Are all Inclusive Charter Rates available?

YES! , and it will still be a very custom vacation aboard with itinerary planning and menus based on your preferences.

All-inclusive luxury yacht charters can be a great option, especially for first time charter guests.

Want to be sure you get the right answers to your questions? we have the decades of experience you can be confident in.

Both "all-inclusive" and "plus expenses" charters have their advantages and disadvantages and we are happy to help you make the right choice for you.

What is included in an "All Inclusive" yacht charter ?

Your all inclusive charter price on yacht, at minimum, includes a Captain and additional crew members, including crew who will prepare all the meals, to suit the size of yacht and handle the yachts operations, provide personal service, and help arrange activities etc. The Charter price will include your food, drink, and most likely a standard "ship's bar". Even the smallest yachts manage to surprise our clients with what is provided. In the Caribbean and BVI's particularly, most evenings will be spent at anchor vs at a dock as the majority prefer the tranquility of their own "private island aboard".

What Is Not Included on an "All inclusive" yacht charter?

The simple answer is "not much”, it is most likely that guests will incur no other charges beyond the all inclusive rate they paid and a crew gratuity. The prices are typically based on the number of guests on board, that's simply because the more guests, the more is consumed.

However, specific yachts can have a few items that could incur extra charges, and our charter specialist will note them for you beforehand so there will be no surprises. These charges will be unique to each yacht and may include things such as satellite phone usage, communication costs for computers, dockage or mooring fees, cost of scuba diving, minor cruising taxes, exclusive menu items, premium level wines, or spirits beyond what is usually stocked. Again, what might be charged extra is dependant on the charter yacht and the clients usage. There will be no surprises, as any exclusion will be stated in your charter contract..

Are there any exceptions?

There are also a very few all inclusive charter rates that include all costs except for the cost of alcoholic drinks. Historically even with such occasional exclusions, except where the "bar" is extra, we find clients rarely incur extra expenses beyond the base all inclusive yacht charter fee. This is a basic definition; exact details for a given yacht will be explained by our charter specialist and stated in your yacht charter contract which is the definitive source for such particulars.

Where can I book all inclusive charters?

Yachts offering all inclusive charters are most commonly in destinations where costs can be predicted such as in the Caribbean and Virgin Islands. For example: the Virgin Islands havs a known smaller cruising ground which gives the owner the ability to predict fuel costs. It’s a popular destination for its’ countless places to cruise and there are many charter yacht choices available. Where distances are further and on yachts where expenses are more variable, it is rare an owner will offer "all-inclusive". Example: a large yacht might consume significant fuel over large distances making it very difficult to commit to a fixed sum for fuel expenses. One of the great benefits of a private charter is no fixed itinerary, e.g. fall in love with one destination, you can stay longer. hence fuel expenses may be vastly reduced.

Eastern mediterranean all inclusive charters.

Some eastern Mediterranean charter yachts will offer a form of all inclusive charters where fuel for up to four hours a day may be included or a half or full board pre paid cost per person like a resort is an option.

BUT, are "plus expenses" charters predictable?

Yes, before the charter, working with your broker and the yachts' captain your custom itinerary will be created and along with your preferences for things like meals, drinks and dockage, the Captain will be able to inform you if your expenses might be above or below what their guests usually incur. You will know the average cost of expenses beforehand and if you incur fewer expenses, any remaining deposit against expenses will be returned to you. Of course the advantage of these charters is you are only responsible for those expenses you actually incur. Prefer to be at anchor in tranquil coves? you'll save money on dockage.

Crewed charters vs Bareboat with a captain

Given the predictable costs of fully crewed all inclusive charters, guests will find that once all meals and drinks and other expenses are calculated for in a bareboat charter and the daily cost of crew is included, an all inclusive priced charter is often a better deal in overall cost.

