The latest and greatest yachts under 24 metres

Sam Fortescue reveals the best new models and refreshed favourites in petite packages....

wallypower58X

Under Ferretti Group , the Wallypower range has burgeoned. With all the looks for which the brand is renowned, but a slightly curvier aesthetic, this 17.5-metre’s appeal should be broad. Designed for outboard propulsion, the four motors are offset slightly on the aft platform, allowing access to the water or dock via hydraulic steps. A huge sunpad on the aft deck can be shaded by a carbon cocoon, while the hardtop offers more sheltered lounging.

Lazzara LSX 67 Limited Edition

US brand Lazzara is pitching its 20.4-metre Limited Edition LSX 67 as the ultimate “sport express yacht”. The six-cabin contemporary design boasts an unusually large full-beam master suite with great views and direct access to an aft deck entertainment space and a sizeable beach club. Twin Volvo IPS 1350 engines offer a top end of 35 knots.

Due to become Pardo’s new flagship, the 22.86-metre GT75 aims to combine the brand’s most comfortable interior to date with striking performance. The latter comes from a lightweight composite build and up to three 1,000hp Volvo IPS engines (the engine room is also ready for Volvo’s forthcoming hybrid units). The interior theme is “villa on the sea”, with an owner’s cabin aft and optional access from the beach club.

Nordhavn 71

Built on a brand-new hull, the 22.56-metre N71 marks the fourth generation of these ocean-going trawler yachts. Customisation possibilities are minimal but owners are offered the choice of two layouts: three cabins plus an upper saloon or four cabins. Loose furniture and upholstery is the choice of the owner. The first hull, for a serial Nordhavn owner, is currently in build in Taiwan.

Azimut Seadeck 6

Hybrid has arrived at Azimut – and this is the first model of the new series. The yard says the 17.25-metre will achieve 40 per cent lower emissions thanks to hybrid propulsion and lower onboard consumption. The Fun Island concept describes the aft sunpad and flush cockpit, while the interior design goes for less-is-more to emphasise the connection with the sea.

Horizon PC68

Taiwan’s composite cat specialist continues to grow, with 55 yachts sold to date. Horizon's new 20.73-metre PC68 makes full use of the 7.5-metre beam with a vast main deck that can be specced as an open-plan saloon or shared with the owner’s cabin. A partly enclosed flybridge adds to the already-generous aft deck and foredeck lounge.

Wider Wilder 60

Details are scant, but the promise of a highly customisable “40-knot platform for fun” make this 18.9-metre Wider offering intriguing. This all-aluminum vessel is designed as a crossover between a chase boat and performance cruiser, with a shallow one-metre draught allowing for play close to the shore.

Princess S80

The new flagship of Princess’s sports bridge range shows off sweeping lines drawn by a team of in-house designers and Italian studio Pininfarina . Deep glazing shades much of the dining and lounging space on the main deck, with an awning extending over the sunbathing. With an elaborate foredeck lounge and the open flybridge, entertaining space is copious. The lower deck offers four cabins, including the full-beam main.

Sunseeker Superhawk 55

Superhawk is Sunseeker’s performance sub-brand, and there have been several takes on the genre. At 17.13 metres, the 55 is the biggest yet, and follows the open sports cruiser model of its predecessors. The go-faster styling is backed up by ample power and fingertip control from a centre-console-style dash. There are sunpads fore and aft, with three pilot seats and a wet bar in the cockpit. Two spacious double cabins (there’s an option for three) lie below.

Riva 76 Bahamas Super

This typically elegant 23.32-metre Riva is a reprisal of the successful 76 Bahamas Super launched in 2016. It has been restyled by Officina Italiana Design in black and white with stainless-steel trim. New features include controls for the lighting in the sunpad’s armrests and an electro-hydraulic steering system.

The smallest boat in CL ’s line-up, the 19.7-metre CLB65 is built in the same mould as the CLB72 and is still designed for adventure. It’s a pocket flybridge yacht with two helm stations and twin wing stations for easy manoeuvring. In a first for the Fort Lauderdale-based brand, there is an aft galley with a hinged door and a flip-up window. Owner’s accommodation lies amidships, with a VIP in the forecastle and an additional twin.

Twenty of these 13.1-metre boats have been sold off plan, but the first one won’t splash until this summer. And you can see why they’re flying off the shelves. With design from Sinot , the model boasts flowing, feminine lines, but the twin 480hp drives give real bite – up to 40 knots and a fast 26-knot cruising speed. Flexible accommodation allows two to overnight in comfort, with plenty of deck space for day guests.

Bering Yachts launched their first Bering 55, a classic style trawler, in 2009. In 2010 Mila, another classic Bering 55, began cruising the waters of the Mediterranean (see Bering Yachts - YachtForums.Com ). In Alexei’s continued determination to bring quality trawlers to the seafaring market, he veered away from the same-ole, same-ole and had his crew design a contemporary yacht that might appeal to a younger crowd, Europeans, or those looking for a stand-out head-turner, yet still offer the same requisite long-range attributes for safety and comfort at sea.

18 meter yacht

And what an accomplishment! With the B18, Bering has now created a new genre in the mid-size trawler market. Looking more like an Italian motoryacht, the sleekness of the hull belies the 18’8” beam. Clean lines and contemporary styling are enhanced by the generous use of curves, angles, and an abundance of glass and stainless steel, yet the interior living areas are humongous and it’s easy to forget that this is only an 18 meter boat.

