AL MIRQAB Yacht – Stunning $300 Million Superyacht

He commissioned AL MIRQAB, delivered in 2008 from the German shipyard Kusch Yachts and designed by Winch Design, a UK-based design company.

The AL MIRQAB yacht blazed a trail in yacht building trends at the time of its construction because of the numerous large-scale amenities included in its structure.

AL MIRQAB yacht interior

The AL MIRQAB yacht was designed by Winch Design to reflect a perfect cross between a Bentley and the Starship Enterprise, with its palatial family-orientated interior.

She accommodates 55 crew members and 18 guests.

A wide variety of amenities makes this yacht a trailblazer of design.

There is an internal swimming pool with balconies, a large gym, a sauna, and a hairdressing salon.

A notable feature of AL MIRQAB is the underwater viewing room, forward of the pool.

This yacht feature is a family favorite with its pirate’s theme design.

The deck salon has a terrace feel with fountains and casual seating around the sculpture as a centrepiece.

The exterior was designed by Tim Heywood Design, with permanent cantilevered sun wings.

The helicopter pad is fitted with a refueling station that was a first when it was built.

The aft was developed from other projects with additional entertaining and relaxation spaces which delivers a stately arrival and departure for the yacht’s guests.

The steel hull is paired with underwater lights that were a first when it was built.

The mast that towers above the yacht’s superstructure is shaped like a funnel so that the fumes from the engines do not affect guests.

The family lounge is designed to reflect butterflies with a gentle and relaxing concept.

The construction was executed by Kusch Yachts at their shipyard based in Germany.

The design was developed in 2008 with Peters Werft leading the team.

AL MIRQAB is the biggest yacht Kusch Yachts have built at its impressive length of 133m(436.3 ft).

AL MIRQAB is 133m(436.3 ft) in length, with a 19m(62.3ft) beam. She displaces 9604GT and has a max speed of 23kn with her five diesel-electric Wartsila engines.

Her cruising speed is sustained at 21kn. She is one of the largest superyachts in the world.

The at anchor stabilizers give a significant amount of comfort to the guests during their experience on the yacht. AL MIRQAB yacht has an annual $20 – $30 million running cost.

Built for Middle Eastern Royalty, Al Mirqab is one of the largest and most beautiful yachts on the water.

The magnificent yacht won the coveted ‘Motor Yacht of the Year’ award at The World Superyacht Awards 2009 and won ‘Best Interior Design’ in the motor yacht category for her Andrew Winch-designed interior. Al Mirqab has an aluminium superstructure and a steel hull with a generous beam of 19.5m and a 4.9m draft. She can accommodate up to 60 guests and is capable of carrying up to 60 crew members onboard.

The 133m displacement yacht is capable of an impressive 23 knots flat out, with a cruising speed of 21 knots. She also features ‘at anchor stabilisers’ which work at zero speed, increasing onboard comfort at anchor and on rough waters.

The 133m Mega Yacht AL MIRQAB is one of the biggest motor yachts ever built and was constructed by Peters Schiffbau GmbH with a launch in 2008 under the hull number 681 and the project name 'MAY'. AL MIRQAB superyacht features classical and elegant exterior lines by Tim Heywood Designs, naval architecture by Kusch Yachts and ultra-luxurious interiors by Andrew Winch Designs.

AL MIRQAB yacht was built with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. At 133 metres she has a been of 20 metres, providing her with huge spaces both on the interior as well as exterior. She is equipped with all the imaginable amenities for her Owner and guests to enjoy.

Accommodation aboard the superyacht AL MIRQAB was created in 10 spacious guests suites and two VIP suites for the Owner, hosting 24 a total of 24 people plus the Owners overnight. The suites are extremely luxurious, spacious and elegant. Guests have their own en-suite bathroom at their disposal as well as other amenities and features expected of a yacht of this type.

AL MIRQAB Specifications

Other common amenities include a large cinema, outside bars, the very popular Jacuzzi as well as an inside swimming pool. In addition there is helicopter pad and plenty of spaces for sunbathing, al fresco dining and relaxation on board.

AL MIRQAB is able to reach a maximum speed of 20.3 knots and cruise at a comfortable speed of 18.7 knots.

Riva Yacht is one of the most iconic shipbuilders in the world. With a story originating over 175 years ago with the craftsmanship of Pietro Riva, the yard is now one of the world's oldest and most renowned.

Al Mirqab II measures 35.50 metres in length, with a max draft of 1.85 metres and a beam of 7.08 metres. She has a gross tonnage of 237 tonnes.

Al Mirqab II has a GRP hull with a GRP superstructure.

Al Mirqab II also features naval architecture by Riva Yacht.

Al Mirqab II has a top speed of 28 knots. She is powered by a twin screw propulsion system.

Built with a GRP hull and GRP superstructure, with teak decks, she has impressive speed and great efficiency thanks to her planing hull. Powered by 3 x diesel MTU (16V 4000 M93L) 16-cylinder 4,552hp engines running at 2100rpm, she comfortably cruises at 36 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 40 knots with a range of up to 691 nautical miles from her 40,000 litre fuel tanks at 34 knots. Her low draft of 1.6m/5'3" makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. Her water tanks store around 4,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) ✠ A1, Yachting Service, ✠ AMS classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.