Of course there is also the added value that no one has to shop for provisions, cook, clean up, or watch the anchor at night. The great advantage is that the crew is going to be there for you to make sure you achieve your ideal vacation, that is their sole goal! A fully crewed yacht usually will have more amenities such as water toys already on board which would not be found on a "bareboat"

Special requests

Should you have a particular request such as learning to sail or standing watch at the helm, just let our charter specialist know and they can use that information to help guide you to the ideal yacht charter. Once you have experienced a fully crewed all inclusive yacht charter, it’s unlikely you will ever think "bareboat" again!

Yacht Charter vs. Yacht Rental?

A yacht rental and a yacht charter are typically the same thing so don't be confused by the two terms. Sometimes the word rental may be referring to renting a boat or yacht for a few hours and a charter for a longer duration. No need to worry about the distinction with our specialists who can explain everything.

With so much uncertainty surrounding foreign travel, the stellar 25m / 83’ Sunseeker luxury motor yacht CHESS embodies the perfect escape, where you can experience supreme luxury and 5-star service in a yacht charter  around the UK's beautiful south coast, where her dedicated crew stand ready to make your dream vacation a reality. 

Built in 2005 as part of their popular 82 range, the motor yacht CHESS has recently been extensively refurbished and is the largest Sunseeker yacht to be available for charter in British waters. The YachtCharterFleet team had the pleasure of being hosted on board last week at its new premier base opposite Portsmouth’s historic shipyard, where CHESS's impressive new features were showcased to perfection.

Sporting a striking cafe au lait palette courtesy of illustrious designer Ken Freivokh, with exterior styling by Don Shead Yacht Design, CHESS radiates pure elegance and style. 

She also boasts an impressive maximum speed of 30 knots and comfortable cruising speed of 22 knots, with her planing hull ideal for zipping between destinations.

Spacious accommodation

Luxury superyacht CHESS comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests in her four beautifully-appointed cabins with plush carpeting throughout; comprising a generous Master Suite, featuring a walk-in-wardrobe, and large VIP cabin opposite, as well as two further doubles, which were updated in the refit and can now be converted into twin beds providing fantastic flexibility for yacht charters.

Further recent refurbishments include attractive cream suede panelling and enlarged windows, which infuse the space with an abundance of natural light highlighting the elegant walnut veneer interiors, sumptuous furnishings and bespoke bed linen courtesy of John Lewis – marking their first ever superyacht project. 

Each cabin also boasts a newly refitted ensuite, fantastic integrated storage options, state-of-the-art plasma OLED TV with apps, including Netflix and Prime, and enhanced high-speed 40mbs WiFi system (5G compatible) ensuring guests are well-connected whatever the destination.

Main social areas

On her main deck level there is a spacious main salon, which is flooded with light courtesy of large flanking windows, with two beautifully refurbished cream leather seating areas coupled with luxurious soft furnishings. In addition, there is a coffee table and further storage spaces, as well as a large wall-mounted plasma TV – making this the perfect place to kick back and unwind with family and friends.

Motor yacht Chess features stunning lines with a generous interior and exterior, offering guests the perfect space to cruise in luxury and style.

Further forward there is a formal starboard dining area, with an open galley opposite, where you can sit and marvel as the chef creates his delectable array of French and Asian fusion dishes. Having spent the last ten years in Japan, chef Nick is hugely passionate about his food and will happily serve up dish after dish of heavenly canapes for guests to feast on. Naturally, the chef will ensure each meal onboard is perfectly tailored around your individual preferences.

There is an additional comfortable seating area located in the helm station forward of the galley, where guests can gaze at the scenery as the captain expertly navigates CHESS towards her next destination. 

Alfresco socialising

On the main deck aft, there is an additional dining area for 8 guests, which is perfectly shaded by the sundeck above; a great place to enjoy your early morning coffee and croissants as you relax and watch the world go by. 

Follow the stairs up to the sundeck, superyacht CHESS’s crowning glory, where you’ll find an impressive large teak dining area, with a starboard bar and grill, perfect for lazy BBQ’s up on the sundeck. Guests can lounge on inviting sunpads located on the sundeck’s forward and aft areas, where they can soak up the summer rays and enjoy sweeping panoramic views of their surroundings.