18 meter yacht

Beauty might be skin deep, but the fortitude is structural throughout the hull. One might mistake this enchanter for a fiberglass yacht, but the gotcha factor is that the B18 is marine A36 steel from top to bottom. Bottom plating and integrated tanks are 8mm, sides are 6mm, the superstructure is 5mm, and flybridge is 4mm -- bring it on! Great visibility is achieved by the almost frameless windows and near floor to ceiling views from most. The windows boast construction of reinforced double glass laminate with a heating film in-between. The combined thickness of the glass is 18mm.

18 meter yacht

Front row seating on the bow makes an enticing locale for romantic dining, although 4 or 5 can comfortably sit on the oversized viewing pad while feasting at the large hi-lo dining table. For me, this would be prime napping spot, at least until it’s time to drop anchor from the dual Muir 4000 anchor winches.

18 meter yacht

The generous full walk-around 30” side decks have good overhead coverage and are one level from stern to anchor gear. Additionally, deck level recessed lighting and no toe stubbers make for happy feet. The bulwarks rise higher amidships forward but the robust railing maintains a consistent height of 3 ½ feet. Safety features continue with liberal freeing ports and generous heavy duty bollards and assorted cleats.

18 meter yacht

The spacious aft deck has spectator seating for 6 with large storage bins beneath. The recessed overhead lighting is ready to enhance the dining experience at the yet to be installed tables.

18 meter yacht

Entering through the double wide-opening 15mm glass weathertight doors, the “wow” factor hits. The milieu is oh so Euro and the contrasting colors defined by the African Rosewood woodwork are striking. Leather couch seating and fold-leaf table are to port; starboard side houses the retractable TV and entertainment system and two matching leather chairs. The “wow” factor really stands out when the salon is viewed with her panoramic windows in full display complemented by the elegance of the lighting and simplicity of style. The spiral staircase, although rather steep for maneuvering in a seaway, artistically and unobtrusively services access to the flybridge. The headroom in the salon is 7’3” which also adds to the dramatic feel of voluminous space. And can you believe all of those magnificent windows are electrically heated? Bring on the icebergs!

18 meter yacht

The one-level concept continues to the galley and beyond to the pilothouse. The ½” thick oak veneered sole assures for stepless, sure-footedness. As well, the sole in the salon and galley is heated so no cold toesies here. The multiple lighting options include kickboard lighting, direct ceiling, local lights, wall sconces, and my favorite is the lighting over the galley breakfast bar recessed into a wooden soffit that mirrors the musical note shape of the countertop - nice artistic touch to the high-tech galley. The lunch counter/breakfast bar serves as a good prep station or as convenient buffet service. Four barstools sit comfortably for mealtime or pull up the other two and call it a party. A securing mechanism for the barstools would probably come in handy to prevent a flying by the seat of your pants experience in rough waters.

18 meter yacht

The galley offers numerous features, one of which is safety at sea by virtue of the shape and ability to hold on and maneuver simultaneously. Two big windows over the double stainless steel deep sinks with macerator provide distraction for wishing you were outside instead of washing on the inside. The Electrolux 4 burner glasstop stove could use some fiddles but the Siemens oven exhaust is modernistically cool. Epicurean accoutrements include Whirlpool dishwasher, full-size convection-microwave, Scholtes large refrigerator and freezer drawers, trash compactor, and numerous cabinets, cubbies, and drawers. I would have picked on a shortage of long-term provision space for staples and frozen food until I discovered the “back-up galley” below deck.

18 meter yacht

The pilothouse presents a custom instrument panel incorporating high-end electronics gadgetry with the synchronal bells and whistles. Outstanding viewing for the captain perched upon his Llebroc helm seat from the picture windows while the lookers-on get prime gazing from the large leather settee on the raised dais. Stowage is beneath the settee as well as numerous large cabinets, drawers, a hanging locker, and fiddled bookshelves. The lighting options are augmented with the above the helm red lighting for night passages which is further enhanced by the seclusion of extraneous light with the solid aft bulkhead and the pilothouse door separating the galley. The weathertight doors port and starboard are comfortably large and swing back to allow out-of-the-way easy and if necessary fast access to the decks.

18 meter yacht

Access forward from the foyer is by way of a wood weathertight door that leads to the master stateroom. The large banks of drawers take care of stowing the nautical duds more than sufficiently. The continuation of lighting options is enhanced by additions of rope lighting and the Japanese screens providing translucent cover and privacy for the four screened opening portlights. The master stateroom centerline bed is flanked with small night tables and houses a large storage cabinet behind the headboard. Stateroom simplicity seeks sublime supine slumber. Strangely, the master is located in the forepeak, again bucking traditional trawler trends.

18 meter yacht

The ensuite master head offers plenty of room including a pretty fantastic shower. The heated floor and towels dryers are repeated in the guest heads as well. The "I can’t get enough of myself mirror" shows the confidence a steel hull provides as there’s no flexing in this big fragile plate of back atya.

18 meter yacht

The VIP stateroom is portside amidships. This could be used as the master stateroom. The bed is equal in size to the forepeak stateroom as is the storage space with its banks of drawers. Additionally there is a large cedar-lined hanging locker and a huge mirrored vanity that could double as long gun storage. The vertical windows offer a striking view underway. What differentiates this oversized guest stateroom from the master is that it shares an adjoining wall with the 3rd stateroom and doesn’t offer cross-ventilating opening ports, but it’s a mighty fine bedoir that might discourage guests from overstaying their welcome.

