Overall rating

A very poor experience when it counted most: closing, signing, and delivery. I give the broker a little slack because he was out of town during the closing, however the person who he left to handle the closing was incompetent (new), unresponsive, and seemed annoyed that I would expect updates and follow through on her part. Closing was also delayed due to multiple errors on the purchase/sale agreement and customs paperwork like incorrect HIN#, missing documentation/licensing for the tender, and failure to disclose the need for/and arrange for a customs broker to facilitate to the transfer of the yacht into US waters! Now the yacht has been delivered I have an inflatable tender that does not hold air and an outboard that does not start; a 2001 42' yacht with a stbd engine that won't start without bridging power from the port engine; fresh water pumps that won't pump fresh water; $10,000 in earnest money that was supposed to be refunded directly from the broker a week ago, but has yet to be received. The surveyor also bears part of the blame here, but no call from the broker to follow up post-closing is just unacceptable.