There is a further sunpad block located on the bow, where guests can experience a spot of heavenly sunbathing whilst the yacht is moored off one of the many beautiful anchorages around this spectacular region. 

Hydraulic swim platform

To optimise space on the sundeck the yacht’s tender has been relocated to the hydraulic swim platform on the aft deck whilst the yacht is cruising. This also means the crew can now launch the boat with ease for anyone wishing to explore their surroundings or take a tender ride ashore. 

Once the tender has been launched, the swim platform can also be lowered into the water for guests keen on taking a refreshing dip in the sea, where convenient retractable bathing steps facilitate their ascent out of the water after their swim. 

CHESS also boasts a raft of paddleboards and kayaks, perfect for exploring the south coast's myriad secluded bays and hidden coves. 

Flexible itineraries around the UK’s beautiful south coast

There are countless picture-perfect places to discover around this beautiful stretch of coastline, whether you are keen on exploring the breathtaking Jurassic coast, visiting Queen Victoria’s idyllic sanctuary on the Isle of Wight, strolling along Cornwall’s array of golden-hued beaches and charming fishing villages or witnessing the captivating beauty of the Scilly Isles; there is a perfect charter destination for everyone to enjoy onboard the luxury yacht CHESS.

With so much to see and do, the South Coast offers its visitors freedom, world-class coastlines, phenomenal scenery and the ultimate rejuvenating escape.

Isle of Wight

Nestled in-between the English channel and the solent, the Isle of Wight is a perennial favourite for holiday makers from the UK and abroad. It’s not hard to see why; with stunning rugged multi-coloured cliffs, clement weather and 500 miles of established walking routes and bridleways, not to mention myriad adventure pursuits on offer, such as sailing, paragliding, and rock climbing. Along with a scattering of golf courses and a huge range of family-oriented activities, there is so much to see and explore on this magical island. 

Visit the needles and take a ride on the world-famous chair lift where you can marvel at the expansive vistas as you descend towards the island's iconic multi-coloured sand bay. Or, take a trip back in time on a tour around Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday home, Osborne House, where she spent many a happy summer with her extensive family and beloved husband Albert by her side.

To the east lies the beautiful secluded Priory Bay, a sheltered curve of pale cream sands and crystal clear waters, accessible only by boat, perfect for a leisurely afternoon swim away from the crowds. Top the day off with a trip to Cowes, the island’s famous sailing mecca where you can rub shoulders with the sailing elite whilst enjoying a cocktail at one of its myriad bars and restaurants.

Jurassic Coast

Spanning 95 miles from Dorset to Devon, this breathtaking stretch of prehistoric coastline is characterised by high limestone cliffs and sweeping golden sands. The Jurassic coast is England’s only natural World Heritage site, steeped in a rich geological past. The region incorporates the popular towns of Swanage, Weymouth, Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton.

Stop off at the lovely township of Lyme Regis, which dates back to the Domesday era, where you can soak up its cultural history and meander through the charming streets that so inspired Jane Austen in her regency novel Persuasion which she wrote after visiting Lyme Regis in the early 19th century.

You can also try your hand at fossil hunting or visiting one of the many museums nestled along the charming towns and villages and rock-hewn bays that perfectly encapsulate the savage beauty of the Jurassic coast.

Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the stunning South Devon coast certainly lives up to the hype; with its rugged coastline, secluded beaches, labyrinthine estuaries and historic villages this region is sure not to disappoint anyone wishing to stop off on its shores.

South Devon boasts a vast array of award-winning beaches, including the privately owned blue-flag beach at Blackpool Sands set in a pretty scalloped bay, perfect for anchoring for lunch or dinner, or simply taking a dip into the inviting clear emerald waters. Devon is also well-known for its coastal walks, race sailing and old world pubs.