18 meter yacht

This image from the forepeak of the master stateroom shows the curved stairs to the starboard side of the galley leading to an amidships foyer. This pivot point is an improved divergence from the standard narrow companionways that skew off into staterooms. As well, this landing area offers a large sector for separation of master stateroom from the guest cabins, but also serves as a great storage and service platform. It’s a nice treat to find the separate full size Bosch washer and dryer conveniently located close to the staterooms, but finding two separate Frigidaire refrigerators with freezers for the long-haul provisioning is a welcome rarity. Plenty of space for dry-goods storage. The six Cruisaire A/C units are located in this area assuring quiet climate control in each room.

18 meter yacht

The starboardside third cabin is ideal for the additional short-term visiting couple, children, or grandkids. With upper and lower beds being able to handle the 6’6” fellas and access to an ensuite head with another great shower, this cabin is particularly well suited for crew. While the front entry to the cabin is from the foyer, the aft watertight doorway from the head leads to the engine room, which also makes it convenient for use as an engine room head and, as well, serves as a sound buffer from the engine room.

18 meter yacht

The engine room looks space-age mechanical with the two Cummins QSB5.9 (225hp) commercial engines recessed with opening grate overlay flooring straddling each side of the Seakeeper R2D2 looking gyro stabilizer. DeAngelo Marine engineered the exhaust system assuring quiet and safe underway comfort. Engine room entry for at-sea checks and servicing can be accessed from the inside by way of the 3rd cabin or in not so following seas from the transom pantographic watertight door from the swim platform down three steps to the engine room where headroom is just under 6’6”.

18 meter yacht

Flat seas make any comments on the sea trial inconsequential. I asked for a rain-check when there are some 10 footers heading at us. This B18 says B all that you can B – and bring it on, in style. Bering Yacht's use of proven steel shipbuilding techniques has combined the latest mode to come up with the modernistic styling to give a new-age 3,000+ nautical mile can-do blue-water exploration yacht. DETAILS The B18 was built at the Bering Yachts’ yard in Foshan, China although the B18’s new owner took delivery in Istanbul, Turkey and inaugurated his initial cruise non-stop to Antalya where this review and the sea trial commenced. The Alexseal paint system provides a shiny yacht finish over the faired hull that disguises the impact resistance of the steel underneath. The hull below the waterline is treated with three layers of Interlux antifouling paint. Inside, the hull is triple primed and insulated with 2” non-flammable rockwool; the sub-interior is 6mm non-flammable marine plywood.

18 meter yacht

The twin ZF five blade NiBrAl props are fully skeg protected and spin from the ZF Aquamet ¾” shafts. The shafts and props are strategically located and cross-lubricated so that should it be necessary to run on one engine, the vessel will hold a straight course. When tried during sea trial, the B18 did propel and handle impressively well on one engine. The Side-Power 15hp stern thruster sits at centerline beneath the spansive swim platform and provides the extra cheat for difficult docking.

TOP 5 Best Yachts from 15 to 20 Meters (50-65 ft) in 2024

For this list the topRik team has selected the five most comfortable yachts in terms of life on board and ease of management, ranging in length from 15 to 20 meters and worth up to 3 million euros.

  • NEEL 65 TRIMARAN
  • FOUNTAIN PAJOT SAMANA 59
  • LAGOON SIXTY 7 (LAGOON 67)

Since we have different tastes and preferences, the top list included both sailing and motor boats, as well as a racing sailing cruiser. We tell in detail about our choice with illustrations and videos. Let’s go!

  • Brand: Dufour Yachts
  • Hull type: Sailing yacht
  • Overall length, m: 19.22
  • Width, m: 5.48
  • Draft, m: 2.8
  • Displacement, t: 24.150
  • Water tanks, l: 880
  • Exterior design (Architect): Felci Yacht Design
  • Interior Design: Felci Yacht Design
  • Mainsail type: Fully battened
  • Jib type: Self-tacking
  • Mainsail area, m²: 104
  • Jib area, m²: 66
  • Engine, hp: 180
  • Fuel tanks, l: 780

Each member of our team has some experience with sailing regattas. Paying tribute to this experience and given the high expectations of high comfort on board for this list, we gave the 5th place to the Dufour 61 monohull sailing yacht in our list.

Dufour 61

No one argues that it is difficult to provide comfort comparable to the capabilities of catamarans or trimarans on a monohull yacht. But, in our opinion, Dufour Yachts did what it could to achieve maximum possible comfort for the crew and passengers on their new racing cruiser.

Luxury that strives for simplicity - that’s what Dufour 61 is about. First off, you get a luxurious transom with a platform and a capacious locker where a dinghy fits perfectly, and look at this ladder with wide steps! And we haven't even climbed into the cockpit yet. Remember - we are talking about a single-hull sailboat with a hull length of just over 18 m.

Dufour 61

Two control stations with helms with dashboards behind them, on which, in addition to the usual displays, the screens of 12-inch Raymarine chartplotters are placed. Such a double post and folding wings that transform into seats are already becoming an integral part of Dufour's DNA, just like the awning over the entire cockpit protecting from rain or sun. Although, this is still an optional feature.

