A Restaurant at the Yacht Club

Located in a privileged location with stunning views over the Bay of Palma, the Restaurant of Club Nàutic Arenal offers a Mediterranean atmosphere and an attractive offer of fish and meat dishes, Mallorca cuisine recipes as well as a complete wine list.

Enjoy its paellas and rice dishes, the calderetas, fresh fish of the day, salads and interesting snack options. A quality daily menu is also served from Monday to Sunday at a reasonable price. Vegan and Gluten-free menus are also available.

The Restaurant has an indoor area with capacity to accommodate up to 200 persons as well as an amazing terrace, overlooking the sea and the harbour, for all kind of celebrations

We are open from the early morning until late at night to offer our guests breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Being based in Mallorca is a real treat for crew who love their food. This Spanish Island has a vibrant gourmet scene that never stops evolving —whether you’re looking for a cosy tapas bar in Palma ’s Old Town, Michelin-starred fine dining by the sea, or a long, lazy lunch on a rustic terrace under the vines.

There are about a thousand places to eat in Mallorca, and the standard of food is generally very high. One of the great joys of days off in Mallorca is just jumping in the crew car and heading off exploring, finding little local gems of restaurants as you go. But there are some restaurants that you’ll regret not trying if you don’t make time for them during your stay on the island.

Here are 10 of the best restaurants in Mallorca that will lock in your memory — even long after you’ve left your yachting days behind.

1. For Beach Bar Bliss: Patiki, Soller.  

Feast on colourful plates of food by the sea at this gorgeous little chiringuito, a laid-back, chic bohemian beach bar at Soller. British chef Grace Berrow relies heavily on the locals, sourcing her seafood and produce from neighbouring farmers and fishing folk and allowing customers into the kitchen to see the magic happen. So grab a table on the deck just metres from the sea and soak it all in—a fabulous choice for a fun crew day off by the sea.

2. For Paella and Sunsets: Restaurante Sa Foradada, Deia.

Considered one of the incredible sunset spots of Europe, Sa Foradada has an eponymous restaurant which has also cornered the market with one of the best paellas on the island. This place has “you’ll remember it” stamped all over it, as you’ll have to either arrive by tender or boat from Port de Soller or by hiking 1 hour down the hill, as there’s no road to the restaurant. But once you’re there, you won’t want to leave as you tuck into a rustic paella feast cooked on the fire in an open-air kitchen and sit on the balcony hanging out over the rocky cliff.

3. For Slow Food in the Village: Ca Na Toneta, Camiari

This restaurant is one of Mallorca’s iconic little gems, a ‘rustic-chic’ restaurant run by two sisters in a little stone house in the tiny village of Camiari. Named after their grandma, the restaurant features organic, local slow food and offers only a 6-course tasting menu. This approach has been phenomenally successful, with Conde Nast naming Ca Na Toneta one of the 207 best restaurants globally as rated by foodie professionals. Inside, it’s a cosy affair of exposed stone and white-cloth tables, or you can take a table on the outdoor terrace under the grapevines.

4. For seafood in a Cliffside Paradise: Ca’s Patró March- Deia

We’re back to Deia for this one (if you could bear to leave in the first place). Like nearby Restaurante Sa Foradada, this restaurant hangs out over the emerald waters, built into the rocks in a seemingly fragile assembly of timber, thatch and cane. There are no white cloth tables, so expect your menu to come in a plastic sleeve folder. But don’t be deceived, for you’re just as likely to run into George Clooney here as the local fisherman. Ca’s Patro March is a lively, wonderful place that has been cemented into Majorcan life and its film history — it recently starred in an episode of The Night Manager.

5. For Affordable Michelin-Starred: Adrian Quetglas, Palma

The Palma dining scene is lucky to have Adrian Quetglas, and any self-respecting ‘foodie’ should run to get a table at this restaurant. The Argentinian-born chef firmly believes that haute cuisine should be for everyone. His mission to democratise fine dining means you can enjoy his Michelin-starred 5-course (lunch) and 7-course (dinner) tasting menus for €55 and €85, respectively. (Add €30-35 for wine pairings.) With stunning plating, creative flavours and an elegant dining room of green velvet chairs and cascading vines, Adrian Quetglas is the perfect date location for those looking to impress.

6. For Traditional Llonguets and Beers in an Atmospheric Setting: Bodega Bellver.

Chances are, if you’ve looked for work in Palma, you’ve already had your fair share of affordable but delicious tapas at the iconic Bar Dia. For this recommendation, we’re also going old-school and heading down into the dark cellar of Bodega Bellver, where time has stood still. Take a stool at an old wooden wine barrel, order an icy beer, and tuck into one of the hot llonguet sandwiches that have made this place stand the test of time.

