Joining the Avalon Yacht Club is a great way to enhance your summer at the Jersey Shore. The AYC has many activities for everyone in the family! Each year we have events such as a house tour, a fashion show, and a golf tournament. These are just a few of events we have each year! We also have parties on our North Deck such as “Back to Philly Night”, a festive tribute to Philadelphia, where everyone wears Philadelphia sports attire. We also have many activities for children, including a complete sailing program, and even a Jr. Commodore’s Ball! This is a great way for your children to meet friends at the shore. Every Sunday night in the dining room, we have a magician that is sure to entertain you and your family personally right at your table! AYC offers a variety of sailing events and racing series for adults and juniors. We sail a range of boats including the Optimist, Sunfish, Laser, Club 420 and a small number of offshore keelboats. In addition to the club level events, the AYC hosts three invitational events including the Avalon MAYRA Regatta, AYC Juniors Regatta and the Avalon Cup Offshore Race. The AYC is a great place for any occasion. Whether it is a nice dinner with the family, a corporate dinner to impress colleagues, or just to stop in while out on the boat, the AYC can accommodate most events. Also, as a member of the Avalon Yacht Club, you have reciprocity to almost any yacht club around the world. AVALON YACHT CLUB 2023 MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION & FEES All fees effective 1/1/23 Annual Member An annual membership entitles the member, spouse/spouse equivalent/significant other and all children up to and including the age of 25 to all club privileges. Annual memberships are not permitted to attend the annual proprietors meeting, cannot vote on any pending issue brought to the proprietors for a decision and are not eligible to be a club officer or trustee. Annual membership is a temporary class limited to three seasons of membership after which the member must apply for proprietary status in order to continue membership. Annual members are subject to the following charges: Annual Yearly Dues: $2,340.00 Restaurant Minimum: $600.00 Initiation Fee: $2,900.00 (first year only) *Building Fund Assessment: $125.00 Total: $5,965.00 Individual Member An individual membership entitles a single (unmarried) member who is at least 21 years of age, to all club privileges. Individual members are not permitted to attend the annual proprietors meeting, cannot vote on any pending issue brought to the proprietors for a decision and are not eligible to be a club officer or trustee. This membership class is intended for new members to become acclimated to the club and is limited to three seasons of membership. Beyond this period an individual member must apply for proprietary status in order to continue membership. Individual members are subject to the following charges: Individual Yearly Dues: $1,840.00 Restaurant Minimum: $300.00 Initiation Fee: $2,900.00 (first year only) *Building Fund Assessment: $125.00 Total: $5,165.00  *The non-refundable assessment will accrue towards a proprietary bond  All dues and fees listed are current as of the date shown above but subject to change by the Board of Trustees.

With more than 200 members, and a brand new waterfront clubhouse, the BYC is one of the best ways to enhance your summer experience at the Jersey Shore.The Club offers a full calendar of social events and sailing programs for young children, teens, singles, couples, and families. From seasoned sailors and boaters, to those new to the water, the BYC makes everyone feel welcome, connected and included.

We have on-shore storage for sailboats, (Optimists, Sunfish, Lasers, Club 420’s, and larger boats) a ramp, hoist, floating and permanent docks. In-water boat slips are also available.

The BYC is also the perfect venue for unforgettable private parties, spectacular weddings and signature events. Our two-story waterfront clubhouse features a full-service bar, large water-front ballroom areas, and spacious decks offering sparkling and expansive sunset views.

Whether it’s a casual dinner, a night of music and fun, or long leisurely days on the water, the BYC makes summer special for members, their families and guests.

Sail All Season Long For an Easy Monthly Fee

Our membership program is simply the easiest way to regularly sail  at the shore, without all the expense and work that normally goes with it. 

Our location has access to different types of waterway options which include nearby river anchorages for a quiet night on the hook, or for more adventurous sailors, an ocean journey leads to an exciting destination along the coast.

We’re almost full for the upcoming season but there are a couple of options still available. You’ll need to act soon to make sure you have access to a boat for this season! Call 866-724-5101  for the details and make sure to ask about the current Special Offer .

We’re very interested in new boats for our fleet!  We  pay you to use your boat in our program plus the costs for insurance, slip fees, and regular maintenance expenses are covered . Learn more about the benefits of Owner Membership .

We offer  3  levels for SailTime memberships where you can   skipper the boat on your own. First is a  Premiere membership which provides 14 reservations each month of the season. Then a Classic membership  gets you on board for  7 monthly reservations , plus unlimited “as available time”. We also offer a Lite membership that provides  3 reservations  each month. of the sailing season

If you’re just learning and are looking for a way to practice your new skills, then a  Crew Membership  may be for you. This program offers a couple of sails per month under the guidance of a licensed USCG Captain.