There is enough space in the cockpit to move freely and relax or dine at a fold-out table or at a second table located along the transom, using the facilities of a small deck galley. You can put mattresses with backs on the seat. Pay attention to how conveniently the winches are located. There is a hydraulic backstay tensioner next to the helm.

Dufour 61

Another control post is located in the cabin. Sitting at the skipper's table, you can work and at the same time watch the sails through these ceiling (deck?) portholes. The saloon is furnished with comfortable upholstered furniture and an incredible table that, with the help of a person, can perform miracles of transformation. From a coffee table, it can turn into an extra bed or grow into a large dining table.

Dufour 61

More than 10 people can easily fit around the table in the saloon, and although the yacht is designed for a maximum of 9 beds, according to the layouts, don’t forget about the possibility of extra beds in the cabin.

The official cabin options offer options for:

  • 3 cabins with three bathrooms for 8 people;
  • 4 cabins with 4 bathrooms for 9 people with longitudinal galley;
  • 4 cabins with 4 bathrooms for 9 people with a U-shaped galley.

Dufour 61

In all variations, the master cabin of Dufour 61 remains unchanged, with comfort approaching the luxury inherent in cabins on catamarans.

Dufour 61

The rest of the cabins are more modest, depending on the purpose, the same island double beds as in the master cabin can be installed there, or two separate berths can be equipped.

Dufour 61

The forepeak accommodates a crew cabin with berths, a separate shower, washbasin and toilet.

Dufour 61

The rig area is 170 m² (mainsail – 104 m², genoa – 66 m²) and engine power is 180 hp – these are the proofs that the developers from Felci Yacht Design did not sacrifice the seaworthiness of a sailing racer when creating comfortable living conditions on board the Dufour 61.

Neel 65 Trimaran

We could not fail to mention almost the only trimaran that meets the requirements of the list. Sailing trimaran Neel 65 from Neel Trimarans takes the 5th place. The shipyard presented its take on a cruising yacht in "Sport-Chic" mode. Why, in this case, the flagship of the line and the only trimaran in the ranking took second place... from the end? The general opinion of the team was: a lot of chic, but not enough sport.

Neel 65 Trimaran

Sure, the choice of sailing equipment is impressive: a mainsail of 374 m², furling genoa of 305 m², self-locking twisting staysail - 130 m², and gennaker of 525 m². How else can you budge a hulk whose displacement at half load is 22.5 tons?

Neel 65 Trimaran

The original solution of combining the saloon and cockpit deserves attention. For this huge space, the developers have come up with a new term - cockloon.

The descent into the technical compartment in the central float is carried out directly from the saloon, pardon, directly from that part of the cockloon that can be considered saloon. You enter huge engine room with Volvo engines Penta 40 hp. There is also a boiler, watermaker , generator, air conditioner, 600-liter tanks for water and fuel, as well as shelves for various equipment, spare parts, tools and materials. Judging by the volume of tanks and the presence of a watermaker, the autonomy of the trimaran is excellent. The same section is also used as a bicycle garage.

A galley with an almost circular layout is also located in the saloon. There is enough space for 2-3 people, especially since the work surfaces are divided into zones - with a hob, a sink, zone for cutting food, zone for serving it. The galley is fully equipped with all the necessary equipment, including a dishwasher, refrigerators and freezers, which again brings us back to the well-solved problem of the autonomy of the vessel.

Neel 65 Trimaran

Neel 65 is designed for a maximum of a master cabin placed on the upper deck, and 4 cabins in floats for 8 berths.

Neel 65 Trimaran

The master cabin with a large island bed is equipped with plenty of storage space. Natural light enters through a large porthole. The cabin has a full bathroom with all amenities.

Neel 65 Trimaran

The aft and bow cabins are also quite roomy and filled with natural light through the side and ceiling windows. The latter are also used for natural ventilation.

Neel 65 Trimaran

By the way, all the cabins, even the bow cabins, are of surprisingly decent height, when compared with the bow cabins of catamarans, and even more so of monohulls. The bow cabins have a round opening porthole, a lavatory with guest access and a large closet.

The forepeak can also accommodate crew if all cabins are occupied by passengers.

On the stairs from the cabins leading to the skipper's station, there is a panel of electrical equipment and electronics. The post is equipped with communication facilities, a table for working with maps, a chartplotter , etc. A magnificent view opens through the panoramic glazing of the entire cockloon.

The bow is equipped with nets. It seemed to us that it was not safe enough for people to stay here, or was not originally intended for this.

We found another weak point of this trimaran, which is often observed in some models of catamarans. If you are less than two meters tall, you will not see the left float from the helm station. But if you lean low enough, then you will have an overview of it.

In other respects, the electronics of the control post are thought out to the smallest detail. Behind the helm there is a panel with navigational instruments, and nearby, at arm's length – winches and throttle. Standing at its helm, you can feel like a space pilot, because it is able to provide a cruising speed of up to 20 knots. Nevertheless, Neel 65 feels more like a luxury yacht than a sporty vessel - you feel like nothing can go wrong with your voyage, so it’s not exactly an option for thrill-seekers.

Fountain Pajot Samana 59

This is one of Fountaine Pajot’s flagship models - the heir of the Ipanema 58 and the natural development of the brand’s lineup., which includes models such as Alegria 67 , Astrea 42 , Elba 45 , Saona 47, Isla 40 .