7. For Traditional Basque Food by Top Chefs: El Txoko de Martín, Palma

The recent trend towards traditional food has seen an explosion in  casa de comidas , a casual, home-style cafe where locals go for the food their mother used to cook — omelettes, stews, and casseroles. 9. For Rustic Mountain Simplicity: The Lamb Restaurant, Alaró

There are certain iconic places that you almost have to visit to ‘earn your stripes’ as a yachtie. The Lamb Restaurant, perched halfway up a mountain on the way to the castle up at Alaró, is iconic. Rustic. Delicious. Not terribly vegetarian-friendly. Don’t expect fancy —this is not what this place is about. The inside is cosy and traditional- all exposed stone, dark timbers, and wooden tools stuck on the walls, while the outside tables with the mountain view have plastic chairs. You won’t care as you tuck into their legendary slow-roasted lamb shoulder or their excellent suckling pig or goat.

Often referred to as ‘the best local food on the island’, this simple, unfussy restaurant has amassed a cult following for its exceptional home-style food using local produce. And it’s extraordinary value for money, with set menus for around 35 euros. Recently visited the Bistrot Restaurant at the Yacht Club with my family during a break in Cala d’Or and had a fantastic meal. The staff were all very friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. There were 5 children in our party who were all very well catered for and loved the kids play rooms. The adults got to relax and enjoy a meal with a beautiful view of the marina while the kids were kept happy and amused. We enjoyed it so much we ended up going back a few days later for the day to use the pool and had some lunch. A must for any family looking for something classy but still more than affordable – highly recommended……….

Glad you enjoyed the Yacht Club, great location but it does not have a good reputation for food. More a wedding venue.

The limited number of members will not be impressed if you and your children are splashing around in the pool. The Yacht Club market them selves as an exclusive 'place to be', not somewhere for a family day out.

I know the British owners well and they would be horrified at the thought.

The Yacht club are very pro actively encouraging day, week and monthly membership, as the place is very quiet, but CP is right its not on the list of quality eateries, the bar prices are on the expensive side for cala Dor.

It does have a lovely terrace bar with great views for pre dinner drinks.

I have my suspicions about the first post, apologies if ime wrong, but Yacht Club staff have posted similar before.

Many thanks for opening a Forum on the Yacht Club and your varied feedback.

First of all let introduce myself. I am Sergio, the General Manager of the Yacht Club. I have been at the Club for 3 years now and I believe during this time, with the fantastic work of my team of dedicated staff, we have succeeded in turning the Club around.

CrazyPom I can see that you are a regular of Cala d’Or and you are obviously very fond of Noa restaurant. I assume you have not visited the Club lately so your comments are just supposition. We are not only operating a successful bar and restaurant, we are also an excellent wedding venue and numbers show this with 40 weddings for this year, 42 already booked for 2013, and 8 for 2014. I’m sure you’ll agree if we were known for average food, we would not be securing these bookings.

The food we provide, combined with our excellent service are second to none and this is show in the shining praise on our Tripadvisor page from wedding couples and visitors alike as well as our Facebook page. The facts are there - a full restaurant every evening speaks for itself.

I have no reason to dispute the fact that you know some members of the Club but at the same time I can assure you that the English owner is very happy his Club is becoming a popular venue for both wedding couples and families enjoying a day membership alike.

I would appreciate you not continuing to mention, once again supposition, on things you might have heard in “town”… Not being a member or part of the management team of the Club means you are unable to justify your comments like “people would be horrified of….”.

To the others who have commented, I will reiterate what I said earlier, with 40 weddings this year, 42 already booked for 2013, and 8 for 2014 and a full restaurant every evening my staff don’t have the time or the necessity to write “fake” comments. We are all looking to better the tourism in Cala d’Or and the Yacht Club is not of the mindset to criticise other local business.

The doors to the Yacht Club are open to you all, come along and see what we have to offer this season………..and in the meantime, I will continue to strive to ensure our food and service standards are maintained to the highest.

My wife and a girl friend called in twice last week 1st time for a pre dinner drink Vod & Orange & G & T €15.

2nd visit shared 5 tapas Same drinks + a small water €65 she said service and food was excellent with large portions.

Our selection of the eateries with the most majestic Mediterranean views this summer

If you're flying to Mallorca during the day, your first experience of dining with incredible views might well be on the plane while you dig into a packet of peanuts. Personally, I can't help feeling a thrill when those majestic cliffs of Cap de Formentor come into view.

