Fury to celebrate Saturday's win.

"Big Francis Ngannou is here today," Fury said. "He's on my hit list in an exhibition fight, however he wants it: in a cage, in a boxing ring, boxing gloves, UFC gloves, we can make it happen. I think everyone wants to see it. He's a monster of a guy, I'm a monster of a guy, so it will be a clash of the titans for sure."

In a nod to Floyd Mayweather's commercial bonanza in a boxing match against Logan Paul, Fury added: "I'm not ruling out exhibitions for sure; get some of that Floyd Mayweather money. I want to have fun. I'm an entertainer. ... It's what I do best."

There's no doubt about that. But fighting? That's surely a close second. Fury is unquestionably the top heavyweight of his generation, an all-time great whose tremendous frame belied his nimble feet. And whose ability to promote a fight is second to none.

"I've fulfilled everything I've ever wanted to fulfill," he said. "I'm going to retire as the second heavyweight in history after Rocky Marciano to retire undefeated. ... [Whyte] didn't fight a world champion, I ain't a world champion; I'm a legend in this game.

"And you can't deny it, I'm the best heavyweight who's ever been. There ain't ever been one who can beat me. Six-foot-9 frame, 270-pound weight, can move like a middleweight and hit like a thunderstorm and can take a punch like anybody else. ... [I have] the heart of a lion, the mindset of the Wizard of Oz.

"I gave everything to you guys, put it on the line every single time. Enough is enough. ... To come back for a big, big fight at home, it's been amazing. I couldn't have topped it off. It's been a fairy-tale few years. It's been absolutely more than I ever dreamed as a kid, and as an adult. ... I'm very happy with me career."

Tyson Fury knocks out Deontay Wilder in stunning world heavyweight boxing title fight

Sport Tyson Fury knocks out Deontay Wilder in stunning world heavyweight boxing title fight

Tyson Fury has beaten Deontay Wilder in a thrilling heavyweight title fight in Las Vegas, Nevada, retaining his WBC heavyweight title.

Key points:

  • Tyson Fury remains undefeated as a professional with a career record of 31-0-1
  • Fury was knocked down twice in the fourth round
  • Deontay Wilder, who refused to acknowledge Fury after the fight, suffered his second career defeat

Fury knocked Wilder out at 1:10 into the 11th round, with a brutal left-right combination after an epic brawl in which both men were dropped, twice, before the knockout.

"It will go down in history as a great fight," Fury said in the ring.

"I'm the WBC champion, the Ring Champion and the lineal champion.

"Don't ever doubt me. When the chips are down, I will deliver."

There can be little doubt that Fury has cemented his status as one of the all-time greats after one of the best fights Las Vegas has ever witnessed, a trilogy fight worthy of recognition as one of the best ever staged.

Wilder had looked incredibly focused all week, barely responding to Fury's energetic taunting at the weigh-in and press conference, remaining calm where, pre-fight, he said: "When I'm calm, I can make the best decisions possible."

Fury though, described the fight as "a pantomime show, like Broadway in Las Vegas", which was born out in the typically theatrical ring-walks that preceded the fight.

Deyontay Wilder wears a red sequined mask, red bandanna and fur cape

Wilder, having delayed his entry, came to the ring wearing a typically ornate costume, while Fury entered dancing and singing along to AC/DC's You shook me all night long, while dressed as a Roman Centurion.

The pair repeatedly jawed at each other while receiving their instructions, a small taste of the bad blood that has fuelled this rivalry, right up the moment the bell rang, and they engaged in a rematch 20 months in the offing.

Wilder — who weighed in at a career-high 107.9 kilograms — came out swinging in the first round, forcing Fury to backtrack and stay away from the vicious right hand that was responsible for his 41 career knockouts.

However Fury — who also came in at a career-high of 125.6kg — landed the first telling blow, knocking the American down with a massive right hand in the third.