It is not surprising, that the Samana 59 cruising sailing catamaran, with a width of 9.5 m, is similar in silhouette to the Alegria 67. Both yachts were designed by the same team of naval architects Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design.

Fountain Pajot Samana 59

They succeeded in their task of providing the same comfort on a 59-foot yacht as on her predecessor worth more than two million, but not at the expense of seaworthiness.

TopRik experts believe that Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design has coped with the task so well that it deserves to be right in the middle of our list.

First, when you look at the wide ladder steps and a powerful platform with a hydraulic drive, capable of holding a weight of almost half a ton, you begin to doubt that this 18-meter boat can show cruising properties. But familiarity with its sailing rig and engines removes this prejudice.

This boat with the vibes of a superyacht is equipped by default with two engines with a capacity of 110 hp, optionally - 150 hp. The sail area, which includes the mainsail and genoa, is 117 + 87 m². Fuel tanks of 1200 liters make it possible to navigate autonomously over long distances.

You can tailor this cat to suit your needs using the Samana 59's versatility and its many areas for relaxing, sunbathing, swimming and eating:

  • 4 cabin layout options;
  • flybridge with an area of 30 m²;
  • cockpit area of 27.5 m²;
  • foredeck with an area of 10 m²;
  • dining areas in the cockpit, saloon and flybridge;
  • relaxation areas, solariums on the flybridge, foredeck, saloon and cockpit;
  • modular deck chairs and trampolines, deck chairs and mattresses in the cockpit and on the bow deck;
  • fully equipped galley in 2 versions in the saloon or in the float, galley and refrigeration equipment on the flybridge and plancha in the cockpit;
  • 2 options for the bar area.

Fountain Pajot Samana 59

The yacht provides plenty of storage space for a motorized inflatable dinghy , folding bikes, diving and spearfishing equipment, clothes, books and other things that you may need on board for a long cruise. It also increases the comfort of sailing, as you can take everything that you are used to using on land, except for a car and your own office. Well, actually... The owner's cabin has enough space, a desk and the necessary connection to organize a makeshift office. But we hope that you will use your master cabin for relaxation - it has all it takes for that.

Fountain Pajot Samana 59

In different configuration options, the developers have provided for the possibility of placing from 4 to 6 cabins:

  • Lounge Maestro (galley downstairs): owner's cabin with bathroom (photo above), 2 double cabins with bathrooms each, bunk bed cabin with bathroom (children love this option).
  • Maestro (galley above): 1 owner's cabin with bathroom, 4 double cabins with bathrooms each.
  • 5 cabin charter version (downstairs galley): 4 double cabins and 6 bathrooms, bunk bed cabin and bathroom.
  • 6 cabin charter version (galley above): 6 double cabins with ensuite bathrooms each.

Fountain Pajot Samana 59

The engine room is a fairly roomy compartment, where you can go down through the hatch in the cockpit, with good access to the Volvo Penta engines.

A spiral ladder leads to the flybridge, where the helm station is located. It looks quite organic in this huge space filled with sun loungers, sofas, sun loungers and a small galley.

Fountain Pajot Samana 59

Particularly impressive is the 22-inch marine display on the control console, which is located just behind the helm. Here you can take full control of: the anchor winch with windlass, thruster, throttles, radio station and electric winches on both sides of the helm. Everything is so conveniently located that an experienced skipper can handle the Samana 59 alone.

Fountain Pajot Samana 59

Another working area is located in the cabin - this is the navigator's table, where the readings of the operation of all equipment are displayed, as well as the chartplotter screen.

Fountain Pajot Samana 59

Well, by handing over the reins to the autopilot or assistant, the skipper can always relax in a good company and in a good place, for example, on the foredeck.

Lagoon Sixty 7 (Lagoon 67)

Let's not hide the fact that the team has some Lagoon boats fans, including both sailing and motorized options. Thanks to their “lobbying”, the motor catamaran Lagoon Sixty 7, or Lagoon 67 came to the second place in the list at high cruising speed.

Lagoon 67

As you can see, the continuity in this model is preserved by the efforts of the same team of VPLP naval architects and interior designers from Nauta Design. The task they had was not an easy one: to retain the comfort of Lagoon Seventy 8. Keep in mind, the difference in the length of the yachts is close to 5 meters.

And yet the developers have managed to strike the perfect balance between luxury and performance, packing it all into a 20 m boat that provides almost the same comfort as on the Seventy 8.

Lagoon 67

As a result of their creative and engineering thought, you can become the owner of a 5-star hotel suite of three levels, with the following elements of luxury and comfort:

  • the ability to choose interior decoration - natural walnut, mahogany or white oak veneer;
  • high-quality textiles made from natural materials for upholstery, curtains, bedspreads, bedding and tableware, etc.;
  • comfortable spacious cabins (16 m² master cabin) with private bathrooms, the configuration of which is determined by the buyer;
  • a full galley of 12 m² in the saloon, fully equipped with everything you need, as well as additional mini galleys in the cockpit and on the flybridge;
  • king island beds size, chic sofas, deck chairs on all decks;
  • standard and optional complete set of equipment to ensure a comfortable life in long autonomous navigation.

Lagoon 67

From the cockpit you can go to a private beach spot, which is provided by a platform with wide steps of the transom. Here you can also attach a boat, jet ski, surfboards or kites.

A very wide sliding door connects the cockpit with the saloon, and the resulting huge space allows you to move freely throughout the resulting lounge area.