Cruise the beautiful meandering River Dart, where you can jump off and explore the historical town of Dartmouth, famed for both its naval and engineering importance as well as its rich cultural heritage; boasting castles, forts, historic architecture and museums. 

As the yacht cruises down the river, be sure to check out Agatha Christie’s childhood home and subsequent bolt-hole from where she drew most of her inspiration for her novels. At the end of the estuary lies the historic town of Totnes, which offers a laid-back bohemian vibe contrasting with its chic boutiques and fine dining options, ideal for a spot of shopping followed by a quick bite to eat before heading back to the yacht. 

Another must-see, if you have time, is the enchanting Burgh island, located west of the uber-glamorous town of Salcombe; accessible either on foot from the tiny seaside village of Bigbury-on-sea across the silken sand bars, or by sea tractor at high tide, which is enormous fun.

This destination almost needs no introduction, famed for its vast golden sandy beaches, charming fishing villages, world-class surfing and striking natural beauty, Cornwall is a must-see destination on anyone’s bucket list. 

Situated on the east coast of Cornwall, lies St. Georges island, a lovely nature reserve a stone’s throw from the mainland. Take a tender ride ashore for a hike along the well-trodden Looe to Polperro trail, which offers beautiful panoramic views of the Atlantic sea.

Heading west around the peninsula, make time for a tour of the majestic Pendennis Castle perched on a promontory in the sailing hub of Falmouth Harbour. 

For yacht charters heading west of Falmouth, aim for Penzance, where you will discover Cornwall’s hidden gems; cruise past the enchanting fishing port of Mousehole famous for its dark smuggling past, before dropping anchor in the crystal clear waters of Lamorna Cove, an exquisite sheltered hamlet which has inspired famous creative artists for centuries. Here you can enjoy Cornwall’s spectacular shore diving scene amongst sea kelp, wrasse and inquisitive sea lions. 

Afterwards, perched high on the cliffs above the Atlantic ocean, you’ll find the amazing granite-hewn open-air Minack Theatre, where you and your guests can enjoy a covid-safe show before heading back to enjoy sundowners on the yacht, gazing out to sea as the sun slowly descends over the horizon.

Located a couple of hours cruise from Land’s End, Cornwall, the Scilly Isles are an enchanting archipelago of 145 islands, of which only 5 are inhabited, including St. Mary’s, Tresco and St. Martin’s. These islands are famed for their soft sand beaches, caribbean-esque turquoise waters, extraordinary wildlife and untamed beauty.

For yacht charters around this stunning archipelago there are so many places to see and explore you’ll be spoilt for choice. Visit the 19th Century Benedictine Abbey where you'll find the incredible sub-tropical gardens at the Tresco Abbey Garden and Valhalla Collection – home to thousands of exotic plant species, or take a cruise past Rushy Bay on the once-inhabited island of Samson, where you can sit and watch as seals frolic on the shore. 

For those interested in history, we highly recommend a visit to Cromwell’s castle atop a rocky promontory, situated between the idyllic islands of Bryher and Tresco. This tower was built in 1651 and is one of the last surviving Cromwellian fortifications in Britain.

How much does it cost to charter luxury yacht CHESS?

Luxury superyacht CHESS is currently offering the unique opportunity for all-inclusive chartering, with the following prices;

• 1 day all-inclusive - £5000 (June and September)
• 1 day all-inclusive - £5750 (July and August)
• 3 night all-inclusive - £17,500
• 7 night all-inclusive - £40,000 

These rates are inclusive of tax and fuel for the yacht and tender, plus food and hot and cold beverages. 

Additional expenses may include excursions ashore, marina fees and crew gratuities (discretionary), which are not included in the price. Guests have the option to purchase alcohol on board or bring their own.

Health and safety onboard CHESS

The experienced crew onboard are highly trained in all aspects of yacht health and safety, so rest assured you will be in perfectly safe hands throughout your yacht charter.

Furthermore, all the yacht’s crew have been trained in the current Covid-19 safety and sanitation measures to ensure guests have a safe and relaxing experience on board.

