Comfortina 35 is a 35 ′ 9 ″ / 10.9 m monohull sailboat designed by Thomas Bern and built by Comfortbåtar AB starting in 1994.

SA/D = SA ÷ (D ÷ 64) 2/3

• SA : Sail area in square feet, derived by adding the mainsail area to 100% of the foretriangle area (the lateral area above the deck between the mast and the forestay).
• D : Displacement in pounds.

Ballast / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.

Ballast / Displacement * 100

Displacement / Length Ratio

A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. The lower a boat's ratio is, the less power it takes to drive the boat to its nominal hull speed or beyond. Read more.

D/L = (D ÷ 2240) ÷ (0.01 x LWL)³

• D: Displacement of the boat in pounds.
• LWL: Waterline length in feet

Comfort Ratio

This ratio assess how quickly and abruptly a boat’s hull reacts to waves in a significant seaway, these being the elements of a boat’s motion most likely to cause seasickness. Read more.

Comfort ratio = D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam 1.33 )

• D: Displacement of the boat in pounds
• LOA: Length overall in feet
• Beam: Width of boat at the widest point in feet

This formula attempts to indicate whether a given boat might be too wide and light to readily right itself after being overturned in extreme conditions. Read more.

Basic specs..

The Comfortina 35 is equipped with a fin keel. A boat with a fin keel is more manoeuvrable but has less directional stability than a similar boat with a long keel.

Comfortina 35 : Erste Comfortina aus Deutschland

Im Januar dieses Jahres haben die neuen Eigentümer von Comfort Yachts – Niels Töbke und Chris de la Motte –den Umzug der gesamten Produktion vom schwedischen Arvika nach Freienohl zur neuen Werft SQ bekanntgegeben. Am ehemaligen Dehler-Standort sollen künftig alle aktuellen Comfortina-Modelle (35, 39, 42) gebaut werden.

Das erste Schiff aus deutscher Fertigung, eine Comfortina 35, hat nun vor wenigen Tagen die Hallen in Freienohl verlassen und schwimmt bereits auf der Ostsee. Am kommenden Wochenende (24.–26. Mai) wird Comfort Yachts das neue Boot auf der Hanseboot Ancora Boat Show in der Ancora-Marina in Neustadt am Steg V präsentieren.

Nach einer Bauzeit von nur vier Monaten knallen dieser Tage im Geschäftssitz von Comfort Yachts in Schleswig die Sektkorken. Geschäftsführer Niels Töpke: "Wir wollen uns beim gesamten Team von SQ in Freienohl für die tolle Zusammenarbeit und für den großartigen Einsatz bedanken." Töpke zeigt sich mehr als zufrieden vom Resultat der Kooperation: "Die Qualitäten sind bestens, so wie man es eben von Comfortina gewohnt ist!"

Aber nicht nur der Produktionsstandort ist neu. Gleichzeitig mit der Verlagerung der Produktion hat Comfort Yachts der 35er auch ein ganz neues, modernes Interieur spendiert. Die aktuelle Optik präsentiert sich zeitgemäßer als bisher, mehr helle Flächen ersetzen den typisch skandinavischen Stil aus der schwedischen Produktion (Foto oben). Allerdings sollen die Fans von schiffigen Holzausbauten weiterhin den bisherigen Innenausbau als Variante "Classic" (Foto unten) ordern können. Überhaupt sollen dem Eigner künftig mehr Wahlmöglichkeiten bei der individuellen Gestaltung geboten werden.

Der Preis für beide Ausbauvarianten bleibt indes derselbe. Eine segelklare Comfortina 35 kostet aktuell 210.630 Euro ab Werft Freienohl inklusive 19 Prozent Mehrwertsteuer.