Lagoon 67

In the cabin, the space is divided into recreation areas and workers. The first group includes sofas around a coffee table and the second group of sofas around a full dining table.

Lagoon 67

The working area includes a navigational control post with a table, a chartplotter and other equipment and communication devices.

Lagoon 67

The saloon has circular glazing, so there is sufficient natural light and a 360-degree panoramic view.

Using the configuration options for cabins, the future owner can create the configuration of his Lagoon Sixty 7 himself – it is available with 3, 4, 5 and 6 cabins. In the left float there is a full-fledged galley with all the necessary equipment. For the 6-cabin option, the 12 m² galley will be moved to the saloon.

Lagoon 67

A luxurious master cabin is an owner's privilege. Here, in addition to the king island bed size there is a large set of furniture - cabinets, shelves, a sofa, a work table and a dressing table. It is so large that it does not even fit completely in one panoramic photo.

Lagoon 67

The owner also has a large bathroom with all the elements for hygiene and care.

Lagoon 67

Guest cabins are also quite comfortable, spacious and equipped with storage space. Each guest cabin has its own bathroom with all the necessary amenities for taking water treatments, as well as a separate toilet.

Lagoon 67

Lagoon Sixty 7 continues the shipyard's trend of offering superyacht standards to an even wider range of yachtsmen.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

Motorized version of the Fountaine Pajot’s sailing catamaran Alegria 67 is the leader in the ranking of the most comfortable yachts up to 3 million euro.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

Hey, what’s this?! Is that a Jacuzzi over there on the foredeck? Well, yes. Yet having it on Fountaine Pajot’s Power 67 is not required - it is an optional option. After you have breathed a sigh of relief (it’s additional 3 tons of water off your shoulders!) we will continue to talk about this incredible motor catamaran with a length of almost 20 m, a width of almost 10 m and a displacement of 31 tons.

For many, this is a dream come true for maximum comfort on a cruise trip without a dress code and other conventions of a superyacht, but with its feel: spacious rooms and recreation areas with a luxurious interior and ease of operation, which can always (well, almost) be delegated to an autopilot or crew.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

Another addition to the mix is the maximum safety for passengers and crew, which is typical for most catamarans that are not intended for racing. Please note that there are no nets in the bow, like on a sailing catamaran. For them, the absence of a hard overlap serves to ensure that the boat does not bounce with the wave. This is not necessary on a powerboat, since the weight is redistributed differently, in particular due to the lack of a mast with sails and due to large fuel reserves. It is clear that the floats provide high stability of the cat due to the thoughtful distribution of the entire mass of equipment, furniture and equipment that they carry.

The Power 67 is ideal for both personal and commercial use. Whether you want to get lost in the ocean for half a year in the most comfortable conditions, or regularly provide your family or friends with an amazing sea trip in luxurious conditions, this is your model.

If you are a business owner, this yacht can accommodate up to 16 passengers and provide them with maximum comfort and a superyacht feel throughout a long autonomous voyage.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

There are 2 fillers on each side, with standard tanks allowing for 4 kiloliters of fuel (same as the sailing version), and another 2000 liters are added on top, which ensures a decent autonomy of the cat.

And if outside the vessel is completely identical to Alegria 67, then the underwater part of the transom, invisible to us, has been upgraded for the sake of speed, specifically for the motor version of the yacht.

The very roomy engine compartment accommodates two 480 hp Volvo Penta engines. When fully loaded (excluding jacuzzi!) with these engines, the cat can reach a maximum speed of 18 knots, and cruising speed will be 10-12 knots. A planing boat at this speed will bounce on the wave, scour and dive with its bow. But the catamaran will move like it’s on rails.

In the same compartment there are filters, two washing machines, as well as a batch switch with a voltage output of 220 and 12 V.

There are two synchronized diesel generators, the second one is connected only when necessary, which saves electricity consumption.

In the photo above, you could see a great bathing area that the platform and wide lower steps of the ladder provide. If these steps are used as a beach, the platform can carry a 4.5 m motor dinghy, a jet ski or kites - the platform can withstand a weight of 450 kg. The height of the platform can be adjusted too.

But let's finally go up to the cockpit.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

Plenty of comfortable seating and loungers with lockers underneath, a fold out table and a galley with plancha or grill, sink and fridge.

On the transom there is a wonderful device from Volvo - a joystick that helps with mooring by interacting with the thruster, propellers and feathers of the rudders. The same joystick is also on the flybridge, at the steering station. Considering the dimensions of the cat, this mooring system is very useful, especially for those who prefer to be alone in the ocean.

On both sides of the cockpit, doors rising up lead to the cabins - the guest cabin and the owner's cabin. The master cabin is comparable to a hotel room and has all the amenities, including a private bathroom.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

The aft and bow guest cabins also have large beds, storage space, portholes for natural light and private bathrooms.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

If the cat is purchased for charter flights, the crew can be accommodated in the forepeak - there is enough space for a bed and a bathroom.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

The Samana 67 catamaran can accommodate 14 people in 7 cabins, and all cabins will be provided with a full bathroom with some differences in volumes.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

As you can see, manipulations with the partitions allow you to choose the option of completing the cabins in strict accordance with the wishes of the buyer.