We’d be happy to set up a  private appointment for a boat visit and  a “walk-through.” Coming out to the dock is the best way to check out the marina, and the layout of the boat and to have your questions answered in person.

From the first time we provided photo booth services for a client at Brant Beach Yacht Club, we knew this venue was a special place. The management and staff here are meticulous with every detail. They are friendly and always have a smile on their face. The views and location are amazing! The space that's provided for our photo booth is excellent and guests love the fact that they can enjoy taking pics in the booth all night in a spacious room right next to the main reception room while still enjoying the music and dancing only a few feet away. Shore Acres Yacht Club is situated on what some would call the finest racing spot on Barnegat Bay. Just off Green Island there is consistent southerly breeze and open expanse for race courses. Our new clubhouse boasts ample vehicle parking, beach / hoist / ramp launching options, several large decks and docks for spectators, and our club house has two floors of spacious interior with air conditioning and heat so you are comfortable no matter what the regatta day weather brings.

In the past Shore Acres Yacht Club has hosted a wide variety of larger sailing events including US Sailing Champions of Champions, ILCA (Laser) 10 Districts, Area C Sears-Bemis-Smythe Junior Qualifier, MASSA Cressy Qualifier, and New Jersey Optimist States. 

Kettle Cup Regatta

The newest addition to the SAYC regatta schedule our Kettle Cup Regatta. This one design regatta is for the Sailing World 2022 Boat of the Year award winner, the Melges 15.

Junior regatta that takes place in July of every year. Open to male junior sailors in Optimist, Sunfish, ILCA 6 (formally Laser Radial), ILCA 4 (formally Laser 4.7), 420s, and Fevas.

Featuring a popular chili cook-off this one day regatta the first Saturday in October helps MC sailors transition from summer to fall sailing.

Plank ILCA Regatta

Hobie fair winds regatta.

Annual regatta open to ILCA  4, ILCA 6, and ILCA 7. Perpetual "Plank" trophy awarded to the ILCA 7 overall winner.

Mid-Bay Interclub

A  collaboration with Normandy Beach Yacht Club, Lavallette Yacht Club,  and Shore Acres Yacht Club, now open to Mantoloking Yacht Club and  Metedeconk River Yacht Club as well for interclub sailing on the mid-  Barnegat Bay. Fleets include: Sandpipers, Sanderlings, and Auxiliaries. 

The event is open to all class legal  Hobie Wave’s. Hobie 14’s, Hobie 16’s, Hobie 17’s, Hobie 18’s, and Hobie 20’s

Shore Acres Yacht Club utilizes ClubSpot as our digital scoring platform. To see a complete list of all active regattas accepting registration, please click the link below.

Spectators are welcome on the Shore Acres Yacht Club grounds. We have ample patio and deck seating facing the prospective sailing venue. Spectators are also encouraged to bring their own spectator boats. Shore Acres Yacht Club has a small ramp or one-ton hoist for launching and abundant bulkhead space for pre- and post-race docking. Additional ramp launching options and a gas dock are available for purchase through our neighborhood marina Drum Point Marina . 

Shore Acres Yacht Club typically is able to offer housing and on-site camping / RVs are permitted (see event NOR / SI to verify).

The competitors are ultimately responsible for the risks (See RRS 3 Decision to Race). The decision to enter the regatta, to start or continue  any  race  is  up  to  the  competitor.  Furthermore,  each competitor accepts full responsibility for his/her actions during any activity related to the event, including onshore activities. The organizing  authority  will  not  accept  any  liability  for  property damage, personal injury, illness, or death sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during, or after the regatta.

First refuelling for Russia’s Akademik Lomonosov floating NPP

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactor units. In such reactors, nuclear fuel is not replaced in the same way as in standard NPPs – partial replacement of fuel once every 12-18 months. Instead, once every few years the entire reactor core is replaced with and a full load of fresh fuel.

The KLT-40S reactor cores have a number of advantages compared with standard NPPs. For the first time, a cassette core was used, which made it possible to increase the fuel cycle to 3-3.5 years before refuelling, and also reduce by one and a half times the fuel component in the cost of the electricity produced. The operating experience of the FNPP provided the basis for the design of the new series of nuclear icebreaker reactors (series 22220). Currently, three such icebreakers have been launched.

The Akademik Lomonosov was connected to the power grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020.

Electricity generation from the FNPP at the end of 2023 amounted to 194 GWh. The population of Pevek is just over 4,000 people. However, the plant can potentially provide electricity to a city with a population of up to 100,000. The FNPP solved two problems. Firstly, it replaced the retiring capacities of the Bilibino Nuclear Power Plant, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya Thermal Power Plant, which is more than 70 years old. It also supplies power to the main mining enterprises located in western Chukotka. In September, a 490 km 110 kilovolt power transmission line was put into operation connecting Pevek and Bilibino.
