Charter Yacht SERENITY Wins Herman Pundt Award at 2023 Newport Charter Yacht Show

The herman pundt best yacht hop award goes to serenity at this year’s newport charter yacht show..

The Newport Charter Yacht Show is held every year in June at the Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard in Newport, Rhode Island . At the event, charter yachts are displayed along with all the goods and services related to the charter industry, in addition to scheduled seminars, meetings, luncheons, and similar events. Organized specifically for professionals in the field, charter brokers and crew get together at the Newport Charter Yacht Show from far and wide.

At the awards ceremony at the end of the show, there is also a new tradition of announcing the winner of the Herman Pundt “Best Yacht Hop” award, dedicated to the late Herman Pundt, a former Denison charter yacht manager and broker, who sadly lost his battle with cancer in 2020. Pundt was known throughout the industry, especially for his immense, long-time support of and presence at the yearly Newport Charter Yacht Show.

Of the 14 charter yachts on display at the Newport Charter Yacht Show, two were Denison charter yachts SERENITY, a 133’ IAG, and LIQUID ASSET, a 66’ Azimut. Denison Charter Manager Allison Cecilio , who was in attendance at the show, beamed: “We could not have been prouder of the Denison charter yachts we had in the show. The yachts looked great, and it showed how hard the crews worked to make it to the show.”

According to Allison, this year’s show was a huge success. “On Tuesday, we arrived early to make sure the yachts were ready, and our first stop was LIQUID ASSET, since this was their first show. She is now nicknamed our ‘little gem’ and the crew are spectacular. They got an A on their assignment and had a full-on welcome spread waiting for the brokers to arrive. They had two specialty cocktails and appetizers each day, one for the morning and one for the afternoon. Both Captain Joey and Mate/Stew Ashley were all about hospitality and all the charter brokers were enthusiastic about her and their program. SERENITY was all set up and ready to welcome the brokers onboard. I must give special kudos to this crew that just had the owner and his ten guests onboard for two weeks which left them with two days to prepare for the show. They are rock stars and rose to the challenge.”

“Wednesday was a long day with a deliciously beautiful lunch onboard SERENITY with a last minute ‘Farm to Table’ fill-in chef that has signed on for the summer charters now. They went straight into their ’70s-themed Yacht Hop and everyone that came onboard said it was the best theme and party at the show. The crew were fully involved and got dressed up and made sure everyone was well looked-after and had fun!”

Thursday featured the AYCA seminar and the culmination of the show with the blowing of the horns, followed by the awards ceremony. Both Denison yachts were in full participation in almost all the competitions. The Herman Pundt Best Yacht Hop Award was presented to the crew of SERENITY. Alison was proud to say that “it was the best way to end the show; we were all thrilled that a Denison charter yacht won this special award that was put in place to honor one of the most enthusiastic charter managers in the industry.”

Unique Design: The Noblestar Terazza 133′ SERENITY

In 2016, the magnificent 133-foot Noblestar Terrazza 133 superyacht Serenity debuted. The Chinese shipyard IAG Yachts built the boat, and her naval architecture is courtesy of Axis Group Yacht Design. Her design is thanks to Evan K. Marshall.

Further forward is the main deck master suite, while the additional guest accommodation is on the lower deck.

Serenity’s interior layout sleeps up to 30 guests in 15 rooms, including a Master Suite, 6 VIP staterooms, 5 double cabins, 2 twin cabins and 2 Pullman beds. She is also capable of carrying up to 30 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. Serenity can easily host up to 100 passengers for quayside event charters and corporate entertainment.

In the era of green technology, Serenity Yachts is paving the way in the yachting industry by building the next generation of vessels that do not rely on fossil fuel. Serenity’s unique solar-powered yachts are made with today’s modern sailor in mind. And while luxury has always played a large role in yacht design, green technology has historically lagged behind in the industry – until now.

Serenity Yachts, which was featured in the annual Neiman Marcus Christmas Book in 2018, blends luxury and technology, creating a tranquil yachting experience. With quiet electric motors, the yachts allow all onboard to take in ocean air and listen to waves lapping against the hull, instead of experiencing the smell of diesel fumes and sound of a loud engine.

Led by Executive Director Boyd Taylor, Serenity Yachts strives to eliminate dependency on fossil fuel, and commits to building yachts that stand the test of time. The brand designs its systems to make them simple to upgrade once new and improved technologies are available. Plus, each part of the yacht ― from the carbon fiber hulls to the hydraulic flybridge ― is designed to maximize efficiency and performance.

Every yacht that Serenity builds is fully customizable. Serenity’s shipbuilders are artisans and seasoned masters of their craft.

Serenity Yachts presently has two lines of vessels: the Serenity 64 and Serenity 74. Each is equipped with the latest technologies and offers a selection of the most cutting-edge equipment in navigation, entertainment, and smart home technologies.

· The Serenity 64 offers 65 square meters of SunPower® solar panels and can cruise indefinitely at 4-6 knots while still providing power to one’s onboard amenities. The vessel features a combined galley and saloon on main deck, four VIP cabins (each with their own en-suite bathroom), one crew cabin, and a hydraulic flybridge. Other layouts are available.

· The Serenity 74 offers 110 square meters of SunPower® solar panels and has the ability to cruise endlessly at 7–9 knots while still powering the onboard amenities. The ideal yacht for chartering, it features a combined galley and saloon on the main deck, four VIP cabins (each cabin with an en-suite bathroom) and two additional cabins and baths in the forepeaks, that can be configured for family or crew (other layouts are available). The Serenity 74’s chic interior was designed with fashion in mind. The vision for the design was inspired by the mind of former Neiman Marcus Fashion Director Ken Downing.