It remains to climb the flybridge, but on the way there we will look into the saloon. This huge space is divided into three zones: recreation, dining and work.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

Unusual freedom of movement and spaciousness even for cat, the feeling of which is enhanced by wide sliding doors to the cockpit. The window above one of the galley tables is also sliding, through which you can serve food and drinks from the galley to the cockpit.

A large and comfortable control station of Power 67 includes a chart table with a panel displaying the screen of the chartplotter and other tools.

The second helm station is located on the flybridge - we get there by climbing a comfortable staircase from the cockpit, which it can be clearly seen in the first photo above behind the door. Like the saloon, the flybridge has a clear division into zones.

The seating area has sofas and loungers, a convertible table, a small galley and a refrigerator, which allows you to organize an outdoor dining experience.

The control post is moved forward on the starboard side. Behind the navigator's seat, designed for two people, there is a lounger from where you can observe the controls.

Fountain Pajot Power 67

The helm is similar to the steering wheel of a car. Immediately behind it is a panel with multifunctional marine displays and other instruments. To the right of the navigator there is a joystick - a double of the one in the cockpit, to facilitate mooring.

That was the summary of all the features of this luxurious and comfortable cottage on the water for a family cruise or a trip with close friends. Even though it’s full of amenities, it is also extremely efficient in terms of fuel consumption, and also does not require a large crew, which makes it profitable for those who organize charters.

Thanks for reading till the end! We hope that this list was informative and put some things into perspective for you when it comes to some of the most expensive yachts in the world.

Lionheart, K-18

Lionheart, K-18, photo by Martin Everard

Built in 1979 according to the International Third Rule- America’s Cup.

1979-1980: Commissioned by the British Industry 1500 Club, Lionheart was a heavy displacement yacht built for the 1980 America’s Cup. Her most innovative feature was a “bendy” mast that increased her sail area by nearly 7%. She proved to be very fast in a straight line but had a lack of maneuverability when compared to other twelves. She was beaten by France II after a close fight at the 24th America’s Cup Challenger Trials.

1981-1983: Peter de Savary had her altered in 1982 and sailed her as a trail horse against Victory ’82 and Victory ’83 . By 1991 she was in the U.S. managed by Intrepid Marketing with her home port in Seekonk, MA.

since 1991: Owned by Harry H. Graves, Lionheart is sailed and raced with the Newport 12 metre fleet.

  • Kathrynisobel 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Very disappointing We went on the Spinalonga Island and Minatos Cave tour. Based on the description on the website my children and I were really looking forward to the tour. We expected to have long enough in the cave to really explore and thought a significant part of the tour would be in the cave. We were really excited about the speedboat too - billed as the "highlight" of the tour and which featured a trip around Spinalonga. We were all extremely disappointed with the tour. I imagined that the cave was much closer to Spinalonga and did not anticipate having to spend so long in the car. It was a really long way to travel for about 20 minutes in the mouth of a cave. The speedboat trip lasted only 3 or 4 minutes to the island and the same on the way back. The itinerary stated that after visiting Spinalonga the speedboat would take us around the island. This did not happen and we were taken straight back to Placa. I cannot understand how this trip cost €98 per adult (plus entrance fee). There were 5 of us in our speedboat and we spent less than 10 minutes in it. Then we drove over an hour to a taverna near the cave, ate some lunch, visited the cave and returned to the hotel. I wouldn't recommend this trip to anyone. I felt it was really overpriced and a waste of a day of our holiday. I didn't appreciate the constant jokes that our driver made at my daughter's expense about her very serious egg allergy. He was dismissive about the allergy, and of my concerns about the taverna, assuring me that Greeks don't put egg in their food. I found myself trying to persuade him to take it seriously. It wasn't good enough. I emailed to complain but have had no reply over 24 hours later. Thi trip was a huge disappointment and I do feel aggrieved about the loss of money and a day of our holiday. It could be improved by being transparent about the itinerary and reducing the cost. Read more Written June 10, 2023

The superyacht world is speculating that Mark Zuckerberg just bought this 118-meter boat

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

The 118-meter superyacht Launchpad made her maiden voyage last week.

The yacht world is speculating that her owner is Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Here's what we know about the luxury vessel.

In the world of superyachts , privacy is the most valuable asset. It can be next to impossible to discern the details of a superyacht transaction — and that's particularly true if the vessel in question is worth nine figures.

Yet some in the boat blogging world are speculating that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is the new owner of Launchpad, a megayacht currently moored in Fort Lauderdale, Florida after she made her maiden voyage from Gibraltar to St Maarten last week. Launchpad clocks in at 118 meters long, about nine meters shorter than Jeff Bezos' superyacht Koru .

The transaction could not be confirmed, with yacht world insiders declining to share what they know and representatives for Zuckerberg not responding to a request for comment from Business Insider. In the past, reports about Zuckerberg owning superyacht Ulysses have proven false.

"It is Feadship's standard policy to never divulge any information about our yachts with reference to ownership, costs, or delivery, etc," Feadship, the ship's builder, wrote to BI. "Whether it is an 18-meter Feadship from the 1960s or a 118-meter Feadship from the 21st century, we do not share private information."

But Zuckerberg's name has been connected to Launchpad for a few months now, beginning in December when reports swirled that he visited Feadship's shipyard in the Netherlands.

Then, earlier in March, yachting bloggers like eSysman SuperYachts and Autoevolution started speculating that he officially snagged the boat, originally built for a sanctioned Russian businessman, at a $300 million price tag. (While that's a seemingly huge amount, it's still less than 0.2% of Zuckerberg's $177 billion net worth.)