Tyson Fury punches Deontay Wilder

Wilder looked out on his feet, but responded in the best possible way, sending Fury to the canvass twice in a brutal, seesawing fourth.

The former champion — who made 10 successful defences in his career as heavyweight champion but had been criticised for being a limited boxer and one-punch specialist — looked sharp, working behind a rangy jab to the body and tested Fury throughout.

Fury was forced to hang on for dear life as Wilder frantically looked for the knockout blow, but adjusted and went back to basics, advancing behind his own stiff jab, doubling up with a powerful right.

"He gave me a real run for my money," Fury said.

"I'm the best on the world and he's the second best."

That helped Fury regain his ascendancy, but he remained wary of Wilder's irrefutable power, despite landing with repeat, concussive blows to the head off a stiff jab and devastating right hook.

The Briton's superior ring-craft and near 20kg weight advantage became increasingly evident as the fight went on, with every clinch sapping Wilder's energy and every one-two combo taking their toll.

It was evident the American was wobbled a number of times before finally going down again in the 10th round, courtesy of another clubbing right.

Deyontay Wilder falls face first to the ground with a man in a blue shirt trying to catch him and Tyson Fury watching on

Improbably, Wilder got up from that shot, but was unable to do so in the 11th, Fury sending Wilder down with another brilliant combination and the referee calling a halt before Wilder had even hit the ground.

Wilder, who listed an extraordinary array of surreal and bizarre excuses after his last defeat , exited the ring quickly, refusing to acknowledge Fury.

"He's got no love for me, Deontay Wilder. You know why? Because I beat him three times," Fury said.

"I'm a sportsman, I went over to him to show some love and respect, but he didn't wanna give it back. That's his problem.

"I will pray for him, so God will soften his heart."

Fury would not immediately be drawn on what his next move would be, but with the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO belts tied up with an Oleksandr Usyk-Anthony Joshua rematch, he may be forced into a mandatory defence of his WBC belt against fellow Brit, Dillian Whyte, should he get past Swede Otto Wallin later this month.

Look back on how all the action unfolded in Las Vegas in our live blog.

OK, I think it's about time we wrapped things up on the live side of the blog today.

All I can say is, wow. I'm still buzzing a little bit from that fight and all that happened.

It was a contest that ebbed and flowed from one side to the next on a whim, two fantastic warriors going toe to toe for 11 brilliant rounds of heavyweight boxing.

I thought their second fight was a good one, but it's been blown out of the water by this stunning encounter.

Where now for Fury? I think Dylian Whyte deserves a chance, having been mandatory for this belt for over 1,200 days now (boxing politics is mad) but he'll need to get past Otto Wallin first.

If not, then surely the winner of the Anthony Joshua - Oleksadr Usyk fight will be the way to go - and won't that be something.

Anyway, thanks for watching/following along with me, it was a real pleasure to be able to bring it to you all.

Fury v Joshua AND Usyk at the same time might be close, but he will smash whichever one of them he faces next -Bryan

Yeah, I think I'm with you.

He's just too good. His boxing IQ is through the roof.

Plus, he weighs 125kgs and is 206cm tall.

Incredible skill set for such an enormous man.

Audience comment by Charlie Cahaly

Thank you for a great blow-by-blow when most of the time we can’t get any information about a big fight. Great job thank you

Where does Fury stand in the all-time list?

Fury is the best heavyweight since Ali , and maybe better . -martin pinnock

He's got to be up there, hasn't he Martin?

He's certainly got the most engaging and arresting persona in the boxing world right now.

He's certainly got the movement, both body and foot movement, to put him down as one of the all time greats.

And today he's shown that he's absolutely got the chin to be classed as the greatest.

Hard to judge different eras, of course, but every superstar needs their foil, and in Deontay Wilder, he's found his.