Of course, it doesn't need to stop there and, fortunately, you don't need to be thousands of metres up in the sky to enjoy stunning vistas. Mallorca is full of them. Here are some recommendations where feasting on the view is a must.

1. Sa Foradada – near Deià

If you are after a delicious paella served with memorable sea views, then Sa Foradada is an absolute must. On a cliffside overlooking the glistening sea of the west coast of the island, its location makes it a prime spot for sunset watching. You can’t drive here, so will either have to walk down the mountain via the Son Marroig estate , or visit by boat and head up the steps from the water. It’s a no-frills kind of place famed for its tasty paellas cooked over an old-fashioned wood-fired grill.

2. Ca's Patro March – Cala Deià

This restaurant has been firmly placed on the map thanks to the BBC drama ‘ The Night Manager ’ and that famous kidnapping scene. Ca's Patro March is in a paradise setting, sitting up amongst the rocks of Cala Deià , overlooking some of Mallorca’s most crystalline turquoise waters. Here is seafood heaven for fish lovers but, if you prefer your food from land-based sources, there are some good meat and vegetarian dishes too. Be warned, there is often a queue for tables even if you have booked but you can easily pass the time soaking up the spectacular surroundings down in the cove while you wait. You can enjoy both lunch and dinner here in the summer months, however, being on the west coast, it’s particularly special during the last golden hour of the day.

3. Cassai Beach House – Colonia de Sant Jordi

If you find yourself in the south-east of Mallorca, then a trip to Colonia de Sant Jordi should be on your agenda. Cassai Beach House is a converted old fisherman’s house transformed into a modern and avant-garde venue which makes the most of its seaside setting. Traditional dishes with a modern twist make a regular appearance on the menu including soups, sausages, rice, meat, and fish. You can dine whilst enjoying the wonderful view over the water all the way over to the island of Cabrera on a clear day.

4. Mhares Sea Club – Puig de Ros

This beach club at the foot of a cliff near Llucmajor feels deliciously exclusive. Located just within a 15-minute drive south of the capital, its spacious terrace is on the front line of the sea and enjoys stunning views of the Bay of Palma , with the rugged rock face to the side of the restaurant enhancing the feeling of escape and seclusion. The beach club offers a vision of idyllic summer living with terracotta tiles, white Balinese beds and lounge areas. At its Tamarell Restaurant you can tuck into Mediterranean dishes with a twist, like 'Mallorcan style fish ravioli with prawn and saffron sauce' or 'Mixed seafood and meat paella'. In the evening, their Bauxa terrace bar serves incredible cocktails while the sun sets offering a breathtaking spectacle.

5. Illeta – Camp de Mar

If the front line of the seaside isn't close enough, then how about enjoying the sea views from within the sea? You might recognise Illeta Restaurant , which sits on a small rock just off Camp de Mar Beach from the recent Netflix series 'White Lines'. An idyllic location where you can immerse yourself in the view and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze. Open for both lunch and supper, the restaurant specialises in seafood. Be sure to book ahead as the attractive location and its easy access means it's a very popular stop.

6. Purobeach – Illetas

Purobeach Illetas is the place to be seen this summer. Located between Palma and Puerto Portals, the prestigious beach club is within easy access of many resorts along the south-west coast of Mallorca. The all-white restaurant offers a glamorous setting alongside some of the best panoramic views of the stunning waters of Illetas. The menu has many international flavours but the ‘Asian beef salad’ will be sure to tickle your taste buds and should be washed down with some scrumptious cocktails. Why not book yourself a sun lounger for the afternoon alongside either lunch or dinner?

7. Rocamar – Port d'Andratx

You don't have to drive up mountains or wind down cliffs to find a great view. The restaurants along the harbour of Port d'Andratx are in a prime position to enjoy the relaxing Mediterranean sea views. With elegant yachts and gorgeous villas on the surrounding mountains, this upmarket port holds lots of appeal. Restaurant Rocamar is situated at the end of the row of eateries and specialises in fish and seafood. Perfect for watching the sunset, book ahead to ensure you've got a front-row seat.