Availability and bookings

Chess will be available for all-inclusive charters starting from the 28 of May 2021 and currently has dates available for yacht charters throughout spring and summer, although spaces are filling up fast.

Navigating the booking process can be a daunting task with many different types of yacht charters. that's why we've created this brief guide to all-inclusive charters, what's included and what boats offer it..

Not having to pay for expenses? That’s sounds a little too good to be true. You might be wondering: Are there really yacht charters with everything included?

The short answer is yes! All-inclusive yacht charters are available, but the majority operate in just a few charter destinations in the world. In fact, the majority take place in the Virgin Islands (both the U.S. and British islands). Outside of the Virgin Islands, though, you’ll find more traditional rate structures for charters, e.g. charter fees plus expenses.

In short, if you like the idea of an all-inclusive sailing vacation, consider a charter in the British Virgin Islands. A favorite Caribbean destination, the British Virgin Islands offer incredible beaches, exciting excursions and plenty of towns/resorts to explore. (Plus, you won’t have to worry about any of the expenses while you cruise and relax.)

What’s Included with an All Inclusive Charter?

All-inclusive means the majority of expenses – food, drink, fuel costs, taxes, etc. – are included in your charter fee. You aren’t required to keep an expense account open. Rather, you pay a one-time fee prior to setting sail, and that’s it.

But what amenities are included in an all-inclusive yachting trip? Here’s a quick look:

• Meals – Three chef-prepared meals per day, set to your preference.
• Drinks – All beverages, including bar drinks and cocktails, set to your preference. This includes the beverages in the ship’s open bar, which typically includes a mix of spirits, wine and beer.
• Snacks – Hors d’oeuvres, desserts and snacks are included.
• On-Board Amenities – Use of the onboard amenities and water toys, as noted on the yacht’s e-brochure.
• Fees/Taxes – Customs fees and cruising taxes are both included, unless otherwise indicated.

What’s Not Included in an All Inclusive Yacht Charter?

All-inclusive includes many of your expenses throughout your charter, and that’s one reason why many people like to book this type of vacation. It’s easier to plan and budget for. Yet, there are some special fees and amenities that aren’t included.

For example, dockage fees aren’t included, which is a fee paid to overnight at a marina. And special beverage requests aren’t included, as well. Here’s a look at some amenities that aren’t included:

• Fishing Licenses – If you plan to do some sport fishing, you’ll have to pay for the license in some cruising areas (not required for children).
• Dockage Fees – If you would like to spend a night in a marina, you pay the cost of the slip and dockside electricity and water. Nights spent at anchor do not include any additional fees.
• Special Food/Drink – Exclusive spirits, wines and food items may incur additional fees.
• Scuba Fees – If you plan on scuba diving, you may incur additional fees for gear and permits.
• Communications – Use of the yacht’s on-board communications equipment is an added expense. This can include things like computer usage and satellite phones.
• Transfers – Transfers from the airport to the yacht, or your return to the airport are not included.
• Crew Gratuity – Gratuity is not included. Traditionally, guests tip the crew at the end of the charter; 15% is customary, but the amount is at your discretion.

Does All Inclusive Include Alcohol? The majority of all-inclusive charters include everything you eat and drink on-board, including alcohol from the ship’s open bar. Yet, there are some charter operators that do not include alcohol in the all-inclusive, or they include just a small amount of alcohol. As you book an all-inclusive yacht charter, be sure to inquire about alcohol fees (if there are any).

All of the items that are included will be clearly marked on your charter contract , so you won’t have any surprise exclusions. Traditionally, though, it’s rare for a yacht to charge an additional fee for alcohol.

What Types of Yachts Are Available for All Inclusive

Not all yachts are available for all-inclusive charters. In fact, yacht charters in the British Virgin Islands that offer all-inclusive rates tend to be sailing vessels – both sailboats and catamarans – and they’re typically smaller in size.