Wilder walked out the ring without acknowledging Fury

The loser won’t acknowledge Fury. Complete lack of class. Still, he’s probably gone off to find another excuse. Maybe his shorts were too heavy ? -kimbo

Yeah, it's poor form for me too, kimbo.

I guess time will tell about whether or not he will come out with any excuses, but really he shouldn't have to - that was one of the all time great fights and it very much takes two to tango - he played his part in one of the all time great fights.

'Don't ever doubt me': Fury

There is little doubt that it will go down as one of the all time great fights, especially in the heavyweight division.

But Fury says it has to be one of the all time great contests.

"It will go down in history as a great fight," he says. "I'm the WBC champion, the Ring Champion and the lineal champion," he says. "Don't ever doubt me, when the chips are down, I will deliver."

And now, as is customary, he's singing. A version of walking in Memphis with Vegas referenced instead.

You speak about his boxing ability, and we've seen that illustrated time and time again, but he really is sport's greatest showman.

He follows up that piece with a rendition of "Lancashire la la la", which I feel might have been lost on this American crowd...

'I'm made of pig iron and steel': Tyson Fury

gitana yacht tyson fury

The champ is talking in the centre of the ring.

"I'll make it as clean as possible for you," he says before the interview starts. "Like the great John Wayne said, I'm made of pig iron and steel, baby," he says.

He then thanks Jesus.

"I was hurt, Wilder is a tough man, a strong puncher. My Lord and Saviour rose me to my feet to give me glory," he says. "It was a great fight tonight, worthy of any trilogy in world title history."

He's not wrong.

Deontay Wilder has left the ring, without acknowledging Fury.

"He gave me a real run for my money," Fury says. "I'm the best on the world and he's the second best."

He says he's disappointed that Wilder would not acknowledge him.

""He's got no love for me Deontay Wilder. You know why? Because I beat him three times. I'm a sportsman, I went over to him to show some love and respect, but he didn't wanna give it back. That's his problem. "I will pray for him, so God will soften his heart."

Wow, that's a biblical burn.

And still...

gitana yacht tyson fury

Tyson Fury remains the undefeated WBC and lineal heavyweight champion of the world and surely now one of the all time great fighters.

Gitana joined the market following a multi-million-euro refit at her home shipyard, which included a 25-year Lloyd's Class survey, a complete pain job and a complete overhaul of running gear.

The sub-500GT interior of Gitana was designed by John Munford with accommodation for up to 12 guests. There are five cabins in total, including a full-beam master suite on the main deck and four additional guest cabins on the lower deck, comprised of two queen cabins and two twins, each with a Pullman bunk. The master suite is outfitted with a king-sized bed, a study area and an en-suite bathroom with a steam shower and a Jacuzzi that sits beneath a skylight.

Her interior decor follows a Deco-Caribbean motif, according to Northrop & Johnson, and makes use of light carpets, splashes of turquoise blue and madrona burl and anigre wood joinery throughout.

Automatic sliding doors lead from the aft deck through to an open main saloon with lounging aft and a formal dining area forward. Above, a sky lounge offers a second social spot and leads to a large aft deck with al fresco dining for owners looking to cruise in warmer weather. Other highlights on board Gitana include a Jacuzzi, a barbecue grill on the sundeck as well as an enclosed gym with two treadmills, weights and a weight bench.

Gitana can sleep a crew of 10 across five cabins and has been designed to facilitate ease of service. The galley is positioned forward of the interior dining area and benefits from large windows, a central island for food preparation and a large serving pantry with a dumb waiter that connects to the sky lounge above.

Power comes from twin Caterpillar 3508-DITA engines, which provide a top speed of 15 knots and a range of 3,100 nautical miles at 13.5 knots.

Gitana was asking $14,450,000.