8. UM Beach House – Costa d'en Blanes

UM Beach House is another fabulous option to enjoy uplifting sea views in an attractive Mediterranean-style setting. It's located just outside Puerto Portals and it boasts front-line views of the surrounding bay. 9. Es Grau – Estellencs

Restaurant Es Grau is located just three kilometres outside the picturesque Tramuntana town of Estellencs , on the Carretera de Andratx . The drive here is full of incredible views of arid landscape meeting the bluest ocean. The restaurant's position on top of a cliff jutting into the sea means the views are breathtaking. Leaning over the balcony you can marvel at the rocky coves accessed only by boat while the shallower turquoise water is so clear you can see the rocks beneath. Go during the day for the full effect. This is the type of place to stop by for a drink or for a casual lunch and is extremely popular among cyclists. The restaurant opens from 10:00 to 18:00 and specialises in Mallorquin cuisine.

Best waterfront restaurants in the Balearics

Choose a Balearic Islands yacht charter and join an elite list of visitors. Renowned as a playground for wealthy holiday-makers and expats, the Spanish Islands are brimming with chic seaside restaurants that beckon as you cruise by. Most of the islands are well equipped with marinas where you can moor your yacht and slip away for a leisurely seaside meal alfresco. Here are the best waterfront restaurants in the Balearics.

Mallorca is home to dozens of quality marinas, so you may want to hop around, or hire a car to explore the island. First on your list of dinner reservations to secure while in Mallorca is Tristan, a sleek Michelin-star restaurant and bar fronting the Puerto Portals marina just west of Palma, where your super yacht will be in good company. Tristan is well known among the jet set, mostly for its signature Mediterranean dishes, concocted by renowned Chef Gerhard Schwaiger, but also for its chic ambience and exceptional service (open for lunch and dinner). A few minutes’ drive west from Puerto Portals is the St Regis Mardavall Hotel, where you will find the Michelin-star Es Fum, whose palm-fringed terrace overlooks a garden so lush it may distract you from the Mediterranean Sea laying just beyond. Choose the six-course, eight-course, or 10-course menu and feast on Chef Rafael Sanchez’s painstakingly prepared Mediterranean dishes (dinner only). If you find yourself in Port de Soller on Mallorca’s South-west coast, stop into Es Faro, located on a cliff overlooking the mountains and beach below. Es Faro’s claim to fame is freshly caught seafood prepared simply with traditional Spanish ingredients, with a breath-taking view to boot (open for lunch and dinner). On the southeast coast of Mallorca, the pretty fishing village of Portocolom is home to Restaurant Colon, a striking example of Spanish frou frou, with brass bulls, stone walls, dramatic candelabras and fireplaces decorating the interior and a view to the beautiful quayside of Portocolom, where you can moor your yacht. The cuisine is traditional Spanish, and if you’d rather take lunch or dinner to sea, Restaurant Colon offers yacht catering services too (open for lunch and dinner).

Arrive at Ibiza’s Botafoch Marina or the neighbouring Puerto Deportivo Marina and drive 15 minutes east to one of the most glamorous alfresco dining spots on the island, Sa Punta in Talamanca. Sa Punta’s sleek all-white interior continues outside to its teakwood terrace, where daybeds and dining tables face the sea. An “international” menu serves mainly Mediterranean and French dishes (open 11am – 3am). Don’t be put off by Nassau Beach Club’s thumping music and champagne-spraying patrons: the food is surprisingly sophisticated, with Asian influences punctuating its “molecular gastronomy” concept (15 minutes’ drive southwest of the marinas, open 10am to 2am). A more relaxed beach club is El Chiringuito, located on beautiful Es Cavallat Beach, giving diners views out over Ibiza Old Town and nearby Formentera. The restaurant prides itself on its fresh, local ingredients. Warning: the beach is considered “nudist” (25 minutes’ drive southwest of the marinas). Set in a stunning cliff-side cove overlooking Sol D’en Serra bay, Amante Beach Club is perhaps the epitome of Ibiza chic, the perfect setting for leisurely alfresco lunches and dinners, with a Mediterranean inspired menu (25 minutes’ drive northeast of Estrella marina, open 11am until 2am).

Es Marivent is the much beloved darling of the Menorca jet-set, with a spacious terrace overlooking the harbours of Mahon, you can pitch up straight from the nearby Marina Mahon for fresh Mediterranean-inspired seafood dishes (open noon until 11.30pm). A 10-minute drive from the marina, at the Es Castell harbour, Restaurante Trebol is where to go for unfussy, high quality seafood with a waterfront setting. On the west coast of the island, located on a busy promenade at the Port of Cuitadella, Café Balear offers fresh-caught seafood, brought in daily from the restaurant’s own fishing boat.