Another clue that might point to US ownership is that the yacht bears the flag of the Marshall Islands, a US territory and commonplace for American buyers to register their ships, according to public marine tracking.

If Zuckerberg were to have bought Launchpad, he would join a cohort of superyacht-owning tech billionaires . Along with Bezos, the likes of Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison and Google cofounders Sergey Brin and Larry Page have purchased impressive boats with even more impressive amenities.

SuperYacht Times , an industry publication and intelligence platform, has some of the best images of the yacht. Photos show a swimming pool on her main deck and a large helipad.

While less is known of the interior, a vessel of her size can likely sleep dozens of guests and crew and may have amenities like an expansive gym where Zuckerberg could practice his jiu-jitsu or a spa with a massage area. We suspect there's also space for plenty of toys — which could include his viral hydrofoil foil .

Do you have any details about Launchpad or any other superyachts? Email reporter Madeline Berg at [email protected].

Nvidia's Jensen Huang says AI hallucinations are solvable, artificial general intelligence is 5 years away

Artificial general intelligence (AGI) -- often referred to as "strong AI," "full AI," "human-level AI" or "general intelligent action" -- represents a significant future leap in the field of artificial intelligence. Unlike narrow AI, which is tailored for specific tasks, such as detecting product flaws, summarizing the news, or building you a website, AGI will be able to perform a broad spectrum of cognitive tasks at or above human levels. Addressing the press this week at Nvidia's annual GTC developer conference, CEO Jensen Huang appeared to be getting really bored of discussing the subject — not least because he finds himself misquoted a lot, he says.

Safety steps activated when floodwaters rise

We appreciate all our natural gas operations employees for their dedication to making sure our customers receive safe and reliable natural gas service. In recognition of National Natural Gas Utility Workers’ Day on March 18, we wanted to share about how our natural gas employees prepare for flood emergencies.

Heavy rains and storms can result in downed power lines, but for the Gas Operations team, that kind of weather means potential flooding. Flooding waters and gas meters don’t mix. Each gas meter has an adjacent gas regulator with an open vent that can allow water to get into gas lines and appliances in a home or business. To prevent water from getting into those lines, trained technicians will turn off gas service at the meter and install a plug in the regulator vent during floods if there is a possibility of the meters being submerged.

Preparing for a flood

Gas Operations has a team of 18 employees (nine two-person crews) who are trained to take boats into flooded areas and check gas meters. Team Leader of Gas Distribution Chris Hall started as part of those crews in 2008 and now oversees the employees who respond to floods.

“I watch the river levels on the McAlpine Upper, and when the water gets to about 21 feet, I will prepare the boats, check on supplies and equipment needed, get the addresses of where to go, and coordinate the crews,” said Hall, who is affectionately known as the captain of the “Hall Navy” by crews.

The team has a list of customer addresses on or near the Ohio River who are at risk of flooding. This list also notes how high their gas meter is located on their structure. If river levels are expected to get near their listed meter level, an automated phone call goes to those customers informing them that an LG&E employee is coming to check the meter. Once there, the meter tech will assess the situation and turn off the gas to the meter and plug the regulator vent if necessary.

“Many of the homes or buildings we visit have their meters high on their structure because the area is naturally prone to flooding,” said Mark Wallace, gas field coordinator, who assists Hall in checking river levels and getting boats and crews ready. “We might have our crews check a meter several times because we want to keep our customers in service as long as we can.”

Hall and Wallace also are in constant communication with various emergency response teams and the fire department to let them know where they are working in case of emergency.

Boat training

When crews go out on the boat, they take waders, rain gear and high-visibility life jackets (Coast Guard-approved) in addition to the tools required for the job. These tools depend on the area and the type of gas meter they’ll be checking. Zach Tuttle, senior Safety and Technical Training consultant, leads yearly training sessions, which alternate between training on the boats and reviewing materials.

“During training, we take the boat out with our team and simulate what we do in an actual event,” said Tuttle. “We load and unload the boat, go through the checklists, run the motor, and set up on a dock to simulate what employees would be doing during a flood event.”

Challenges of a flood

While the crews are highly trained in flood response, there are challenges they must navigate to get the job done safely. For example, sometimes crews will need a boat to get to a meter on one street, but then need to wade to a meter on another street. When floodwaters are high, there are both visible and unseen objects in the water, creating potentially hazardous situations. In every scenario, crews must exercise extreme caution getting to the meters.

“It can be difficult to find where you are going because sometimes, we are only using the utility poles and street signs that are not submerged to guide us,” said Wallace, who has been involved on this team since 2017.

LG&E Gas Employees Floodwaters

Turning gas service back on

A flooding event can last up to a week, like in 2018 when the river had its 10th highest crest at 35.72 feet. LG&E crews will return to residents’ homes to restore gas service only after water has receded and it is safe to access the area. If appliances have been damaged by water, customers are instructed to call a licensed plumber or HVAC contactor to ensure appliances are working. That contractor also can relight gas appliances -- customers should never do so themselves because of safety hazards.

Even though people know it’s a risk living close to the river, Hall has compassion for the people he has been helping for more than 15 years.

"I have developed good relationships with our customers on the river over the years,” said Hall. “I like the challenge of working during floods, and it’s rewarding to help those who are unfortunately dealing with a difficult flood disaster situation.”