• Sailing Yachts/Catamarans – The reason why sailing yachts and catamarans are more likely to offer all-inclusive charters is that they have much more predictable costs (e.g. little-to-no fuel costs). Plus, the British Virgin Islands is a small cruising ground, with a mix of beautiful islands located close-by. As a result, captains can better determine costs beforehand, which makes all-inclusive pricing possible.
• Motor Yachts/Superyachts – Motor yachts and superyachts, on the other hand, rarely offer all-inclusive rates . The reason? Fuel costs for motor yachts and superyachts tends to be highly variable; a last-minute itinerary change or increasing fuel prices can result in costs being much higher or lower.

Off-Season Specials . Some destinations, especially the British Virgin Islands, offer all-inclusive specials during the off-season (spring, summer and fall). You’ll find many more all-inclusive promotions during off-peak charter seasons, compared to the winter high-season. All-Inclusive Sailing Vacations: British Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands are a legendary sailing grounds. Here, you’ll find more than 25 islands and atolls to explore – including Tortola and Jost Van Dyke – as well as untouched beaches, reef diving/snorkeling spots, seaside cabanas, and a decidedly laid-back vibe.

Sailing the waters also make for a fun vacation. Throughout the year, the BVI receive steady tradewinds, incredible weather, and the water is warm and inviting no matter the time of year. A few key reasons to consider a sailboat charter in the BVI:

• Year-Round Charters – A sailboat charter in BVI is possible year-round. Like most of the Caribbean, winter is high season, when guests are treated to incredible weather and calm seas. Yet, early spring and fall are perfect times for off-season charters. In summer, the weather can be unpredictable, but many choose to charter in the summer.
• Plenty to Do/Explore – No matter your interests, you’ll find tons of one-of-a-kind adventures in the BVI. Tour centuries-old rum distilleries; surf, kayak, or kitesurf; hike the region’s numerous jungle trails; take an ATV tour; or relax at one of the island’s legendary beach parties.
• Incredible Sailing Grounds – The BVI’s 25 islands offer action-packed itineraries for sailing charters. Start your vacation in Tortola, the largest island, and check out nearby islands like Jost Van Dyke, Sandy Cay and Norman Island.

Catamaran charters are popular in the BVI, and there are many reasons you might consider an all-inclusive catamaran charter compared to a sailboat charter . A few of the top reasons include:

• Stability – Catamarans have two hulls, which increases stability at sea. Many people prefer catamarans for this reason.
• Shallower Waters – Catamarans can access shallower coves and waters, which opens up more possibilities in BVI. There are more than 60 atolls, cays and islands you can access in the BVI on a catamaran.
• Faster Cruising – Catamarans move faster and allow charter guests to see more on their charters.
• Spaciousness – The two-hull design provides a bit more space above and below deck, which increases privacy and allows more people to travel together.

Bareboat Charters vs. All-Inclusive

Some yacht charter guests like to hire their own boats, without a crew to sail the British Virgin Islands. These so-called bareboat charters offer some flexibility. Yet, the costs can quickly add up.

With a bareboat charter, you’re responsible for all food and beverages for your trip. Plus, any customs fees, cleaning fee, dockage, taxes, etc. are the responsibility of the charterer. Therefore, charter costs add up quickly, and bareboat charters tend to be similarly priced to all-inclusive charters, after all expenses have been calculated. Here’s a quick look at these types of charters:

• Bareboat – Nothing is included in your charter fee. You pay to rent a boat without a crew, and you’re responsible for food/drink, fuel, dockage and custom fees, and taxes.
• All-Inclusive – The majority of fees are included. Plus, you charter a fully crewed yacht. Depending on the yacht’s size, your crew will include a captain and at least one additional crew member to provide onboard services.

Of course, an all-inclusive crewed charter also offers peace of mind and pure relaxation. You sit back and enjoy your vacation, while the crew handles the details. If you’re interested in learning to sailing during your vacation, talk with your yacht charter broker. Many yachts are happy to provide guests with some hands-on sailing experience during a sailboat yacht charter.