A truly unique dining experience is Restaurante Es Calo, tucked away in the secluded Es Calo cove, directly on a white sand and rock beach overlooking crystal clear waters and serving seafood on a shaded platform of white linen draped tables. Anchor nearby and take the tender to shore – there is a wooden boardwalk leading from the sea up to the restaurant’s entrance. Roughly 10 minutes’ drive from Marina de Formentera is Es Moli de Sal, situated between two of the island’s prettiest beaches, serving Mediterranean seafood dishes on a large open-concept wooden deck, where the fresh seaside breezes won’t be in short supply.

The best sea bass I’ve ever tasted! This exquisite restaurant has an extremely friendly waitress who prepared some candles for my birthday boy, whilst constantly catering to our every need. The bill is high, yes, but the atmosphere is wonderful and the food delicious. This restaurant has brilliant views and amazing food, but the service let's this place down, I don't know it they are understaffed of the staff are lazy, but we order coffee when we arrived, then order food, eventually, then absolutely could not get the attention... of the staff to order drinks, so we ordered from the bar halfway through our meal, these never arrived, however we finished our meal without drinks, then when we eventually got the bill, the drinks where on the bill, If they address the service problems, this would get maximum stars. For once a place not in the crowd. It is the restaurant of the yacht club and serves delicious plates and very good fish. The place is not so crowded and you can even find locals eating there. But also at a lot of other... places the wine list is OK but I am missing the good local ones. Service is very friendly and always ready for a joke or so. For sure a place were I will go again when I am in Palma. More

You would never expect from outside the building but el club nautico offers a good restaurant! In the last years several friends told me that it is a nice place to eat and a few weeks ago I finally went with my clients to have... lunch The place is amazing, nice terrace, and the food was good. I did not pay, my clients love to do it, but it didn't look even too expensive. I was told that they have a good menu at midday. So nice place to try! More

We love this restaurant and whenever we are in Mallorca we have to return. Enjoyed a memorable lunch on the covered terrace with a view of the harbour/yacht basin. Many items on the menu suitable for sharing - zucchini carpaccio, grilled artichoke hearts, burrata with... tomatoes, tombe and salmon tartare - all delicious. When we dined, filled with locals which is always a good sign. Very suitable for larger parties as big, round tables with space between the other tables. We look forward to our next visit. More

Spectacular views of the bay, yacht basin and Le Seu, with simply outstanding food and great staff. The tasteful decor and selection of music is always a perfect background to a memorable meal. Our favorite address for a laid back lunch.

We visited here on Friday night, 11 ladies celebrating a special occasion. We booked a table in advance (taxi was unsure of location so we were a little late) but this wasn't a problem. Very welcoming staff with great wine knowledge/recommendations. Menu was very Spanish... with tapas and fish selections too. Quality of food was excellent with no complaints whatsoever. Views of the harbour were stunning and good atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend and visit this place again next time I am in Palma. More

The views and decor are outstanding. My clients and I enjoyed lovely food in the sharing Spanish spirit. Don"t miss the lovely pan cristal. Both Zucchini carpaccio and Burrata tomato were lovely. This is one of our favorite "secrets" in Palma. Inside the magical Real Club Nautico Yacht club they allow non members to eat at their incredible restaurant. The food well represents the Mallorcan and Spanish cuisine with an emphasis on fresh ingredients, especially the best... fish you will ever eat in your life. They have a daily special, and if you are lucky enough to have one of the "salt" prepared fishes, grab it. The service is terrific and you can look in all directions to the cathedral, the yachts, the city - it's just magnificent for either lunch or dinner. We were in Palma for 8 days and ate here 5 of them. Make sure and try the "pulpo" and ask the server to recommend and describe the dishes as the english translations are hard to understand. The interior is gorgeous as well but nothing beats the innovative cuisine that the chef and team prepare for each meal. The restaurant also has a fabulous wine list that showcases some of the best spanish wines at very reasonable wines. The Albarino is a favorite white and they serve it by the glass. Make sure and have a "clara" which is beer with sparkling water. We haven't ever had a meal that wasn't stellar at this gorgeous location. Night is incredible and very elegant. They also have an outdoor terrace that is very comfortable for families and great people watching. More

This nautically themed restaurant is located within the Real Yacht Club with lovely panoramic views of the marina and Palma city. It is apparently under new management and if this is correct then they have a great deal of work to do in order to... compete with other restaurants in the area. The service was slow and the inexperienced staff need training in how to take orders, decant wine and serve food. The tapas styled starters were boring and the mains include tastless tuna and undercooked steak. To enter the restaurant you must pass the reception desk for the yacht club who rudely told us we had to wait outside on a cold evening as we had arrived ten minutes before the restaurant opened. An unacceptable start to a disappointing evening meal. More