Revolutionary Gitana 17 trimaran to foil solo across oceans at 50 knots

  • Elaine Bunting
  • July 20, 2017

The most radical of the new Ultime trimarans, the incredible Gitana 17 is designed to foil at over 50 knots and cross up to 900 miles a day, crewed by just one solo skipper. Elaine Bunting talked to designer Guillaume Verdier at the launch

A revolutionary 100ft fully foiling oceangoing trimaran capable of covering more than 900 miles in a day and sailing at speeds of 50 knots was launched in Lorient this week. Designed by Guillaume Verdier, the foil genius behind the America’s Cup winning Emirates Team New Zealand , Gitana 17 is designed to be sailed solo and to beat the round the world record.

Gitana 17 is the latest of the race boats backed by Baron Benjamin de Rothschild. The 100ft ‘Ultime’ trimaran is the culmination of three years of work by the team and brings together developments from areas as diverse as the Vendée Globe IMOCA 60s, the America’s Cup and the MOD70 trimarans.

This is a beast of a boat and significantly different from others in the growing ‘Ultime’ development class such as François Gabart’s Macif  and Thomas Coville’s Sodebo . For the first time, this is a boat designed around foil performance.

According to the design team, Gitana 17 will be able to foil at speeds of 48-50 knots in 16-25 knots of true wind and seas of 6-8m – typical Atlantic conditions. It could also sail across the Southern Ocean in non-foiling mode at up to 40 knots.

“Foiling is not that [hard] but to do that and be stable in waves is a lot more difficult and this is a first stage to doing that,” explained Guillaume Verdier. “Previously the boats were designed to go offshore and slowly the foils got into that, but we have designed the appendages as a principal [part] and tried to have a platform that goes well with that.

“It makes a boat that is a little heavier because there are more systems to control the foil, more hydraulics and the platform is stiffer in torsion.”

Launched on 17 July from Multiplast, Gitana 17 is the new Ultime class built for Baron Edmond de Rothschild.

The foils on Gitana 17 share some common thinking with those on the America’s Cup boats – the outer float foils are an L-shape. The main daggerboard on the central hull, however, is a shape never seen before on these boats and features a large horizontal component to help with roll control.

The concepts were evolved through 2014 and 2015 on Gitana 15 , the MOD70 now known as Giovanni Soldini’s Maserati . The team fitted one hull with several foil shapes to understand their performance offshore. “One of the issues we had was that it was fairly unstable, rolling-wise, and an elevator on the stern [alone] would not be enough for singlehanded control. So we introduced this element, which is draggy but will help a lot,” explained Verdier.

The T-foil rudders on the outer hulls are an ingenious and complex solution and designed by the Gitana team. They feature elevators to adjust trim and are operated by hydraulic system monitored by electronic software. But they can also kick up if they collide with something in the water, and be raised out of the water.

The windward rudder is very exposed to slamming from waves when reaching, so can be lifted up, locked into the hull and disconnected from the control systems. A large housing that you can see in the photo below protects the rudder and controls.

Verdier says that these rudder foils are “a bit like the AC72 foils; they are auto-stable”.

He explained: “They behave a bit like a helicoil. When the boat raises up in the water it makes more leeway, and when it makes more leeway there is a component of the force that pushes you down. But the difference [with the America’s Cup boats] is that this is a huge foil compared to any other boat in the past.”

The 100ft Gitana 17 is designed to foil trans-ocean solo

According to Verdier, Gitana 17 could one day foil at more than 50 knots. “But when foiling we are limited by cavitation, so if wanted to go above that we’d need to have different profiles and aerodynamic aspects, and structure of the boat. It’s a bit of an unknown territory, but maybe we should be able to do 53 or 54 knots.”

The main aim of the designers, however, is to improve the boat’s average high speed potential, and Verdier says that Gitana 17 could reach 900 miles in 24 hours – the much bigger fully crewed 130ft catamaran Banque Populaire V holds the record of 908 miles. This could be an ultimate record-breaker, though the quiet-spoken French designer hesitates to say so. “I could pick any crazy number,” he smiles. “It’s pretentious to say. We have to wait a little.”
